What Are You Looking Forward To Doing?

Ooh my sleeve sister and I send each other a text every day with a NSV that we are looking forward to!! I love these!

    Non-Scale Victory!!!

I was banded 14 1/2 months ago. Needless to say, I'm still fat. I have no one to blame but myself. I just ate whatever I wanted thinking I would still lose weight. Uh, no. That did not happen. And I wound up gaining more weight. So after a binge on chips and dip 3 weeks ago Wednesday, I finally realized that I cannot continue to live and eat the way I had been. So the very next day, I recommitted myself to making a change in my life. God willing, it will be a lifelong one. I have no clue how much I weighed 3 weeks ago, but I know what I weigh now. And based on the scale, I weighed less than I thought I did when I recommitted, so that's a plus. And as of 2 days ago, I'm back in the 220's. Two twenty-eight to be specific. Yay!! Now onto the NSV. I have a body frame where I'm large from the waist up (very broad back), and smaller from the waist down. My tops are a size or two larger than my pants. Four years ago I lost weight the "right" way. I watched what I ate and exercised 5 days per week. That lasted all of a couple-three months, but in that time, I got down to a size 16. Not a 16W, but a regular ol' 16. So I had a pair of size 16 capris in my closet. Well, I pulled them out of the closet for the first time a couple weeks ago. I was able to wear them, but not zipped or buttoned. I held them up with a rubber band. I do that with all the jeans/pants I can't zip up. I wore those capris again today, using the rubber band to hold them up. As the hours passed, I noticed how loose they were, so I decided to try and zip and button them. And I was able to w/o any effort!!! Yay!! Now, sitting down in them wouldn't be pretty due to my HUGE muffin top. (A lot of my weight is in my stomach) So I need to still lose a good amount of weight in my stomach, but I was still thrilled that I was able to zip up and button a regular size 16 pant!!! That's my first NSV and I hope it's followed by many more.

  4. So ok.. when i was 14 i could get into clubs and what not cuz for whatever reason i guess i looked older than i should have... MUST HAVE BEEN THE GINORMOUS BOOBS...lol.. ok im only half kidding about that.... anyways..Since ive turned 21 I think ive only been carded 5 times.. and when i gained my weight in the past 4 years i was NEVER carded ...im now 28... and after losing 60 lbs.. I get carded every where I go!!!!! LMAO....and last week. I got carded buying cough syrup!!!! SERIOUSLY?!?!?! I apparently went from looking 30 to lookin 15 in a matter of 4 months..lol. Now i don't know if that counts as an NSV or not but it does kind of make me happy! so you guys tell me.. do i look that young?? cuz i just dont see it.
  5. When I gained weight, I noticed my height went from a solid 5' 2.5" to 5' 1.75" which was sad but I knew that as we age our vertebral discs loose elasticity and we get shorter. Sun of a gun, I've been in two doctor's offices this week and both measured me at 5' 2.5" again! I had no idea my weight gain had put that much pressure on my spine. Also, I've gone back to my normal shoe size of 7.5. I was an 8 at my heaviest!
  6. Prior to surgery, I was at Ikea. Right by the checkout there was a display of simple kid's step stools, made of a molded white plastic. I'm a shorty, so I grabbed one and bought it. When I got home, I showed it to my husband, and started to stand on it. It started to bend! LOL - how embarrassing, I was to heavy for that kid's stool. I never did finish putting my weight on it because it was going to collapse. I put it in the closet. Last night, I was looking through the closet and came across the stool. I pulled it out and cautiously put my weight on it. It did NOT collapse. I can now use the kid's step stool. YAY! I'd post a picture of this amazing feat, but I need a pedicure. ha.

hi fellow sleevers this morning after my shower, i dropped my towel. I bent down to pick it up, and i realized i went straight down without bending my knees. I said to myself, hmmmm what is different, i said haaaa, i usually have to bend my knees and squat a bit to pick something up. But now that i didn't have that big ol' tummy in the way, no bending. kathy

A Great Friday The 13Th Nsv!

    Congrats, Kimmy! A wonderful NSV!!!
  13. Good morning everyone! I just had to tell about my NSV this morning...I finally fit in my size 14 jeans!!! Woo hoo, I am sooo excited. I havent been in 14's since the late 80's. I started in a size 20. I can wait to be able to shop in the normal stores, not the plus size...sooo close! Happy Friday!
  14. A great NSV. I went shopping this morning and found an awesome tube top like shirt. I fell in love with it and decided to grab it up. I hate trying on in the store, bad memories of nothing ever fitting. So I grabbed an XL and said to myself well it probably won't fit now but will be awesome for when we go to Florida in a month. I get home pull it up and it slides back down!!!! Woot woot!! So I go back to the store get the L in every color they had!! I love clothes so much I can't wait to buy more!!! Now If my bottom would just lose faster.... Ok with being pear shaped just wish it was a smaller pear haha.
  15. wow, I think that's bony shoulders I feel on myself now! Love NSV, bring them on!

  16. Last week, my best friend and 2 godchildren (2 and 4) drove to Mississippi to visit my family.. I haven't seen any of them in person since November 2011... The 10 hour drive turned in 11 and a half... it's amazing how many times a 4 year old has to potty in the span of 3 hours!! Geez!!!.. Anyway I had numerous NSVs throughout my trip... I can sleep comfortably in the passengar seat of my SUV... I also don't have to have the seat all the back to get things off the floor!! I can buckle the seatbelt in the backseat of my truck!! (the new law in IL requires that all passengers wear a seatbelt...I couldn't fit it 3 months ago!!) We stopped at Paula Deen's Resturant in Tunica, Ms... I looked around the buffet... sampled a few things and I was finished!! No stuffing myself and feeling miserable!! Oh, we were also able to get a booth.. which was very small.. go figure!!!... When I made it home, my Mom and sisters were amazed!! I was in Walmart and a family friend didn't recognize me!! (She may have been drunk though!!!)... My favorite foods (catfish, dressing, mac and cheese and cake)... didn't tie me to the dining room table and jump down my throat this time... I prepared my famous spaghetti dinner and a pot of chicken and dumplings... I didn't eat any pasta, just sauce, I had 2 dumplings and plenty of chicken.. My best friend was doing laundry at my sister's house.. she washed "my jeans" and said they smelled like smoke... I was like.. HUH... she put the jeans on my bed afterwards.. I looked at them, they were my sister's size 14 jeans!! I was like.. girl!! She said, you're losing so much weight, I thought they were your skinny jeans or something!! I'm still trying each day to follow the plan and stay on this road to complete wholeness and wellness... Redefining my relationship w/ food and ridding myself of people really don't get it are the two things that guide my daily agenda now... Surounding ourselves with positivity leads to confidence and victories won!!!
  17. The new ones look so tiny!! Yay for NSV's
  18. Hey Guys!!! It's been 3 months, 3 weeks and 3 days since I was sleeved... I thought it was cool... the whole 333 thing.. anyway, I just wanted to share where I am right now.. I'm not losing tons of weight very quickly, however, I am losing inches, inhibitions and immature people's info!!! I'll make a different post about my NSVs to date and my trip home to Mississippi last week... This post is long enough.. But these are my stats so far.... Weight- HW: 382 DOS: 360 CW: 325ish and falling Clothing size- 30/32- 4X , size 11W shoe (pre-sleeve) 28/30 -3X/4X, size 11W shoe (day of surgery) 22/24-2X and falling, size 101/2 W (Currently) The Girls- 48DD (pre- sleeve) 46D (day of surgery) 44C (currently) Physical Ability- no stairs, little exercise, too painful (pre-sleeve) walking a mile w/ pain during the last .25 mile (near surgery day) 7 miles on recumbant bike, 2-mile walk, 3 flights of stairs w/ NO PAIN (currently!!!) For the first time in my life I ran outside in the real world, with the intention of running, and with a running buddy! It was amazing, we really ran, this wasn't just some slow walking, we kept up a steady jog pace up and down grades AND talked! I felt great and the only part of me to conk out were my lungs and throat which felt like they were sucking ice shards, otherwise I felt good. And ... we did 2.75 miles!!!! The most I've done alone on a tread was 1.5!!!! My running buddy is a former personal trainer and is in excellent shape and she said that I did really well. yay
