    Daily Menus for Maintenance

LOL, this is a combination of a couple recipes... INGREDIENTS 1 stick of butter 1/2 cup preferred sweetener (I used a granulated monk fruit erythinol blend. I found it too sweet for my taste the first time around, so I will likely cut this to 1/4 cup the next time). 2 tsp ground ginger 1 tsp ground cinnamon 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg 1/2 tsp ground cloves 1 tsp vanilla extract 2 cups almond flour Pinch of salt * Optional: Extra sweetener to dust on top of cookies * Optional: 3/4 cup chopped up candied ginger * I also will likely add some molasses type sweetener next time as well. DIRECTIONS Preheat oven to 350. Line cookie sheet with parchment paper. Blend together butter, sugar, spices, vanilla, and salt. Add in the almond flour and optional candied ginger until the dough forms together. Roll the dough into 1’ balls. Bake cookies for 8-10 minutes. Take a fork and squash them all down and put back in the oven for another 3-4 minutes. While warm, dust optional sweetener on top of cookies. Allow to cool before eating...if you pick it up before it cools, it will crumble and fall apart.
  2. K, just got a chance to take some before pics of my arms (see below). And here are some background details: 5'2" female, 14 months post op, weight stable +/- 5 lbs for about 7 months. Today's weight 115.7 lbs, 21.2 BMI, 13.7% body fat Procedures, as listed on procedure form: BRACHIOPLASTY (aka Arm Lift) + BILATERAL BREAST REDUCTION REVISION (aka Breast Lift). I am getting the Breast Reduction Revision mostly for the fact that it addresses my excess side boob skin. The actual boob lift aspect of it is just an added bonus. In June 2019, when I booked the procedures, the cost of these two is/was $10,000 CAD (plus 13% taxes), and it includes all costs associated with the procedures, including 2 overnights in a private room.

    Before and After Pics

Day of surgery 8/5/19 VS Pic taken on 11/30/19 Slight difference but I have a long way to go!
  4. Hey all! I was wondering how all my October 2019 people are doing? I'm ok. I pinched a nerve in my neck, so I can't go hard on the exercise, like I'm dying to do, but I'm down 40 lbs since my October 28th surgery, so hey, I'm happy. I've almost lost 100 lbs since I started dieting on my own in July (less than 10 lbs to go). I'm a different person and it's amazing.

    30 min no drinking rule

You really do get used to it. I had a lap band 10 years ago and it was one of their rules, too. It didn't take long to get used to it, and even 10 years later when the band wasn't working I still didn't drink while eating. Now I have a bypass and that was something that was so ingrained it wasn't difficult. You could probably take tiny sips of water, but you'll quickly get used to not drinking during a meal.
  6. They are/were soooooo good. I love all ginger cookies: gingerbread, snaps, regular, etc. And yeah, 38 (or 52) cals per cookie. Sweetness aside (which I will address the next time I make them), these are probably my faves, crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. I made 40 in total, and there are 10 left in the pantry as of this morning. Though the Kid packed 15 of them to bring to school to share with friends.

    Daily Menus for Maintenance

Great googley moogley. Your menus sound delish!! I'm in WLM at the top of my window. I honestly don't know how it happened. I made sugar free protein jello (and ate a crap ton of it leftover from a party with my support group), and that's really the only thing "bad". I had 1/2 a peach glaze (sugar) chicken leg and a large tortellini at the party. Sooo, dunno. Must be out of ketosis is all I can think of. Not too concerned but eating my clean M-Th diet. No F#$ckin BMI Way

Yup! To me I'm happy with what I've lost so far. I'm off all my pills, off my CPAP and more, all in less than 2 months. I'm going to hit a weight where I think I look good, I'm happy with my clothes and all the ancillary stuff and then I'll stop. I may go 10-15 pounds under that weight, just for some cushion as I figure I'll gain a bit as I learn maintenance mode.
  12. Very happy to report that I've hit my 2019 milestone goal and dropped under 200 this weekend for the first time since my 20s. Next milestone is to get under 180 (my surgeon's goal for me) and out of the obese category! (Haven't seen that weight since my teens.) I hope the rest of you are doing well. I know the holidays can be a challenge with food, so wishing everyone lots of luck! ❤️

    Daily Menus for Maintenance

Yesterday, Sunday, Dec. 15 Maintenance : 5'2" / 1yr PO Sleeve / 115.3 lbs ---------------------------------------- I ate lots of candy and cookies and pistachios yesterday, and generally was eating every couple hours! I consciously chose to eat every single bite. And I enjoyed it. Don't judge me! Reflection Time: I find it interesting that when I eat foods that are not "on plan" (or just larger than normal amounts of food), I feel the need to point it out and let you know that I know it's off-plan, or that it's alot of food. Like I have to justify my food choices to the masses or something. I don't want to feel that I have do that anymore...am now working on it. ---------------------------------------- 10:30am - Coffee-Tea-Cayenne w/ stevia 12:30pm - Steak Bene (2 oz sirloin steak + 1.5 poached eggs w/ hollandaise + 1/4 cup cubed melons + 1/8 cup spring mix w/ mango dressing + 1/2 slice bacon + 1/4 of a breakfast sausage + 3 assorted deluxe Christmas gift box cookies 3:00pm - salad w/ vinaigrette + 1 slice bacon + 1/2 tbsp parm cheese + 1 fried egg in avocado oil + 1/2 slice pecan pie + 1 tbsp whipped cream + 1/2 tbsp caramel sauce 5:00pm - 1/4 cup cottage cheese + 1/2 fl oz pumpkin seeds + 1 tbsp dried cranberries + 1 tbsp sliced almonds + 2 oz blueberries 8:00pm - salad w/ vinaigrette + 1/2 an avocado + 1/4 cup tuna salad (tuna + mayo + celery + spices) + 1/2 cup oven roasted cauliflower + 1/8 cup crispy fried onions + 1/2 cup shelled pistachios + 4 assorted deluxe Christmas gift box cookies + 3 oz candied ginger 10:00pm - 1:30am - 4 oz candied ginger + 1.5 cups shelled pistachios + 1 Kinder Advent Calendar mini egg. ---------------------------------------- Totals: 2975 cals - 82g Protein - 351g NET carbs - 140g fat

Acid reflux is seriously a pain!!

Are we allowed baking soda? A teaspoon in warm water is what I used to chug down for heartburn pre-op, you'll belch like crazy but it'll be gone in 10 mins.
  15. This is the results or the information you entered: Height: 6 feet, 2 inches Weight: 245 pounds Your BMI is 31.5, indicating your weight is in the Obese category for adults of your height. For your height, a normal weight range would be from 144 to 194 pounds. People who are overweight or obese are at higher risk for chronic conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, and high cholesterol. Anyone who is overweight should try to avoid gaining additional weight. 17. I had surgery on 12/9/19. So 7 days out and I am experiencing higher than normal blood pressure. Never stopped my medicine. Anyone have this happen? I thought it would help lower it. I have an email into my doctor but they won’t open until tomorrow.
  18. I will be 4 weeks out on Monday 12/16 with the 18th being the official one month postop day. I'm still experiencing some discomfort on my right side where my sleeve was done. Sometimes there is mild pain. Even though I take my vitamin and drink karma water, I still get tired quickly. My 4 week postop appointment is Tuesday so I can't wait to see what the doctor has to say. I am down three bra sizes and can wear at least one pair of my size 10 pants. I haven't tried any others yet but it's progress nonetheless.

    I can gulp

Okay so plain water was always easy for me to get down. I could gulp down 4-6 ounces all at once just a few weeks post-op as long as I hadn’t had any food within 2 hours. Now at 10 months out, I can gulp down about 10-12 ounces all in one go ( there is some slight pain a few seconds after), but the food restriction is still very much present

I thought I wasn't losing any weight either because the scale is NOT MOVING!!!!! Well I went to the closet to figure out what I could wear to church and low and behold I was able to get these hips in a pair of size 10s. I couldn't believe it, and a new bra I recently bought size 38DD was too big to wear. I'm back in my 34DDs. Woohoo!!!!! I'm losing inches smh

    work after surgery

Going to be a slow go - I would say at most 10 days. Make sure you move and move around a ton right after surgery, It gets better every day! Its the law for medical leave so try and shorten your shifts down a little to 5 hours may be a lot easier, but wait to you see how easy 8 will be when you drop a 100 pounds
  23. Ok for those of you who love soup and are leaning towards liquids time to buy yourself base! I have been using this commercial product even prior to WLS - As a chef this is the best you can get, the product is good and you will be happy! I just ordered this and I will tell you it will last you all year, Hint when you buy the boxes or cans of broth they have a ton of enhancements in them and chemicals. It is not hard to make soup so use this instead - Healthy and Happy! This will make about a 55 gallon drum of soup broth. elivery estimate: Wednesday, December 18, 2019 by 9pm Minor's Ham Base Gluten Free No Added MSG 16 Ounce Sold by: JJFoeveo $15.00 Buy it again Minor's Beef Base, Instant Stock, Great for Soups and Sauces, 0 Trans Fat, 16 oz Bulk Container Sold by: Amazon.com Services, Inc $13.24 Buy it again Minor's Sauteed Vegetable Base, Mirepoix, Vegetable Stock, Gluten-Free, 16 oz Sold by: Amazon.com Services, Inc $9.99 Buy it again Delivery estimate: Wednesday, December 18, 2019 by 9pm Minor's Bacon Base, 16 Ounce Sold by: JJFoeveo $14.24 Buy it again Minor's Chicken Base, Chicken Stock, No Added MSG, Zero Trans Fat, Poultry Flavor, 16 oz Sold by: Amazon.com Services, Inc $12.33 Buy it again

    Dehydrated

Reduce that coffee, it is a diuretic so will make you go to the loo more. So even though your water intake isn't bad all the coffee will help flush it out. It is why my team say to get off the coffee, I have no more than 300ml over an entire day (10 fl oz).
