Hello November sleevers! 11/4/19 I'm following Dr and RD as close as possible. My biggest struggle is weakness which has been ongoing. Im down 37 lbs and averaging 2.3 a week. Getting protein in at 65 -75 a day along with water. Adding small portions of food as directed. Weakness affects energy etc etc. See Dr. again 2/18. Do any of you have similar symptoms? Thanks! January 2020 Surgery Date
rene50 replied to Krimsonbutterflies's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good luck to all the January bunch who have surgery this week! I can't wait to hear how everyone is doing. ❤️ My surgery is still 2 weeks away, so I started my pre-op diet today which is much, much milder than most of the pre-op diets I've read about on here. My diet includes small, healthy, high protein, low fat meals, no high- sugar fruits, refined carbs, sodas, etc., then fasting after 8pm the day before surgery. It's interesting how doctors have so many different guidelines! Congrats Jeslpayn on losing 10 lbs in 2 weeks! 😊 -

jeslpayn replied to Krimsonbutterflies's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery is Thursday! Tomorrow is my last day or pre-op diet and I’ve lost 10 lbs in 2 weeks. Wednesday is all liquid for me. Still not sure what time my surgery is Thursday, but I will find out the day before. I’m so ready, nervous, excited, scared, hopeful! -

10/28 sleeve, down 50 since surgery, about 104 since I started my own journey in July. I hit a mini stall and then upped my exercise. That did it for me. -
I added 10 years to my life by reducing my BMI from 37 to 31. If I get it low enough, I'll start aging in reverse!

Lap band to gastric bypass
JRT Mom replied to angievasser42@gmail.com's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I said the same thing to my surgeon, "this ain't my first rodeo". I learned all the good habits for WLS with my lap band like don't drink while you eat or soon after, little bites and chew well, not snacking, etc and I think it made the revision to a bypass easier since I have had those habits for 10 years already. I had my surgery Nov 20 and the first 20 pounds fell off in three weeks. Now it's a much slower loss, but still happening! I'm only 12 pounds away from the lowest I ever got with my lap band so I'm confident I'll reach that and surpass it. But yes, it WAS more painful than getting the lap band but you'll get over that fairly quickly. It took me about 5 days before I felt like a human being again... -
Oh, Just Another Plastics Story
BayougirlMrsS replied to GreenTealael's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
back in 2012.... i had the band placed in 2009.... maintained my wl so i got a TT with lipo of the flanks. After the band had to be removed i put on 30lbs..... Since 8/28/19 (sleeve) i lost those 30 + 8.5 more. I'll send you a PM. Eat/drink pineapple juice it helps with swelling..... keep that garment on 23 hours a day... I only took mine off to shower. I put that giant Kotex across my incision to help and a panty liner to keep my Kitty cat clean during the day. First week i slept in recliner..... I was back at my desk job in 12 days -
How are my fellow December surgeries doing?
Tomkat replied to lys's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I had the sleeve on 12/9. Lost 23.2 lbs since surgery. 21 on the liquid diet prior to that. So down 44lbs since 11/18/19. I can feel a difference, but can’t see one. And I feel like it’s coming off at a snails pace. But as long as the scale is down, not up, I’ll take it as a win! -
Lap band to gastric bypass
Mark.olypenn replied to angievasser42@gmail.com's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
For those that have had revisions from Lap Band to Gastric By-Pass, did your weight loss happen as you expected? What difficulties and advise would you share? My band was removed Dec 10, and the gastric by-pass is scheduled Feb 27. With my band I had already significantly reduced my portions, and eliminated many foods, like pasta, etc. I have been told that the life style changes required may easier due to my 14 years with a band. However, the weight loss may take longer. -
9 plus years post op and weight gain
BayougirlMrsS replied to chequitaluv's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Perfect suggestions.... I try and keep my portions to 1/8 & 1/8 & 1/8.... I don't eat the Protein bar as the ones i like are high in sugar. I have one slice of bread and divide it. 1/2 for Saturday and 1/2 for Sunday..... Daves Powerseed.... i toast it very dry. I agree.... logging in a guess is better than not at all..... I never logged when i had the band... Then i started gaining after she slipped back 3-2017. Gained 30lbs back... i started logging and realized how much i was really eating.... Sleeved 8/28/19..... lost those 30 + 8.5 more. Had to remind myself when i had NO WLS.... just because i could eat it... didn't mean i should. -

10/28 Sleeve - down 32.00 since surgery but 62 since I began the journey last January 2019 -
That stuck feeling is the worst! It's funny because I still feel restriction with it completely unfilled. It slows me down so at least I'm not GAINING weight. But I'm right where I was when I got it in the first place so it still feels pretty useless. Oh well, I don't plan on having surgery again for maybe another 8-10 months (we're planning to move in March and I want to get settled in a new home before pursing surgery with recovery and whatnot). I'm just trying to do more thorough research now, and find out what I should be doing (if anything) to prepare for surgery. I appreciate your responses! Congrats on the weight loss

Things got done this weekend............. Started with the underwear.... there is no reason one person needs 90 pair of underwear. Why do the call them pair when it's just one... Hmmmm. Got them down to 50. So most of you know i had the band done in 2009 and got down to 143... size 6... very few 4's. Anyway, i never got rid of them because the weight came on 5lbs here 10lbs there... till i had put back 30lbs after the removal. Fast forward to Aug 28, 2019.. Sleeve. Back down, but lower than before and now a lot of the size 6's are too big. So my wonderful husband took me shopping Saturday at Chico's and left with 4 new shirts and 3 new pants. Went home and started the purge..... went through EVERYTHING in my closet and my skirts now fit and a **** ton of pants, all my dresses that were making me look like stuffed sausage... fit... Now i get to shop in my closet again. I did manage to throw out a pile at least 2' high of stuff that is 2x too big. Tonight i get to go through Shorts, sleeveless tops and workout clothes..... after crossfit... i can see a bunch of OOTD post.... Today, are a pair of olive chico's pants bought before band removal.... and a plain white shirt.... I know.. it's too big... but i love it. Pants are too big in the waist... but they fit everyplace else...

Where are my 3months warriors?
Cherylmilla replied to NCmomof3_fightsback's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Surgery 10/28, down 50 lbs since surgery. Well out of the 300s. Lost over 100 lbs since I started in July 2019 (I lost more than 50 lbs before surgery) Energy is off the charts and so much more active. So happy and thankful every day. I'm doing the best I can, for me, but struggle not to compare myself with others. I work on that, every day. -

Pathetic Pity Party, for 1 please?! 😟 I feel like I have totally wasted this post-op 'honeymoon'. Its almost like all the good attention and progress I have made has almost sabotaged my mind. Ill think 'Ive done so good!', really feel like Ive got this. Ya know...no big deal if I eat this ________, Ive lost 70 pounds. But then I carry on, creeping on the weight pound by pound. Wtf man. So stupid. Why am I doing this to myself?! -

Hey all! I am frustrated! Can you tell by the title of my post? Lol! I had surgery on 4/9/19 and although I am down 71lbs, I have been stalled for 3 months now! I've only lost 6lbs since October. I'm not sure what is going on. I will say, back in April of 2017, I did have a Total Abdominal Hysterectomy so maybe my hormones are all over the place. I need advice BAD. Has anyone experienced this long of a stall? If so, how did you come out of it? I am grateful for this tool and am trying to get all I can out of it. HELP!

10/28 RNY down 59lbs since surgery... -
Dr. Christopher Carlson performed my gastric sleeve surgery on December 10th, 2019. His honesty and bedside manner is what I appreciate most about him. He doesn’t sugarcoat anything, yet he is able to put my mind at ease with his positive attitude. I had no complications, besides not doing well with the morphine they gave me after surgery. After the dry heaving from the pain medicine subsided, my pain was minimal, and my incisions healed quickly. Dr. Carlson and his team prepared me as much as possible before the surgery, and they made sure I had all the information I needed after the surgery. I would highly recommend him to anyone in the Augusta area and beyond.

I'm so upset, I'm a slow loser
Joy2me replied to Panda333's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just would like to add that losing 10 lbs a month is not slowly losing. It’s perfect weight loss. Yes, most people may drop quickly in the beginning, but that is a fool’s gold in water weight. Gradually, you drop off to 2 lbs a week as you gradually add calories and carbs. For me, this happened at 8 weeks. I’m 10 weeks now. -
Hello, I was sleeved on 12/11/19. So far I am down 23lbs. I hit a two week stall, but I realized I wasn't eating or drinking enough water.

December 2019 Sleevers, how are you doing? What’s your stats?
Dreashall replied to smb123's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was sleeved on 12/11/19 weighed myself yesterday...down 25lbs. I was stalled out at 17lbs down for 2 weeks(frustrating indeed) but I realized that I wasn't drinking enough water (thanks for the reminder Constipation!). This past week I really focused on getting 60-70 oz of water in addition to my 60 grams of protein. I was released to full activity on this past Thursday, so I will see what exercising will add to the scale moving more. -
