    Yesterday Saturday, Feb 1 Maintenance : 5'2" / 1.25 yr PO Sleeve / 116.9 lbs ---------------------------------------- Was a total lump on a log yesterday. I was so completely exhausted, I was literally falling into 20 minute naps. Spent most of the day either sleeping on the couch or on my laptop on the couch listening to the TV. Was doing ok food wise until about 2am when we raided the kitchen. Wasn't even hungry. Just bored and impatient for tennis to come on. Paid for it with a serious case of stomach cramps, pooping and death feelings. I knew it was going to happen WHILE I was eating my ice cream, but honestly, I didn't even care... ---------------------------------------- 9:00am - 1 skinny tea latte 1:00pm - salad w/ vinaigrette + carrots + cucumber + celery + 1.5 oz roasted brussel sprouts + 2 tbsp tuna salad (tuna, mayo, celery, spices) 2:30pm - 1 ATKINS coconut chocolate bar + 1 skinny tea latte 4:30pm - salad w/ vinaigrette + carrots + cucumber + celery + 2 oz avocado + 4 tbsp tuna salad + 1/2 fl oz pumpkin seeds 7:30pm - shiratake noodles + 1/3 cup pasta sauce + anchovies + capers + 1/2 tsp grated parm cheese 10:30pm - salad w/ vinaigrette + 2.5 oz roasted brussel sprouts + 1/2 fl oz pumpkin seeds 12:30am - 1 skinny tea latte 2:00am to 4:00 am - 2 mini almond biscottis 3 mini chocolate crinkle cookie 1 mini marzipan cookie 1 After Eight chocolate mint 1 cup ginger ice cream + 2 oz candied ginger 2 skinny tea lattes ---------------------------------------- Totals: 1942 cals - 60g Protein 164g NET carbs - 97g fat

    OH NO, I hope you are not purging our twin pants suit?! I need to try it on again - SO much has changed since that date of November 7, 2019! Wow. And, here we are in February already... Three months later.
  3. I start my pre op diet next Saturday. I have done very well on the three month period losing about 10 pounds. For the next week I plan to go to my favorite Thai and Italian restaurants as well as make some really good meals: steak and potatoes, creamy casseroles, etc. During the liquid phase I will make some meals up for my husband for later as well as some soups that I can puree when I get to that stage.

That’s also a good clear drink in between the protein or as I said mix it for taste. I personally had a hard time tolerating the clear protein especially straight up. im surprised you didn’t get a clear liquid list. Bone broth is great for clear liquids. You can have decaf coffee or tea but no milk. Jello. I personally don’t recommend crystal light but some people do. best of luck to you

    INGREDIENTS 1 tablespoon unsalted butter 2 teaspoons minced garlic 2 cups cooked chicken shredded 1/2 cup Frank's Original Red Hot Sauce 8 oz (250g) g block cream cheese, softened 1/2 cup sour cream 1/2 cup white Cheddar cheese freshly shredded 1/4 cup American cheddar freshly shredded 1/4 cup crumbled blue cheese (optional to serve) 2 teaspoons green onions, sliced ( or chives) Celery sticks carrot sticks, tortilla chips, crusty bread pieces, potato chips, for serving INSTRUCTIONS Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange oven rack to the middle of your oven. In an 8-inch cast-iron skillet (or an ovenproof pan), melt the butter over medium-high heat. Sauté garlic until fragrant (30 seconds). Add the chicken and hot sauce and simmer until sauce has thickened and reduced by half (about 2 minutes). Reduce heat to low and stir in cream cheese; mix until combined. Take off heat, stir through sour cream and top with both cheddar cheese(s) over the top. Bake until bubbling around the edges and the cheese has melted (about 10 minutes). Broil (or grill) for a further minute to brown on top. Immediately garnish with blue cheese and green onions. Serve with vegetable sticks, chips, crusty bread pieces for dipping. NOTES If you don't have a cast-iron skillet or oven-proof pan: prepare all ingredients as per recipe instructions above in a regular pan on the stove. Then transfer buffalo dip to a 1-quart (1-litre) baking dish. You can use rotisserie chicken. Don't like blue cheese? Feel free to omit it. Halve the hot sauce amount for a milder dip.     Saturday 2/1/20 It was a hungry day for me. I actually ate breakfast before 12 which is something I almost never do. I ended up over my 30g net carb goal, but I have been under it all week so it is what it is. I couldn't resist the slice of toast with dinner. 6:30 am- coffee/ half-half 9 am- 1 cup unsweetned vanilla almond milk, Power crunch protein bar 10 am- coffee/half-half 1 pm- 1/2 chic-fila Spicey Southwest Salad with avocado lime ranch 7 pm- 2 scrambled eggs, onions, tomatoes, 2 slices turkey bacon, 1 slice Sara Lee Delightful Multigrain bread toasted with a pat of butter. 9 pm- coffee/ half-half Calories- 1243 Net Carbs- 36.9 Fiber 10.3g Protein- 58.9g Fat- 81.7g Glycemic Load-3.3

    Gastric band repair advice

    You can get a band replaced or repaired but most people that have this done do not find it as effective as when they were banded initially. It is now believed that the safe useful lifespan of a band is between 10 -15 years. They are not the damage free option that they were once thought to be and have fallen massively out of favour. Some exbandsters get revised to a sleeve but this has its own set of issues that can be exacerbated by having had a band previously. The revision of choice is generally to a Roux en Y gastric bypass. That sounds horribly scary until you do more research . I had my revision in Jan 2018 and couldn’t be happier. To me the rny does what the band was marketed as being able to do but never really did. I eat small portions of healthy food and am satisfied. No more being stuck, no more nights out wasted in the bathroom because my first bite of food got stuck. No more horrible feeling of pressure in the chest, when I’m full I feel it like a “normal” person would

    Molina Healthcare/ Washington Apple Health

    The schedule is controlled by the insurance company. I live in a rural area and my doctor/hospital is 2 hours away in another state. They allowed me to attend support groups that were local and scheduled all my medical appointments on the same days (pulmonologist, Endocrinologist, surgeon, dieticians etc. the time frame for mine was 1 year...they were not flexible about that at all. I had my Bypass on 12/11/19 and finally feeling normal. I have not had insulin since the day of surgery.

    Looking for help...

    This is excellent, especially the second link you referenced. I’ve been struggling, but I think I’m just over anxious to start long distance running again (I used to before surgery). However, I just don’t have the calories to support it right now, so I keep crashing. I have 10 pounds left, then I’ll start focusing on fitness goals more, because I can up my calories. I think I have also been too all or nothing about this - a 30 minute run a day is just fine right now, until I can build it up. Anyway, thanks for the helpful links, I’ve been getting frustrated.

    December Surgery dates???

    I had my sleeve on Dec 18th,2019. I have lost 27 pounds and over a month out. I’m still adjusting to the whole new mindset and eating ways. I’m excited about this journey. I still have two shakes a day and now that I’m to soft foods I’ve been sticking primarily to protein. I have even got meat sticks and cheese I eat on. That’s pretty much all I do for now and try to get my water in as much as possible.

    My weight is back to bouncing around. I think I am just going to weigh once per week on Monday mornings because it is so frustrating to me when I am 161 and then the next day I am 164. I know this is just how my body is. I can lose 4 pounds but sometimes it takes 7-10 days for it to hold there and stop going back up and then rinse and repeat for every loss I have. Yesterday 1/31/20 7:30 Am- Coffee/ half-half 12 pm- Italian Sausage with onions, green pepper/ spaghetti with cabbage for noodles 1 pm- coffee/ half-half 4 pm- 2 cheese sticks 7 pm- 1/2 Chic-Fil-A spicy southwest salad with avocado ranch dressing 8 pm- Coffee/ half-half Calories- 1112 Net Carbs- 21.5 Protein- 55g Fat- 76.5g Fiber-8.4g Glycemic Load- 2.8

    Pre op weight loss confusion

    Mine went by my surgery weight so definitely call your insurance company and don’t solely base it on what people say on here so you are safe! I was right on the cusp and could not lose more than like 10-15lbs for 6 months. I would gain then lose then lose and gain. I just made sure by my surgery date I was the weight they wanted.

    January 2020 Surgery Date

    Hello all. Had my Sleeve on 01/15 or 15.01 if in the uk! Followed my pre-op diet and op went well. One night in ICU then one night in my private room, then home with a carrier bag of drugs, injections and bits. Loss went really well in the first 2 weeks, then I have stalled a little this week, but put that down to the 3 week curse, however I have been told to introduce scrambled egg, baked beans, slightly chunkier soup as i suffered from diarrhea for the first week out of hospital. Wounds healing well and everything else seems ok. A few pains here and there but not had any pain killers since day 5. I am struggling to get 2 litres of water down me though, so need to work on that. Well done everyone, big steps towards a better life for all.

    Oh no, don't go.... please change your entire personality to please a bunch of cyber strangers!! Seriously, I wish you could stay for the journey, and for the laughs. Re blood sugar, I have a friend who swears by 10 minutes brisk walk after she eats anything. Best of luck!

    January 2020 Surgery Date

    When I started in July 2019 my BMI was 61. My surgeon wanted me to get down to a BMI of 50 to make surgery easier on me. On day of surgery my BMI was 48. Today it is 45. Here are my four phases Phase one - two weeks - full liquids 45 grams of protein. Phase two - two weeks - pureed foods 60 grams of protein. Phase three - two weeks soft foods 60 grams of protein. Phase four - advance to regular diet adding one new food at a time to see how it is tolerated goal of 80 grams of protein per day.     January 2020 Surgery Date

    Just did my weekly weigh in, down 19 lbs in two weeks since surgery. Eating lunch, 3 oz of refried beans which is taking me about 25 minutes to eat. Prior to surgery it would have been less than a minute to scarf them down along with a bunch of tortilla chips.

Followed by a date with the toilet. ...and I really need to start PVR-ing these tennis matches. I can't NOT sleep anymore!!! ---------------------------------------- 2:00pm - 1 black coffee w/ stevia + 1 scoop pistachio almond ice cream in a cup 5:30pm - salad w/ vinaigrette + carrots + 4 oz roasted chicken breast + 1 tsp horseradish mustard 7:00pm - 2.5 oz dried mango + 2.5 oz crispy orange beef 10:30pm - 1 Venti Starbucks Blonde Soy Americano Misto w/ a shot of sugar-free vanilla 1:30am - salad w/ vinaigrette + 3.5 oz roasted chicken breast +2 o crispy orange beef + 1 skinny tea latte ---------------------------------------- Totals: 1259 cals - 81g Protein - 87g NET carbs - 55g fat

    This thread is awesome. I am always amazed at the differences in number of calories and the types of foods that others eat and are able to maintain. I tried to introduce a higher carb level and eat mostly plant based about 7 months post op. After eating this way for about 3-4 months I felt my blood sugar levels were not as good so I decided to go back to what has always worked for me low carb, higher fat, and moderate protein levels. I stay away from processed foods and sugar as much as possible. I have learned that I need to track and weigh daily if I want to stay within my bounce range. I got down to 150 about 8-9 months post-op but I am currently at 161 working my way back down. My goal for this year is to hit 150 and maintain it with a 5 pound bounce. When you post your calories for the day do you subtract exercise? My tracker app links with my Apple watch and subtracts calories burned from my total. Yesterdays menu: 7 am- Coffee with half-half and splenda 10 am- Coffee with half-half and splenda 1 pm- Power Crunch protein bar 6 pm- Keto alfredo chicken bake, riced cauliflower 7 pm- Coffee with half-half and splenda Calories: 930 , Net Carbs: 17g, Protein: 42g, Fat: 58g I was low on protein but I wasn't hungry and couldn't get anything else in. I prefer to get at least 60g per day.
