The BEST NSV for me EVER!!!

wow....i'm down to 211 and my size 20's are starting to get cleaned outta my closet (as of today actually)...most of them are just too baggy to be comfortable anymore...i wonder if i can hit up Old Navy now! that would totally ROCK! i've only gotten to buy clothes for my hubby & son in there and NEVER for myself!!! wow, i'm totally going to try it out! i'm thinking i'm going to need 18's AND hoping that some 16's will fit, depending upon where i shop. most of my shirts are now 16/18 but most of the pants i owned were down to a size 20. with the exception of the pair i'm wearing now, which is the smallest i own, and they're an 18 but not fitting 100% like i want them too....they're getting to become too big too. probably will only be able to wear them and still look decent for another week or two. i feel a SHOPPING TRIP coming on!!! thanks for the NSV!!! now i know i can try a new store!!! so excited! xoxo, Christie

    My "large" Size Nsv

LOVE IT! GREAT NSV! AND I WANT ONE OF THOSE TOO! Are they on sale yet, so expensive LOL!
  6. Well I started the summer season with my kids today by going to the local Water park. Even though I have lost 100 lbs since last summer, I found myself still getting nervous while driving there....keep the cover up on or take it off were my thoughts. I decided to ditch the cover up and go with bathing suit only. Even with all my loose skin, I felt good having the confidence to not wear a cover up over my suit for the first time in over 10 years. I also had the best time climbing the water jungle gym with my 5 yo daughter. Now you must know that this area has water pouring from every direction, slides, climbing nets, a ton of stairs, and the need to dodge children of all ages at a moments notice. I managed all of this with skill and grace...well maybe not grace. It felt amazing to be able to run around, climb stairs, NOT afraid that I would get stuck in the slide on the way down and actually not getting stuck in any part of the smaller spaces of this contraption. Another reason to be happy with my choice of having the sleeve done. I say this everyday but today it really hit home "BEST THING I EVER DID FOR MYSELF and MY FAMILY"!!! Hope others had a good day and if you didn't....please have a good one tomorrow.
  7. Wonderful onederland! Congratulations on on your weight loss and even more so, your NSV's!

    My first NSV!!!

After 2 months and 7 days, I am only down 13 pounds. However, I went today and purchased the same pair of black pants that I love, but in a smaller size! How many pounds do people typically lose between one size and the next one down? Thanks!

    Belt NSV!!

I have yet to get a new belt for work. I just keep adding holes to my old one. Today for fun I buckled it to my pre surgery hole. Loved the results think I'll keep this belt as long as possible just for motivation.
  10. So last night I took my teenage daughter (14) to the movies. We were in the process of getting ready and she starts freaking out! She says " MOM!!! What the heck?!" I being in shock was like "What , what happened?!" She says "You're wearing my freaking underwear!!" I immediately flipped the tag over and sure enough they were hers! She bought the same ones as me only two sizes smaller. I, being thoroughly amused started doing the booty shaking victory dance. She however was not near as amused as I was. That's ok though because I got a new NSV AND I inherited a new pair of undies!! For some reason she insisted that I keep them! So when I say "funniest" what I really mean is funniest for me. Ha!! Winning!!!

    Funniest NSV yet!

@@Elode - dang if that didn't happen to me today. My son was here, our laundry was mixed up because he doesn't take stuff out of the dryer and when I put on my underwear they felt better, checked the tag to see what brand I wanted to pick up to replace the rapidly uncomfortable lose stuff, and realized "dang it's my stud college student, state champion swimmer's underwear." I'm feeling pretty NSV right now.

Do you need to lose those pounds you've gained?

Well now that the weekend is over I guess it’s time to get back to business as usual! I was a bad girl this weekend. Well, for the most part… I would be good all the way up until lunch hour and then I would backslide. My scale showed it too. I ended up gaining a whole pound in that time. But… thank goodness it wasn’t more! It could always be worse is what I try to tell myself. How do I know? Well I gained almost 200 Lbs in a matter of 5 years (maybe less), that’s how! I know I was on a tear – a good one – or however you want to phrase it. I know one thing is for sure though, I WILL NEVER AGAIN allow myself to get like that. This time was different… I caught it and now I’m trying with all of my might to take a hold on those reigns and bring it back in. I don’t think I’m doing too badly, and I will definitely not let any of my setbacks end this journey for me. The journey only ends when I reach Kingdom Come! So, today I have been a very VERY good girl. J Yay me! I’m drinking all my water; I’m setting my food rations for the day and I’m sticking to it! I got my walk in already even. Whoop! I feel really good! The reason I went out so early was it’s getting so warm here in California already. I love it though, truly! I’m a Cali Girl through and through. It is also that time for me. I can feel the cravings rearing it’s ugly head. It’s no wonder I had such a terrible weekend with my eating. I do want to say this though, and it’s a major NSV… I DIDN’T CAVE IN TO THE chips CRAVINGS!! Oh and I wanted so soooo bad! You have no idea, really. In fact, we were all driving to San Francisco to see a Giants Baseball game, and someone in the car had a big bag of Lay’s Potato Chips. Hey, don’t get me wrong, I’ll eat those up too given the chance. My brain was all fired up, wanting some of those little devil creations! I could smell em too… oh my… OH MYYYYYY!!! But, I didn’t do it. I closed the bag up and threw em in the back seat. I succeeded! Normally I just eat them and don’t even think about it – but not this time! I did great as far as I’m concerned. Especially knowing that this is TOM, where usually I’m tearing em up! Well, I won’t give up and I won’t give in. So that makes today, DAY 16!! Yeah! Over two weeks and counting!!!! Right now I’m drinking my Slim Fast shake and I’ll have some jerky after. I drink my shake first so my belly gets full, then I eat the jerky so it will prevent hunger later. Here is something I’ve noticed too however and maybe I’m onto something? With those little Slim Shots it seems my entire appetite is different even. The reason I say this is, I didn’t have any on Saturday or Sunday, yet my appetite was crazy. I’m really talking about that head hunger here. But, today I took one again right before my Cereal, and the head hunger seems to be quiet today. It’s a bit strange, but I think (for me) it’s helping with the head hunger too. I haven’t felt any REAL hunger at all yet today, except for right before my cereal. Well, I guess that’s it for today. I’ll see what the rest of the day holds – and I hope it’s good!

    Nsv

I had my 6 week follow-up appointment yesterday and I have lost 30% of my excess body fat! My doctor said most people are only around 15% at my stage, so I'm ahead of the game! Oh and I also got accepted into grad school!
  14. I'm so thankful for this site to be able to hear about everyone else's progress and experiences. It has definitely helped me though a lot of times especially in the first couple of weeks after surgery. I'm just over 2 months out from my surgery. I have those moments when I wonder if I've made enough progress or if I'm not doing well enough. There's no real guidebook to having weight loss surgery. I keep reminding myself to look at the positive changes since surgery. Yesterday I had an exciting NSV when I got to buy a plain XL shirt and some skinny jeans. Those moments are so exciting and always seem to catch me by surprise. I find a lot of times I don't really see the changes in my body when I look in the mirror. Looking at pictures makes a big difference. I have my first set of progress pics attached. The picture on the right was just taken in December 2016. I was wearing a size 24 pant and 3XL shirt. The picture on the right was taken yesterday. I had on size 18 jeans and XL shirt.
  15. Ok, so I needed new jeans because I had two pairs of 16s. One was too baggy in the thighs and the other too tight on the butt. I picked up a pair of 16 capris and just for fun a pair of 14s. I looked at those 14s and thought no way they'd even come over my thighs! Well they did! Then thought no way I'd be able to button them! I did! I left with a size 14 capri. I've gone from a tight 22 to a 14 in 7 1/2 months. I remember being a 16 in junior high don't remember ever being a 14! Why don't I see myself so much smaller than I've ever been?!? Just one and a half more points and I will no longer be at an obese BMI. I started at 44!

    May Bandsters~March Chat!

Well, I'm glad to report a loss this week of 6 whopping pounds since the fill (last Mon). Now, why didn't she do that sooner? Myra ~ Thank U so much for posting the letter from Diane. It was great to here some news about her. If you get the chance, please tell her there are many on here that care a great deal for her and would love to see her post when she is up to it. Now on to you......HOLY COW.....you have some AWESOME NSV's!! You are on you way....you little elliptical "sprinter". :biggrin1: BTW, my entire family is going to be in your neck of the woods next week. We are going to be looking for homes, schools, & such. Can't wait to hook up with you. Maybe sometime late summer?? Kim ~ You poor thing. :cry I just hate to hear about you going through that. I hope my DW stays a PB virgin :nervous, but I do understand the concept of eating too fast & not paying close enough attention. It's so easy to do. Did you drink some aloe vera juice afterward? Are you doing alright now? Any lasting effects? Take care my friend. Drews ~ Maybe you do need some more Protein since you have intense workouts at derby practice. Try a Protein shake b4 your practice or an Isopure. Not that familiar with sparkpeople, but have your tried listing your food intake at fitday.com? It will give you a break down of the Proteins & such so you'll know exactly what your taking in. Another thought is that you have had a tremendous success with your band and perhaps your body is just leveling off for awhile. Let us know how things go. :phanvan Regarding your side note.....I have felt the same way for a long time now. It's been the same stuff for months. Unfortunately, a good bit of the time, it's lopsided. Even kept me from posting. I guess the R & R serves it's purpose and keeps the fingers flying on keyboards. :tired

    The Kind Words of Strangers

Thanks everyone! What is NSV?? I went to a friends daughters birthday party yesterday. There were lots of old friends there that I havent seen in about a year. Each person saw me and there mouth just dropped. One woman said "you are just melting away!" Another didnt speak to me for about an hour. When I approached her and asked how she was doing, her reply was OMG, Karen is that you. She didnt even recognize me with my weightloss and new hairstyle. I hadnt seen her since right after my surgery 2 yrs ago. I love this. So close to ONEderland. I hope to be there in the next week or two. Thanks for all the support everyone!

Haha so true. I dont think I've ever weighed what my license says I do when I renewed it. Tee hee. And great NSV!! amazing
  21. I used to float around the pool on my back. Discovered yesterday during my first swim of the season that I sink now. Can't float! My ballast is gone! I just think this is so funny.
  22. Carol P

NSV: I don't float in the pool anymore!

This made me laugh out loud and really made my day. I know I still float! I made a long, long list of about 100 NSV's that I anticipate to achieve and I'll have to add this to the list. I'm going to mark them off with the date I achieved them. I've been around Water my whole life and was a swim instructor and life guard and always been a good floater! I can't wait to SINK for once in my life! Thanks for sharing this NSV, NMJG Carol

    Costco Rocks! And NSV.

Losing your pants is the gold standard of NSVs. Congratulations!

    What is happening

People post here daily expressing disappointment that they haven't seen the big numbers they see other posting. 7 lbs is a good weight loss. You should be proud of that. As mentioned everyone loses at their own pace. The less you have to lose, the harder it may be. Follow your program, get in your protein and fluids. Exercise as much as you safely can. The weight loss will happen. I promise you. In the meantime, step away from the scale. Don't weigh yourself more than once a week. Even then do it at the same time of the day on the same day of the week. Take your measurements and look for other NSV. At 17 days post-op it's too early to tell how fast/slow your weight loss will be.
