    Congratulations. Great NSV!!!

    Plus Size No More!

Congrats Cyndie, I'm right behind you. Had my NSV last Friday night. Had to break down and get a pair of jeans as my size 18 from Lane Bryant were just too big. Went to a consignment shop 1st but no luck. Found a great pair of Seven jeans at Lane Bryant in size 16! I typically have to buy the Right Fit so I don't have to pay a tailor but I broke the bank and went for the Seven jeans as they fit just right. When I get down to a size 14W, I'll put the money out for a tailor to take them in and get more wear out of them. I wore them yesterday and I felt like a million bucks!
  3. Let's share the warm fuzzies and see if we can't get everyone feelin' pretty good! I want to know, what's the most positive experience you've had since getting sleeved? It could be a compliment you've received or an NSV you've never expected... What's one positive experience you've had that has really made you cheese from ear to ear? Here's mine: Friday night I went into the gas station where I used to stop every morning for my coffee and cigarettes. I haven't been in there since New Years when I quit smoking. When Bobby, the gas station owner who I've known for about 5 years, saw me his jaw dropped! He knew me pre-pregnancy when I was a size 14, and has watched me balloon to a size 24 since I got pregnant in 2010. The look of appreciation on his face and his kind words made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside

    Plus Size No More!

Awesome NSV. Congratulations. I was a tight size 26 when I started and am now in a 12-14 top and 16 bottom so I know exactly how you feel. Enjoy
  8. woohoo I remember that NSV for me too Love it!!! Congrats!!
  9. I am so excited with my progress so far. I have just passed my first weightloss goal of 20kg (45lbs). I was banded in November, lost 16kgs by new years and then nothing in January and February. I was tightened at the end of February and since then I have had slow yet steady weightloss. Im still 45.7kg from my final goal though it is such a great feeling knowing that I am on my way. Also, I have bought a few items of clothing over the past month and I have dropped 2 dress sizes, though I still fit into most of my old clothes because I always bought stretchy clothes, though I have a feeling they will onl.y last for another month or two. Another NSV is that finally FINALLY I can wrap myself in a bath towel without showing 15 cm of skin down my side. I have always had to use bath sheets, but not anymore. And I can cross my legs again. YAY!! SOmething that didn't bother me before but now that i can do it again, I feel feminine and free. I guess life is about the simple pleasures. I am exercing a bit more. I walked 7 kms the other day and tomorrow I am going to attempt to cflimb this small mountain near my home. I used to do it all the time but have not been able to make it up there without stopping 20-30 times, which is embarrassing, especially when there are 4-5 year-olds running past you. I am so excited about what my future looks like. Im am so excited about been fit and healthy and being comfotable in my own skin. Another part of making my life better is going back to University. Ill still be working full-time so its going to be hard but I have discovered this inner strength to help me do everything I want to. I am looking forward to getting under 100kg for when I go to Hawaii in September. I think this is a modest goal, secretly I am hoping to get down to 90kg. Anyway, I hope you are achieving your goals in life and weightloss. Stay happy and healthy, Simone.

    I Love Carnivals Now!

I can't wait for the CA State Fair this year! I was always asked... "are you pregnant? You can't ride if your pregnant" AAARRRGH!!! . This year....IT's ON! Great NSV!!
  11. So, just had a really positive NSV this evening when my hubby and I took our two kiddos to the carnival in town. I can ride all the rides without smushing my guts into them and feeling like the restraints would give at any time. I tell you it was really a good feeling to just hop up on the ride, pull the harness down and go! I didn't feel like people were starring at me anymore! Awesome NSV!!! Sent from my iPhone using VST

    Nsv

I am a teacher at a high school. A student who gave me nothing but problems last year walked up to me today and shook my hand. I was like what is that for??? He said I want to say that you have done a good job losing weight and that I was not even sure it was you this year. It felt good to even have the kids recognize my hard work! I teach freshmen, so they do not know what I looked like last year. They think I have always been this size. 24 more pounds to go and I will be to my goal.
  13. Yay! I sent my before/after pictures to Nina, and she asked if they could feature them on Dr. Aceves' website. Pretty flattered - definitely an NSV!

    WTG! Love hearing NSV CONGRATS!
  15. Oh Meg... What a great day... I am sooooooo proud of you, really I am! You are such an inspiration and a lady. You're words are always kind and positive, and for that I thank you! You really do deserve your success... I love your NSV... and to the woman who did it 'hard way'... well, she can JOG ON!!! You take each and every compliment, box them and keep them 'cos, you deserve them all! Well done my friend and congratulations xx
  16. Hello VST gang!! Yay! I've been lurking between 2 and 5 pounds off goal for the last couple of months, and I'm thrilled to report that I'm finally there--and I'm sure about it, since I've been at this number for a few days now with no "bounce" back up! The last coupe of weeks, I've been trying hard to eat more fresh fruits and vegetables, and I think that has made a difference. As you may know from my numerous posts on the subject, I have a really picky sleeve--to this day, I feel like it's pretty tyrannical about what it will and will not allow me to eat, but most of the time, it works out well for my weight loss goals. I do wish I could tolerate certain healthy Proteins (fish and chicken, for instance!), but I now appreciate its inability to tolerate fried foods and sweets, so it all balances out. It was a huge challenge in the beginning to discover what would work--and I still find new foods that my sleeve will or won't tolerate, so I'm still learning. Next steps for me include getting my exercise on--I haven't really gotten into a habit of regular exercise yet, and I fully intend to do that. I am also still experimenting with getting my nutrition optimized and being sure I'm eating as wide a variety of foods as possible, including vegetarian sources of Protein. Now that I'm "at goal," I can see that I want to lose a bit more, although I'm not sure exactly how much; I still have a bit of flab around my middle and on the upper thighs that's not just loose skin--not sure how much of that will go away with exercise! Thanks to all posters on this board who continuously provide support, encouragement, and answers!! I seriously would never have done this if I hadn't been able to read all of your experiences beforehand, and I would have missed out. For me, the sleeve was 100% the right choice. I'm updating my ticker right this second!! Short story: Weight surgery morning 306. Weight today 190. (I'm 6'2", so while 190 looks really high, that's really normal weight.) Size surgery morning 3X-4X, tight 26/28. Size today L, comfortable 12 heading to 10--I pulled off my size 12 Eddie Bauers yesterday without unbuttoning--yay!! Biggest NSV: Being able to work as a conductor without getting all hot and sweaty!! I like that I can now wear elegant concert clothing, work like a fiend, and not end up drenched with sweat. I can hug people after concerts without feeling self-conscious and icky and unfeminine. Oh, and the shoes!!! I can wear cute shoes without my feet hurting!! Worst comment: From a lady at work: Oh, I see you've lost a lot of weight; me, too, but I did it the hard way (followed by me, startled, saying, "Well, congratulations on your success!" and moving quickly away). Best comment: From a female friend/colleague: I was sitting in the audience for your concert, and I was thinking, "Damn, her butt looks great!" (followed by me giving her a big ol' hug).
  17. lito, its your choice whether to tell people or not, but im just a little confused on why you think those people will be less supportive of you for taking control of your weight problem . you worked hard to get where you are now, and obviously had a great group of people who helped you get there, so why would they think less of you or not be supportive of this ? no disrespect intended, im just confused. if anything, they will probably think even better of you because you're taking the bull by the horns and dealing with a problem in a smart, strong ,well thought out way. GOOD FOR YOU !!! addressing a situation in a comfortable, knowledgeable, positive way will generaly get you the same response. if someone has a negative response, its usually because they dont know anything about lap band. i ve had nothing but 100% support, and no negative comments, just a few normal healthy questions, and after i started loosing ..........well, then the nice compliments started and the nsv's. I honestly think you're making the right decision but making yourself stress out over telling people isnt healthy ..........(Save the stress for when your too loose pants start falling off in public..................picture that!) Good luck !!!

    Crying? Really?

hi sleevorama et al - i think we should all have a box of kleenex handy for this roller coaster ride of weight going down. i also get so excited as i can tell in different ways that i am dropping weight. 30 lbs loss for you (or anyone) is absolutely terrific weight loss. Enjoy these loss victories. Any weight loss is wonderful - and a great NSV is putting on a shirt, and realizing it is a little big on you. keep up the great work - kathy

    Non Scale Victory

Congrats to you both! The NSV's are almost better than scale victories, too!
  20. I'm 11 weeks out, I've lost 43 pounds and 2 sizes in tops and 1 size in pants. I had some complications so 13 pounds of that, I had to lose twice. I can do fast paced walking..haven't done in years. I'm sleeping better, more motivated,,etc. You have to look at the little things,,the nsv's (non scale victories) How much have you lost? If your clothes are fitting looser, you are probably losing inches!

    Update And Need Some Advise

yeah 30 pounds that fast is great! but i understand how you say you dont see it but others do. i had a hard time seeing it as well, but when i started seeing it in my clothes falling off, seeing the tendons in my feet and other NSV's it became more real. best wishes on your journey
  22. Hey everyone! Just wanted to share with my favourite nsv with everyone, my first 5k walk is officially under my belt. I came in in under 50 minutes I am very happy with my time, I was actually anticipating being well over an hour but determination kept me going. Its amazing to see from this end how much weight was holding me back.
  23. The best NSV is finding out that your foot is no longer a wide!

    My Latest Nsv

I went to the doctor for migraines , but when the nurse was taking my blood pressure, the cuff didn't pinch me! That is up there with crossing my legs and fitting in a restaurant booth!
