Good for you for pretending you didn't see them! They are so childish. Yuck. I also can't stand women like that. Eeew! Congratulations on your weightloss! Great NSV.

Yesterday I wore my skinny leg jeans, a ribbed v-neck white sweater, my black leather jacket, and my pointy-toed black boots. Yeah, I looked hot! Smiling still... This was the 1st day in the two-weeks where I could really show off my new body and weight-loss to everyone. First, one of the directors chased me down to say how great I looked. That made me smile. But, the true NSV was from the group of women that I truly cannot stand. These women are a clique and spread hateful gossip like WILDFIRE! These women haven't said a single word to me since my return to work 2-weeks ago. But, they do stare at me. So yesterday I'm in an early morning meeting with one of them discussing a new priority project. One of the key-cliquer's is in the meeting. She watches me get up and then looks me up and down with her mouth gapping....does she not think I cannot see this? I'm laughing inside and keeping a straight face while talkikng with my boss. Then another cliquer walked in and I get the same reaction from her...looking me up and down with a gapping mouth, but not saying a word. I act like I don't see her, but she goes over to her clique-mate and they start whispering. I'm sure they are talking about how I took the easy road by surgery, but I don't care. My take-away from this...the joy of seeing them look me up and down in shock over my current transformation. Just wait girlies....there is more to come!

Aaaaarrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhh! 2Lbs A Week?! Really?!

I second what NEW HOPE wrote. Look at the bright side quick might mean more skin later. Slow and moderate most likely will make all the difference later in how you look. I think it is a blessing in disguise. It is hard to feel that now but if you know you are doing the right things by eating and working out, it really is to your advantage. Take pics monthly, I plan on looking back at all the NSV others have shared when getting discouraged. Soon you will be seeing those of your own. I am right behind you, seeing how my journey plays out. Good for you girl working out so hard and eating right, it just a matter of time !!!! -

Hey guys! Well, today marks my 6th month surgiversary and I am down 65 pounds. I am currently in a stall that has lasted about 2 1/2 weeks. I started inching down by tenths since Monday. We will see if its breaking in the next several days. I seem to be in a holding pattern where I lose 8 or 9 pounds one month, then stall and lose 6 the next month, then it catches up and I lose 9, then stall again and lose 6. Overall I am thrilled with the results so far! I feel I am halfway through my journey as I plan to lose all my excess weight by one year post op and I am 65% there so not a bad start! I have struggled like a lot of folks with the fact that others who are the same as me have lost more than me but I have to keep focusing on myself and just be happy for them and keep keeping on with my plan. I have full faith that I will get to my goal! My sister has decided to join me on this journey and she is getting scheduled for June. So excited for her! This will also benefit me as I will have to be more diligent in my eating to set a good example for her. I dont know about any of you that are six months out or more but I have found that my bones are becoming a problem! They are starting to protrude and bother me when I am trying to sleep. My ribs and hip bones are digging into the bed and feel uncomfortable. I thought I was laying on something or had my gown or the covers bunched up, but it was my ribs! Holy Crap! My husband says I am getting bony. I knew from being skinny in college that I have very prominent bones but I had forgotten because its been 22 years. I still have fat and skin hanging but my bones are really showing up now! Cool or not so cool NSV... I will try to post a pic tonight when I get home from work!

Great story, thanks for sharing your amazing NSV moment. -
THANK YOU ..I didn't know what an NSV was and had been wondering for weeks!! Anyways..that happened to me also. I tried on a size 40 waist pair of jeans today!! I hadn't been a 40 since GRADE SCHOOL...went from a size 46 to a 40 in 4 weeks isn't too shabby!

Binge Impossible- My First Non Scale Victory (Long)
coops replied to LacieMC's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Lacie, what an inspirational story... this is more than a NSV in my opinion... this is such a HUGE success. Although, I don't binge per se, I certainly used to use food as a crutch... so I can relate on a certain level. What I appreciated about your post was the 'realness' of it and the process you followed. You should be walking on air now... really, this is fantastic!!! With this train of thought, and how you overcame such an emotional issue, you really are gonna get to wherever you need to be! Congrats!! -
I know how you feel, this was also my best NSV. I am going for my 3rd A1C test at the end of this month, I will be 9 months out. I am less than 10 lbs from my goal weight. My A1C number has been 5.5 or below at my last test and my blood sugar normal since after surgery. My Doctor tells me that once a diabetic, always a diabetic, I do not agree with him. Even though I take no medication and have substained my numbers for over 8 months, he still considers me diabetic but " controlled by diet". I feel I was a diabetic because of my lifestyle choices. I ate very unhealthy, I WAS obese, I did not exercise so that is what put me in that position. I take full responsibility for that condition. Once I made my decision to have the surgery and change my lifestyle, I am a new person and in no way do I consider myself a diabetic. I know you are on cloud nine, I remember my first follow up appointment when I had normal blood sugar. The surgery has already proved a huge success for you. Congratulations to you.

Nsv - He Thinks He Is So Cool!
CAsleeve replied to ShellBear's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I can not wait for that same NSV!! I would love for my husband to be able to pick me up. Well, he is super strong and could do it now, but I wouldn't dare let him for vanity sake. I want it to be effortless for him...so he does it often! Even just to be able to sit on his lap, you know how couples do sometimes. I just want to be able to crawl all over him! And, yes, as cludgie says, carry me over the threshold, finally! -

I cannot wait for that day!!! Great NSV thank you for sharing. -
I just had to share this one! So, I was being bratty last night and teasing my hubby, pushing and poking him and daring him to do something about it. The next thing I know I am hanging upside down over his shoulder and he runs in to the front room and I'm laughing and yelling, "you just think your cool cuz you can throw your wife around now"! My 23 y/o son who was visiting said, "that's what you get for being so skinny". Me? Skinny? Really? I am having so much fun with the new me and apparently hubby is enjoying the ride as well! I just had to share with my VST family! Love you all! Shell

I am five weeks out tomorrow and have lost 25 pounds. Yesterday I was doing laundry (which sucks because I have a two story house). Anyways, I was running up the stairs to hang up my daughter's clothes in her closet and my stretchy pants fell down to my knees. Small NSV but a NSV nonetheless!!!

(been there done that already-yee haw ! love those NSV's ! ) hope this helps !! good luck on your journey !! -
I have been a shower taker rather than a bath taker for many years. Don't normally take the time for long, decandent soaks in the tub. Also, when we moved into our current house four years ago, I discovered I really didn't fit in our tub. Even though it was a large whirlpool tub - when I got in it with the correct amount of Water (so the water didn't go into the overflow drain) there were large (pun intended) parts of me that couldn't get under the water level. Not a relaxing expererience. And the bathroom has way to many mirrors that replicated the sight of my too large self not fitting into the tub. I think I took two baths in that tub in four years. Well, I took a long, luxurious soak this afternoon. ALL PARTS OF ME fit under the water level! It was wonderful. I loved it! Needless to say - no pictures with this NSV. :-)

First Night Back To Work, Tonight. Im So Nervous.
Ms skinniness commented on Soon to be me's blog entry in Soon to be me's Blog
Everyone who sees she will be so envious of you girl! They're going to wish that they were loosing weigh too. Go in with you head high and looking beautiful and energized just like that stupid pink rabbit. LOL. You kick ass and keep rockin that sleeve! You might be in a stall, but that's just your body adjusting in inches now..... you wait, the same day you put on your pants, your notice that they have gotten looser since you put them on and that's an amazing NSV. -
I started to clean out my closet today. I am now wearing a 12 in pants and an XL top. I felt a bit sad to throw away some of the clothes that I liked... I can't figure out why that is... I can't wear them now nor do I want to be a size that would allow me to wear them. I am very happy with my weight loss so far and looking forward to losing much more. Not much left in my closet. Maybe that is why I feel a little down. I think the clothes topic in general is having its way with me at this point. Belly dance teacher brought in pictures of outfits for our peformance. I asked what size they came in and she said she didn't know. The class picked an outfit anyway. It is a one size fits all outfit on ebay. It says the bottoms are up to a 38 hip... mine are bigger. The top fits a small/medium... mine is bigger. Maybe this is a way to weed a fat girl out of the class. I don't really think of myself as fat now...because I have lost 60+lbs. But welll I am still a fat woman. Khy
