Major NSV today, for the first time in years I didn't need to ask for a seat belt extension in the plane, and my belly was not in the way of the food tray! I love my sleeve!!!

Pre-Op Diet And An Infected Tooth..
brandymarie81 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Great timing for me to have an infected tooth! Last week I lost about 3 pounds on the preop...then over the weekend when my tooth got infected and I couldn't eat anything cause the action of opening my mouth sent me into MAJOR pain..I dropped 10 lbs. Pretty dang AWESOME! Then I had my tooth extracted on Monday and the oral surgeon told me to eat soups, yogurt and generally follow a liquid diet...I started laughing and said...no problem...I have been for the last week anyways...I then told him that I was having WLS next week and he smiled and said good for you! The infected tooth is helping me stick to my diet...not the best NSV ever...but it's pretty awesome... -
This is kind of creepy but too funny to keep to myself.. I am six weeks out and down forty pounds from starting weight. I have noticed that i am getting a lot of random male attention. Got hit on, doors held open, the elevator kept waiting, rushed ahead in lines and even got a rose from my smoothie guy. I knew stuff like this could start happening. The thing that struck me the most though was when a arandom homeless guy said, " hey sexy". It hit me that i hadnt been hit on in many many years - not even by the homeless!! Is it a nsv?? Well, it has nothing to do with the homeless guy but i gotta say, it was indeed an nsv!!!

Here's my most recent NSV! Went out with a "friend" the other night, and wanted to dress to impress. I think I managed it! Oh, and the shoes are the first heels I've worn in years! I wore them till 4 in the morning without too much pain!

I just had an NSV when walking to a discount furniture store. I realized that my coat is toooo big for me now and I need to look into a small. I never thought I'd be this small. It makes me so happy!

Great NSVs! I had one yesterday. My sister in law who is also a masseuse kept commenting how much thinner I am while giving me a massage! Any other masseuse would have freaked me out but since she is family, it was music to my ears!

Today was a great morning...I had to move the hooks on my bra to the first one! Two months ago the hooks were hanging on for their dear life! Looks like I'll be making a trip to Victoria Secret soon

I am currently looking for a job (took an early retirement settlement at the end of December). It is certainly nicer to be looking at a size 10P, rather than a 24W. I had a job interview last Friday. I wore a beautifully tailored navy suit with a tiny shadow stripe of a paler blue. Under the jacket, I wore a blue cashmere sweater that picked up the color of the stripe. I had taken the suit skirt to the tailor and had it shortened (since I am 5'4" - this is a regular thing) to be the perfect just-below-the-knee length. If I was still morbidly obese, like a year ago, I would have either worn pants or left the skirt long - almost to my ankles. I had to buy a new pair of panty hose - in size B - the only ones I had in my lingerie drawer were size Q - and they made my legs look like elphant's legs with all the wrinkles. Cross your fingers or say a little prayer that I hear good news from the company I interviewed with!

My husband and I went shopping yesterday(I make him take me and watch while I model for him). He picked out a dress for me. I tried it on, and it was short, I said so, he says" It only 3 inches above yoyur knees!". I chose not to get it, but smile to myself that he thinks this 63 year old should wear it! Love NSV's too! Way to go! I hope you have bright painted toes, put on that sexy dress, and have a great time! You deserve it! What you are feeling totally makes sense and is encouraging for everyone to read. Bring on the NSVs!

Of course we are. I reckon we should celebrate ALL NSVs, and this sure sounds like an awesome one!

i thought "NSV" stood for non scale victory ? either way, they're a big ego boost, especially when the scale isnt moving. wait until your pants get baggy, some one says you look thinner, or you can fit into a smaller size. ! good luck to you !

What is NSV? Still new to all of this.

woo hoo! NSV are great, especially when cute clothes are involved!

Awesome! Congratulations. Hope more NSV's in your future!!!

The last month has been a pretty long plateau and I've been getting down on myself about the scale not moving. Today I reminded myself that it isn't always the scale that tells the picture. I did a little shopping and not only was I able to shop in the Misses department, but I bought a dress I would never have touched before. Completely out of my comfort zone, or so I thought. Couldn't wait to get home to try it on for the boyfriend. Big success. Can't wait to wear it. I feel a nice evening out in my future. I find that I enjoy shopping now, trying on clothes and pushing my own boundaries. I have painted toes, that I can see, and feel more feminine than ever before. I don't know if it makes sense, but instead of trying to 'blend in' and not be noticed, I want to say "look at me here I am". Looking forward to the next stage in my journey. I will reach goal that is a promise I've made to myself that I don't plan to break.

mis 73, i hope you dont think that im trying to "one up" you with a funny story, but i had a funny nsv too recently. Im 53 yrs old, ive been banded 8 weeks ( Dec 13th), down from 225 to 208. im 5'3 and have always carried my weight fairly well, a co worker said "theres no way you're 225 !" but i was...... anyway .... i dress nicely and think i look good for being at 208 lbs. and have been getting lots of compliments. recently my hubby and his male co-worker came through my workplace and hubby introduced us. after they left the co-worker said to my husband " i hope you dont take this the wrong way, but when you told me in december that your wife was having lap band surgery, i pictured a bowling ball on legs ! ! she looks great !!" i got a huge laugh out of that one , and im still laughing. God bless that guy !!! -
great nsv's ! happy for you !

Today was able to wear the most adorable corduroy leggings that I haven't been able to wear for over a year!!! & I was able to walk around freely without being afraid of starting a fire between my thighs!!! ( corduroy friction on a big gal can be disastrous for those of u that don't know)

I got up this morning and got dressed for my job interview today. WHAT A MESS! None, and I mean NONE of my clothes fit me - some were too small (granted I was expecting that) but the ones I JUST BOUGHT were too big. And not tuck here or pin there too big - TOO FREAKING BIG. I had to run to Kohls and buy new clothes because I had NOTHING to wear! I put on a pair of pants that, I was going to wear to Mexico for surgery less than 3 weeks ago and they were just too tight - not comfortable at all. Today, they're too big. I mean TOO BIG! Like awkwardly too big! I'm so excited about this! I wonder if i still have the receipt....

If you're serving as an inspiration for others to improve their health and their life - I say be proud of it, and encourage and support others any way you can. If you can help others, that's a big NSV in my book. If they're successful, I guarantee you they won't care how you did it. If they're not successful, then maybe you would consider letting a few extra people in on your secret, and can inspire them to take the next step - but that's totally up to you!
