  1. I am wearing a pair of size 14's to work today. OMG! I am not even sure where they came from - I think a friend may have left them a long time ago! I found them while getting ready for my yard sale. Hubby has been gone about 10 days, I do not think I could have wore these jeans then! and today is weigh in day - I wonder if I have broke my stall...wish me luck. Everybody - keep going! Wherever you are don't stop! Good luck & God bless!

Congrats to all of you who have lost more weight, have had NSV's, etc. It's a wonderful thing! I'm in a downword spiral at this time myself .Fortunately, not gaining but plateauing like some of you out there. Perhaps the newness has worn off for us January bandsters and it's now down to blood, sweat and tears! I have stopped exercising for the past 3 weeks for one reason or another. One, having some work around the house and have to be up early for that and when they're not here, just being lazy. Finally, work is finished and I have nothing on the calendar in the morning {I'm a morning exerciser when I exercise}. I am now in my work out clothes and ready to get up in the gym after my tylenol kicks in! No more excuses. I'm still at 2.5 in my 10cc band. Have been stuck at least once a week but I think it's due to me not chewing enough. The past week I've been consciously chewing and haven't had a problem. I go next week for a fill although I can go tomorrow but fear I might have a problem like I did the last fill and don't want to have a problem over Memorial Day weekend. {my dr only does fills on Thurs nights which I'm not crazy about but have to go along with it}. One more thing, this weekend is my "phantom" time of the month {had hysterectomy at age 36 but still get all the symptoms despite no ovaries} so I've been finding I'm eating my go-to junk food at night. Salty nachos and melted cheese and fiber thin cookies. I think I'm ready for that fill! And on that note, I'm going to work out before I find an excuse not to!! Keep the faith, we will get there with one another's support.

Savanah- I know what you mean about wanting to know that your band is working, it is nice to feel that restriciton. That is too funny about the "I am sexy(restricted) and I know it" Those will be the words I hear when I hear that song from now on. NJ2NC- Congrats on the size 14, that is awesome! As for me, not much to report here. No more weight really lost, and if anything I have been less motivated and a little discouraged lately. I can hardly eat more that 5 bites of food at this point, since my last fill and I am not losing weight. It seems like if you can only eat tiny amounts, shouldn't the weight fall off? It is frustrating because I love to eat, that is how I got here, but I really can't eat much. I am going through this mental issue of wanting to eat, but not satisfying that want. I am glad I am banded because in the past this is when I would binge and blow that whole thing. I did have a good NSV this weekend. Someone took my pic while we were out and posted it on FB. I actually look skinny(ish) and I was so surprised. I posted my before pic with that pic in the Successes forum and got great feedback, it has been helpful for my depressed mood I have been in. I know that this is a process and I should be thankful for the 52lbs I have lost, but it is so hard. Whoever says that this is the easy way out has no idea what they are talking about. Ok, enough of my rant.
  4. Hunger... *sigh* it's been a rough afternoon for me. Celebrated my first nsv, then it was capoot. I'm less than a week out and I'm already wanting something "different". I pretty much cried all afternoon. No regrets, but it's a grieving process for me. I'm grieving the loss of my life time friend, lover and companion - food. Yes, I knew this was part of "it" - blah blah. It still has thrown me for a loop. However - actual hunger - nope, not yet! Good luck to you!
  5. Love my band so far banded 4/6/12 down 32 lbs. From pre op. But Did all the pounds come from the one part of my body I actually love ,My breasts ?!?!! I guess it's kind of a NSV but I put my phone in my L breast as usual when I leaned over it fell out.that has never happened.so i started to really check them out and they are kinda just sitting in loose LoL .I guess this is a good thing.not sure if I should get new brad just yet but thought it was interesting :-)

    The Mini Me :d

Ok, I've been trying to figure this out for 2 weeks but I just can't can't. What the hell is an NSV?? LOL
  7. a little NSV. Met a friend to watch a concert last night and when she saw me she exclaimed "Oh my word, you are disappearing!!! you look amazing!!"

  8. Wow... I had surgery on 5/17 and I just realized today how important the NSV's are. I just gotta say I LOOOOVE the new mini me - even though it's a work in progress! I've always been short n(5'2") and always felt like I was "too big for me". Make sense? I have sooo enjoyed eating and drinking out of my 1oz medicine cups, but I've gone on a shopping spree. I'm a lil over those cups - they remind me of working at the hospital. So I've bought several different baby spoons, baby bowls, baby forks, baby everything! I LOVE it! Ha! My purchase today: mini waters (8oz size - the bigger ones are just too overwhelming anymore!), but my favorite are 3oz disposable cups. My dr's office gave me one in my little care bag, and I used it already. I found them at WM by the other paper cups/plates. They are perfect. I've also bought several mini storage bowls. My boyfriend has officially banned me from buying one more dish or he's calling Hoarders. Silly lil NSV (the mini dishes, cups, etc.) but I love it... and think they're all so super cute! So... *cheers* to 3oz disposable cups! Shell
  9. I am two weeks post opt. I have lost 20.5 pounds including pre-opt diet (10). That has dropped me one size in pants. This is great b/c most of my clothes are at this size, especially summer stuff. I had very little stuff that fit at 20 lbs heavier so I was wearing workout clothes almost all the time when I was not at work. I pulled a pile of clothes off the top shelf in the closet to see if any fit again and every single piece fit! So I immediately got a bag and threw away the very few things I had in the larger size. I have always saved clothes thinking I may gain again but this time I wont do it. I am going down and not up again! Also, someone at work told me "what ever you are doing, keep it up, you are looking good". It is nice to get this recognition only 20 lbs down. I am very excited. I cannot wait for me! I needed this boost to keep me on track now that Iam in bandster hell waiting for first fill. That is all, best wishes to all my banded buddies. Oh, my friend that had surgery the same day as me, she has already been taken off her High Blood Pressure medicine completely! It is amazing what losing weight can do for our bodies.

    2 Week Diet Started

I only had to do a 1 day pre-opt diet but realized that I really didn't need to eat all the food that I was eating and had cut my portion sizes down to half. It wasn't easy, but it helped with losing some of my weight. You will be able to have Arby's if you choose later on, but in smaller portions. You will make different choices too, like taking the bread off. The protein is what I want, the bread doesn't taste that good anymore. I have passed my surgeon's goal, but my goal has not been met. But I do love my skinniness now! LOL Your thoughts are messing with you. Don't pay attention to them and switch your thinking to how much more energy you will have and how much more healthy you are going to be. Also, how much fun it will be to go shopping and have an abundance of clothes that are so darn cute, you will have a hard time choosing the cutest ones! The NSV's are great!

    3 More Days!!!!!!

We'll be eager to hear how it goes. Please send us an update when you feel like it. Best wishes for your surgery and congratulations on your first NSV!
  12. Oh, Neva, Everyone hits that three week stall. Yours may have come early since you have a lower BMI than a lot of us. Just keep looking for those NSVs and the SVs will follow right along! You're doing great!!!

    First Nsv

A Couple of years ago I bought this really cute bathing suit off season so it was pretty cheap but it was too tight. But since it was so cheap I had to buy it haha. Anyway, I'm going out of town to a friends house and she has a pool so just for giggles I tried the bathing suit on and it fit perfectly! It was even a little loose! Very exciting
  14. Just noticed my face has a square shape?? Not big and round like a freakin pumpkin!
  15. I am so so so happy and blessed to report that my feet do not hurt anymore at all! I had such bad edema and plantar facitis, I was seeing a physical therapist 2 days a week for the pain! Pain is GONE! 21lbs down, and I am feeling very good about my surgery! I have a slight feeling that this is going to be the very best investment I have ever made in myself!

    I Miss My Food

I am right there with all of you. The first 6 weeks or so was hard. My family loves food and, while they felt somewhat bad about it, their eating habits didn't change so I was constantly surrounded by their fast food, garlic bread, Pasta, steak, all the things I loved that I couldn't eat. Once I got to the solid foods stage I would try to incorporate some of my old favorites and I quickly realized that my taste buds had changed. I don't know if it was the sleeve or the fact that I went so long without it but food that I used to LOVE and overeat daily I no longer found appealing. So, I started giving in to my cravings with the underlined understanding that I probably wouldn't like it, and it worked. I craved a McChicken sandwich from McDonalds. Pre-sleeve I could have easily eaten three of them (PLUS a large fries) so I went and got one, took one bite, and was done. It tasted HORRIBLE. I haven't craved McDonalds since. Same thing with Taco Bell, french fries, and fried fish. I used to eat all of those things ALL the time, and I haven't touched them since. Not because I'm forcing myself not to but because I no longer find them appealing. They tasted bad, I don't want to eat them. Every so often someone will eat something that I want, especially at baseball games. I'm a huge Texas Rangers fan and I go to a lot of games. I smell garlic french fries, nachos, cheese fries, etc. Same thing. If I REALLY want it, I'll try it. I tried cheese fries. Blech. Huge waste of $8. I try foods that I used to love and I haven't hurt my sleeve (I did another barium swallow recently, my sleeve is perfect) and I've lost 100 pounds in 4 months. It may work for you, it may not, but its a constant learning process. You'll find foods you love that you can eat. Egg drop Soup is my new best friend. I loved it pre-sleeve, I love it post-sleeve. It's easy to eat, it's delicious, and it's full of Protein. Don't get discouraged. This is the best thing we could have done for ourselves and as that weight starts to fall off, all of those NSVs will start rolling in and you'll never look back. Good luck!

    Nsv For Me!

My surgeons office called today to ask if I would participate in their seminar this Thursday evening! What an honor! I have lost 86 pounds and I am only 3 pounds from a normal weight, 13 pounds from my personal goal and 14 pounds from losing 100 pounds! Woop! When I was at my seminar, they had about 10 people there who told there story and there were only two sleevers there. One of those was my inspiration and he really helped me. I hope to be someone elses inspiration. Its surreal to think that I am going to be one of those inspirational people! I told my husband at my seminar that I wanted to do that when I reached goal and now its here, I get to do one and I am only 9.5 months out from my surgery! Woooop! She also told me that they are performing more sleeves now than any other procedure but have mostly GB patients who come to the seminars for them. I will be the only sleever there representing! I better do us all proud! Now to pick an outfit to wear!

Where Are My April 2012 Sleevers?

Today had a nsv! I wore a shirt that I bought four years ago that never fit. In fact I wore it as a jacket! I wore it today and could button it up and it wad even loose! That shirt alone was worth the surgery!
