That is awesome!! It's definitely a NSV I'm looking forward to after my surgery. Congratulations and great job!

it's kind of fishing (well, not kind of), but next time you see them you could talk about your most recent NSV (Yay, I finally reached a size X, I haven't seen that since ___) and see if he says anything?

People Are Starting To Notice! I Love It!

One of the great NSVs. Just this week a couple of coworkers started calling me, "skinny". I replied, "you can call me skinny all day long." Enjoy it! Congrats! -
A shrinking stall?
Kindle replied to theladyslipper's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Between weeks 6 and 7 I GAINED 3 pounds. At 10 weeks (that was the next time I stepped on the scale) I weighed the same as 6 weeks. But I had dropped a whole pant size, so never even knew I had a month long stall till it was nearly over. So yes, it happens. That is why my mantra to all newbies is "Stay off the scale", because those numbers do not always show what's really going on. Try not to worry about the numbers, just enjoy the NSVs. They are the important part. -
Big NSV and I don't really have anyone to tell it to!

Great Job, NSV's are sometimes the best one!!! -

Well, my higher boss hasn't really seen me in about a month. He saw me today and told me I need to stop losing weight because he has to squint now to see me. He said he was looking for me the other day and said he must have missed me because who he was looking for was someone that didn't even resemble who I am now. He said it's a good thing I talk a lot or he'd never know I was around. Ha! Because I know him so well, I took it as a compliment that he intended it to be.

Nsv Up The Wazzzooooo Today!
nancy_marie_00 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok so my brothers wedding is in September and I am a bridesmaid ....I purchased a dress in size 20 back in December of last year....I waz sleeved on 2/21/12....so I had to exchange it for a smaller size...the girls at the bridal place wanted me to try on dresses to see where I am at. After hesitation I agreed to...guess what...I fit into a size 16!!! It zipped almost all the way up!!! So I ordered a 12...September is 6 months away!! Hehehe! Then I figured I would head over to lane bryant for a new bra....I was a 42 DDD.....they said I am now a size 36 DD!!!!!! Holy crap! No more shopping in the fat chick stores for bras!!! So I saved my 50 plus dollars I would have spent on bra and undies there and headed to walmart....I hot bra and underwear for $12!!! Today was a great day!!! -
LOL I LOVE that you thought your chain was stretching! That's great. Congratulations! Can't wait for my first NSV.

So I am about 4 1/2 months from surgery and since the day I returned home from the hospital I have become a workout junky...I started slow and now workout an 1 - 1 1/2 hours a day, I can do an hour on the elliptical with no problems, can run intermittently on the treadmill and my energy is through the roof, I couldn't have done any of this prior to surgery even though I use to workout some....I lift light weights on my off days from the gym and feel guilty if I miss one day of working out, go figure ...Since my surgery I have had no complications and easily get in 80g - 120g of protein daily, don't get me wrong I have not been perfect with my diet and was starting to get discouraged with only losing 63lbs since surgery, I thought I should have been losing it faster with all the working out I was doing.....I thought of something Lil Ms Diva said a while back which was to celebrate every pound and realize that this process is a journey (paraphrasing) but it was something to that effect...I can say I am happier and feel awesome....I give much props to my surgeon Dr. Nick Nicholson...to those of you starting your journey the surgery is worth it and definitely life changing! My stats below haven't been updated current weight: 248 lbs.

I was chatting with a work colleague who I respect for her straight talking. She is one of the few here who know I have had the band. She asked how much weight I have lost and how I am feeling. I was my (new) positive self and told her how great I was feeling, what a fantastic ride I had to work this morning etc. Her next comment stunned me! She told me that in the past, i.e. pre-band days, I would only ever talk about how sick I was or how much my knees ached. While it might sound negative, it was a real reminder of just how far I have come and how much changing my life for the better is also have a positive effect on others. I publicly apologise to all those who I had brought down with my misery guts outlook on life in the past. Life is glorious!

I had to share my excitement with folks who would understand...I kinda felt like the Progresso Soup commercial where the woman calls about her old jeans fitting and the man just doesn't get it when I tried to share my excitement with my shopping friend today. I went shopping today with some of my Christmas gift cards and just for grins I tried on a size 18 jean and they FIT!! When I had my surgery on April 22, 2011 I was wearing a size 26 so this absolutely made the first day of the New Year great for me. I can't wait to see where I might be on my 1 year anniversary after the success my band has helped me with so far. I am hoping that all my fellow bandsters have a blessed and skinny 2012!!

Awesome Sounds like an great NSV :)

I totally agree with rmom, but if you're just out of Lane Bryant, you may want to try the 14W for that little extra give. Silhouettes even has a 12W, which also provide a little extra with style. Congratulations on your NSV.

Fitting into the bikini in my profile picture was my best NSV!

Okay, Tough love, Vines style. (ooooh that aughta scare anyone.) Everyone is different, but what makes you think you are so special the band won't work for you? Bubs baby, your asthma right now isn't as bad as mine was before my surgery. I know this because you haven't been hauled off to the ER days before your surgery, and you haven't said you are on daily nebulizer treatments. You didn't spend a couple of weeks in hospital over the Christmas break because you couldn't breathe either, RIGHT????? All I can tell you, which probably isn't going to make a damn bit of difference is that my asthma is all but cured after being banded. I went from using an inhaler every 3 weeks to taking acouple of puffs a month. My biggest NSV is that I didn't die from resperatory failure, and you know what? Based on other asthmatic bandsters here, I really believe that your asthma will get that much better too. I know you don't believe me, but it is what I believe. As for your fybromailagia, mine has gotten dramatically better too. I have very few flare days, so much so that when one hits, that I cannot believe I spent so much time like that, that a flare was normal instead of a flare. When you don't feel crappy all the time it is amazing to realize how crappy you felt before. So, that's tough love Vines style. Now, here's a hug, and a cup of herb tea and a tissue. Sorry to be so hard on you.

Whoa! Where'd did the "guts" come from?!

There are so many NSV in your post! That is awesome, congratulations on your success! -
Hello from another Michigander!! Here's a link to a post I made last week that pretty much sums up how it's been for me: http://verticalsleevetalk.com/vertical-sleeve-gastrectomy-surgery-vsg-success-stories/9113-best-week-ever-nsv-after-nsv.html I've gone from a tight 20 pants/jeans to a loose 14, gonna shop for 12s tomorrow. I still have 18 lbs to my original goal but think I'm gonna shoot for another 30 so I figure on getting into 10s and maybe 8s. Also on my list of things to look forward to was getting a pair of really slutty-looking shoes LOL...my first 5K is this Saturday and we're going out that night to Celebrate and I'll be wearing those shoes, which my feet can get into because now I just take a Wide instead of an Extra Wide or 2E. WOOO!! Cannot say enough about the sleeve. Who's your surgeon?

Dreaming... about clothes
jane13 replied to becomingmandikaye's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Margie122 - I do the same thing. I purge and look for things that are marked down in the newer size and about three to four months later I purge them. That's the best NSVs as the inches go bye bye. -
Today is my first day back at work. I was sleeved Monday so was off work for 6 days. Feeling good and glad to be back. I put on my work clothes and had my first NSV. I was able to button the top button on my dress shirt. Normally I just use my tie to hold my shirt closed but today the button gets to do its own job. That was exciting! Looking forward to lots more of these discoveries.

I go back tomorrow took a week and a day off. Congrats!!!! So happy for the first of many NSVs!!!!!!!!!!! -
I'm so thrilled! Today I was able to work out for a full hour! I walked on my treadmill at 4.0, and did two easy miles in 34 minutes. I lifted light weights after the fast walk! After that I got on my bike and took my dog on a run! Losing 45 pounds has a made a huge difference in my energy and ability to exercise.
