I have been doing great, sticking to my less than 1000 calories a day and have lots of energy. The weight is coming off slowly, but better than it going up. I still have not had a fill, but think I might ask for one...Anyway to the point. If you read my blog, I am treating myself well, I can afford to since I eat so little. Well Saturday night I cooked the two lobster tails I had bought at the first of the month (by the way lobster is dirt cheap right now due to the economy), I digress. Anyway, yesterday I worked in the yard all day, I mean all day, then came in and got a shower. I decided I would eat the second lobster tail, they are only 6 ounces out of the shell, yes I weighed them, I weigh everything so I can track my calories. So I popped that bad boy in the microwave to heat it up and since I had been so good I also heated up a turkey patty. So I sat down in front of the TV to eat, with my small fork and my surf and turf. I get most of the way through it and I get that feeling that you get when you are suppose to stop. I thought what the hell only a couple more bits, who is going to throw away lobster. That is when it happened. This horrible pain mid-way down my chest, OK, I jump up run around the house for a few hoping it will go through, not so lucky the pain get worst, then I start the sliming, all a sudden I am spitting out slim, a lot of it. Then I belch a few times, it continues on for several minutes and then the food goes down which is way better than up. It made eating very unpleasant. I even thought about just doing shakes, that was how bad it was. But man can not live on shakes, so tonight I bakes 6 ounces of flounder and it went down without issue, of course I was very slow eating. I did not want to repeat that ever again. You may also remember me mentioning my new toy the Magic Bullet, which I mix my shakes in, well, now with the vanillas Chike and some fruit, I have tried, cherries, mango, blueberry's and raspberries (blueberries are the best). It is a great treat like a dessert. I limit myself to one a day since I still have to come in under 1000 calories. I have done so well I tried on my 42 waist pants today, wishful thinking, still a ways to go. But it did start my day out more determined. I go to group on Thursday and will update my ticker after I get an official weight. Stay the course.

 A New Day! I am feeling more positive today. I got up this morning, had my cup of coffee and a small bowl of cereal...only 160 with milk. Then I made my lunch. (this is a huge step for me, I never leave myself enough time to make lunch, and then I end up eat school lunch...lots of calories and fat...bad ) I made a small caesar salad.. only 200 calories with the dressing, parmesan, and 5 croutons....can't wait to eat it. I also got to school in time to walk the halls for a half hour while listening to my iPod...this too is a great accomplishment for me. My goal for this week is to write down everything I eat, and stay under 900 calories a day. I am having a heck of a time with no fluid in my band, so I have to be very very careful. I have officially gained 18 lbs since my Dec. 28th appointment  when I was so dehydrated and passing out. So I am telling myself that about 10lbs was from being dehydrated and the rest is due to my lack of self control. So I am officially taking back control and I am going to lose that 18 by my March appointment without fluid in my band....

Need Your Book Ideas!
terry1118 replied to Alex Brecher's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I never tire of the stories, they keep me motivated. The negative stories are just as important as the positive ones. I think it's important to hear from people who have had complications and how they were dealt with, as it could happen to any one of us. Bad experiences brought on by poor choices are just as educational, too. All these things can help a person decide if weight loss surgery is right for them, and if it is, they know what to expect when things don't go as expected. In all my research I had the hardest time finding veteran stories from people five or more years out. I wanted to know if they had continued success, health issues, unforseen problems, how they handled the life-style changes long-term, etc. Whether on not they'd do it again. Please include some of these stories in your book. For my part, I would like to see a book made up ENTIRELY of personal stories, good and bad, inspiring and informative. Reading about other peoples experiences helped me to make an informative decision. -
What if it doesn't work?
Djmohr replied to bbp4114's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I think most of us have this worry but as you learn more you gain strength. If you believe you can do it and are willing to change I promise it will happen for you. Already you recognize the need for counseling and are taking those steps. Now it is time to take control of you. Once you decide you can do something there will be NO stopping you! -
pounds lost vs. inches lost
Michelle Wolfe replied to rass21's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You're looking great! Don't let your surgeon get you down, you are still very early in your journey. Keep in mind that everyone loses at different rates! As long as you are sticking to whatever plan your surgeon recommends, the weight will come off eventually! I am almost a year out and still losing, it just takes time. -
I didn't think anything could possibly give the results that I have, but it did...and it surpassed my expectations.... I am 63 years old, and I'm now the same healthy - fit weight I was 45 years ago in High School. You didn't say what surgery you are considering......I had lap band surgery and can only give experiences from that. I tried everything to loose weight, failed time after time.....Weight loss surgery did it....so what if it was the easy way out (for me)...it worked and that is all that matters.

Is it me or some of those around me who's attitude has changed?
PrettyThick1 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Suddenly, I'm not feeling the love that fat Gwen felt. Suddenly, I get the feeling that others are talking about me behind my back. Others who have always normally been in my corner through thick and thin. I'm wondering if it's my attitude that has changed? I certainly feel more confident, outgoing and attractive, but does that resonate as cockiness, egoism and/or grandeur to the outside world? We're told not to give too much credit to how others interpret us, I try to deal with it by thinking: Some may regard me as an angel, others the devil. I will give no merit to either perspective because their assessment is based upon their life experiences and not my own. Anyway, I have to be honest that with the weight loss, I seem to also be losing "friends". It could be a coincidence. It could be God's way of helping me to declutter my life: physically, emotionally and socially. Who knows? I'll press on nonetheless because I realize there are many people out there waiting for me to fail. To see the weight added back on, so I can be the fluffy, cute one in the bunch who makes everyone else look smaller and sexier. Hells to the naw! I'm one of the sexy now...deal with it or deal without me. #drops mike and skips of stage -
Tips To Jump Start Metabolism At Plateau?
Skinny_Jill replied to Electrawoman's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have been banded for 4.5 years. I lost 60 pounds and kept it off but couldn't lose the last 30. I finally got serious last year and I lost it. I eat very little at night and that was the biggest difference for me. I would what ever I wanted for lunch but very little and sometimes nothing at night. I didn't exercise because I was recovering from knee surgery. I got below my goal weight. I didn't think I would ever get into the 120's. Good luck! -
Has any Diabetics W/ Symptoms gotten better?
catfishhunta replied to blackonynx's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I stopped taking my glucotrol and glucophage after RNY surgery. With the limited diet and weight loss my sugar was under control within a couple of days. -
I'm very concerned. I am 3 months and 4 days post-op. I had the sleeve. I feel great! My surgery weight was 244 and tiday it's 187! I have dropped 3 clothing sizes! But my concern....I DO NOT TAKE IN ENOUGH CALORIES AND PROTEIN!!! Arghhh! I try ti eat. I push ti eat. I weigh out my portions. But i get 2 or 3 bus in and I'm done. I still can't tolerate some smells and some tastes of foods. I can't tolerate meats (this includes beef, chicken, and turkey). The highest amount of calories I have consumed a day has been 500, protein maybe 50. I'm losing weight fast but now I can actually feel my bones like when I sit out lay down. Any suggestions? Or am I being paranoid?? Sent from my LG-US996 using BariatricPal mobile app

I have over the ear hearing aids that I got from the VA ( many years on the flight line). They are over the ear and into the ear canal type. My question is this, would weight loss make them not fit correctly anymore?

Hellllllp! Finalizing decision between LB and bypass. Need imput please!
Wheetsin replied to Mrs. S's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Just my thoughts, worth what you're paying for them... In a sitution where the time to get the weight off is truly a life or death matter, I would advocate RNY. I don't say that lightly b/c I'm not a fan of the procedure, but if it's "lose weight in a year or you will die" -- then RNY is probably your best option. -
Hellllllp! Finalizing decision between LB and bypass. Need imput please!
Dody replied to Mrs. S's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You stated you have very serious health issues. I have no idea what they are, but I have serious issues of my own. I've had 5-way-bypass heart surgery and cannot have RNY if I wanted it (which I don't). My doctors would not allow it. I'm curious as to your health issues, because whether we like to believe it or not RNY is a very complicated and serious surgery and you should be up to it. If your weight is the major problem and it has to come off quickly, than that decision has to be yours. I just wondered what you are facing, because RNY isn't for everyone. -
Hellllllp! Finalizing decision between LB and bypass. Need imput please!
3loves replied to Mrs. S's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Personally, I never considered WLS until I discovered the lapband. The biggest reason for me was the complications brought on by having the bypass and knowing the band is reversible. I have 2 small children and this is what is best for me. I don't know of anyone that has had the bypass and converted to the band, but I do know of people with the band converting to the bypass for whatever reason.....something to consider. Keep in mind that statistics are just numbers. You can't say that you will only lose 50% of your needed weight. You may lose more or you may lose less than that....each case is different. This I know to be true.....more people have died from the bypass surgery or complications than the lapband.....a huge factor in my personal decision. Another issue for my was praying. I have no idea of your religious beliefs, but for me personally, this was a tremendous help in guiding my decision. Now I have no doubts. :biggrin1: Oh...thought of something else....the bypass surgery makes food decisions for you IMO. The lapband requires more of an effort to make good food choices. I do wish you the very best in making the right decision. Look at the BIG picture and do what is best for you personally, not what someone else has done. :gluck: -
I was curious, does anyone do Weight Watchers with the lap band?

Calorie Intake for weight loss after weight gain.
merylinda replied to merylinda's topic in Food and Nutrition
Thank you! Yea, sadly they won’t lol My calorie intake eating as I would say like a beast protein after protein yesterday was about 600. Thankfully, I realized where I was gaining all the weight gain, it was from alcohol, I could drink a bottle of wine like it’s no ones business as I cleaned my home. So I quit the fun drinking and now am just focusing on fueling my body with what it needs -
Hey everyone, I was just wondering if you could tell me what a stall is. I know it's when you stop losing weight for a period of time but how long does it last and how did you get through it? I'm a very impatient person and I get a lot of anxiety when I'm not losing weight because I'm doing everything right and I'm just getting frustrated. Xx
