I had my surgery on February 10. The first few days were pretty rough due to the gas pains and the fact that I had a bad sinus/lung cold. Let me just say that coughing/blowing your nose after lap band surgery is NOT fun... After that, things have leveled out as far as surgical pain. Have a UTI, but it isn't too bad. Anyways, I weighed myself again today and so far, in the last 23 days. I have lost 45 pounds total! I am excited about that. And not only am I having victories on the scales, but I have also had a few small NSV's so far. Such as clothes fitting better or being too loose, being able to see my ankles, and being able to walk around wal-mart. Usually when I go into wally world I am in a riding cart, due to health factors in addition to weight. Last night when me and my boyfriend went in, I walked around the store most of the time. He followed me in a rider just in case, and I had to use it once or twice, but I got back up and walked more. It felt great! I'm loving life with the band. So glad I had it!

Congrats! Go buy the pants. It is such a boost to wear cloths that fit. We don't realize how baggy our clothes get. Enjoy your nsv, celebrate with new pants! -
I ran a mile without stopping...and I could have gone for longer!!! It felt like it has taken me forever to get to this point. I am really happy because I have never ever been able to run a mile. My heart health has improved dramatically and that is the greatest gift I can give myself. Yahoo!:w00t:

What is NSV?
-
1. My actual weight is less than that on my driver's license! That's amazing to me because at one point my weight was off by about 70 lbs - yikes! (This probably is a SV, huh - oh well) 2. I'M HALF WAY TO GOAL! I have a feeling that the 2nd half will be much harder than the first half - oh well, I'm happy anyhow!

Traveled for a week, gained 4 lbs
Donna4545 replied to Donna4545's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Thanks everybody--I'm on the True Path, with the exception of exercise--I'll get there. But the calories are under control--and I feel better than when I was eating all that restaurant food. One of my male co-workers who has also been losing weight (we talk about it) told me today that I was beautiful lol! Not in a creepy way,or a "you have a pretty face" way--it was sincere, I found it funny, I just laughed (and said 'thank you'). I know that my motivation is better health, but it was kind of a nice little NSV that made it a little easier to not go for the higher calorie food for dinner. Someone out there thinks I'm beautiful lol--what a concept! And at 292 lbs! After I lose 100 lbs do I get elevated to "Goddess" status? ROFL! -
None Of My Pants Fit Anymore.
PdxMan replied to Julie76's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I took a box knife to my belts and used a screwdriver and hammer to put in new holes. I've had to do this twice and need to do it again. There's an NSV for ya! -
This is a great NSV! I know exactly how you feel. I can't believe I can actually lift myself out of the bathtub now! Congrats to you and have an awesome day! Shell

Wow! Great NSV! Unlike the others I was about 120 when I got married, and it wasn't in a long wedding dress. But I am sure, it would still be too small as I have never been that small again. Congrats, to all you brides who either can make it into your small wedding dress, or to all of you who don't want to EVER fit into your wedding dress again!

I started exercising 5 years ago in an attempt to lose weight. I exercised like a mad woman, weight training, tons of cardio and could not lose any weight. That was when I decided to get the band. I found out that I could get off my anti depressants for the first time in over 20 years because when I left the gym, I felt so good. The dr. wanted me to go back on them when I was going through all the stress with my dad these past few months because they are also supposed to help with anxiety but I knew one of the side effects from those things is weight gain. I went back to the gym today for the first time since surgery and I am really glad I did. I miss working out when I don't go. I feel grumpy. I was afraid when I was in Arizona that I was going to lose all the muscles I have built up in my thighs. That was a great NSV when a guy at the gym a few months before my sleeve surgery asked me how I got my legs so toned.
