I have been posting so long here that I actually thought of my community here before I thought to call a friend, lol. I am married and happily, commitedly so - so please do not take what I am am getting ready to say wrong - he knows and he feels so bad for me too, which just makes it worse. Circumstances came together a few days ago to require an old, dear, special friend to need a place to be for a few days. We had not parted in the best way, so I was very suprised that they called - but they remembered I promised them they would never be without a home if they needed it. I meant it and so for the first time in a very long time we got to see each other. They were just amazed at the way I looked and could not stop talking about how tiny I looked... ...nothing else... ...and they worked out their issue, and are back on their way. I am not even sure what I am trying to say, which is why I am airing it out here, I guess. I am very glad they got to see I was feeling and looking better - and there was some vanity in it - but not in a negative way. Afterwards there was a tremendous sense of let-down. If I can't express it, how can I deal with it? Is there anyone out there that understands this? I am not trying to create a drama-thread, this isn't a jerry Springer thing! I would however, appreciate any insight anyone can provide. It seems to be that I am sad not because I miss my friend or anything - I seem to get this way sometimes now when my weight loss isn't 'fixing' things. I think maybe because I have focused on my surgery and weight loss for twelve months now...???

Per request (LOL)... I've attached pictures from last night's event (I don't know how to make them small.. SORRY)... I had sooo much fun!!! These are my NSVs from last night... My dress is 3 sizes smaller that what I would have purchased in November!! I did not struggle to put on "cheap" pantyhose for the first time in my life!!! I bought them from Walgreens.. 3 bucks!!! Not 20!!! I wore my heels for over 6 hours... (They are too big... they 2" peep toe slings... in the last hole!!) I wasn't dropped off at the door, we parked towards the back of this huge lot and I walked to the place and then to the car afterwards I was complimented all night about my dress and personality... I didn't try to diminish it or find something wrong with myself... Is said Thank You and kept is moving (this is HUGE for me!!) The photographer there told my BFF, "This girl is something else I was okay w/ not choosing to eat what was placed before me.. The conversation and interaction was so engaging, that I literally forgot to eat... (I did have fish and broccoli) I saw my WL doctor, my surgeon and nurse practitioner... They all talked about how good I looked and that I look happy... This encouraged me a lot.. I've been struggling w/ submitting to the journey and not trying to win a race!! It was nice to see a lot of people from my support group.. And to just enjoy the evening... I'm looking forward to next year's Dinner/Dance so I can take plenty of comparison shots!!!! Thanks guys for all of your support and encouragement.. I truly appreciate it!! -

THAT IS A GREAT NSV..non scale victory. Keep going. -
Lol! Same here. The cold weather here is gone (70s right now) but I just HAD to buy a new coat because I am traveling overseas next week. It is the same brand and model than last years, but 2 sizes down AND it won't fit next winter! Like you said this losing weight thing sucks and is costly! Congrats on your intolerable NSV. lol
-
Along with buying new clothes and shoes, I "suffered" through another intolerable NSV yesterday. I took my wedding rings in to be resized since they were almost falling off daily. Resizing from a 7.5 to a 5.5 is gonna cost me $100.00. Waaaaah! This losing weight thing sure sucks! Lol!

Question Of The Day Tuesday
Less of Leslie replied to Lilee84's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
LOL! Where do I start? I will start with my vanity NSVs: I can wear Hi Heels again!!! I shop in the regular sections now, NOT PLUS SIZE ANYMORE! No one mistakes me for being pregnant anymore. My DH complements me all the time! My clothes are so Much cuter! Non vanity: I can see my feet!! I can buckle my shoes, I can paint my toes without struggling. I am an inspiration to members in my family that are now considering VSG. I can move so much more comfortably. I can fit in airline/stadium seats. No more back pain! -

Since I work in the medical field and I am looking for a new job I went to try on some new work scrubs today. Last year before I had my surgery I was wearing a 5X top and a 4X pants. Today when I went to try one some new ones I am sown to an XL pant and top. I think I could get into the L but it would be a little snug sitting down and do not want my junk showing. I have already given most of my old clothes to the homeless shelter here in Des Moines. Feels great.

Great NSV Isn't the change the sleeve makes in our lives amazing!

So... I have had about 4 NSVs in the last week.... Last night I went to the Grand Lux Cafe.. When we were taken to our BOOTH, I just slid right in and my tummy didn't touch the table!!!! (I almost cried!! My best friend was smiling so hard I thought she was gonna have a coronary!!) On Saturday, I was sitting on my sofa and without thinking and much effort.... I crossed my legs!!!!! Comfortably!!! My bariatric center has a yearly celebration of life dinner/dance.. It's tomorrow.. and I haven't been able to wear heels for 2/3 years (and I have over 20 pairs).... anyway, I was like..let me just try these on and see if I can walk in them... Well, I tried on a pair of black 2 inch, brown 3 inch, silver and a few others... I walked around in them for a while without pain, stumbling or anything!!!! Finally, due to a back injury and left side nerve damage, I've walked w/ a very noticeable limp... I happened to look at myself walking down the hall at school today... and it's almost gone!!! This is the best NSV I've had to date!!!! Stay encouraged guys and appreciate every step of this journey to wellness, wholeness and the revelation of a new and improved you!!!
