  1. Tonight I completed my first Yoga class!!! 1 hour and 45 minutes of amazing energy, relaxation and stretching- I even "impressed" the instructior- She assumed I would not be flexible o limber but I am very (thanks to Zumba) and I am so proud of myself.....
  2. This is a great NSV, especially because it's so difficult to believe that our skin is ever going to tighten even a bit, hooray!!!!!!!!!
  3. Happy 3 wks!! How's everyone doing? I'm finally getting over the sheer exhaustion I was feeling over wk 2 and am oddly ok with the pureed food. Had a NSV (Non scale Victory) today-I bought boots at DSW! They are wide calf still, but they fit!! I went to one of the plus size stores to find boots, as usual, and they were all too big. I didn't think I had lost any inches on my legs but I will take it! Bought TWO pairs!! How's everyone doing?

    Nsv!

I had another fill on Wednesday and met with my nutritionist, too, for my 6 month post-op check-in. Guess what?! I've lost inches! She weighed and measured me and showed me the difference in my measurements from a week before I had surgery and my measurements now. Eee! I'm still at the point where I can barely see the weight-loss in the mirror, so actually seeing how many inches I'd lost was such a motivator! I don't actually remember the exact inches lost (stupid me, forgot to write them down), but it was something like 9 inches off my chest, 5 off my waist, and 6 off my hips. That, combined with the fact that I'm about to go down another size in clothes, REALLY helps.
  6. HI everyone, I just wanted to share these few pictures..they made me realize what a difference!! from size 24 to 16!!!

    Another NSV

I had a very similar NSV too! Kept messing with the seat every time I got in, getting frustrated till I realized the seat wasn't moved...I had moved! It's also fun to check out the seatbelt...look for the hamburger dripping stains, ya know, where it hits you across the chest? That moves too as you shrink. You have to check it before you readjust the seat though, or you can't tell how much the stain has moved. Do you have that seatbelt stain, too? Great NSV! Gotta love it!

    Today I saw my........

Awesome NSV! I can't wait to say the samething...about the toes anyway!
  9. Okay - I think we need an NSV thread in this room....I'll be 1st :smile2: So - it's Saturday and the kids are at the neighbors playing for a couple of hours. You know what that means? A little "alone" time with DH... Well - he is so excited because he hasn't really been able to get it lately. Post revision surgery (had to take things easy), then my monthly visitor has to rear her ugly head. Well, anyway he is excited. Clothes start flying, hands start roaming and he stops and looks at my body. Something he has never done (his eyes usually divert). He mumbles, "I love your body". "I love your body."...WOW! I've never heard that - ever. I think we all dream of hearing it, even though we're fat cows. He's always said, "you're sexy" or something similar (like it had to be said)...but never so heated and honest. I started crying I was so happy.

    I crossed my legs today

I'm smiling from ear to ear!! I do type on my pc with my legs crossed...lol! I cross my legs on the train when I can see myself in the window so I can stare at them. This is a great NSV and I'm happy happy happy for you my friend!
  11. Only here will people understand. I was actually afraid to try it until today. I have not crossed my legs the "dainty" way in many years. I joined the century club this week, and decided it was time to try crossing my legs in a chair. I was afraid that my belly would still be in the way. It was irrational and fear based. Today I decided to go for it at work in my cube. I crossed my right leg over my left and it worked. I crossed my left leg over my right and it worked. If I could type on my PC this way, I'd do it all day long. Crossing my legs is my new favorite activity. Happy NSVs to us all!
  12. Looking great! I should do side by sides too. I have had a NSV (size 18 to 14 squee!) but I feel like its not that noticable. Not a single person has commented!
  13. I did an early morning sweep of all my pants today. I took all my size 20 pants and rotated them out of my closet and into a bin to go to the shelter I volunteer at and/or the consignment shop. I have lost 30.8 pounds and have gone from a snug 20W to a very loose 18W. Fortunately, I work from home and when I am out, I am business casual. My daily outfit consists of either khaki or black trousers or trouser capris and I have them down to a size 16R so I don't need to buy anything yet. I did not do the tops because I have tremendous ta-tas and I can still wear most of the tops, even if they look a little balloonish. Have you started yet, Laura? Don't make me show you up.
  14. thankful- welcome! congrats on your 30lbs weight loss. thats great. do you or have you tried logging your calories? i was amazed when i started doing that. what i thought wasnt much, and it wasnt as much as i ate before, still held a large amount of calories! and all the "not much" things added up. you might try that. thedailyplate.com is the one i use. you can log your exercise as well. you might try that? bandster-- did you get some sleep? i sleep so much better when my dh is home too. he works a week on and a week off. you would think after 4 years of this i would be used to it, and i guess i kind of am, but i still sleep better when he is home. i have been doing just a crap job of eating well! i have to get things under control or i am going to be sorry. oh! i have to share my nsv! so we took the kids to the Water park and i was ok! not worried about how i looked in my suit all the time. of course a few times i started to freak a little, you know, when the barbies walked by with their itsy bitsie bikinis on. or when my dh described this girl with "you know, the big tits that just walked by"....nice! and there i stand with my little girls carefully rolled up and stuffed into my suit. damn woman! but by and by it was a great day. i felt great. it was amazing to be feel that way. first time in forever!

    A Size 16 NSV

Congratulations on a great NSV and being able to shop for a normal size.
  17. Hey y'all! We've got to get this thread going again! I'm following the other July threads, but those sleevers are weeks behind us! I'LL START 5' 4" 29 yrs. SW: 277 CW: 253 I've dropped 24 lbs since 7/1 and haven't lost an ounce in 2 weeks!!! I think it's because I'm only getting ~32oz of fluids a day. :-/ Must increase! However, I measured and have lost 29 inches from my body!!! HALLELUJAH!!!!!! I'm worried about my caloric intake because my NUT told me minimum of 1000, but that's seems waaaaay to much. So I set my own goal of 500-600. I'm trying to figure how to break this stall!!!! Yesterday, I had my first NSV and got to scratch an item off my "Skinny Bucket List"... I crossed my legs comfortably and I didn't even know I was doing it! I just looked down and my legs were crossed and my pants were baggy! This encouraged me to compare pics... And HOLY SHMOLIES.... The difference in unbelievable!!! I've already lost my neck and a few chins!!! Tell us... We all need the encouragement in knowing we are not alone!!! Who better to talk to than the July 1 Sleevers!!!! What are your week 4 stats? How much are you eating? Calorie range? Have you stalled, yet? Any NSV's? Who can actually drink 64 oz?!?!?!? What kind if exercising are you doing? Pictures?
  18. Thanks so much! Biggest benefit is definitely the way I'm able to move, run up a flight of stairs, carry in groceries without huffing and puffing. Basically the things that non-obese people take for granted! Favorite snack is greek yogurt, esp Dannon light n' fit caramel apple pie. Best NSV is hard, b/c there have been so many. I would choose buying clothes off the clearance rack. The reason being is that clearance rack clothes always seem to be size S or XS. Now I'm small enough to get the great deals! LOL!
  19. Kindle: thanks for this thread! I do not currently own a scale, just weighing in at the doctors when I go. I was one month out yesterday, and I have been amazed this last week at how much I can function normally without being out of breath and sweaty at work( I teach at a LARGE high school). I have a long way to go, but feeling normal within my work environment is a great feeling. BTW, I have more than 200 pounds still to lose, so looking forward to lots of NSVs to come!

    Have To Brag!

Wow! Don't you just LOVE surprises like that? You thought it was a FUTURE NSV and it was today's! Happy Sunday! Keep up the great work!

    My first NSV

that's so cool to hear. I'm actually going for ALL NSVs. scales are unreliable at best...and unlike many others, I don't rely on numbers to see my progress. For me, my NSVs will be decrease in pants size and ease of mobility. Since I can't get on a weight scale, I'll have to keep track of progress pictures. Congrats!!
  22. I recently went on vacation, and a few women in the group went shopping together. There was a T-shirt that I liked and I was trying to decide what size to purchase. I held a Large against me and one of the women said, "Oh, you are so small I think the Medium would be better." Me---small!!! But when I looked at the other women, although none were obese I was the thinnest. (We were all about fifty-ish.) Meals were included and were served buffet-style. I was never a big Breakfast eater even before surgery but I love my coffee, so most mornings I would have a couple of cups. Then I might have a spoon of scrambled egg and a slice of bacon and I would be done. I ate similarly at lunch and dinner--protein first and maybe a bite or two of vegetables. I noticed that other people had loaded plates and I only had a dab or two of something but no one said anything until the last night. For dessert, there was flan (I love flan) and I got a slice about as big as my thumb. It was the first dessert I had on the trip as none of the others had appealed to me before. One of the women looked at it on my plate and screeched, "We wondered what you ate and now I see that you eat JUNK!" I just smiled at her and enjoyed my flan because I am SMALL now.
  23. CW That is fabulous news! Pookey, You look fabulous my darling! I will say that now that you have lost weight, your glasses no longer fit your face. You need a size smaller frames! This happened to my brother when he was losing weight. He had to go down two frame sizes. What an NSV! So happy for you!
  25. Ok, here's my NSV for the week.... I decided to start riding my recumbent bike again (I hate exercise). I picked up right where I left off 9 months ago - same program, distance, pace, etc. My peak HR back then was 130-135. Now it is only 110-115. And along those same lines, before surgery, my BP had crept up to 132/95. Last visit to my PCP it was 106/68. My ❤️ loves my sleeve! By the way, welcome everyone to the no scale challenge! Keep those NSVs coming.
