  1. That's a great NSV! You look amazing!! I could barely buckle my driver's seatbelt before and my surgery and my stomach touched the steering wheel. Driving is so much better now. Sent from my Nokia 7.2 using BariatricPal mobile app

    I can see my ribs!!!

Thank you all! I really appreciate the support and I look forward to my next NSV!
  3. So I started bartending again on day shift so I don't have to stock or mop when I leave cause we do that at night....anyway.... Football season is upon us and we have new people coming in to watch the games. We weren't that busy and my Dad had stop by to see me and play some pool with me. While I was playing pool with him a guy walked over to me and stood next to me for about 5 mins. I asked him how he was doing and he said "Great now!" all excited. I said "So your having a really good day then?" He said "I am now!" I just kinda looked at him and he said "Cause you are F**king gorgeous!" I was extremely taken back by that. Caught me off guard and I even quit playing pool. Didn't really know how to handle it.lol I talked to my dad about it and he told me to get use to it cause it was going to happen more and more. After I thought about it, I came to realize that along with the healthy benefits of this surgery came some other benefits. I'm happy I look better but I can't explain how much better I feel! It did make me feel good that someone said that too me but I was always know as the "Pretty faced" bartender. Looks like all that's changing now.
  4. Thats awesome! Loved your NSV!
  5. I felt this way. I felt ashamed that I even needed to be having surgery - like if I really had my life in order, I wouldn't have let myself get this big in the first place. I wouldn't have let myself get big and miss out living life to the fullest in my 20's. I was embarrassed to tell people and wondered what they would think of me. Even now that it's over, I have these moments of, "oh my god! what did i do to myself!" HOWEVER... then I have to think, if I didn't do it now, I could be even older than I am not, looking back, still struggling, wishing I had done something because I've missed by 30's (or 40's, or more!) This is not going to be easy. The full extent of how hard it is probably hasn't even hit me yet, but I know that I will do it. I have to do it because I want to feel better. I had a NSV today just realizing that my horrible foot pain has stopped - just by taking off 15 lbs the week after surgery. Maybe with another 15, my hips will feel good. Another and my knees will feel good. I have to hold on to that hope of being pain free, being active with my husband, and feeling proud of myself! Be proud that you are taking control now and just move forward. A year from now, you'll read your post and it will all be in the past.

    Awesome NSV

So, today for the first time EVER someone at work told me I look fit! I felt like that is the BEST compliment ever! Now, I am no where close to goal and I still have a long way to go but this morning one of my co-workers came in and said to me "Wow you look really fit! How much weight have you lost" How awesome is that I have NEVER been told I look FIT!!!!

Embarrassing moment and an NSV: Four years ago I had a few cocktails pre surgery with my husband. I slipped and fell back on the toilet and cracked the base. He is replacing the toilet today.........Buh bye evil reminder of my high weight.

Working toward the day someone thinks I look too thin. A non-NSV loss, just awhile back little kid👦 looked at me and said "Are you fat or are you a 👩woman"? I will drop enough pounds that my girl-hood 🙆shows and I get a figure that just curves in and out. I'll settle for a glass coke bottle figure 👸instead of a salami🍤 one!

I'm Eating. At 1 Am This Morning. Wth?!

My hunger varies by day and I've asked other naturally thin people and they agree, this is quite normal. When I look at my calories on MFP I see not a flat line, but rather a sinusoidal curve. So I wouldn't worry about the odd days up because they seem to be followed by fewer calorie days. Very. Ew for me. Previously if I was on a diet,I was starving! And you can bet I ate very damn calorie I was allowed. Now, if seems more a function of true hunger rather than anything else. Wonderful NSV in some ways
  16. Oh my goodness! So many NSV's in one situation! I would probably be doing some sort of crazy happy dance on the plane and get thrown off for erratic behavior. lol
  17. Fiddleman

Since when am i photogenic? NSV!

Isn't that a wonderful NSV! And you did it on accident?!?!? How luck are you. My candid shots always break the camera. They don't look good.
  18. I am anxiously waiting for my final insurance approval and surgery date. As I've been waiting, I've been thinking a lot about this topic. My top NSVs are: 1. Be able to get through my yoga class without having to modify the poses because my body is too big to get into the proper position. 2. Recognize myself in the mirror. Today, I avoid them because I don't recognize the person staring back at me as "me." It's so uncomfortable when your insides don't match the outside. 3. Be able to cover myself in a standard sized towel rather than a bath sheet. I travel a lot and hotel towels are never big enough! 4. Enjoy (or at least not dread) having my picture taken. I regret that I have so few pictures of myself and my kids when they were small. 5. Not dread going to school and my kids' sporting events for fear of being the biggest mom there (most other moms in my area are pretty fit). 6. Not having to shop in the plus-sized section or order everything online because the clothing stores I like don't carry my size in-store.
  19. Hi, I'm 5 months out and I hit two major goals this week. I'm officially"overweight" and I hit the 65% goal my Dr. said he expected to be my total weight loss. 100% here I come!

    Great NSV!!!

I had to buy a new coat today! My old coat is a Women's 2X and is now completely too big for me. I tried on several different styles and ended up getting a long black wool coat in a SIZE 12!!!! I am so tickled, I love this darn band!!! It is so great to shop in regular sizes and have so many choices!!! Just wanted to share a happy moment!

    2 year bandiversary....

I do believe that this may qualify as an NSV!

    NSV-shopping at a boutique

Its fun, isn't i!!NSv's are the best!
  23. I usually buy jeans or a shirt that are to small so I can work on eventually fitting into them. Well, today I bought a pair of capris in hopes that they will fit by summer. I bought a size 8. I got home and tried them on to see how small they were and they FIT comfortably too! I haven't been that size since middle school.....actually I think I skipped size 8 in my sleep in 7th grade lol. love my sleeve!
  24. Wendy, Wendy, Wendy...have you not read posts about just this very thing? Of course you lost alot of weight on liquids. But you can't be afraid of food. And you can't obsess over the scale. I mean it....put it away. Just focus on eating well, portion control, and exercise. That's all it is. The weight will come off...give it some time. If I've said it once, I've said it a million times...you didn't gain it overnight, and you won't lose it that way either. Stop putting so much pressure on yourself. Follow your doctor's instructions, and don't look at that scale again for at least a month. Oh, and look for the NSVs...you'll find plenty, I guarantee it. Good luck!
  25. Congrats. on the NSV's!!! Most people don't seem to understand the importance of that "ego boost" thing, I guess because they get it more often than heavy people. I reached a point that if I heard one more time about how "cute your face is" I was going to scream. I wore a dress to work the other day and one of the male inspectors I work with eased up close to me and said, "you might think about wearing dresses more often." I told my husband that night and he said he always thought I was cute but my new confidence has made me sexy!!! I'M SEXY!! WOO HOO!!!
