    Nsv I Think?

So I just decided to walk 2 miles. I'm in Florida and the weather is beautiful! As I'm walking my pants are falling down. So I reached for the drawstring in the front and WTHeck? no drawstring. So I felt around the back and realized I had my pants on backwards. No wonder the landscaping guys were looking at me funny huh. Well I see it as a NSV. What do you think?
  3. This is an odd NSV, but I was putting on my jeans this morning, and I was checking that my belt was looped through all of the belt loops correctly. I didn't realize it until after the fact, but today was the first time I didn't have to lift up a layer of flab to accomplish this! I was able to just look down at my belt, you know, all normal-like! That was a bit of a "holy cow!" moment. It's a really pleasant feeling to not have to be constantly lifting up layers of flab to see stuff "south of the equator."

    I can see my belt!

He, this reminds of my "I can see my a$$" NSV (just less vulgar of course) - LOL

    Memory

I went to my LB support group last night and someone shared what a friend who had WLS had done. He mounted a whiteboard in his garage and kept a list of all of his victories (NSV and SV), of all the goals that he had accomplished on that board where he could see it every time he got in or out of his car. I think I may try and come up with something similar. Thanks for all your kind words.
  6. Tell me some of your best NSV's post op.. I haven't really experienced any major yet considering I'm only 5 weeks out but I'm excited to hear some of u guys stories.

    NSV anyone?

My first NSV...I returned to work Monday and two guys in the office came up and said, wow, you look so great -- I love your new hair do. I have not done anything to my hair...I think my face has gotten thinner. I just smiled and said, thanks, glad you like it. I laughed to myself as I walked away. It was fun. Plus, I notice all my too tight closes are now way too loose. I can shop in my closet for several months before I will need to buy anything. I have a pile of clothes started that I want to donate too. It is a fun feeling to take out the old and slide into clothes that have not fit for quite a long time. Ya hoo. I love reading everyone's NSV's -- alot of fun to share in the joy!!!!!! Keep em coming everyone.

Whoooo Hooooo Marie! Now that is a great NSV! I do the same thing, blush or bust out laughing. I just can't keep a straight face. lol I had to move my watch band over a notch. So, I guess that is a NSV too!

    NSV anyone?

Another day, another NSV. Today, not only am I wearing for the first time, a shirt I got for Christmas, but I RAN FOR THE BUS. Yes, you read that correctly, I RAN for the bus. It's not like there wasn't another bus in 5 minutes... but I RAN. Me! and I wasn't winded either! Heh, sure, I'm happy with all my NSVs but a part of me is wondering when I'm going to start having some weight loss!

    NSV anyone?

Great NSVs! On Friday I was walking through a large, busy corridor at work and I heard two people behind me talking. The first one said, "That's Nancy M." The other one said, "That's Nancy M?!" Then they both stopped me to tell me how good I look." I just shopped in my first regular store! OK, I got an XL and a 1X, but it was a store where skinny people shop, too! There are more, but that's enough! Nancy

    NSV anyone?

Love the NSVs, everyone. I'll add one: A friend stopped by today who hadn't seen me in several weeks and told me that not only did I look fantastic, she didn't think I needed to lose any more weight! When I told her I'd like to lose 70-90 more pounds she said I was out of my mind. (OK, she was being kind, and I don't think average-size people have any idea what 200-300 pounds really look like, but still. . .) People at work have been paying me compliments. Even my mother, who together with my late father hounded me about my weight since childhood, said I looked good. I know I've barely started this weight-loss journey, but it sure is great to know other people are noticing what I've been obsessing about!

owww what a looovely family!!! and you all look so happy!! im so happy for you Diane! thats a huge NSV i was with my mom yesterday and i did pedicure and skin pilling for her :nono: i love being her slave! she deserves it!
  20. Before I tell you all my NSV, I thought I'd explain something here for those who don't know me. I grew up in a very wonderful, happy but unusual home. I am not ashamed it of at all, I am very proud!! However, I get a lot of people who can't believe it because it is too uncommon. I have 9 sisters & 1 brother. Yes, that number was a 9!! My sisters are all my best friends & we get along great. My mother was a person who just loved kids. (And yes, I promise my 1 brother is very normal. He had 9 maids who waited on him hand & foot!) Every Mother's Day Weekend, my Mother & all my sisters go to a resort, hang out, get manicures, pedicures, EAT & have a blast. No husbands, no kids....just girls!! We just returned & it was so much fun. For the past 6-7 years I have been the biggest one in my family. Every year I was so concerned about our next meal, what our Snacks were going to be when we could stop & get a Diet Coke. This year I could care less about the food & I am now one of the smallest in the family!! :nono: This was HUGE for me!! Here's a picture taken this weekend of my sisters & Mom!! I am the goofy one in the back with curly hair.

    Jeans or a dress?

Years ago, my favorite song to exercise to was "She's a Bad Mama Jama," (even though I didn't then own the words for myself). Now, from the song "Blurred Lines," I love/embrace the words when they say, "You're the hottest bitch in this place!" and "...swag on, even when casual; it's almost unbearable." [A great NSV since surgery is being able to just grab and go when it comes to clothes, so it's easy to do that now]. I agree with jessi...wearing a dress isn't 'trying too hard.' A dress/skit is a normal feminine thing to do...and with less fat, better curves, hey! But do what you'll feel works for you and you won't be self-conscious. If you don't usually wear dresses/skirts (maybe because of the then-weight), it might feel unusual; but I say go for it: a dress and heels. Maybe put on a dress and heels, play some music with a good beat, and dance around your house to see how you feel. In any case, have a good one; and have fun.
  22. 1. I can cross my legs, haven't done that in at least 3yrs. 2. My motorcycle does not burn the crap out of my inner thighs. Cubby thighs to close to the heat. It's all worth being in "Bandster Hell"

    April 2008 Exercise Challenge

TG, Thanks for the advice about iron levels. I go in a few weeks for checkup so i'll get that checked. Today's my hubby birthday so no working out for me. You're having a good week getting your hours in. Congrats on the NSV. I read your thread. That is exciting. I don't like the new format either. I finally figured out how to see the threads I read. For the next two weeks I'll be traveling. Ugh
  24. What a wonderful NSV! Here's to even more...
