Doc Is Happy And So Am I

    A Most Nerdy Nsv!

We nerds will take over the world! Very proud of your NSV!!
  3. If you want to see what I am talking about you can check it out at dagorhir.com ... ...okay, so a MUCH younger me was always doing some sort of martial art - and at about 18 fell in LOVE with armed european swordplay - european martial arts, that sort of thing...so I fought in the SCA and other groups...I loved it and I was really good at it. And then I packed on the weight and I just could not keep up. I lacked the arm reach and I was always injuring myself... Sunday I participated in an event again for the first time, and I KICKED ASS, lol. I was mediocre, actually...but it was the first time in fifteen years, and I won sparring events and survived the meley. You may need to locate a nerd to interperate... I was getting some Water, which is on the otherside of a bamboo wall in the park we were in and I heard one of the more experienced guys (who I almost beat 5/6) say "she hasn't done this is 15 years? really???" you can't see it, but the sun is shining from WITHIN me right now, this - feels - sooo - freakin' - good!

    January Surgery Bandsters Group

Hello All, Kganous, sorry to hear about the issues with your port...hopefully May 7th will be a positive visit and no surgery will be necessary...prayers. Chrissylu - "43 by 43" thats great.. glad you are able to increase that goal.. Congrats to all that are meeting there goals, getting restriction and doing well especially with those NSV's. I went to my nutritionist appointment today..she says I'm doing well even though I fell off the exercise bandwagon over the last week or 2 (6.4lbs lost in 6 weeks). I think I'm finally feeling some restriction well I did right after the fill on Friday into Saturday. I can go at least 3 hours before I think "am I hungry or thirsty" usually water help fill me up for a good while before my head is in the fridge. Well only 12 more pounds till "onderland" so I have something great to look forward too! if I get my butt up and workout hopefully I reach it soon..but its a process! I know. My NSV include going to LB's and buying 38 instead of 44 bra's during the buy 2 get 1 free event. The sales person said..wow your bra is too big why are you wearing that..I just smiled and said "that's why I'm here"

Oh I forgot my NSV, I have a smaller booty! Was beginning to think I would just keep changing bra sizes forever and nothing else.

    Listening To My Husband :)

This is awesome insight! Yes, do listen to your husband. It's natural to see yourself as the bigger you, but reality is knocking at your door! Let reality in and readjust your picture of yourself as a slimmer, yes smaller, you. CONGRATS! This is an awesome NSV!
  7. WOW... That is one super-duper NSV... and check out that photo... you look seriously strong there! What an amazing achievement at just 5mths out! You don't look like you have EVER been overweight!!
  8. I would of never dreamed in a lifetime that I would ever have a regular bath towel wrap around me again. I also put on an old teeshirt to paint in, after putting it on I realized it was one of my husband's and it was actually big on me, something I would never of fit in before presleeve and I would of been embarrassed to even try. One more, the best one to me is I walked , at a minimum of 21 miles this week, jogged some of it also. It was at least 3 miles a day. There was a time when the furthest I walked (other than at work) was from the couch to the frig. ME, YEAH ME. I CAN NOT BELIEVE THAT.... and I actually enjoyed it!!! You know I do not see myself differently. Others say things to me but it still is strange like....... are they talking to me? I am far from normal weight for my height but I can say that I can not even imagine how I will feel when I get closer to goal for as of right now.. I am over the moon. Gotta love that sleeve!
  9. Wow just had the greatest NSV I was at work and a lady came in who was unaware of my surgery and I hadn't seen her in months....She exclaimed (in front of my hubby) Wow Girl what are you doing, you are just glowing....you are like half the person....(well I have only lost 51 lbs so not quite...but non the less)...she just kept ranting and raving....wow...there must really be a difference even though I don't see it yet!

    My Sleeve Is Saving Me

That is amazing that you have gotten past the emotional side of food. That is such a hurdle to get past. That is something for you to be so proud of. A definite NSV!! My thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time.
  11. Globetrotter

    People Are Balloon Bursters

Oh Coops that is an awesome nsv, and sort of a fantasy of mine, to have a third party call out my thinness!! That friend of mine that I've talked about, the personal trainer who is lean and athletic and has her phd in nutrition and metabolism, is JUST like the one who gave you the trousers, constantly talking about her "tummy", look how much bigger I was in this photo ... about how fat she feels. I know it is all a desperate teenage girl (she's 31) method of gleaning compliments - how insecure is that?! I just go silent when she does it, I do not give her what she wants, I will not feed the beast.

    Male Nsv

Awesome Sounds like an great NSV :)
  13. I am super excited to be posting this and I made this thread to not only see everyone's nsv's but for people who aren't loosing to come to this thread to get encouragement! Lately my weight loss has slowed down I loose about 1-2 lbs a week here lately before I was loosing anywhere between 5-6 lbs a week.....anyways to make a long story short I've been in a size 16 for over a month now and I went and bought a size 13 before I was even in the 16's because I knew eventually I would get there well 2 days ago I was able to put on those 13's, granted they were tight and made my flabby stomach poke out at the top I was still able to get them on and button and zip them!!! I won't be wearing them out in public for awhile until I can more comfortably fit in them but I just had to share this experience with all of you!

I think that is the best NSV I have EVER SEEN!! LOVE IT

    Male Nsv

I'm 6 weeks out today and down 58 pounds. My NSV for yesterday was a surprise encore performance last night within minutes of the main performance. Maybe there is something to this testosterone thing? I have always been sorta up for around two....but only after a snack and an hours rest...lol. This was like being 21 again...daddy's back!
  16. I would have to say my NSV so far would have to be not taking a pain pills for knee pain since surgery. I usually would take 1-2 a day depending on how much I would be on my feet, and my feet and knees don't ache like they used too. I was always ready for bed by 7 p.m. and bought pizza, fast food for the family so I didn't have to stand at the stove and cook, cuz I was so tired. I am 51 lbs down, 7 weeks post opt, and am reloving fixing fun food for the family!
  17. What has been your proudest NSV yet? For me, I can't decide if it was finally finding my collar bones (this weekend, woohoo!) or fitting into my pre-pregnancy clothes last weekend... Right now they're tied.
  18. So, I've been gone a while - a work trip had me pretty MIA, and work has been very busy since I got back as well. 1. The towe I use for the hot tub fits all the way around me and then some now YAY! 2. I can have the steering wheel all the way down when I'm driving and don't have to move it to get in and out of the car either 3. Clothing sizes have definitely changed 4. I sat in a booth at a restaurant after much anxiety, it was no problem - in fact, I had to scoot forward a bit in the booth to eat. 5. I got my wedding ring on and off my finger I had it cut off about a year and a half ago to have surgery for breast tumors and haven't even tried it on since. Its on now Now i have to get the cut in it fixed I haven't been weighing myself - I pretty much forgot I have a scale. I have to start being more active - working out has not occurred like I have wanted it to - but that's going to change ASAP. While I was in texas for work, I walked everywhere but here, I haven't been doing as much and I NEED to. I lost 10 lbs while i was off on my work trip for 3 weeks - not too bad
  19. I lost 70 pounds doing southbeach two years ago. I came to a revelation that might help you. Plus size clothing is different than regular sizes. I can wear plus sizes for a differentiation of like 20 pounds, but my skinny friends need new sizes within a 5~10 pound difference. You need to focus on other nsv. How do you feel? Can you sit more comfortably, say in an airplane seat? You're doing amazing, you will drop sizes shortly.
  20. Even though you don't want to, I encourage you to put on your tightest outfit and take a full frontal photo now......I did and it was the worst-photo-ever-taken of me.....but now I'm glad I did! I found the same top I had on 70 lbs ago and put it on now and took another photo! It's really amazing to see how your body changes.....I didn't know I had a neck!!! You can see both the BEFORE (ugh) and AFTER on my weekly blog, along with my NSV for the week.......my legs don't touch at the top any more and I didn't know until I took the photo!!!! Just click on my link below to see.... This forum has been so inspirational to me and I hope it is to all of you Pre-op people too!
  21. April 14 was my two month surgiversary, so here is a little on my progress. 1) SW-335 DOS-317 CW-272 2)I have lost a total of 63# counting pre-op. 3)I started in a size 28 3-4X. Currently I wear a 20-22 XL. 4)I have gone down 3 sizes in panties and from a 46 to a 42 in bra band size. Luckily the girls are sticking around (for now) and I'm still in a F cup. We like the girls..hehe. Makes the waist line look even smaller. 5)I have quit 18/21 of the meds that I was on. I only take the two stomach meds and a Vitamin now. 6) I have not had a Fibromyalgia flareup since the surgery. NSV We have a Jacuzzi tub in our master bathroom. I regularly soak in it because of the pain from my knee and hip injuries. I was in it the other night and kept stretching out; I had my feet on the tile back splash admiring my new French pedi and I just kept having to push myself back up in the tub. I though, " something doesn't feel the same, what is it." I knew that I was not shorter. Then it dawned on me. You are not touching the sides of the tub! I was sliding down because the Water was able to circulate all the way around me. The bubbles from the jets were moving me around. My big booty no longer had me corked in there. Yay! I took my kids to Burger King the other day to eat and play. When we came out, this guy had parked his big 4WD right on top of my van. I was livid. How in the world did the big dummy expect me to be able to leave! I calmed myself down and told the kids to get in from the other side. I decided to give it a try before I went in and fed him his burger in one big choking bite. I DID IT! I squeeze through that tiny crack in the door (that even a thin person should not of had to do) and didn't scratch or ding either of our doors. I was tempted to open it back hard two or three times after I did get in though. Some people are just inconsiderate. Even if I weren't fat, I could have been crippled or elderly. Arrgg!! I completely rearranged my living room by myself. I moved; the sofa, two recliners, love seat, buffet, 55 gal. Aquarium, antique steamer trunk, metal caldron fountain and about a ton of assorted junk. Then I swept and laid the new rugs and then put it all back. My Fibromyalgia flares are exercise induced. The would normally have put me in bed in excruciating pain for 24-48 hours. I had myself braced for the worse, but nothing happened. Not even a twinge! I have not had a flare since surgery. I do not have to fight with the seatbelt any more! This is just a quick little run down of a few things that have progressed for me over the last several weeks. I have not made it by far, but I am getting there a little bit at a time. Health, happiness and Onderland! Boo-yah :0)
  22. Hi fellow August 2011 bandsters! just real curious how everyone is progessing? I was off the sight for a few months, and came back a couple weeks ago. I would love to hear everyones weight loss to this point, and any feedback, positive and negative. Also how are we doing with foods?..everything going down ok? What are trouble foods for you? And fills, how many have you had thus far? I was banded 8/31/11 (just made it lol). I am down a total of 69 lbs. I have had 4 fills..i think one more should do it. I can eat almost anything..but bread and rice give me some problems here and there. I have a hard time eating breakfast, usually have 1/2 a scrambled egg. And my biggest NSV ...have not thrown up once!
