5 months pregnant- Swimsuit pic NSV of sorts
Tiffykins posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
You know, NSV's don't happen to often for me anymore. Of course, last summer was my first swimsuit purchase and wearing in 20 years, and now here I am 5 months pregnant, rocking the bump, rocking the wrinkly thigh skin, and you know what I could give 2 poops what anyone else thinks of me. I've gained a whopping 10lbs with the pregnancy, and it's all belly. My butt is getting a little rounder, but really, I'm so grateful to be able to live the life I have today ! ! ! I can't count how many messages I receive about loose, wrinkly skin ! ! ! My answer is always the same " YEP, I got it, and you know what , I wouldn't change it for the back fat, and looking like can of Grand's biscuits busting at the seam! ! !" Honestly, who gives a **** about excess skin, and wrinklyness when you aren't slowly dying from obesity. I'm just as vain as the next woman, but let's be realistic, My boobs are deflated, my thighs look like I got beat with a bag of nickels, but I'm healthy, growing another human, and I feel amazing ! ! ! For all of those out there wondering if you should have the sleeve, or what your body is going to look like after surgery, it's a concern, I get it, but it's either live with some loose, wrinkly, flabby skin, or end up in a wooden box from obesity related diseases and conditions. Yeah I live here, it rocks ! ! ! Ohhhhhhh and the big bump ! ! ! I might look like a beached whale to everyone else, but who the hell cares ! ! ! I'm pregnant, wearing a medium regular swimsuit with bikini bottoms ! ! ! NOT a maternity suit either. . . So, ya know what, I'll enjoy every minute of it. I do have to cover up somewhat due to risk of melanoma and must use 50-70 SPF sunscreen so yeah I wear a little netting cover up because I've been picked and prodded so much for skin cancer, and have had more moles removed and sent for path reports than I care to count! ! ! -

Are you eating enough? That could also be a problem. Congrats on your NSVs! -
I think this is one of my fav NSVs...not because it made you cry by the way!! It's because this is what we all need.... support and love from those who mean the most to us. I agree, you must hold on to this feeling; for me it is like a lottery win! Congrats to you and your fella xx

I know the NSV's of the airplane. It is a good feeling to be on a smaller commercial flight and not feel obliged and to discretely tell a stewardess that I will not be offended if they want to set me next to a child or really petite person. Your Mom must have been so proud. Try and remember how she looked when she saw you, and do everything you can to take pictures with her as you continue to loose. Good luck.

If you want to see what I am talking about you can check it out at dagorhir.com ... ...okay, so a MUCH younger me was always doing some sort of martial art - and at about 18 fell in LOVE with armed european swordplay - european martial arts, that sort of thing...so I fought in the SCA and other groups...I loved it and I was really good at it. And then I packed on the weight and I just could not keep up. I lacked the arm reach and I was always injuring myself... Sunday I participated in an event again for the first time, and I KICKED ASS, lol. I was mediocre, actually...but it was the first time in fifteen years, and I won sparring events and survived the meley. You may need to locate a nerd to interperate... I was getting some Water, which is on the otherside of a bamboo wall in the park we were in and I heard one of the more experienced guys (who I almost beat 5/6) say "she hasn't done this is 15 years? really???" you can't see it, but the sun is shining from WITHIN me right now, this - feels - sooo - freakin' - good!

We nerds will take over the world! Very proud of your NSV!!

Today marks thirty days since my surgery, four weeks and two days. My husband and I went out to eat for the first time in over a month, and it was a success! I was a little worried about a negative reaction, but was feeling OK since I haven't had any problems at home this past week introducing "early solid foods." We went out for sushi and I ordered a miso Soup which I've been making at home, familiar territory. Then I was about to very slowly, but wonderfully eat three 1oz pieces of sashimi (sake and maguro) dipped in low-sodium soy sauce. HEAVEN! I took very small bites, chewed so thoroughly, and patiently waited between bites to check in with my belly for the full signal. The taste was amazing, so nice to have something my taste buds remember from before surgery. I felt like I could have gone for a fourth piece, but didn't want to push it. It was hard to not dive into the roll my husband got, but I kept staring at the rice like it was a sworn enemy. I did allow myself a small bite of the unagi he ordered for "desert" It was so nice to feel normal again. And I have to say, I loved my sleeve for doing it's job tonight...

Great NSV's! My most recent was my husband telling me that it was time to get rid of my jeans because by A@# had disappeared in the ones I was wearing. LOL

LOL!! I am hoping later down the road to be able to see my collarbones... I swear I have never seen them, ever. That is going to be a huge NSV for me if it happens. -

Awesome, NSV! I am down to 36 dd. They measure me at 34 c, but I find they squash my flabby boobs, 36 dd makes the most of the flab without me falling out!(from 2 kids, 100 lbs, and 64 years of age).

This little girl made my day! I am a manager at a 'tween' girl clothing store. As I was helping this sweet, 11 year-old, she said to me, "I like your shirt! Did you get it here!" I just smiled and said, "No Honey, but you're sweet to think I can wear these sizes!"

Awesome! That's the kind of thing I'm really looking forward to after surgery. I'm more excited about the NSVs than the SVs! :-)

I'm fairly sure most of y'all can relate so I thought I'd share this weird NSV. Today, we were running around the house, getting ready for my husband's orthodontic consult, we're also buying a house, and our home that we rent is on the market so the listing agent showed up unexpectedly without notice, just pissing me, and making my crazy, pregnant hormonal self all in a rage. Anyway, so in the craziness, I threw on some clothes, and forgot deodorant. You're thinking big deal, right? Well, the issue is we live in hot/muggy Florida. The thermometer in my truck said 90 degrees. I got in, started backing out of the driveway, and realized "Crap, no deodorant". My husband was like "great, stinky winky at the dentist". Best advantage to not being fat is I didn't sweat or get sweaty/icky in the underarm department ! ! ! Pre-op weight would have had me sweating profusely, and stinking to high heaven within 10 minutes. We were outside all afternoon, walking around, picking up pine cones in our yard, and not once did I sweat or get stinky ! ! !
