  1. Love it! And the others are right, that's not a small NSV. Congratulations!!
  2. NSV...I managed to go all Easter weekend and didn't even eat one piece of candy!! Whoot-Whoot and I got the Scale Victory this morning...Had my first official weight check at Kaiser and I am officially down 10 of the 25# I have to lose before I can schedule my sleeve surgery!! Happy Monday!!
  3. That is a great NSV! I too hate taking pictures and can't wait to feel comfortable again doing that. Congrats!
  4. That's not a small NSV. It's HUGE!! I find myself taking pictures of myself now and I've never done that before. I take pics because I really like the outfit I have on, or because I like my hair that day. NEVER would have happened before. I'm thrilled that you're now in the family pictures! That's terrific for you and for them!!
  5. Hi guys - Just wanted to share because I thought many of you could relate. Over the Easter weekend we wanted to take pictures of the family. There are literally years and years of photos in our family albums WITHOUT me in the pictures (I always offer to take the pictures) because I didn't want to ever be photographed. Too painful to see those pictures. Well, this weekend, I found myself jumping in and asking my daughter to take a picture of me and the hubby. First time in soooo long I've found myself OK with that! I have a long way to go until I feel entirely comfortable on film, but I thought it was a good sign that my mind is changing and I'm liking myself a little bit more these days.
  6. As of yesterday, I am down 25 lbs and could get into some cute capris that were way too tight before surgery (3/27). Today I put on my pants for church and they are loose now too. Makes not having the Easter candy so worth it!

    It Fits!

My surgery was 02/29 and I'm down 46 lbs. In my 26 years I have never lost this amount of weight. I am so exited and it is amazing to see results. Everyone is telling me that they can tell I'm losing. At this point I still do not see it. My start weight was 356 so 46 lbs is small in the grand scheme of things, but huge at the same time! I can feel that my clothes are a little looser. Also I have reached my very first NSV goal. My wedding ring fits!!! I was so excited to be able to put it on. I can eat more than I thought I would be able to, but still NOWHERE near what I used to. I'm so happy that I got the surgery. Sometimes I want to walk up to overweight people and tell them that they can change their life. I know if someone did that to me though I would probably knock them out lol. I love when people ask me questions. My grandmother has someone at her work that I'm meeting with for dinner on Wednesday to discuss the sleeve and answer any questions she has. I guess she will get a first hand look at what eating after the sleeve is like. I am so excited to be able to share the info about the surgery with her, it was the best decision I have ever made for myself. Still quite a ways from goal, but each day brings me closer.
  8. Just put on a dress I bought 2 years ago and never wore. It fit, was even a little too big, I dare say...BUT, the NSV is that I put on a pair of pantyhose, without having to lay on the bed or put a nail through them because I was pulling so hard to get them over my thighs!!!! :) :)

    Awesome Nsv!

    HUGE NSV!! Congrats!!
  10. I'm walking 4 to 5 miles but was able to get in a .25 mile jog with my son running beside me. He's an athlete in great shape it felt so great to run with him. My goal is a mile just one step at a time. Sleeved 2/29 starting weight 242 current weight 215
  11. Just got out of the shower and for the first time in as long as I can remember, I was able to wrap my towel around myself, secure it (like a dress, kind of), and be completely covered!!! So stinkin' excited!!

Where Are My April 2012 Sleevers?

Thanks everyone for posting after surgery. I'm getting a little nervous my surgery is on the 10th. I can't wait to have my first NSV. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  13. Tried on cute winter boots this year and couldn't buy ANY except super short ones because my short fat legs would not fit into any of them. I was mortified and my husband felt terrible for me! I am 10 weeks from being sleeved in Mexico and I'm focusing on positive things like this. I want to be able to fit my calves into some cute boots this coming winter!!
  14. I had to share because weight wise I've been holding steady around 225, but inches wise... I found my box of pre-pregnancy clothes (198 and a size 14/16 before I got prego 1/2010) - Just for shots and giggles I tried on what *used* to be my favorite bra... It fit! Then I pulled out a pair of pants... THEY FIT! Lastly I pulled out a shirt and IT FIT! I haven't been able to wear these clothes in 2 years and they freaking fit! I'm doing a little happy dance right now

Nsv - My Surgeon Asked Me To Be In An Ad!

!!! WOOTTT !!! Sharon, YOU ROCK!!! I can't wait to see the ad. I'm sooo excited for you! You've done such a fantastic job at weight loss, I can't see any reason why he wouldn't choose you, so definitely enjoy this HUMONGOUS NSV!!! Dangit now, why did they remove the awesome smilies? I want my GIANT banana back! This so deserves it.
  17. My surgeon has asked me to be in an ad for him! I was surprised and pleased. I have been interviewed by his ad agency, and the "shoot" will be later this month. I think it will be fun. There will be a video testimonial on his web site it may also be used in other ways. It surprised me because I am not some tiny size 4 person like some people get to at goal- I am happy with my size 10's and 12's. I am also not a "spring chicken" - I turned 55 last Christmas. I really would like to get rid of some jiggly saggy skin and would like my waist to be 2-3" smaller - but neither of those are happening before the end of the month! When everything is complete, I will post the link to the finished product. I am absolutely a believer in Dr. Nick (or I wouldn't have picked him). I am NOT becoming a "Paid Spokesperson" for him, or anything like that. I am doing this for him because I am thrilled with the changes I have made in my life since the sleeve. If I can help someone in their desision process to get WLS, that's great. So now the big question - what am I going to wear?
  18. Judych - funny, i am an Aussie as well and was thinking the exact same thing. I wear 18's here but have size 14 Levi's & other 16's i bought in Hawaii. Jenn - well done. I just had a NSV as well - i rode a bike for the first time in about 30 years. I am very excited because that was one of my major goals - to get back on a push bike.

    C25K Question And First Nsv!

I'm officially 9 days post-op right now. As of today, I feel like I'm back to 100%. All of the internal pulling and tugging I felt is gone, no pain with bending or stretching, etc. YAY! Anyway, my surgeon said that I should wait until three weeks out to start at the gym. I'm assuming that includes C25K. How far out were you guys when you started? I was kind of hoping to start Monday, but that would put me at 2 weeks. Also, week 1 of C25K wouldn't be a HUGE strain on my body as I've always been very active prior to surgery (thanks to my retriever pup). Not sure if that makes a difference. AAAANNNDD first NSV: putting on this "sexy coat" that used to cut off the circulation in my arms... and it FITS! Down 30 pounds as of today!
  20. I went out shopping today to find a cute dress to wear for Easter. As I hunted through the racks I saw one I liked but was disappointed that it was only a size 10. Still I figured, I'll try it anyway...the worst thing that could happen is that it doesn't fit. I slipped it on, zipped it up, and almost started crying with joy! I literally have not worn a size 10 dress in well over ten years. Single digits, here I come!

    Almost 70

I am so sorry to hear that you are having such a horrible stall. But I congratulate you on your positive outlook. It is so true that if weight loss is this hard WITH the sleeve I can't imagine what it would be like without it! No wonder I was never successful before. I can't imagine what you're going through. I was about to pull my hair out after a 3 week stall. They are so frustrating. To break mine I changed up what I was doing. I stuck to my Proteins and Water and changed the type of exercise I was doing. The weekend before my stall broke (I weigh in on mondays) I visited some friends and I had a "carb" day... meaning that I focused on proteins but I didn't worry about the ice cream scoop I had or the cookie I had. I needed the break mentally. My sleeve let me be normal without worrying about going crazy. The next day I was down 4. I definitely don't go carb crazy to lose the weight, it normally wouldn't work. It could've just been the mental sigh of relief over the weekend that caused it, I really don't know. No matter what, stalls are tough. Focus on all of those wonderful NSV's and your muscle tone and your body and relax knowing that your sleeve will take care of you. Also, your scale stinks lol! Leave it alone for awhile. ((hugs)) good luck!

    Nsv! Celebrate The Little Things!

I feel the same way BrandiMarie!! I actually get up a little earlier in the morning to make myself up and make sure my hair looks good. It's so awesome to feel this way isn't it? Congrats on your NSV!!!
  23. I had surgery on 1/31/2012. I have had a dream recovery. I've lost 45lbs so far (from my highest weight). I've a few NSVs along the way already... not the least of which was having all of my work clothes, which were fairly expensive, taken in because they were falling off. But, my NSV for today is a bigger deal to me because I've NEVER in my life been able to do it before. Not only can I cross my legs comfortably, BUT I can do it while sitting at my desk working. I can't believe my thighs are finally small enough to cross my legs under my desk and not get wedged in!!! I LOVE the sleeved life!
  24. Easter holidays start today and I haven't bought a single Easter egg or hot cross bun for myself or for anyone else!
