July 30, 2019, was my date. I'm down 70 pounds and have noticed it is going pretty slow now.

I had my surgery in July 2019 - I was 67. (68 now) You're never too old to get healthier! Don't let worries about your age be your barrier! Good Luck!!

    Daily Exercise Amount?

I am all over the place. Some weeks I walk 4-5 miles almost every day. Last weekend I walked 10 miles and 14 miles (Sat/Sun). I haven't walked since then. This weekend I will do some more really long walks, but I do hope to walk more during the work week. My daughter can't drive to her after school activities since She doesn't have her drivers license, and it is hard to get my workouts in every day like I would like to. She gets her license next month though so I am excited. At that time I hope to go back to doing Pilates at least twice a week. Those classes are 45-60 minutes and I tend to walk a couple miles afterwards. I am not doing weights or anything right now. I MAY try to join a Zumba class, if I can get through it without my heart rate getting too fast like it has in the past.

    Lap band to gastric bypass

I had banding done in 2001 and revision done in October 2019. I have to say I feel very underinformed about the differences in the surgery. Eating has gone well and I no longer have the acid reflux or vomiting issues I did with the band. SO I consider the surgery a success.
  6. Hey guyssss!! I wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing! How is everyone??
  7. Sleeved on 12/31, weighed myself on Wednesday and have lost 10 lbs. I'm finding a successful routine with my liquids and managing to get to 60ish grams on the protein. I feel like I've drank more liquid in the last week than in the last year! I'm on liquids for a total of three weeks before moving to the glorious puree stage!
  8. Really, I don't know how much help I need versus just needing someone, anyone who knows what I'm going through to listen to me vent. I guess you can say I was in the lower "High weight" class starting this journey at 231lbs, at one point I was all the way up to 246 and at only 5'2... not good. I was sleeved on October 19, 2017 so I am just over the 2 year mark. The lowest weight I seen was 136. I sat at 138-142 for over a year (Doing awesome at maintenance). But then life happened my husband and I moved Across country for work, only to move back to the state we left 5 months later due to my youngest daughter being diagnosed with a rare bone disease that causes her to grow bone tumors all over her body! she is only 4 so you can imagine the dread I felt/feel. I let my control slip slowly , now 9 months later I find my self 15 pounds heavier and struggling to get my **** together. I started back at the gym a month ago and that is going great, but I'm back to old eating habits even if I am unable to eat much, what I've been eating is a definite no-no. I know the basics, I know what I need to do, its getting back in the right head space that I am finding difficult. I guess that is where someone else would come in... What have you done to get back on track? What motivates you? How do you get rid of negative thoughts after starting to gain again? I just want to get back on the losers bench and get back to where I was...

    OOTD

I've never seen that "misses kisses" one before...interesting. I have a bra like the one below that I used when I was heavier and worked great. It's called a U-plunge I'll def buy another one in my current size if the need arises. Edited to add A pic of me wearing it a long time ago.. The pic at the at the bottom is me wearing it under a dress about 10 years ago. I was about a 36DD at the time. Here is a pic of me wearing it underneath a dress. I was about a 36 DD in this pic.

You have great boobs.... Love the dress.... Wrong shoes. You need some sexy strappy ones. I wore these for NYE 2018.... They would be perfect...... This was, Of course, Jan 1, 2018.... I had my band removed 10 months before, so i had put on like 15lbs.... I'm going to have to go home and try that dress on again. Look for the VS Push and Plung bra. I can't wear them, but i have friends that do and WOW it makes a difference.

    January 2020 Surgery Date

On day two of 1 week liquid diet. It hasn't been too bad so far as it allows for something every hour or so. 8am - Protein shake 9:30am - sugar free jello, 1 cup of fruit and 8 oz water 10:30 am Protein Shake 12pm - 16 oz water 1pm - Protein Shake 2:30pm - 1 cup low sodium broth, 1 cup of fruit and 8 oz water 3:30pm - Protein Shake 5pm - 16 oz water 6:30pm - Protein shake 8pm - 1 cup low sodium broth and 1 cup of fruit Spreading things out over the day helps. Prior to this I was dieting using intermittent fasting, so I am used to feeling hungry and can deal with it.
  13. I was sleeved 12/12/19, I weighed myself today, I have lost 27lbs total since surgery day. Whoot whoot !!! That is damn near a pound a day. I have been mainly focusing on fluids/protein shakes. I can only eat about an a ounce of food at a time. Try to do this three times a day. I have decided to go to a plant based diet to maintain my weight loss. This surgery has drastically opened my eyes to a new way of thinking.
  14. I lost eight lbs since 12/4/19. The liquid diet was no problem for me. Sometimes I think about going back on it because my weight has stalled
  15. I had surgery on 11/22/2019 weighing 207 lbs. (down from 220 with pre-op diet). I am currently at 192 lbs. and seem to have hit a stall the last couple of weeks. I've had issues since the first week experiencing all sorts of not-so-fun stuff. I had major acid reflux for about 2 weeks solid which I'm happy to say has eased up to only occasionally. I also have been experiencing a strange type of stomach pain in the middle of the night which wakes me up. It feels as if my stomach is contracting and the pain shoots all the way up to my top left molar. I know it sounds weird but I only get this toothache when I'm having this strange stomach pain. Eating is getting a little better but I have to be very careful as I find it easy to overeat without realizing it which causes me extreme nausea. My energy levels have been very low but I can say these are improving. I can deal with the side effects of surgery as long as i know they're not serious and will go away with time. Anybody else having some issues?
  16. I got my lap band in 2006 and had great success losing over 100 lbs. I stayed around 140 lbs. for many years until I began having problems aspirating at night in 2016. I had my fill removed and I believe that caused the band to slip because I started having even more problems such as gastroparesis. I decided to have the band removed in 2017 - I had already gained about 30 lbs. when I quit smoking earlier that year and believed my weight had stabilized. Long story short, over the next 2 years I gained another 50 lbs for a total of 70 lbs. (BMI 32) I had lap band to sleeve revision surgery in Nov 2019 and self-paid by going to Tijuana for surgery.
  17. I am 11 days out from surgery I was cleared to start purée diet on Jan 13th 🥳 I did a weight check in today and I am down 8.4 pounds from surgery day weight! This liquid diet has been quiet a struggle for me.
  18. the first few months you're really not eating enough to worry about calories. For me, it could be a struggle just to get in everything I was supposed to get in (like all that protein!). I didn't start counting calories until I could physically eat enough to worry about it - like after around 10 or 12 months. Once in maintenance, I focused on protein (as usual...) and overall calories.

Thanks! Wasn't my surgery on 12/26/19 just a couple of weeks after OP's surgery date of 12/10/2019? Or did I reply to the wrong post?

    April 2019 Surgeries!

Doing great since surgery. I could be doing better to reach my protein goals but make up for it with a shake. It's amazing how little I can eat still. I can just now finish an egg and haven't yet finished a chobani yogurt. I have about 18 more pounds to loose to reach my goal weight and may have to add in more snacks after that to stay in maintenance. I'm not counting calories just trying to reach my protein goals right now. Hope all my April 2019 brothers and sisters are doing good! We're almost to our one year anniversary! 21. Oh yes, it happened to me too. FYI there's a "slow loser" thread in the forums. I stalled after six months. Then I got frustrated and ate some cookies and doughnuts and gained a few lbs (less than 10) but now at a year post-op I'm back on track and losing again. I think my body needed the break.

    6mpo weight loss stopped?!

I'm only 10 weeks post op still mostly on shakes. Try not to go over 20g carbs. Around 500-600cal a day. No sugar. High protein. I'm not sure if I need to increase protein or calories or start exercise to help with those final kgs. You should find a local dietitian mate. Are you Australian?
  24. saw this post was revived and realized I am the original poster - go figure! lol. I am a 49 year old female was 48 at surgery.... I also have pcos and am a slow loser. I started at 307 and was 285 on the day of my surgery on 10/01/2019. Today I was 251. I'm happy with the loss but I know I'm much slower than most. I'm actually becoming more okay with the slow loss thanks to the support of this board. 🙂I should also add that I have not done any exercise other than walking so hopefully once I do some exercise that will help.
