3 Days Out And A Little Scared
Rico replied to faddiscc4's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hope you feel better. Sometimes gas rises up to your chest and will cause major discomformt .. i know this for a fact because my cousin had the exact same symptoms .. so yes it is normal and it will go away. I strongly recommend you walk longer and more frequently to help with this pain. You are still only 3 days out and everyone deals with the outcome of the surgery differently. Never eat and drink at the same time because it will cause you severe discomfort. Don't worry all the pain will go away and you will be having NSV's which will make you glad you've done the surgery Good luck ! -
Surgery? Overall Summary. Yes Or No?
Rico replied to betterthanbefore's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Its worth every single second of it People talk about the surgery being "life changing" and its very true .. People talk about how happy they are because they are achieving NSV's which is really cool too.. But you need to know that VSG is also a "life saving" procedure. I was on the verge of being a diabetic and have major heart disease but all of that disappeared with VSG. Good luck -
Surgery? Overall Summary. Yes Or No?
Happy Camper replied to betterthanbefore's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes definitely would do it again even after my complication and second surgery.... NSV today actually bought a size 12 jeans...I swear the tag must be wrong. I started at sixe 24 when I started my pre-op diet last Octoer. I have not worn a size 12 (if it is true) in over 25 years...... My loss has really slowed down, but that is okay for now. I am hoping my hair loss will slow down too. smiles everyone -
LOVE LOVE LOVE that NSV!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's a great NSV! I experienced the same thing when attending an NBA basketball game - it was so nice not having to shove my huge a$@ into the seat. One downfall of the weight loss though - I actually notice my tailbone getting a little achy if sitting in a hard seat for too long. Not enough padding. I'll take it though!!

Went to costco today and they had Kenneth Cole dress pants on sale for $20, and Gloria Vanderbilt jeans for $12.99! I bought a size 14 and size 12 in the jeans, and one pair of black pants - I decided to buy size 12 since I have a couple pairs of 16s I can still wear with a belt . . . I figured I'd have to keep the black pants for a while before they would fit. For fun, I tried them on - and they FIT!!! They are just a wee bit snug, but not too bad . . . I'm so excited! The jeans are cut a little different as the 14s fit perfectly right now, but I'm hoping to be into the 12s soon. Now I'm almost thinking I should go back and pick up a pair of the dress pants in a 10 . . . OMG. I can't believe I might be in a size 10 soon!!! I don't think I've worn a size 10 since junior high!!!!! Happy dance!!!

By the way, I went into Lane Bryant yesterday (I couldn't resist) of all the places getting I'm getting smaller it's my least favorite area. Let just say I've lost a couple cup sizes!! But just out of curiosity I tried on the straight leg jeans in a size 14 oh my gosh they went on and buttoned right up.. A little snug but I would have worn them with pride! That's 2-3 sizes smaller per-surgery I could wear 18's but 20's felt better in jeans.. Love those NSV's

Here is my first LBD entry. I haven't worn this dress in 3 years!!! I was super excited and apparently, so was my husband LOL I'm definitely not at goal, but a NSV nontheless -
I'm here, a measley 3 days post-op. Feeling about the same as I did right after band surgery, but with slightly different sensations. This surgery has, knock on wood, been very easy so far - except for an extremely painful allergic reaction to an unknown med(s). One of my incisions is super puckered, like a button tuft. It has completely changed the shape of my stomach. That one hurts a lot. I don't really even notice the others (6 total). Surgery was Tue. morning, I was discharged Wed, spent a few hours early Thu morning in the ER (allergic reaction), but spent the majority of Thu evening out & about, and was out shopping for about 5 hours today. Moving very slowly, though. I don't know what my losses are. My NSV to date is getting rid of the pain from that allergic reaction. Still schlupping around in empire waist dresses (because they don't have waistbands) and flipflops (because button tuck incision makes me walk slightly hunched over, and how stupid would that be with heels), looking about as whiskey tango as I possibly can. Although "easy" this process is a little frustrating. I lived with my lapband so long that I knew its signals and symptoms. Now I don't know what these sensations are telling me. It's kind of hard to be the "noob" again, not yet able to interpret what my body is telling me.

For Anyone Who Wants To Know How Fast The Loss/changes Happen....
Ms skinniness replied to JayhawkJess33's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
CONGRATS! This is a success! I didn't feel like I had really lost weight until the wind started blowing me around. Also I started doing weird things like walking like I was a little intoxicated because I hadn't adjusted to the new body weight or being at work and the pants I wore that fit in the am was so baggy they would almost fall off. I love these NSV's! There are a lot more to come for you guys! It's awesome. Time to dance the happy dance! Where are my banana's? -
I'm proud to announce that I am wearing the same pair of jeans that I wore when I met my husband 7 years ago. I haven't worn them in at least 6 years. They are a size 20, which is still huge, but considering I was in a snug 26, it feels fabulous. The NSV's are so much more rewarding than that number on the scales. My next goal is to get in a size that I don't have stuffed away in a drawer or closet somewhere. Because that means I get to go shopping!!! Not sure what my goal size will be. At 5'4" and a goal weight of 150, I would hope to be in a 8 or 10. I won't know how to act to go hunting sizes like that at the store and actually be able to find them. I'm super excited!!!!!

Oh, that is a great NSV!!! Congrats!! I am so ready to start having these moments!

NSV ALERT! lol I went to Starbucks and you know they have the chairs with the arms outside. Well they used to be so dang uncomfortable because my thighs would be pushing on the sides. Well guess what?! I sat in one and had tons of room on each side! =DDD

I'm right there with ya! Definitely one of my favorite NSVs. -
I'm was pretty stuck on the scales for the entire month of March. I think I'm only going to end up losing right at 5 lbs - which all came off pretty much this week (I was hoping to be closer to 8 lbs down this month). It is what it is, right? Move forward! I started exercising a bit more and incorporate yoga as well as cycling and I love doing both. So I guess those would be my NSV's. Oh, I also started my own YT channel (cjmurphy901) - subscribed to me and watch my journey Still no fill yet for me...ugh!!!! I had my surgery on 1/24 and I have had 2 visits with him and still no fill!!! Hope everyone had a successful month!
