  1. Hello there I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.. I've been on shakes a long time no issues with that or yoghurt consistency... Soon as I started this week some solids like healthy slice meat or a tiny 2oz chicken free range burger.. I had to chew a lot.. But as the burger was going down i could literally feel it going down my neck into my stomach felt weird and was Almost like indigestion until it settled in my stomach after about 10 mins but then I had to rush to toilet and some clear liquid came back up my throat with a little foam.. It has happened a few times.. Am I eating too quickly? Should I only have one bite then wait then have the next bite? Rather than just chewing the whole 2oz burger quickly.. I've been doing amazing but until experimenting with solid stuff has not been pleasant... So far I've tried some sliced meat which was ok but still felt weird going down.. The burger made me throw up some clear stuff...Took time to settle in my belly... Had 2 little cherry tomatoes that didn't agree with me at all came straight back up... What am I doing wrong?????? Thank you everyone I'm 6.5 weeks post op.

  3. I bugged my insurance almost on the daily after my surgeons office told me they submitted paper work. I was at work and was going to call on my break when my surgeons office called and told me I was approved, it took about 10 days if I recall. I had a very specific timeline I needed to follow and was able to get in on the date I was dead set on in my head even when I thought it wouldn't happen. Keep your head up, it'll all work out.

    Upset with Me

Time to redouble your efforts to lose those five pounds. Many years ago I lost a lot of weight and I let a five pound gain turn into a 10 pound gain gain then it was a 40 pound gain then before I knew it I had gained 65 pounds and it stayed with me on and off for 17 years. Then I had WLS and lost it. If I go one pound over these days I work hard to lose it and then some. I know from my past experience that any gain can get out of control if I'm not diligent. Hope you get to the place you want to be and I'm hoping you're enjoying the health benefits of weight loss. Enjoy the holidays.
  5. Me too I’m 19 days post op and the thought of food or liquids makes me sick. I can’t even get protein shakes down anymore after a sip or two everything inside starts turning.
  6. I am struggling big time with trying to get down any liquids and food. I stay so nauseated it’s ridiculous. The thought of food makes me sick. I can’t even eat jello anymore it’s like my taste buds are on strike. I sip tiny amounts of liquid and sometimes gag. Seems like the only food I can tolerate on occasion are my refried beans, peanut butter on crisp toast otherwise I don’t eat because of the sickness. Geez Louise I’ve had more issues with this surgery than a little bit and I’m 19 days post-op. Anyone else have/had this issue?
  7. I only ever dumped once and that's because (I realize now ) I had sea salt and that has always made me pretty nauseous even before surgery.... My issue is carbs and sugars. I realize I am an addict and have had to learn to admit that to myself. When i could OMAD (pre surgery) I would eat a gigantic salad and some protein and if i wanted, fries or a cookie and I ate it all pithing an hour or sometimes 4 hours and then didn't eat again until the next day and I lost weight pretty quickly but surgery made it impossible to get in that much food so I can't OMAD anymore. I just cant hit my goals for protein that way. I Miss salad so much. I tried to have one last night and its just all got sin the trash beak again i get full so fast i cant get much in. I miss salads I wish i could have a huge one again bec i miss veggies. For the holidays I always and the baker in my family and everyone expects my baking and i enjoy it. i only do it once a year, so I haven't been able to give it up... and then i snack on the cookie dough and its like a gateway drug to carbs and again my body has zero issue with me eating it (other than gain which is obviously this soon out NOT acceptable). But is drives me nuts that I can eat cookie dough or cookies or (fill in any food) and my body doesnt push back at all. Whats so odd is eating salad or protein or healthy foods i get full in a couple of bites but I ate three cookies and pie for thanksgiving and ice cream and i didnt get stuffed and that was so bizarre it freaked me out. Like how did my body not react to the bulk of food alone? Anyway i digress. i preplanned my food and protein shakes for the day and thats what I intend to stick to. Here is what it looks like B- Protein shake and espresso and collagen- 190 c water with clear protein mixed in throughout the day - 60 cals Lunch - Protein shake- 160c snack - 1 egg (if I need it) - 75 c Dinner- cottage cheese- 160 cal I'll be around 105 Grams of protein, 10 net carbs, 650 calories and I burned over 800 cals at the gym. Day 1 of 21

    Weight Gain

I think it's because the last 10-20lbs is always the most difficult to lose. I also think that it was my first set point from high school and my body thought it needed to settle there and defend that new position. I also know that it happened in the sophomore phase and this is the phase where we notoriously start living life again. So some of it could be that I slacked off in my choices with a greater frequency of "treat" meals when going out? And before, I cooked almost everything at home. So I think it's probably a combination of metabolic stuff + behavior. Also, that chart doesn't look like it, but the line is actually down at the 130-135 level. It looks more like it's 140ish. Here's a close up of it for the last 90 days.

I think this might be a fun topic

I'm six weeks post opp sleeve (10/28). I was told 1/2 cup of food, if I can do it, per meal. I usually don't come close. I had 1 and a half eggs this morning. A light babybell cheese as a snack. about 1/3 cup of tender grilled chicken with a little bit of sauteed veggies. Dinner will probably be more of the chicken, since I got it at the deli by my work - I can get several meals from one serving. Sometimes I have another snack. I get my 64 oz of water in.

    My Plastic Surgery Thread

You know how I said the pain was mild? I take that all back. I just got out of bed for the first time and walked about 10 steps. Holy F*ck that was awful!! As far as the procedure being fast, I agree. He has an extremely muscular PA that IMO gets the operation done quickly, and gives taunt results My other consults were for 8 hour surgeries. They’d only do my lower half, LBL, crescent thigh lift, lipo & BBL It’s also reassuring that several of the nurses and techs at the Care Center have had their relatives go to my surgeon. And others said they are saving up for surgery w my surgeon themselves

    ❄DEC 2019 CHALLENGE❄

Catching up. 5. Let's see, I did guided meditations Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I also did yoga on all of those dates. 6. Have not visited a cafe but did go to a diner on Saturday. 7. Well, today is nice so I have had the window open while driving today. But it was way too cold and wet to do it on the 7th. 8. Pass on writing myself a love letter. 9. I like my current morning routine so I have no plans to create a new one at this time. My morning routine starts with waking up, starting breakfast, showering and getting dressed, eating my breakfast, and then going to the gym. 10. Umm, bath would be a weekend activity when more time is available. Not going to promise to do that right now. I will be doing yoga tonight. B-side questions: I've been struggling with water intake and started drinking more tea and soup to help. It's hard to drink cold liquids when I'm cold. However, I have been doing better lately. I like a lot about myself and I'm not sure which one thing I would choose.

  13. Need help struggling with sweet craving and bread carbs. How is everyone getting thru these cravings. Work (retail) schedule is crazy 10 hours days. Around food entire time. So temptations are there . I do make my meals but feel I’m eating to much or not enough. Drinking water is null and void. Because I just do not like drinking plain water. Need some good tips to get thru and defeat these cravings. Have 10:pounds from goal. Down 60 pounds.
  14. Hi everyone! I had my surgery on November 19 and have been doing well with following the food stages and losing weight. Between my pre-opt diet and the surgery I was down 29 lbs. I’m on stage 3 soft foods and within the last 2 days I have gone up a pound and half. Of course it’s upsetting but is this normal to fluctuate a little or am I doing something wrong?
  15. I was just approved through insurance to revise from band to sleeve and have a low BMI of 32, I weigh 182 and I’m 5’1. My doctor wrote a letter to insurance so I could get approved without having to go through all the nutrition classes. I do have type 2 diabetes but my doctor didn’t include this in the letter. I was approved last year to have the band removed but decided to wait. I have had a lot of issues with the band, like food is always getting stuck and throwing up about 3 times a week and that is with all the fluid being released last December. I also get pain at the port site and a burning sensation. My surgery date is on 12/31 and my pre-op is in 10 days. With the band it was great the first year but these last two years have been horrible. Wishing you the best of luck on your journey.

When can I have some rice? Lol

You have lost only 80 lbs in 10 months? The perception of what is losing weight fast and losing weight slow is really screwed on this board. Or you would have already joined the I've-fallen-of-the-wagon-HEEEEEEEEELP!!!!! crowd already. Your BMI is already as low as 27. So you haven't reached your "goal" (I guess that's reaching this magical BMI of 24.9 and lower) after 10 months. So what? It will take you some weeks more? Big deal.

When can I have some rice? Lol

Ive been able to eat rice, bread and pasta almost as soon as I was given the green light on regular food. I have also only lost 80 pounds in 10 months. I wish now that my team had been more restrictive and banned these things as I might have had a different result. I do feel like a failure seeing other people lose tons of weight much faster than I have. I dont pig out on this stuff but I also have never had the blessing of reduced hunger so I'm hungry every 2 hours. Its just infuriating honestly. I would like to have reached my goal by now. It really sucks that i havent
