  2. favoredone

    Nsv....

I haven't worn heels to church in over 2 years.... I wore them all day today!!!!
  3. My jeans are to big already! And I went to Walmart...just looking around in the clothes to see what's out there for when I need to buy a few staples...and I found this really cute black and white printed maxi dress in a size 22/24...only one they had. So I bought it. Came home, tried it on..just to see how much more I needed to lose for it to fit...and holy balls it fits!!!!! Have to wear a smoothing garment under it...but it fits!!!!
  4. Missus.... you've always been a star in my eyes... this is a fab NSV though... and no one deserves it more than you!!! Hugs from across the pond my lovely friend! x
  5. I weighed 222 on surgery day - so during surgery and the 2 days in the hospital the IV fluids managed to allow me to gain 6 lbs. Lost 4 of them in days 3 and 4 post op - days 4 and 5 have not seen the scale move. But I'm sure I am not done yet! NSV's - 1) Have not taken any diabetes medications since two days before surgery (I was on 3) 2) Have not taken any high blood pressure medications since one day before surgery (I was on 2) Pretty sure the high blood pressure medications are done. Not sure if the diabetes medications are gone forever, but my numbers are really good and I do believe that once I start eating real food again and exercising at a deeper level, those medications are history too!! Those were two of the main reasons I had the surgery in the first place so it is already winning BIG in my humble opinion!!
  6. Cludgie... I think this is two NSV... the first one is the weight one... and double yey there... but the second is to actually get a physio appointment! (I'm still waiting to hear about mine)! Be nice if mine was an adonis too... I probably won't be so lucky...hang on that is three NSVs...lol!! =]

  15. stalls last as long as they last. Start really looking for the NSVs. Are your clothes looser, do you have more stamina? It will break and you will continue to lose as long as you stay on plan. Good luck!

    NSV shout outs

I have been doing a LOT of shopping online lately for new clothes because nothing in my closet fit any more. I ordered all size 6 in pant and dress sizes and size small in tops. The clothes all arrived this week and everything fit! I mean everything! And not only that, one skirt was a size small and it was too big! I laid out a pair of pants on the bed today and when I glanced over I couldn't believe how tiny they looked. WOW! The old (big) me can not believe my newest NSV - my mind needs to catch up with my new body...
  17. Omg I was sleeved a month and 2 days ago. I suffered from amenorrhea (no periods)due to PCOS. Guess Who came this morning after years being MIA? Aunt flow! I know it sounds silly but I am so excited! My pipes work! Thanks to the sleeve!!

    Not Sure

Hi Karen! First of all congrats on your weight loss! We have to remember we didn't gain the weight over night and its not going to come off that way either. I say that with the admission that I was weighing myself almost 5 times a day at first! My poor scale I ONLY weigh myself in the morning now in just bra/underwear. Also, I was stuck for a few days, teetering up and down a pound or two then it came off all of the sudden. You have to look at NSV's too. How are your clothes fitting? How are you feeling? In regards to protein shakes, my surgeon agrees with your PCP- most of the protein should be derived from solid foods. I maybe have 1-2 protein shakes per week and I find it is more at late afternoon right when I get home from work I'm starving! So I'll just do a protein shake instead. You should also notice a difference with each fill. I got my second fill 3/8 and notice a difference already. Just to warn you though, after each fill it seems like its a miracle, but then as I'm "needing" another fill (around 4 weeks) I've noticed I could eat a horse. My surgeon said that once we hit "the sweet spot" with fills, I shouldn't feel like that anymore. Mags
  19. Paola, That's a wonderful NSV! Congrats to you!!
  20. Great nsv and I wish you a speedy recovery! Sent from my iPhone using VST
  21. Ok, so after a fairly dramatic fall down the stairs back in December (skinned knees, 1 broken toe and torn rotator cuff - ouch!), I FINALLY got my 1st physio appointment yesterday. I arrive, and to my horror the physio is like an adonis (who I have to be undressed in front of - eek!). So I'm blushing away, and he starts to run through the standard questions; ethnicity, religion, allergies, height, WEIGHT! Immediately I think, oh no, what should I round it down to (I've never answered that question without knocking at least a stone off the real answer)??? Then after a moment of hesitation, I realised I didn't have to lie. The truth is fine!!! This NSV felt quite daunting, but I loved it! x
  22. I tied my own shoes today. Some of you will know what a big deal that is :)#NSV #wls #weightlosssurgery #diet

  23. I was starting to wonder if this day would ever come. I have reached my goal of 199 lbs. after 9.5 months. I did not think in a million years I would be in onederland once again. I have lost a total of 116 lbs and I am in better health now than when I was in my early twenties. My blood sugar has been normal since my surgery and all my blood numbers are in the normal range including my cholesterol which is 160. My blood pressure is normal and I take no medication of any kind. This is a NSV and a Scale victory all wrapped up in one. My sleeve has definately been a life changer for me.

Nsv Is Also A Goodbye :'(

Hmm. My answer to this is in two parts: A year ago I ran across an old friend of mine from high school/college. We had been really close and had lived together for awhile as roommates. After college, life moved us in different directions and we lost contact. Flash forward a few years and we meet up again rather unexpectedly. After the hugs, and the talk about the 'good old days' and where everybody was it got kinda quiet. I kept looking at her and thinking, "Isn't there more? We used to be best friends and now...what?" It was almost like a stranger wearing the face of a friend. After our meeting was over I felt an emotion that I had never felt before- bittersweet. We had been so much a part of each others lives, that it was strange now to realize that things had changed and that you cannot turn back the clock. That there is no magic button that you can hit and everything POOFS and is fixed. Thus, bittersweet; the yearning for things to be other than what they are, the 'what ifs', to have unfulfilled expectations, even though you are happy in your life. I also think that during this journey our focus turns very inward. The striving to lose weight can become the gold at the end of the rainbow, we obsess over every pound and feel euphoria over every NSV. We experience such strong emotions all around the idea of our weight. Yet even when we reach our goals we still have to get up every morning and live the life that we are living. Becoming a size 6 doesn't mean that our lives are automatically exciting, or dashing, or filled with romance. We do not suddenly have amazing jobs that fill our souls with joy and bring a song to our hearts. The weight loss gives us the physical ability to be able to go find that exciting, romantic life but in the end that final step is up to us. I kind of equate it to the metaphor that we have all been prisoners for a very long time and are suddenly granted freedom. The cage doors are open, the wilderness beckons, yet we stand at the doorway looking out at the sun. We are not used to taking that step into a new life. To throw our self into the unknown with only faith to catch us. Changing the outside can be easier than changing the inside. The prison is gone, but the prisoner mentality is still there. Yet we can learn that all we need to do is take that first step. I don't know if I got any of this right or if I totally misunderstood your post. I'm sorry that you are feeling down and I hope that maybe this helped a little bit. Even if it didn't, know that you do have people thinking of you and wishing you well.
