    balance is way off

I suffer from balance issues related to an aging hip replacement. I was in no shape to do yoga and I knew I wouldn't stick with something that I struggled to perform. So, when I finally got off my duff to lose the weight, I was very selective with the type of exercise I incorporated. About 10 years ago, I had a friend/trainer who taught us some basic Qigong exercises and I knew the benefits but had trouble following videos. I found a new teacher about 2 years ago and signed up. I've been doing Qigong for 2 years now and have noticed a significant improvement in my balance and my body's overall organization. I walk with ease and don't have any pain. I'm more flexible without all those pretzel-like yoga poses. I would also say that I'm in a better place, mentally. Qigong has made a huge difference in my life and I would recommend it to anyone, regardless of physical fitness. Qigong: (pronounced chee-gong) is a basic Chinese physical and breathing practice that some consider the foundation of TaiChi. It has roots in Chinese medicine and is for healing and well-being.

    balance is way off

Oh no, I fall enough as it is! I have been falling for a couple years, when I was in for my surgery the nurses kept asking me how I got the injury to my leg, seemed like they didn't believe me. As for Vertigo, I get it a few times a year for the past 10 years. It is no fun!

Not Running to Food for Coping

You should join us over on the Doing The Headwork thread in the main lobby! Start on Page 1! I do a combination of things depending on the situation. 1. Deep breathing (4 square breathing - google it). 2. Relaxation Meditation (5-10 minutes worth) 3. Self talk with dialogues that discuss hunger and how hunger cues to eat pass after 10-20 minutes and get quieter and quieter and pass easier the more times you do not respond to the message to eat. 4. Walk or run. 5. Process the thought, and the feeling/emotion that it elicits. 6. Eat anyway (cuz you know, we're all human and sometimes you fall down. But, you get back up and try something different next time to change the tapes.)

8weeks post op and need food ideas

juice has a lot of sugar in it, but you can buy things like cranberry beverages that have something like 5% or 10% juice that are low in sugar and five calories. Ocean Spray makes them - as do one or two other companies. They'd be in the juice section of the store. I also drink a lot of flavored waters, like Bai. And then there's Crystal Light...

    September Sleevers???

I had my Gastric Sleeve on September 24, 2019.
  6. Hello, I’m Jenny. I’m 38 years old, married to a wonderful and supportive guy, and a mother to two great kids. I had the sleeve done on Monday December 2nd with one overnight hospital stay. I went home on oxygen for when I’m at rest because of the elevation/altitude of where I live, which is near Denver. I’m 5’5” and was 295 pre-op. My goal is to lose 100 pounds and go from there. I have told very few people about my surgery because I don’t want to hear about how I took the easy way out. Nothing else I’ve tried has worked to lose weight and keep it off. This is my second day post-op, and I am very sore. I’m trying to get my fluid intake up and in a good spot, but it’s been hard. My stomach feels like I’ve been kicked a few times and it looks that way in spots where I’ve bruised. I don’t want to discourage anyone from getting their surgery done... I just wanted to write out how I’m doing so far. I hear it gets easier on the 3rd day.

    12/2 surgery people?!

Hello Steve! I was a December 3rd sleever. Hope your surgery has gone well. I'm 35/M/CO. SW: 436 DOS: 399 GW - low 200s. Things have been going surprisingly well for me....pain is manageable (2/3 on a 10 point scale) and I can sip 5oz of water in around 15 minutes. I'm sure the cocktail of painkillers and anti-anxiety meds are contributing...lol. Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using BariatricPal mobile app

    Not losing or gaining

Ok your surgery is 2 days away and you didn’t lose. Are you saying that you did or did not stick to the liquid diet? If you did not, you may want to think about coming clean with your dr. Thing is that diet is to shrink your liver making surgery easier for dr and safer for you. Your profile is blank so no clue what size you are now. Your dr will decide whether safe to move forward of if needs to postpone. This would be your safest bet. If you did stick to diet you should feel that your stomach has shrunk. If you truly did the diet and no weight loss than don’t worry about it. I only lost 8 pounds on my liquid diet and was concerned. My dr told me that he only expects 5-10 pounds loss on the diet. Hiwever, my stomach had gone down quite a bit and I was told afterwards my liver was nice and small. Good luck to you.

    Last Doctor Visit!

Soooo it didn’t go as well as I had hoped but my doctor is still optimistic I will get approved. Here’s to hoping insurance pushes it through and I can get it done in 2019 (not trying to rush the process- just max out my insurance)

    30 months p/o - painful gas

I’m 10 years post op rxy bypass and still have severe gas pains. It’s so bad right now that I couldn’t go to work. The pain comes and goes in time clusters. I’ll be fine for a couple of months and then I’ll suffer every day for a few weeks and then it’ll go away again for a few months. There’s no rhyme or reason to the occurrence and no patterns I can detect. I’m desperate to figure out a solution.

  24. Hi, I had a MGB last Tuesday. They pulled the drain on Wed. night. The incision was fine all week until I showered on Sunday and it started draining again. I just changed the bandage and 10 mins later it's soaked again. I was wondering if anyone else has had this happen? It's the same light red liquid discharge that was coming from the drain when it was in. My stomach feels softer and I don't really have pain, so I think the draining is helping, but I just wanted to ask everyone here while I wait to hear back from my Doc.

    Help!

Lets get all the details - So when did you and the daddy do the wild thing pre - Op and do you need me to have the talk with him about safe Sex? I have a 19 and 16 year old boys so i have had this conversation. This is a scooby doo mystery and i still am going with Invetro fertilization screw up at the hospital. Or maybe the baby daddy paid off a nurse to do it - Somehow i think the baby daddy did it - Kinda like the arson of the she shed! But still think its great news and what a bonus to sleeve surgery. New Thread to start How to Do WLS post op when Knocked up by accident, can you do Pre Natel vitamins and Protien shakes? Its a blessing and great news I am just having some fun with this thread - But i do think the baby daddy had something to do with it!
