I know there's a lot of controversy around GENEPRO, but my surgeon's office recommends it. And I love it.

I'm over whey Protein shakes myself. I've started using plain soy Protein Powder with soy milk and 2 tbs of PB2. On Amazon, I buy Bulk supplements Pure Soy Isolate Protein Powder. I also learned about GENEPRO unflavored protein supplement on this site. I ordered it but haven't gotten it yet. You can add it to anything and it isn't supposed to alter flavor or texture too much. Thanks. I will try the egg white Protein. I think I have a sample of some somewhere. I found one way that I can bearably use my unflavored protein (Genepro). I mix it with Koolaid (sweetened artificially). I wouldn't have that every day, but it is bearable when I need the protein. Since chicken makes me nauseous I grabbed up as many Shady Brook Farms turkey thighs as I could and froze them. I cook 2 large thighs at a time in the slow cooker overnight and the meat is like pulled pork. Then I make turkey salad and eat it alone or with half a piece of whole wheat toast or with whole wheat saltines. Fat free refried Beans with a little bit of lowfat cheese is delicious. I just picked up these items which each have at least 10g protein (the sausage, egg white, and cheddar one has 16g) Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I started blending the chocolate RTD with ice after surgery. The shake was too thick right out of the carton and did have a funny smell and after taste to me. The ice and blending loosened it up a little and made it tolerable (and gave it a little crunch which made it more appetizing from the ice chunks). I switched to GENEPRO and haven't looked back, a little frozen fruit, ice and genepro and I have myself a fruit smoothy everyday.

Noosa yogurt?
QueenOfTheTamazons replied to char3672's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I typically eat the oikios triple zero. Every once in a while (like today) I have a Noosa and add in some GENEPRO. How much depends on what flavor (pumpkin covers the taste of a full serving). HW 385 SW 359 CW 305 Sleeved 10/5/16 -
Protein vs Calories what's too much
smith08817 replied to Renea Glover's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It sounds like you are packing a lot of calories into a shake. Try using Crystal Light for flavor, unflavored protein powder like Genepro which has far fewer calories than flavored whey protein, and water. My doctor says 90 grams of protein a day and stay under 50 grams of carbs. The total calories ends up between 600-800 depending on what my other sources of protein are plus vegetables or small amount of fruit. Portion size is key - no more than 3 oz of meat and then add in a very small salad or some veg. I would eat the yogurt alone for breakfast and have a protein shake mid-morning. This forum is a good place to look for ideas from people who have been through what you are experiencing. Good luck! -
Honest truth about genepro protein powder

I've been using the GENEPRO and like that I can put it into anything. Does anyone know if there are other brands of flavorless Protein available on the market? Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App -

26lbs, that is amazing!! I am using an unflavored protein powder, GENEPRO. 30g in one scoop. Really does not have flavor as mixes completely into all food I have tried as long as the food is not too hot. I was also over all the sweet and artificial sweeteners. This powder has been a life saver. I have also had days where water has a weird taste. It is odd because I am drinking the same brand of bottle water and some days it just taste bitter almost. Those days I mix some lemonade crystal light into my water and it makes it easier. I am never hungry either but make myself eat some because my body cannot heal without it. Keep pushing yourself little by little, it will get better. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Hey! Where do you buy your Genepro from -- Amazon? Currently on Protein shakes but if I can mix it into my food later that'd be cool too. Can't wait till next week when I can have pudding. Do you think it's the best flavorless protein powder? I was going to order my genepro from Amazon but thought I would check out GNC just in case. GNC does carry it and it was a few dollars cheaper. Do you think it's the best flavorless protein powder? I do get it from Amazon about $1.10 a serving (30grams protein) when you buy the 90 serving container. I haven't tried others brands so I can't say how it compares. I tend to find something I like and that works for me and stick to it. DS surgery 12/14/2016

I drink broth with GENEPRO in it and it seems to satisfy the late night food cravings. If it is a sweet craving I mix genepro in sugar free pudding. DS surgery 12/14/2016

Hi! I'm only day 5 post op but have a question... When you make your protein drink it's at least 8 oz right? Is this a meal replacement for you or a snack in addition to your meals? Confused on how someone said they can take a Greek yogurt and glass of Oj with genpro in morning.. Wouldn't that be too much for stomach?? Thanks for your insight Sent from my XT1585 using the BariatricPal App Hi! I put one scoop of Genepro (30 gram protein equiv) in about a quarter cup of OJ. So overall very little volume. I take it almost like a shot glass of alcohol. At first I had to take smaller sips. I also have a standard serving of Greek yogourt and my multivitamins in the morning with it. Hope that clarifies! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Thanks for that, that makes sense. I was thinking you did 8oz of oj. Gonna try genpro, doing unjury now and I can taste it Sent from my XT1585 using the BariatricPal App

Coffee Question?
Yardsleever replied to Coachthex32's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know each practice is different, but my doctor allows 12oz of coffee per day from day one. I add GENEPRO to my one cup a day to have it do double duty! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using the BariatricPal App -

Honest truth about genepro protein powder
scipiobabe replied to PittsburghRNYgirl9814's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
HI I am a true fan of the GENEPRO Protein I ordered it from Amazon the other day and I just got it by mail on friday. I tried it for the first time and OMG!!! absolutely AMAZING. I put it in my chicken broth it has no taste and the broth is like it has nothing in it. If you ever had coffee and you put the creamer in it and it may change the color of the coffee but it dissolves well this is how it does but it doesn't change the color its odorless and all. I would drink this forever......... BTW it is 50.00 for a 45 day supply and 39.00 for a 30 day supply 1 tablespoon is 30 grams of protein at amazon but you can go on genepro.com. -
