So Surprised!

Woohoo! NSV's are the best weight loss success, even better than scales. Congrats! Karen
2. A much needed topic! Not bad for recent NSVs; *I did my first fun run yesterday * I bought, and fit in a pair of uk 10 (us size 6) jeans - ok so they are stretchy ones, but still... * My neighbor of 9 years saw me at a work do, and after talking for 10 minutes finally realised who I was (her mum tells me she got home and asked " what happened to Claire???") lol * My DH and I had a major fall out yesterday (not good), about a female colleague of his who stalks after him Grr, HOWEVER when we calmed down enough to talk, he apologised, and said he thought I'd know she could never mean anything to me, because he has never looked at anyone else, and thought I might believe in myself now I have achieved such a personal transformation! *I have a photo of my daughter and I, in which I look THIN, seriously, wtf? Not even average, thin! Never expected that in a million years!! I totally <3 my sleeve xx
3. Congrats everybody!! I think this is a good idea, i've noticed that a lot of people seems down recently as well. My most recent NSV was this weekend. I went to my old school and I saw a few people who haven't seen me since before I lost any weight (down 105 now) and they didn't recognize me! That was pretty cool for me
4. Two great NSVs - one: my dietician told me I was by far the most successful sleeve patient he's ever seen. 92% of my excess weight now lost!

5. Two great NSVs - one: my dietician told me I was by far the most successful sleeve patient he's ever seen. 92% of my excess weight now lost! Two: ran my first (and maybe last) 5K yesterday and clocked a respectable 38 minutes. :)

7. I'm looking through the topics today, and it seems like a lot of people are having some tough days lately. I thought maybe we all could take a moment to look at the happiness that our sleeve's have brought us. For me, my energy is through the roof. Well maybe not right at this instant, but I can sustain energy much longer and do SO much more on the weekends. How about you? Share something that has made you so proud of yourself lately?

Great Day!

Gbatman! Have a great trip to Florida! You have earned this in more ways than one. This is a great NSV. Your grand children see you as a role model and want to have loads of fun with you. Keep Rockin!

Great Day!

That's a really great feeling! I've found a lot more energy to start remodeling our cabin. It's going to be a challenge.......... Love these NSV's.
10. A little background - my husband and business partners own a marina and resort here in east Texas. It is 175 acres, and we run around on the property on Kubota vehicles (like tiny pickups). I hadn't been around on the property much since before my surgery - last spring I didn't feel like it right after my surgery - and was really busy on the weekends (I had a full time job that kept me away from the property 12 hours a day). So this spring, things have changed work wise, and I have been running around with my husband over the property. One of our customers came up to us today and said to us "I'm going to tell your wife about this good looking woman you are running around with". I think he was kidding - but it made me feel great to be mistaken as "the other woman", and to be thought good looking enough and thin enough to be "the other woman". THis happen to anyone else after goal? Be mistaken for someone else totally?

So Surprised!

I have read so many posts about nsvs and how good they make you feel....but today, it was my surprise. My daughter insisted on going shopping with me today because yesterday my jeans were literally sliding down my hips. Today she kept picking clothes for me to try on. I used to be a 22 and I kept telling her to pick out things close to that size. Instead, she insisted I try on 18's and guess what? They fit and I looked great in them! I was so surprised, I just couldn't believe it. I came home and began to empty out the 22's in my closet. Everything from winter in that size is now in a bag for the Salvation Army. It was so exciting and so motivating. Thanks to everyone for listening. I am just floating I am so happy!

Couch To 25K!

Good luck! What an awesome accomplishment to look forward to. Plus it is a NSV! I hope to be there one day.
13. Great NSV and I love your exercise plan, too!
14. Ok, so here in the Uk we have a charity called sport relief, and one of their national events is a mile long fun run (tiny, I know). Mid week I decided I had to do it, so my 8 yo and I signed up thursday, yesterday my DH and 4yo son decided to walk it, and make it a family event, and today we did it!! I know its a tiny step, but puffing and panting across that finish line hand in hand with my daughter was the greatest feeling!! 11 mins 50 sec is hardly athletic, but we did it, and in sporting terms it is the only thing I've completed in all of my 32 years! My daughter and I are going to put our names down for a 5k in june, I've been invited by a friend to do another in August, and our local half marathon is September - dare I dream that big??

Frustrated!

You are entering into the "3rd week stall" zone. This is far more common than many think. You are not doing anything wrong, you will need patience at this time. Just keep doing all the right things that you are currently doing, continue to heal and keep getting in all your fluids. The scale will start moving again in time. In the mean time, it might be a good idea to stay off the scale for at least a few weeks. I know, easier said than done, but if it's frustrating you then it's just causing you unnecessary stress that is really unhelpful to your efforts. Please note, stress is a factor when it comes to no weight loss as well. Find other ways to measure success, there are so many. What NSV's have you had already? How many inches have you lost? Are there side by side photos you can create to see the difference? Find other avenues, you will see they really do make you feel a lot better.
16. new NSV=jogging for 25mins straight:)

17. That's a great NSV!! I am really liking clothes shopping these days, although I'm trying to hold out on big purchases until I hit goal or lower.
18. Hi Everyone, I just wanted to give a little update for some who might wonder how it is after being sleeved. I recall, not to long ago wondering how I might feel a month or two out. First let me say, I went to Mexico, had surgery with Dr. Kelly. I lost 12lbs preop (if I recall right lol). Since the time I was sleeved I have lost 25 more lbs. I am tickled. I was on liquids for 2 plus weeks and around the 3rd week I started mushies. About 4 weeks I started soft foods. So far this has been a blessing but my sleeve has tolerated EVERYTHING. I have not ate one thing that has bothered it. I must say that I do pretty much stay by the book. I eat protein first always. I have tried a lot of different foods. I even can eat not huge amounts but never have I ever felt like I was going to be ill. I do feel sometimes that I have had enough. I did take 4 weeks off from work. I am a server at a very high volume restaurant and also clean houses for a living. Very physical work. I have no problems with energy level being low. I get in all my vitimans, protein and liquids. Everything has went almost to smooth. If I did say I have had an issue it is that I continue to deal with constipation ( sorry if TMI). Some NSV's (non scale victories) that I am so happy about are 1) I measured before and then a month after surgery and had lost 14inches total. 2) I went from a 20 tight, probably 22 to a 16 wide easily 3) My husband is lean , no weight issues and now finally after many years I way less than him. YEahhh. He is tall but .... who cares I weigh less. 4) I have been walking atleast 3 miles aday, sometimes twice a day now and have started jogging also. ME JOGGING, CAN NOT BELIEVE IT!!! 5) I can sleep all nite now, I also can sleep lying down, not with a bunch of pillows sitting me up. 6) I can not believe I am going to say this but..... for the first time I feel attractive. It is not how I look but how I feel about myself. I can breath and not huff and puff when I walk. 7) Oh yeah, I can cross my legs...lol. I love this. 8) Okay... I am going to say it kinda.... lol , by choice I have not been getting a lot of sleep. Not only am I happy, my husband is a very happy man these days. Something woke up, my hormones have been screaming. ok I am done.

Nsv

I have been tearing my hair out stalled at 214 lbs. for the past two weeks, but I started trying on clothes last night and I realized that I may need at least some new jeans or capris. I started this journey wearing a size 22, these jeans I bought today are a 16... back atcha scale... This has motivated me to keep eating right and going to the gym and making it happen. Operation Sexy 2012 in Full Effect !!!
20. So, protein shakes aren't working for me too well. They are just too thick. I tried mixing orange whey protein with orange juice but, it was too sweet. So today, I tried something new. I love the iced mocha latte from Dunkin Donuts. I just ordered a medium iced latte, decaf, skim milk, no whipped cream and added a scoop of dutch chocolate IsoPure protein to it. I get in 25 grams of protein and get to sip one of my favorite drinks. This is offically my first NSV!

I agree on the protein shakes. My whole docs office does one in the AM, which is great cause they can recommend what tastes good. I get Premier shakes from SAMs club. Taste like chocolate milk and curbs a sweet tooth. My doc doesnt limit how many but recommends 2-3 if needed. Just ensuring the protein intake is where it should be. I've been using the 30% of weight formula. Something's working cause I just backed comfortably into a pair of JEAN shorts I couldn't even zip last year. Love love love NSV's!

Anyone Else? (Possibly Tmi)

I've noticed this also! I never used to have trouble but now if I sit a certain way my tail bone begins to hurt. I've started to put a little pillow behind my back and I've started watching how I sit. In a way it's sort of a NSV...your new boney butt!

Nsv Ho Roundup!

A little awkward posting on NSV Ho pst since I'm a dude... But anyway! - GETTING hand me downs - taking clothes to goodwill because they are too BIG - Crossing my legs - knee and ankle joints don't hurt so much

Nsv Ho Roundup!

Well, I have NSV 'Ho in my signature, so I think I'm obligated to post here. Best NSV's so far: -Being able to WALK places. Before surgery I had a tough time walking from the front door to the car. Now I walk the length of the mall and back with no issues. -Smaller clothes. 'nuff said there -Finding bones I'd forgotten I had: collar bones, hip bones... -Having a waist. As my friend told me tonight, I'm getting my hourglass shape back. He knew me before I really packed on the weight and he tells me that he sees the change coming quite clearly.
