Congrats! That is a huge NSV for your self esteem and for your health!

I had my fat girl devil sitting on my shoulder Friday night but my thinner Angel knocked her off her pedestal. A slight fight took place, but I resisted. My DH had his lapband surgery Friday and we were in the hospital around 10am. I didn't get home until close to 7pm seeing him up in his room and settled in for the night. Friday's were always our pizza nights and and drink or two. Since my routine was totally off all day, although I was good, the old self wanted to be rewarded. Pizza and a drink.... hmmm, Decided to stop at my old haunt, Lane Bryant {yes, I swore I would never go again and plan on cutting my card up soon} but I needed a pr of jeans as my old ones were falling off me. NSV for sure. Bought some cute cropped pants and tops too. On the half hr ride home, decided having the tuna salad I had in fridge and salad to go with it. Passed my favorite pizza place and passed up on the drink which would ultimately have the munchies..... After spending money on new thinner clothes, why sabotage myself? The moral of the story.... I lost another pound the next morning when I woke up! Phew! Dodged that bullet, but know there will be many more to come. Keeping strong.

NSV means non-scale victories. It's important to Celebrate things even when the scale doesn't move, whether its drops in inches, moving down pant sizes, having to move the car seat up closer to the steering wheel, etc. There are several places to get tickers, but most seem to use www.tickerfactory.com. Just go to their website and follow their instructions. Welcome!!

Good job ! I know its an incredible feeling! You have actually achieved a scale and a NSV!

I really really love this thread! I think we tend to save up posts for NSVs and happy things - not that there's anything wrong with that - but it can really make it seem like everyone else is doing great all the time and make a person feel bad. I like to know that little slip-ups are normal! Not as a way to make excuses, but just to know that it's happening to us all, and we can still get back on the wagon and keep losing. I have a hard time trying not to obsess over every "bad" day, and just to keep moving in the right direction. Hearing everyone else's "oops" moments can really take the pressure off and help keep a healthy attitude. Mine is: ate way too much Peanut Butter today...kept going back and having more on these great little rye crackers I found at the health food store. Also plan to have half a slice of pumpkin spice cake for dessert. That also came from the health food store, so it is an "unprocessed" "healthy" version, but I'm not an idiot, it's still got plenty of sugar and carbs!!!! Last weekend wasn't great either, I really do better during the week when my day and meals are structured. Tomorrow is another day - I am 15 pounds from goal and I'm going to get right back on track!

Nsv Sure Does Help With The Healing Process

And what is this "only lost 26lbs"?? - that is a whole lot of weight my dear! It wouldn't be I "only gained 26lbs" would it??? Don't be hard on yourself!! You made a positive decision to change your life and every pound and NSV counts towards that goal to be healthy!! -
NSV= Non scale Victory Crossing your legs again, fitting into public seating -booth, airplane seat, rollercoaster Things like that. Anytime you don't know what we are talking about you should do what you just did and ask.

I've looked around but can't find what this means. Is there a place where I can find the abbreviations used on this site?

3 Weeks Post-Op And A Stall Since Last Week
Neese replied to tamou37's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my stall two weeks out and I thought I was doing something wrong because I has always heard it would be week 3. The stall lasted about 2-3 weeks. I'm week 6 (jan 31 surgery) now and I broke my stall and have been losing a pound every other day--give or take. I've lost about 35 pounds so far. Talk to your NUT maybe they'll have you up your caloric intake. Also Protein and water! Remember NSVs (non scale victories) like being able to walk further or fitting into a shirt better etc! Also, measure yourself! I wish had I done this because when u aren't losing weight you can be losing inches and I obviously was but don't have a record of it. Lastly don't let the scale control you. Pick a certain day and morning time weigh yourself. Don't become obsessed. Happy Sleeving! -
What Are Some Things You Can't Wait For Once You Loose Weight?
Lissa replied to labubakari's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had one of the NSVs at a wedding a couple of weeks ago. I was NOT the biggest person there by a long shot! That felt phenomenal!! -
Although I have no weight change. I have reached and exceeded my goal as far as my dress size. I am definitely in a solid 12W. Can I just say that I have not seen a 12W since I was in 7th grade %%years ago. EXCITED for the little things. This is definitely a NSV....YAY!!! I try to see the happier side of things, since the scale isnt moving and I have had 2 fills. I am definitely seeing the inches melt away. Still happy and excited... :-)

Oh Lawd can I ever relate to the anxiety and sweating! I've avoided being outside or in close quarters for almost three years now. Sweat, get anxious, sweat more, get panicky and embarrassed and bring on the flood. Your NSV gives me hope. Thank you! Sent from my iPad using VST
