  1. I would have to say my NSV so far would have to be not taking a pain pills for knee pain since surgery. I usually would take 1-2 a day depending on how much I would be on my feet, and my feet and knees don't ache like they used too. I was always ready for bed by 7 p.m. and bought pizza, fast food for the family so I didn't have to stand at the stove and cook, cuz I was so tired. I am 51 lbs down, 7 weeks post opt, and am reloving fixing fun food for the family!
  2. What has been your proudest NSV yet? For me, I can't decide if it was finally finding my collar bones (this weekend, woohoo!) or fitting into my pre-pregnancy clothes last weekend... Right now they're tied.
  3. So, I've been gone a while - a work trip had me pretty MIA, and work has been very busy since I got back as well. 1. The towe I use for the hot tub fits all the way around me and then some now YAY! 2. I can have the steering wheel all the way down when I'm driving and don't have to move it to get in and out of the car either 3. Clothing sizes have definitely changed 4. I sat in a booth at a restaurant after much anxiety, it was no problem - in fact, I had to scoot forward a bit in the booth to eat. 5. I got my wedding ring on and off my finger I had it cut off about a year and a half ago to have surgery for breast tumors and haven't even tried it on since. Its on now Now i have to get the cut in it fixed I haven't been weighing myself - I pretty much forgot I have a scale. I have to start being more active - working out has not occurred like I have wanted it to - but that's going to change ASAP. While I was in texas for work, I walked everywhere but here, I haven't been doing as much and I NEED to. I lost 10 lbs while i was off on my work trip for 3 weeks - not too bad
  4. I lost 70 pounds doing southbeach two years ago. I came to a revelation that might help you. Plus size clothing is different than regular sizes. I can wear plus sizes for a differentiation of like 20 pounds, but my skinny friends need new sizes within a 5~10 pound difference. You need to focus on other nsv. How do you feel? Can you sit more comfortably, say in an airplane seat? You're doing amazing, you will drop sizes shortly.
  5. Even though you don't want to, I encourage you to put on your tightest outfit and take a full frontal photo now......I did and it was the worst-photo-ever-taken of me.....but now I'm glad I did! I found the same top I had on 70 lbs ago and put it on now and took another photo! It's really amazing to see how your body changes.....I didn't know I had a neck!!! You can see both the BEFORE (ugh) and AFTER on my weekly blog, along with my NSV for the week.......my legs don't touch at the top any more and I didn't know until I took the photo!!!! Just click on my link below to see.... This forum has been so inspirational to me and I hope it is to all of you Pre-op people too!
  6. April 14 was my two month surgiversary, so here is a little on my progress. 1) SW-335 DOS-317 CW-272 2)I have lost a total of 63# counting pre-op. 3)I started in a size 28 3-4X. Currently I wear a 20-22 XL. 4)I have gone down 3 sizes in panties and from a 46 to a 42 in bra band size. Luckily the girls are sticking around (for now) and I'm still in a F cup. We like the girls..hehe. Makes the waist line look even smaller. 5)I have quit 18/21 of the meds that I was on. I only take the two stomach meds and a Vitamin now. 6) I have not had a Fibromyalgia flareup since the surgery. NSV We have a Jacuzzi tub in our master bathroom. I regularly soak in it because of the pain from my knee and hip injuries. I was in it the other night and kept stretching out; I had my feet on the tile back splash admiring my new French pedi and I just kept having to push myself back up in the tub. I though, " something doesn't feel the same, what is it." I knew that I was not shorter. Then it dawned on me. You are not touching the sides of the tub! I was sliding down because the Water was able to circulate all the way around me. The bubbles from the jets were moving me around. My big booty no longer had me corked in there. Yay! I took my kids to Burger King the other day to eat and play. When we came out, this guy had parked his big 4WD right on top of my van. I was livid. How in the world did the big dummy expect me to be able to leave! I calmed myself down and told the kids to get in from the other side. I decided to give it a try before I went in and fed him his burger in one big choking bite. I DID IT! I squeeze through that tiny crack in the door (that even a thin person should not of had to do) and didn't scratch or ding either of our doors. I was tempted to open it back hard two or three times after I did get in though. Some people are just inconsiderate. Even if I weren't fat, I could have been crippled or elderly. Arrgg!! I completely rearranged my living room by myself. I moved; the sofa, two recliners, love seat, buffet, 55 gal. Aquarium, antique steamer trunk, metal caldron fountain and about a ton of assorted junk. Then I swept and laid the new rugs and then put it all back. My Fibromyalgia flares are exercise induced. The would normally have put me in bed in excruciating pain for 24-48 hours. I had myself braced for the worse, but nothing happened. Not even a twinge! I have not had a flare since surgery. I do not have to fight with the seatbelt any more! This is just a quick little run down of a few things that have progressed for me over the last several weeks. I have not made it by far, but I am getting there a little bit at a time. Health, happiness and Onderland! Boo-yah :0)
  7. Hi fellow August 2011 bandsters! just real curious how everyone is progessing? I was off the sight for a few months, and came back a couple weeks ago. I would love to hear everyones weight loss to this point, and any feedback, positive and negative. Also how are we doing with foods?..everything going down ok? What are trouble foods for you? And fills, how many have you had thus far? I was banded 8/31/11 (just made it lol). I am down a total of 69 lbs. I have had 4 fills..i think one more should do it. I can eat almost anything..but bread and rice give me some problems here and there. I have a hard time eating breakfast, usually have 1/2 a scrambled egg. And my biggest NSV ...have not thrown up once!

Highest weight ever was 291 ( 3years ago) started my pre op diet at 268. Prior to surgery I weighed in at 240lbs. But I am sooo close to onederland, I can almost taste it! I am a slow loser I average 2lbs a week. I have a trip to Hawaii on May 4th. I know I won't be bikini ready (far from!) but I so wanna be under 200. Ahhhh I hope I make it! Btw I had an NSV... I can wrap my bath towel around myself and no skin shows!! Lol

    Non-Scale Victory!!!

I was banded 14 1/2 months ago. Needless to say, I'm still fat. I have no one to blame but myself. I just ate whatever I wanted thinking I would still lose weight. Uh, no. That did not happen. And I wound up gaining more weight. So after a binge on chips and dip 3 weeks ago Wednesday, I finally realized that I cannot continue to live and eat the way I had been. So the very next day, I recommitted myself to making a change in my life. God willing, it will be a lifelong one. I have no clue how much I weighed 3 weeks ago, but I know what I weigh now. And based on the scale, I weighed less than I thought I did when I recommitted, so that's a plus. And as of 2 days ago, I'm back in the 220's. Two twenty-eight to be specific. Yay!! Now onto the NSV. I have a body frame where I'm large from the waist up (very broad back), and smaller from the waist down. My tops are a size or two larger than my pants. Four years ago I lost weight the "right" way. I watched what I ate and exercised 5 days per week. That lasted all of a couple-three months, but in that time, I got down to a size 16. Not a 16W, but a regular ol' 16. So I had a pair of size 16 capris in my closet. Well, I pulled them out of the closet for the first time a couple weeks ago. I was able to wear them, but not zipped or buttoned. I held them up with a rubber band. I do that with all the jeans/pants I can't zip up. I wore those capris again today, using the rubber band to hold them up. As the hours passed, I noticed how loose they were, so I decided to try and zip and button them. And I was able to w/o any effort!!! Yay!! Now, sitting down in them wouldn't be pretty due to my HUGE muffin top. (A lot of my weight is in my stomach) So I need to still lose a good amount of weight in my stomach, but I was still thrilled that I was able to zip up and button a regular size 16 pant!!! That's my first NSV and I hope it's followed by many more.

  14. So ok.. when i was 14 i could get into clubs and what not cuz for whatever reason i guess i looked older than i should have... MUST HAVE BEEN THE GINORMOUS BOOBS...lol.. ok im only half kidding about that.... anyways..Since ive turned 21 I think ive only been carded 5 times.. and when i gained my weight in the past 4 years i was NEVER carded ...im now 28... and after losing 60 lbs.. I get carded every where I go!!!!! LMAO....and last week. I got carded buying cough syrup!!!! SERIOUSLY?!?!?! I apparently went from looking 30 to lookin 15 in a matter of 4 months..lol. Now i don't know if that counts as an NSV or not but it does kind of make me happy! so you guys tell me.. do i look that young?? cuz i just dont see it.
  15. When I gained weight, I noticed my height went from a solid 5' 2.5" to 5' 1.75" which was sad but I knew that as we age our vertebral discs loose elasticity and we get shorter. Sun of a gun, I've been in two doctor's offices this week and both measured me at 5' 2.5" again! I had no idea my weight gain had put that much pressure on my spine. Also, I've gone back to my normal shoe size of 7.5. I was an 8 at my heaviest!
  16. Prior to surgery, I was at Ikea. Right by the checkout there was a display of simple kid's step stools, made of a molded white plastic. I'm a shorty, so I grabbed one and bought it. When I got home, I showed it to my husband, and started to stand on it. It started to bend! LOL - how embarrassing, I was to heavy for that kid's stool. I never did finish putting my weight on it because it was going to collapse. I put it in the closet. Last night, I was looking through the closet and came across the stool. I pulled it out and cautiously put my weight on it. It did NOT collapse. I can now use the kid's step stool. YAY! I'd post a picture of this amazing feat, but I need a pedicure. ha.

    1Rst Nsv

hi fellow sleevers this morning after my shower, i dropped my towel. I bent down to pick it up, and i realized i went straight down without bending my knees. I said to myself, hmmmm what is different, i said haaaa, i usually have to bend my knees and squat a bit to pick something up. But now that i didn't have that big ol' tummy in the way, no bending. kathy

A Great Friday The 13Th Nsv!

    Congrats, Kimmy! A wonderful NSV!!!
  23. Good morning everyone! I just had to tell about my NSV this morning...I finally fit in my size 14 jeans!!! Woo hoo, I am sooo excited. I havent been in 14's since the late 80's. I started in a size 20. I can wait to be able to shop in the normal stores, not the plus size...sooo close! Happy Friday!
  24. A great NSV. I went shopping this morning and found an awesome tube top like shirt. I fell in love with it and decided to grab it up. I hate trying on in the store, bad memories of nothing ever fitting. So I grabbed an XL and said to myself well it probably won't fit now but will be awesome for when we go to Florida in a month. I get home pull it up and it slides back down!!!! Woot woot!! So I go back to the store get the L in every color they had!! I love clothes so much I can't wait to buy more!!! Now If my bottom would just lose faster.... Ok with being pear shaped just wish it was a smaller pear haha.
  25. wow, I think that's bony shoulders I feel on myself now! Love NSV, bring them on!
