  1. I received the call yesterday that my revision from band to DS is approved. I'm completely shocked as I thought it would be a battle for approval since my band took two appeals to get approval. I also keep waiting for them to call me back and say oops, that was another patients approval. It happened so fast. I got an email Tuesday saying that they were going to submit then by Friday got the approval. Can it be real? 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼 My surgeon wanted to schedule me for 7/18/17 but I'll be in the middle of moving so I opted for 8/8/17.

  8. my daughter had the sleeve done in Mexico June 1 2017 she had a great experience said she would go back and have other work done once she loses there weight it was 5500 she spent 2 nights one in the hospital/clinic then they moved her to a 4 star hotel everyone was friendly we are at ease as we had family and friends who had gone down some doing lap band and others doing the sleeve and plastic surgery all had good experiences . She went with Mexico as our insurance denied here . Im considering a revision from Lapband to the sleeve as i have had my bad 10 years and done great9lost 110 lbs) this last year I'm having issues with reflux now have ulcers in stomach and throat and my doc recommends removing my band and my insurance won't cover basically id have to gain all my weight back to get another surgery and its not a guarantee they would cover it .

    Period pain

Hi ladies, I was sleeved 3 weeks ago. 1st period on the horizon. Since we cannot take NSAIDS for a while what are you using instead for those days that cramps are just unbearable? I was taking prescription strength Ibuprofen for the first 2-3 days along with non-traditional remedies. Tylenol just doesn't cut it for me. Tramadol makes me sick. What has been your experience? Thanks!! Band to VSG revision:5/23/17 HW: 315 Pre-op: 294 SW: 283 CW:268.7 GW: 175

    Questions about gallstones

When my gallbladder went bad, I never felt anything like that but I would be sure and tell my DR about it. It is a pain beyond pain when it tries to pass the stones. What happens to most is the stone gets caugt and can't pass. I had my gallbladder removed in 1980 and had my RNY July 2, 2013. My hubby had a failed revision but they took out his gallbladder at the same time. I think more Dr's are just taking them out before they get inflamed. Be sure and mention it at your next appointment. If you get in pain go in before that. Good Luck BTW your weight loss is awesome!!

How long were you off work?

I had a band to sleeve revision on March 6th. I was in the hospital 2 nights due to nausea. I didn't take any pain meds after the first night. I took 11 total days off of work. I probably could've gone back after less than a week. I am an LVT in the emergency department at a specialty veterinary hospital. I was fine on my feet 10 hour shifts. I just didn't lift any dogs over 40 lbs my first 4 weeks (my doc gave me the 40lb limit, I know for most it's less). I think I was in less pain for this sx vs the band. It hurt only when getting up or getting down

    Gastric sleeve 06/19/2017

Many people fly after surgery. Lots of folks go to Mexico and fly home very shortly after their procedure. Just make sure you clear it with your surgeon first. I really wanted to stay close to home right after surgery because of the adjustments I had to make but since this is a revision for you, you know what to expect for the most part. Take care

    Breaking down

I don't know what changed. I'm 7 days post-op from a band to sleeve revision. I've been doing great surgically but came down with bronchitis. Nothing has bothered me with other people eating around me. Pre-op, post-op diets all went/going well. I took a little nap and I just came into the living room with my family and I was hit with the huge smell of food and everyone is eating. I almost fell over it was so strong. I started bawling. I couldn't stop. Weirdest thing. Tearing up now writing this. I sat down and thought "what I have done? I can't be like this and break down like a toddler for the rest of my life." Please tell me I'm normal and it will pass. I want this. I've worked so hard for this. But I broke down today and that's not normal. I'm still sticking to my water, broth, and nebulizer for now. Thanks for letting me vent.

    Gastric sleeve 06/19/2017

So I'm scheduled to have my revision on June 19th from the band to the gastric sleeve and I wanted to see if anybody traveled after they had theirs. I'm supposed to be flying out of town on June 26th for a family reunion and I guess I want to get a feel of how you guys felt after your surgery. I'm thinking I might be OK by then but I really have no idea so I would love to hear your stories please. Sent from my SM-G925P using BariatricPal mobile app
  15. I had RNY because of GERD, but it wasn't a conversion (it was my original surgery). Cured it. There are a lot of people who've had this revision because of reflux, though - I'm hoping some will see and respond to your message.

    Weight loss

  18. I just had my revision from sleeve to bypass. I only had to take the pre op but class. Then surgery 3 weeks later. It all depends on your Dr. and my revision was for the same reasons. Good luck.
  19. I had lap band. It slipped and could not go back into place. It eroded and I had to have revision too much scarring. In 2009 I was so scared and elected band. I've not had one complication after bypass and am kicking myself that I didn't do that surgery first. I was miserable w band. Never was restricted if I was too tight I would regurgitate in sleep. Sorry just my story. I went in so often to take fluid in and out regardless of what you do make sure you choose surgeon near by. Sent from my XT1254 using BariatricPal mobile app
  20. I hope you are doing well Wendy. I bet you are happy to have the evil Lapband gone! Mine has caused a lot of problems and I can't wait to have it yanked! My BMI is 30 my revision to RNY is scheduled for July 5th. I could not be sleeves because of GERD. Nervous! [emoji32]
  21. I'm 6 days post-op from a band to sleeve revision in Mexico with Dr Gutierrez. I had the band for 1 1/2 years. Same thing happened to me. Which is nothing. By one year it was completely full but I felt no restrictions. Ever. I lost about 25 pounds out of own will and work. My surgeon wanted to go in and reposition the band up higher on my stomach to shrink the pouch. But that would have cost almost as much as a sleeve surgery. I didn't want to spend another fortune to fix something that may not work again. So we decided on a sleeve. And in Mexico. My surgeon here at home actually recommended Mexico. I feel good. I really feel better after this surgery than the band. I have had no pain, nausea, etc. It's been great really. I know it's still early, but I'm hopeful. 22. I'm 5 days post-op from a band to sleeve revision in Mexico. We flew to San Diego, they picked us up at the airport and went straight to the hospital for blood work and EKG. Then they took us to a really nice hotel and had broth and jello for me. The next morning we went back for surgery. I stayed 2 nights. My husband had to stay at the hotel though. After discharge they took me back to his hotel for 1 night...with broth and jello. The next morning they took us back over the border to the airport and we flew home. We got to San Diego on Wednesday June 7. Surgery on June 8 and we flew home on Sunday June 11. I have no complaints. I was exhausted traveling home but not in pain. I had asked fir wheelchair assistance between gates. The hospital had everything down perfectly and I had no issues at all. No pain, vomiting, nausea, etc. I used Dr Gutierrez with Mexico Bariatric Center. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using BariatricPal mobile app

    If it's God's will...

I wanted to check on you and see how you are doing and how your situatuon has turned out? Sometimes I think God is moving all His puzzle pieces around to fit just perfect. We cant see the big picture. Only our piece of the puzzle. I'm 5 days post-op from a band to sleeve revision. I did the surgery in Mexico. If you have questions, let me know. Happy to help. 24. Walk walk walk! It sounds stupid and everyone says it! I flew 3 days post-op. Not painful but exhausting. Wear compression socks and move your feet around. I walked so much in the hospital and didn't have any gas pain! I had a band 1 1/2 years ago and the gas pain was the worst pain I had ever felt. So I walked and 2alked and walked. Worked! No gas pain at all. I am not 5 days post-op from a band to sleeve revision. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using BariatricPal mobile app
