    Im Feeling Good

What a great boost for your self esteeem, that is truly a NSV, and you so deserve it! Karen
  4. Lacie, what an inspirational story... this is more than a NSV in my opinion... this is such a HUGE success. Although, I don't binge per se, I certainly used to use food as a crutch... so I can relate on a certain level. What I appreciated about your post was the 'realness' of it and the process you followed. You should be walking on air now... really, this is fantastic!!! With this train of thought, and how you overcame such an emotional issue, you really are gonna get to wherever you need to be! Congrats!!

    I Am No Longer Diabetic!

I know how you feel, this was also my best NSV. I am going for my 3rd A1C test at the end of this month, I will be 9 months out. I am less than 10 lbs from my goal weight. My A1C number has been 5.5 or below at my last test and my blood sugar normal since after surgery. My Doctor tells me that once a diabetic, always a diabetic, I do not agree with him. Even though I take no medication and have substained my numbers for over 8 months, he still considers me diabetic but " controlled by diet". I feel I was a diabetic because of my lifestyle choices. I ate very unhealthy, I WAS obese, I did not exercise so that is what put me in that position. I take full responsibility for that condition. Once I made my decision to have the surgery and change my lifestyle, I am a new person and in no way do I consider myself a diabetic. I know you are on cloud nine, I remember my first follow up appointment when I had normal blood sugar. The surgery has already proved a huge success for you. Congratulations to you.
  6. Wow this was a great post, very inspiring. I'm happy you "woke up" this is the new and improved you, don't look back, and you have no reason to beat yourself up tomorrow, you took control of your life Yay!!! Congrats on your first NSV!!!! :purplebananna: :not_ripe: :purplebananna:
  7. Awsome nsv!!! And awsome hubby ; )
  8. I can not wait for that same NSV!! I would love for my husband to be able to pick me up. Well, he is super strong and could do it now, but I wouldn't dare let him for vanity sake. I want it to be effortless for him...so he does it often! Even just to be able to sit on his lap, you know how couples do sometimes. I just want to be able to crawl all over him! And, yes, as cludgie says, carry me over the threshold, finally!

Nsv - He Thinks He Is So Cool!

I cannot wait for that day!!! Great NSV thank you for sharing.
  10. I just had to share this one! So, I was being bratty last night and teasing my hubby, pushing and poking him and daring him to do something about it. The next thing I know I am hanging upside down over his shoulder and he runs in to the front room and I'm laughing and yelling, "you just think your cool cuz you can throw your wife around now"! My 23 y/o son who was visiting said, "that's what you get for being so skinny". Me? Skinny? Really? I am having so much fun with the new me and apparently hubby is enjoying the ride as well! I just had to share with my VST family! Love you all! Shell

    NSV shout outs

I am five weeks out tomorrow and have lost 25 pounds. Yesterday I was doing laundry (which sucks because I have a two story house). Anyways, I was running up the stairs to hang up my daughter's clothes in her closet and my stretchy pants fell down to my knees. Small NSV but a NSV nonetheless!!!
  12. to LIVE !, not just EXIST !!! to be healthy and happy with a strong slim build, no matter if im at 140 or 125 ( im at 209, down from 225- 6 weeks banded),to get rid of the c-pap machine, to not feel uncomfortable in a group, to some day be able to ride a horse again. to go on a week long fishing trip to Alaska summer 2013 & to be able to ride in a small plane and a fishing boat without being qverweight and unhealth and embarrased by my size........so far i have had my clothes be so loose i have to buy new ones and to find out that when i go on my long walks that i can JOG part of the way & I weigh less than my hubby-( he's 6'1- 215 lbs.) (been there done that already-yee haw ! love those NSV's ! ) hope this helps !! good luck on your journey !!
  13. I have been a shower taker rather than a bath taker for many years. Don't normally take the time for long, decandent soaks in the tub. Also, when we moved into our current house four years ago, I discovered I really didn't fit in our tub. Even though it was a large whirlpool tub - when I got in it with the correct amount of Water (so the water didn't go into the overflow drain) there were large (pun intended) parts of me that couldn't get under the water level. Not a relaxing expererience. And the bathroom has way to many mirrors that replicated the sight of my too large self not fitting into the tub. I think I took two baths in that tub in four years. Well, I took a long, luxurious soak this afternoon. ALL PARTS OF ME fit under the water level! It was wonderful. I loved it! Needless to say - no pictures with this NSV. :-)

First Night Back To Work, Tonight. Im So Nervous.

Everyone who sees she will be so envious of you girl! They're going to wish that they were loosing weigh too. Go in with you head high and looking beautiful and energized just like that stupid pink rabbit. LOL. You kick ass and keep rockin that sleeve! You might be in a stall, but that's just your body adjusting in inches now..... you wait, the same day you put on your pants, your notice that they have gotten looser since you put them on and that's an amazing NSV.
  15. I started to clean out my closet today. I am now wearing a 12 in pants and an XL top. I felt a bit sad to throw away some of the clothes that I liked... I can't figure out why that is... I can't wear them now nor do I want to be a size that would allow me to wear them. I am very happy with my weight loss so far and looking forward to losing much more. Not much left in my closet. Maybe that is why I feel a little down. I think the clothes topic in general is having its way with me at this point. Belly dance teacher brought in pictures of outfits for our peformance. I asked what size they came in and she said she didn't know. The class picked an outfit anyway. It is a one size fits all outfit on ebay. It says the bottoms are up to a 38 hip... mine are bigger. The top fits a small/medium... mine is bigger. Maybe this is a way to weed a fat girl out of the class. I don't really think of myself as fat now...because I have lost 60+lbs. But welll I am still a fat woman. Khy
  16. 70 LBS DOWN TODAY!!!! Boooooooooom! Victory is SWEET! I have some setbacks: -Ate some CRAP sugary food over the last 3 weeks. Stalled my A$$ off! -Stopped killing it at the gym due to a Derby Injury NSV's: I bought several XL things including an adorable dress & they all FIT AWESOMELY! That is regular ladies XL, not 1X.... just to clarify (& gloat) I bought a size 12 REGULAR WIDTH strappy ridiculous heels that SCREAM Vegas (will be there in one month!) I was up to a 13W before surgery. I am currently wearing a tank top from the JUNIORS section. it has a multi-color zebra pattern & I think I'm going to wear it to the gym later! I can sit in the school chairs that have arms on them now. I can walk up to the third floor apartment of a friend of mine & I can still breathe!! My collarbones exist... and they are LOVELY! So, pretty damn good if you ask me. I have many more victories than setbacks & I start regular practices with the Charlotte Rollergirls Derby team IN ONE WEEK EXACTLY! L-O-V-I-N-G my new life~ ALSO.... CHECK OUT MY VIDEO BLOG ON YOUTUBE. More about my derby adventures there. Link is in my signature. I would love your feedback!!!!
  17. Congratulations!.. I'm not trying to be dramatic but I teared up a little reading your NSV

  20. So I'm now a little over 4 months out and it took that long to get a NSV I really felt awesome when it happened. I was shopping with my mom and sis, and was frustrated because we were in the misses section and I always think I can't fit anything in there, but then my mom forces me to try on a pair of 16s and I'm like riiiiight, I get into the fitting room pull them up easily and almost freaked! lol I've never worn that size in my life even in high school the smallest I remember is a 20. Since this I've bought some work pants in a 16 also! I'm still astonished

Good for you! Isn't this fun? Just wait til you start "missing" sizes. . now there is a NSV if you ever had one! Keep up the excellent work!
  22. NSV...Here's what weight loss has done. I visited my doctor yesterday. My blood pressure is now normal, my cholesterol is normal and I'm off the meds and my blood glucose is normal (no diabetes)! What a good day.

    Does This Really Work

im close to your size, 5'3 and was 225 lbs when i started looking at lap band last sept. i lost 6 lbs before i was banded dec 13th, and have lost 10 lbs since then. its all been a slow steady weight loss , a mild pain in my left side for the 1st 10 days, but felt fine otherwise. i know im on my way to sucess because i did my homework 1st. talk to anyone who has had it and read everything you can to make an informed decision. wait until you start getting NSV's (non scale victories) and compliments on your weight loss! you'll be so glad you got the band when some one calls you "a hot mama!!" best of luck to you !!

A Nsv That's Blowing My Mind!

That is an awesome NSV, congratulations! I've been contemplating that myself, while I'm in a stall, i'm trying to buoy myself up with realizing the volume that 57 lbs actually represents, instead of getting stuck on why its not moving faster.
