Thanks "Living My Dream".......I've only lost 10 pounds since surgery March 23rd But, I'll have my first fill on the 20th of April and hoping it helps curb my "food desires".

i couldnt log in for some reason but im back!! No, i did not have the surgery yet as they keep pushing me back because i am stuck my weight is not going down. The gave me a HGH shot today to boost up my body to see if i can lose at least 10 pounds. not happy but i really want to do this so i am still trying.

I was banded by Dr Sofianos in South Africa in January 2009 and have lost 30kgs. Still have 10-15kgs to go. I am thrilled and should have done this years ago

Hi Lety! 20 lbs in 6 weeks is great! My tips for you is....take a pix of yourself every 10 lbs at loss, in the same outfit! For my before pix...I used a shirt and shorts that were to small on me....because I wanted to them get loose....then to the point where they just fell off of me! Find a workout that you love doing and do it!!! Mine is Jazzercise, its a GREAT TOTAL body workout and its so much fun! I do that 5 to 6 times per week. When eating....think about how little you can eat...vs. how much food can you get down....if you think like that, you'll never lose all your weight! Stay positive, some months you might lose 6 to 8 lbs....some months you might not lose any...it's very normal!

Hi Mary, My name is Lynn and I was banded January 31st, 2010. I had my first fill 10 days ago and am having difficulty drinking all the water and keeping the food down. Seems to be too much saliva. How are you doing with the food. Do you have any suggestions for me. I'm really excited about loosing the weight. I am much older, 63, but young at heart.

I had my first lap band fill 10 days ago and am still having problems keeping food and some drinks down. Is this usual or can anyone give me any helpful hints.

Thanks for the kind words... that is very nice of you... feels good to hear that sometimes. I have done pretty well with the band-- I am very blessed that since surgery I have had restriction-- I didnt have to go thru "bandster hell".... I have just followed the rules on drinking while eating... and eating my protein... and just making healthy food decisions as far as nutrition. Don't get me wrong-- I do allow myself a couple of "favorite" meals each week- but bc I have restriction I dont go over my calories. If you need anything on your journey please don't hesitate to email me-- will be glad to help... I will tell you one thing that helped me alot -- is to log all my food and drinks in caloriecounters.... I have offically lost 89 lbs as of this morning-- and I have 17 more to go to reach my original goal -- but I am thinking i might go another 10... to 125.

GOOD LUCK!!! Just remember to FOLLOW THE PLAN!!! I have been off for a week have have gained close to 10 lbs back!! JUST WATCH YOUR EATING AND REST

Hey that's awesome! I'm sure you're nervous, it's hard not to be. Who is your surgeon at Hopkins?

I've been really good - I've lost 73 pounds since surgery. I'm hoping to hit 80 pounds by April 1st which will be 10 months out for me. I've done well and love my band.

Tomorrow is my Band Day I have to be at the hospital at 10:00 A.M. my surgery is at 12:00 P.M. I will have to spend one night in the hospital because the surgery is in the afternoon that is my surgeons policy.

Yes Yes. Banded on 2/19 last friday. Everything is going well everything is feeling much better with the exception of the port site. That is still pretty sore. But im up walking and have some restriction and just getting use to things. Did you get banded yet?

I guess around 10 or 11 by now. Because of what happened I don't think she'll live to be very old. But she keeps hangin' in there.

Hi, thanks. I got a fill followed the diet regimen which i havent done before.i dont have any problem doing the liquids while at work.i am at my hungryest in the evening.im pushing myself back up to 2 hrs exercise a day.now i am scared tto weigh myself.i am still in my size 10's

Sorry I haven't been on here much lately. I finally made it past my 6 month plateau. I've lost 10 pounds in the last 4 weeks. I too am now around 212 / 213. And I agree we should have been in Onderland by now. But I am still very happy to be where I am. It's so much better than the 281 I started at. Don't get discouraged. I started to drift and go back to old habits. I have since kicked it into high gear and eating healthy again and the biggest part for me is exercise. I have learned that is the ONLY way I can lose weight. So I have to stick to the basics and what works for me. I hope you had a good birthday and treated yourself! stay in touch

Hey girl! Our Bandiversary is coming up very soon!!! 2/25/10! I can't believe it's been a year already! I just celebrated 40 lbs. this week. I thought I would never meet that mark! The last few months have been hard and the weight has been slowwww to come off! But I am still hopeful that it will keep moving down the scale. I have had 5 fills so far and have a total of 5 cc. I don't think I can take anymore, my band is tight enough for now. I sure hope that you are doing okay and that you have found a good spot (with the band). Love to hear from you!

How are you doing ?? It's my Bday today, and I'm thinking, and contimplating ... I've come a long way since 10/08, but I'm also beating myself up because I can't believe how quickly the time has gone!! Holy cow! I should be in Onderland by now, but i'm not. I've been sitting between 212-217 for the past month :-( makes me crazy! lol
