  1. I won’t miss: 1. my feet constantly hurting; 2. wiping my butt abnormally because I was too fat to reach behind me to wipe from front to back - I know, TMI! 3. Breathing heavily for any amount of exertion 4. Straining to buckle my sandals 5. Shopping from the Plus section 6. Having to wear orthopedic shoe inserts or purchasing special ortho shoes. 7. Straining to shave my legs. 8. No energy; taking naps every day I had off.

    August 6'ers?

I started the pureed stage of my journey and i have to say my chicken meatballs with tomato sauce taste delicious. I feel so much better. I'm sleeping in my bed doing things around the house. The only thing is I can't go out because I can't put on a bra.. (tmi sorry). 2 of my incisions are right under my breast. I made my husband take me to a food store a half hour away to pick up some things. Lol... anyway, hope u all are found great!!!!!

I don't feel ill, no temperature.......feels like when I did a colonoscopy.......everytime I drink, 5 minutes later I'm heading to the bathroom.....I'll call the dr's in the morning.....but wondering if anyone else is having this too. Thanks!

    Constipation. Tmi!

Someone suggested smooth move tea on my TMI post a week ago.... Almost mth out.... It worked and was pretty mild compared to a laxative , I made that mistake And almost died! Lol anyways I liked it I let my self get a week out and uncomfortable before I use anything. Good luck.

    Lets talk about sex...

Lmao!!! I kept reading "came into me" instead of "came onto me" I had to read it three times before I got it right! Damn dyslexia!! I was like wow yeah TMI!! Anyway I'm happy for your new found intimacy with the husband, it's one if those many perks!

Well, mine wasn't necessarily in the port site. It just HURT! I'm happy to report though, that today (6 days post-op) it doesn't hurt anymore! (I hope that isn't TMI!)
  8. Ok, ladies and gents...I love that I have finally found the right thread. I posted this on the shrinking violets thread (my April 07 group), and didn't get the responses I was looking for. I actually told my doctor this, he said it was the first he'd ever heard of this. About 3 weeks, post op, Susanne and I had some "hot and steamy". Each orgasm felt great of course, but weird in the port site. As we continued, I was almost dreading the orgasms. After about 7 or 8 orgasms, I was dying...I finally had to hold up the white flag. It hurt for about 2 days after that. The pain was dull, but constant. This is the first time I've ever heard anyone else talk about discomfort w/ orgasms. Thanks for sharing...now I know that I am ok. This is a great thread. Thanks for letting me share, and sorry if this is TMI. Peace out family!
  9. I do NOT miss: - Boxy clothes. - My husband’s disappointed glances. Now he wants to touch me more all of a sudden :-). He never said anything out of line, but I don’t miss those occasional glances... - Inner thigh rashes and zits. - Hiding behind people in photos. - Only liking photos of me taken from the neck up. - Saving smaller clothing sizes for “one day”. Now I can actually wear them. - Pot lucks & buffets. Yeah... no thanks. An all-you-can-eat place would be a complete waste of money for me now, anyway. - Car seatbelts riding up around my neck. - The waddle my walk was developing. - Weak bladder control. I can “hold it” a lot longer now. As a result, I have less issues with odor after near misses. I know... TMI - Hot flashes. Somehow they have disappeared. Interesting.
  10. Another December 9th sleever here. Heading into the TMI area. I feel like I'm in bondage, Left arm has blood pressure and Left hand has IV. Right Finger has oxygen sensor, and Right wrist has 3 hospital bracelets, Nose has oxygen tube in each nostril. Legs have cuffs to prevent blood clots. Stomach has the bandages and I have a drain. Got my pain pump, and call button, and other room controls. Have my laptop and phone plugged in. Whew. And I have had to pee... a lot,so every time I have to go, I have to get unhooked from it all. Plus it takes forever to actually start going. I also Nurse game me omeprazole thru IV and that's generated lots of burping. Able to have ice chips but if I over indulge I get nauseous. Over indulge being about 15 ice chips. And I'm HUNGRY. That scares me, thought the hunger would be gone. Oh yeah, my scalp is itchy and dry. On the plus side my little cheats (the chicken and carrots in my "broth". The few ounces of turkey with a tablespoon each of potato, stuffing, squash and cranberry sauce. The 1/2 scrambled egg at lunch the day before surgery.. Those cheats did not come back to haunt me. I have a private room, Moving over to the post surgery threads, but wants to let you folks know it wasn't that bad. My complaints are all minor compared with my health issues due to obesity. Soooooooo glad to have done this. Good luck everyone, and see you on the other side~ Moving to the loser's bench. Can't wait till you join us there. Going back to sleep as soon as the nurses do their thing.

  12. I think Im starting to feel hunger now :huh2:. And those stupid soups are not filling me up! Im so done with soup its not even funny. Just putting it in my mouth makes me wanna gag!!! Oh.. and never in my life do I wanna see yogurt and pudding :cursing:!!! It's soo crazy that everyone on here has a way different diet plan after surgery. I was reading about a "Mushy" stage. WTF!!!! Why dont I get a freaking mushy stage :crying:?!?! No... all I get is a 6 week full liquid stage and then on week 7: Real food. WTH is that about? So my diet pretty much consists of whatever I had for the clear liquid diet and yogurt, milk, and creamy soups (blended). So yea....Week 2. In the beginning of last week I did something really bad :frown:... I cheated. But shhhhhh, my husband doesn't know :wink2:. I took like 3 bites of a pizza but spit them out. Then I ATE the 4th bite :crying:. We then went to the mall and I had my first experience with "Dumping Syndrome"!!!! All I have to say is OMG!!!!!! Guys... It is sooooo not worth it!!!! Worst thing that ever happened to me. Just so you know... I have a HUGE public bathroom phobia. I literally cry whenever I have to go into one :crying:. But this "Dumping syndrome" is no joke and that phobia didn't help . It was just a really bad experience. One that I can promise will never happen again (intentionally anyway). This might be TMI but thats ok... maybe someone will learn from my stupid mistake. Ps. I still have the shoulder pain.... which sucks! But no gas... woo-hoo!!! (oh, and gas-x did nothing 4 me)
  13. Warning TMI -I don't know what kind of inhaled anesthesia I had but I know I had one. A few days after surgery I coughed of this glob of phleem that tasted really "mediciney." It was DISGUSTING!
  14. Warning if TMI.. If you're constipated, you will weigh a bit more till you pass it. Weigh yourself right before you have a bm then weigh after..you should see a pound or 2 drop. I also retain Fluid when I'm constipated. Try miralax,,I've taken it before,,it has no flavor so I add it to coffee or whatever.

    Calling January Sleever????

So I have manage to stick to my diet for 4 days which is nothing right? lol Yeah well I did actually lose 4lbs already which I suppose could either be water weight or bathroom weight...yea tmi I know but hey I guess I do need to flush out the excess waste i'll still take it. I just hope I can keep it up cause to be honest the whole protein shake everyday thing is getting boring. I'm bored of the tastes but I manage to mix it up with dinner. Tons of veggies to keep my stomach moving otherwise they said I would get blocked up. and I have been choosing to do chicken and fish. I hope everyone is having an easy time with theirs.

Can it really be this easy??

I am having a very similar experience. I had surgery on the 18th and I am completely back to my old self except the eating. I have done a lot of errands and chores, I have cooked for my family and guests, been for a bike ride, and (TMI warning) made my husband happy sooner than he thought I'd be able to. I was really expecting this to be much harder, and I couldn't be more pleased it isn't. I know not everyone's experience has been this easy, but I encourage anyone who is having fears and considering canceling to overcome them......it is so worth it.
  18. I've been in a stall for the past 2 weeks. Hoping to break through again soon!!! In TMI news, I'm almost 2 months out from surgery and I finally had a human-size poop! It felt great!! LOL!!

    A New Day

Oh Janet...I pray your are feeling better now. What a horrible event to go through... Nothing like experience to be the best teacher. Sushi is acting more like herself today. Her respiration is back down to 20 where the vet wanted it to be. Jack and I are both so happy...she's the baby we dote over now. My bad night was drinking a half of a Protein Shake towards bedtime. I know I am unable to fall asleep when I am hungry. TMI, I stayed awake for 2 hours after sipping the shake. I thought that would be enough time before lying down. About 4 hours later, it was like a PB, and I only made it to the sink. This is all very concerning and confusing to me. It was authentic hunger...and I also feel reflux if I go too long without coating my stomach. Beginning to believe that my time with my band is limited...

    A New Day

We'll be here for you Janet! Carole... good luck with the doctors! Michelle... keep up your good work! Doreen... how is Charlie doing now? Does his work give him time off? Diane... I think about you daily. Miss you my friend. Dawn.... Sorry... tell me again what the move plan is? Will you and Brad be tying the knot? Will you change your name? Inquiring Minds!!! Love to all, feeling some better today. Last two meals did not dump out! TMI!
  21. Ok I'm sure it's hormones but jeepers! Enough already! I read how postop it can mess with your period so I wasn't surprised when I started a couple days after surgery at the wrong times but I'm usually 3-4 days spotting and this is now a week and a half of spotting (sorry if TMI)! Plus my face is all blotchy! I'm so done with this crap! Ok venting is done now. Thanks for listening
  22. Two weeks prior to my Jan 19th surgery date, I begin a 2 week Protein shake and clear liquid diet. My surgery went well and I spent the night in the hospital. I didn't have a pleasant stay so I was happy to be released. The procedure was more painful that I expected and the medicine caused nausea and nightmares...not a good combination. The first week post op was quite painful and the worst part was releasing phlegm every morning (sorry if that was TMI but it was my experience). I could not really follow the Stage 1 and 2 diets because everything including Water caused more nausea. I took two weeks from work and I needed all of that time to prepare myself both physically and mentally to return to work. Beside advice I can give is take it slow and have a good buddy to help you for the first few days.

    April Dates

No i wish i had tmi lol i was very hydrated before surgery. I lost count on how many bags of fluids I've had. Also i never once filled up my catheter bag. So my bladder ultrasound said it was only 50% full so my body must be absorbing all this fluids. Sent from my DROID RAZR MAXX using RNYTalk
  24. Thanks everyone. I can't tell you how I appreciate the support. It's been an incredibly tough time - actually MUCH harder bc I can't eat to comfort myself. Which was the point of my surgery but I thought I wouldn't need it so soon. I'm doing much better now that I'm on soft foods. While I'm struggling with horrible potty issues (sorry tmi) and the anxiety and depression - at least physically I'm beginning to feel more normal. Not a lot of energy but I think I'm seeing improvement each day. I have an appt with my cardiologist on Monday and I think I will go to a specialist and ask about an ablation. The heart attack was incredibly scary to me. But if I had know it would have happened I probably wouldn't have had surgery. So in a sense I'm glad I didn't know it could happen before surgery. I do have a great therapist who has helped me through all of this and see her each week. God knows I need it! Thanks again so much. I don't get a ton of support from my family so it means the world to have it online.
  25. Ok..Ok I am almost 7 months post op and I have been losing a lot of hair since about 4 months. I am reading about Zinc on this thread and I haven't taken that but honestly I don't know that I can take another pill.. Here is a list of what I take everyday and I don't take it all at once b/c your body can't absorb it as well if you take it all at once and I couldn't get all this down my band if I didn't spread it out this much. (3) Iron tablets 325mg. each (2) Flintstones (2) juice Plus Orchard blend (1) Biotin (3) Flaxseed Oil (3)Alpha Lipoic Acid (2)Stool Softeners (TMI.. I know but its b/c of the Iron) (2)Juice Plus Garden blend (1)EmergenC (1,000 mg C, 32 minerals and B vitamins) And after all of that I only get 4.5 mg of Zinc from the EmergenC and the Flintstones which is 30% of the RDA. Gee... I feel like all I do is take supplements. I went to the doc and had bloodwork and the nurse called me back and said whatever your doing..keep doing it b/c your healthy as a horse. Do any of you take this much stuff?? I feel like a Vitamin FREAK!! Banded 6-27-06 Rumbaut Monterrey, Mx. 257/ 195 / 170ish
