    NSV - I'm a slob!

P'Nut: You just cracked me up!!! Everyone at work kids me about the marks on my shirts in the boob area...I'm gonna look forward to a drop in the lap as well. I never thought of that as a NSV, but it's a GREAT one!!! ha ha Only a bandster would think of that!!! Ya'll are such fun...thanks so much for writing!!! Nanster
  2. Best nsv ever i started at 322 now i am 258 since jan 29 2013, tried on dresses at old navy that FIT and were cute also tried skinny jeans on! Have NEVER fit in any old navy stuff before best nsv!
  3. Please share your BEST NSV (non-scale victory to date)! You must pick only the very best one, even though I know there are lots. And positive answers only please--not that there is such a thing as a negative NSV, but I really need some positivity today and thought this would be fun!

    NSV - I'm a slob!

Great NSV, P'Nut!! :clap2: Wheetsin, I used to call mine "the shelf" as well. They used to be 42DD and have gone down to a 40D. Still somewhat of a shelf but I'm hoping they don't shrink anymore. I'm rather fond of them.
  5. Awesome !!!!!!!! I can say that without question my "most embarrassing NSV" was a pants-on-the-ground moment, too. Ironically, it was when I was bringing in groceries.....had a few bags in each hands.....had climbed the front outsided stairs and made it to the top and then they dropped......all the way down....belt and all. My neighbors and anyone driving by had a crazy sight to greet them. Couldn't be helped. Gotta love the need for smaller clothes.

    NSV-new, smaller clothes!

Great NSV Kim! Yes, I do the same thing too. I fact I had some Jeans I bought before losing weight (I found them in my closet while throwing out the big stuff) and took them back to the store. I traded them for the next size down, so I would have a pair to wear when the ones I am wearing are too big. I put them on to see how long before I fit into them, and they already fit. You DH sounds like a real sweety!

    Mini-victory Today

Congratulations! While the scale victories are nice...these NSV moments are even better! .
  8. My Grandma is like the only "skinny" one in the family and every time I saw her it was like she had to tell me I looked 5 or 10 lbs heavier. One day I wore a dress and my 4 year old asked me if I was a princess, I was flattered even though I knew I didn't look anything like a princess. Next day I wore a shirt and shorts and my son asked me if I was a princess. He grabbed the corner of my shirt and said "No, you're a cow" and even though he's 4 and completely has no idea how that relates to weight or size, it was just the fact that the shirt was black and white that he said that but it really hurt my feelings. I looked in the mirror crying that night just thinking he was right and I had to do something. I'd tried all kinds of diets, phentermine, and was even walking 5 miles a day and the smallest I could get was still a size 16/18 at 203 lbs. I'd now crept up to 230 so I started looking into lapband. I discussed it with my husband who I expected to shoot me down but he was all for it if it made me happy so I was banded on 6/21. This past Wednesday I saw a friend of mine I hadn't seen in about 6 weeks and she noticed--my first NSV! When she asked what I was doing I told her LAPBAND. I don't want to push it on anyone but if they ask I'm more than willing to share!
  9. Yep, I was never a wide until the last couple years as I gained weight. Looking forward to nice high shaft boots- although doing ballet as a child my calves are still over developed so it would be amazing to wear tall boots. We shall see. I'm grateful today. Things get better all the time!

    NSV that made me smile

Hiya Sue, HUUUUGE CONGRATS on this momentous Williams related NSV !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I, as you know, do not scoff at the inspiration of the one and only Williams, he truly has magical powers !!!!!!!!!!!!! Just think, when you got your Tshirt in 1999, you got it for Robbie the boy. In June you will be wrapping yourself in it for ROBBIE THE MAN !!!!!!!! I am a great believer in fate. It must be meant to be that after all these years our boys are back together in the very year that you are able to wear that treasured Tshirt for the first time. Today really is a good day!!!!!! Keep up the great work love and stay positive. Not long to go now, June is just around the corner !!!!!!!!! Love Angela xxx

First NSV & 1st Month Stats!

Awesome stats and NSV! Big difference in your face already! I get sleeved on Tuesday. Posts like this make me more excited and less nervous.
  12. Oh my goodness! I'm so excited I could shout from the roof tops!!!!! I was sleeved 27 days ago and lost 24 lbs in the first two weeks. Since then, I've been in a "stall." No loss on the scale and I was getting pretty discouraged. My DH encouraged me to measure and see what the difference in inches was. Y'all.... I've lost 29 inches!!! I was having trouble seeing the weight/inches lost.... until I did my first photo comparison... Holy Shmolies!!!! My hubby took me out on a date to celebrate (he enjoyed the food, but that isn't fun for me anymore!) After dinner, we went to the movies and we were sitting in the theatre waiting for it to start. I looked down, and MY LEGS WERE CROSSED... COMFORTABLY!!! And my jeans weren't cutting off my circulation... They were baggy!!! Just wanted to share!!!
  13. Such a great NSV! Congrats

What is your most embarrassing NSV?

Isn't it far more embarrassing to wipe without ease? You and @@sbrainwater missed a priceless NSV topic. I think the originator, @@dhrguru, was more embarrassed discussing it than experiencing it. (I'm putting her name in blue so that she's notified that she's being held up as a shining beacon.) I won't reveal anything so that, if you check it out, you'll get the full impact. http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/353620-the-view-from-down-there-a-ladies-room-post/ When I think of one that I can categorize as embarrassing, I'll be back. Welcome to you both.

What is your most embarrassing NSV?

I have a confession, not exactly a NSV, but hear me out. The last, time I was at the Bariatric Clinic I looked around. And yes, most of , if not all, looked over weight. But some v were more misshapen than me. Now I have put myself down, called myself Elephant, clumsy, fat even stupid. Really I am none,of these. And although I am a BIG girl, I do still have a shape. I still can walk, although slowly with a visible limp, there were ladies and a couple guys who were wheelchair bound because their legs no longer will hold them up. And I felt, a little pride I was speaking mine before that happened to me, because in a year,or 2 gaining like I had been, it could have happened. Now I know and I believe with surgery, I stopped the the slide into furthur ill health. But I cried and prayed for each,of them it's not too late for them, that someday they will have NSVs I know I will and it won't be long before I will report some really NSV because, you know now I do believe in me and what I can accomplish.

    Another Size Bites The Dust!

Unexpected NSV is the best. I bet you look great in your new clothes, too! Karen
  19. Surgery is May 18. I start my pre-op diet on April 20 for a four week liquid diet. I've been on a low carb diet per my nutritionists orders since February and I've lost 29 pounds on that so far. I've been getting discouraged because I thought almost 30 pounds would FEEL like something but my clothes don't seem different and I don't feel different. But today I realized my office chair at work isn't digging into my hips because of the arms anymore. I have wiggle room! A small thing. But I feel better now. Any NSV's before surgery for you guys?
  20. This morning my husband forgot his bag at home that contains all of his things for work.. So he called and asked me "How much do you love me?" He's an ER PA so he said just pull up to the ER bay and call, I can run out and meet you. You see he's worked there for going on six years and I've never stepped foot in there because of embarrassment about my weight.. He's never been embarrassed about me but I have. some the nurses and techs tease him about not really having a wife because they have never seen me (no holiday parties for me). Today at 6:15am, fresh out of bed and looking that way! I pulled up to the ER, parked and walked into my husbands work like a normal spouse delivering something to their husband He took me around to meet people and show me his office. NSV? I would say normal life, and it felt good to be "normal" doing the little things you never would of done.

    My first pre-op NSV

Yay! NSV's are wonderful and inspiring. Congrats on your awesome weight loss before surgery! Don't worry about not changing clothing sizes much at this point. Plus size clothes are cut generously and usually have a lot of give in them. Also, I tended to wear my same size clothes even as I gained weight the clothes just gradually stretched with me. I started in a very tight size 22 jeans and it took almost 50 pounds before I was able to get into a size 20 jeans. It took so long because my jeans were so tight prior to surgery and I refused to buy bigger pants because I knew surgery was coming and I wouldn't be wearing them long. Secondly, I carry my weight around my middle which sucks for pants because even though my legs, butt, and arms were losing quickly, my belly and waist line didn't. I was stuck in my baggy jeans until I lost enough in my waist to be able to wear the smaller jeans. Hang in there and you will be dropping sizes soon. Keep up the great work and we will see you on the loser's bench soon!
  22. wow! i am sooooo very sorry that you have gone through this but this is more than a NSV! this is the chance for a whole new life and a healthier life. i too just got out of a long relationship very recent & i invested so much! maybe a good 75% of me & i lost it but atleast i have 25% of me left to possibly invest in someone who is worth it & ill be winning!
  23. Weigh in day again and I'm back in a stall. Hey ho. Am I fed up? Am I despondent? Nope. Not one bit. I have got so many NSVs happening that the fact that the scales aren't budging this week doesn't bother me. I feel great. I look a damn sight better than I did 5 months ago and I have ditched 40lbs of useless flab - so far. I started swimming last week and by Friday I was clocking up half a mile (without stopping) in 35 minutes in the pool. The dogs are getting one to two hours walking per day so they are thrilled with my weight loss and fitness gain. My jeans without belt loops (thus nowhere to anchor a belt) are beginning to slide off my arse and I have to hoik them up, when no-one is looking, when I'm out and about. I can get a beautiful pair of Frye boots on that were too tight around my calves not that long ago. I've bought a couple, or three, new pairs of jeans and can get into two pairs well before I expected to. I've still got a way to go yet but just to be able to see and feel results so quickly is just wonderful. I don't feel that my weight loss is too slow. I am only too aware of how long it took me to put it on and it didn't jump onto me over a matter of weeks that's for sure. I spent fortunes and untold hours at Weight Watchers meetings and although I managed to lose weight it never, ever stayed off. Having the VSG has been one of the best things that I have ever done for myself. I just wish that I had done it sooner. It has given me the mental kick up the rear end that I needed to get my eating habits under control. I'm still learning a new way of approaching food but now I have a physical 'stop' button in the shape (literally) of my sleeve. So, I embrace my stalls because I know that my body is juggling and rearranging it's composite parts during these times.

    Nsv!!!

I went shopping for an outfit last night to wear to a holiday party tonite, for Christmas day and possibly New Years. I went down from a 26/28 or a 3X in pants to an 18/20. I went down from a 30/32 in tops to a 22/24. What I'm upset about....I went from a 44DD to a 44D. My girls are disappearing right before my eyes!! I'm completely traumatized over this. Nevertheless, WOW!! What a good feeling it is to be getting skinny!!

    Lap-Band, the easy way out.

I went through 20 years of starving to lose 40 lbs only to gain back 60, god knows how many times. I'm not one who craves large amounts of junk food and it's now impossible for me to sit down and eat a side of ribs or 2 dozen tamales. By the way I had a major "for me anyway" NSV, well it did involve a scale so anyway? We had our annual YMCA meltdown weigh in today I GOT TO WEIGH IN ON THE REGULAR SCALE WITH EVERYONE ELSE!!! Now I'm psyched. For the last 5 years I've had to use the packing scale in the warehouse with the other fat people. Down side is I'm entering a weight loss competition having just lost 43 lbs in 5 weeks but what the heck it's better than the alternative.
