Hallejillyah - My GENEPRO arrived yesterday but I haven't had the chance to try to yet. Is it legit tasteless and dissolves well? My pre-op diet was the same as yours! My surgery is at 1100(est) time today! I think I'm ready!
  2. Try using Genepro. It’s the unflavored protein powder and can be added to anything. I add it to my protein shake but don’t just add the powder. First dissolve the powder in a small amount of room temp water then add to your protein shake. 1 scoop is 30 grams. I’ve been using 2 scoops plus the protein from the shake helps get your protein intake up there. Im noticing many surgeons give different instructions for the post op diet. I did days 1-3 on clear liquids, now I’m on full liquids (pudding, drinkable yogurt, jello, water, sugar free ice pops, broth, etc) , however I snuck in some ricotta with some drained picante sauce on day 7 post op and I handled it pretty well. My tummy felt different but so far nothing has made me sick. I’m so ready for real food like egg salad and an English muffin and I haven’t even technically hit purée phase. My purée phase allows smashed up chicken but 7 days later (day 21) I can go to soft foods. The ricotta cheese w/picante helped me to feel satisfied, not just full, which was a treat.

August post op sleevers: Check in

Could I ask how much protein you get from the cereal and milk? I am trying to find some different things. I was sleeved the same day as you, I still drink the protein drinks to be sure I get enough protein because I cannot eat enough food to get all my protein in. I don't mind them too much. I mix Unjury vanilla, Genepro, fat free milk and sugar free banana cream pudding mix and ice and I get 59 grams of protein before 7 am makes the rest of my day less stressful worrying about getting in my protein.
  4. This company was in litigation for its Protein products not delivering protein promised. google them and search GENEPRO on here. I agree it tastes great, but when I read up and then looked at their website (which has portion that like their bodybuilding web forum comments) has broken English, strange claims, and things like "natural steroids" I decided my personal choice was to stick to Isopure or unjury. And, the 30 grams protein from 15 grams of product was another too good to be true.

Genepro - too good to be true?

I use Genepro and love it, no taste and it mixes really well in cold or hot water. Always feel full after. The best thing to do is try different ones and decide what works best for you..
  6. Hello everyone! Tomorrow marks my second week post op and all is well! I'm down 14 pounds and still on full liquids. Once I got a week post op in, drinking 64 oz of fluids has not been a problem. I am still struggling with Protein since all of it (except GENEPRO Protein, so glad I found that!) is so horribly sweet, but most days I do hit 60g. I want to be at 90g so that is my goal for today. All the swelling is gone and the gas was gone in about a week. My incisions are healing very well. I've had no problems so far and for that I am thankful! Not being hungry is an amazing and empowering feeling! I feel like I'm in control for the first time in my adult life when it comes to food. I've cooked most of my family's meals since surgery, and they've had take-out a couple of times and it made no difference to me at all. I was afraid I would feel a little resentful but I actually enjoy watching them eat. They were worried too so I had to convince them that it didn't bother me in the least. I go back to work next Monday so I plan to experiment with pureed foods this weekend so that I have a good plan on what to take with me to make sure I meet all my requirements. I'm open to questions about my experience so far. Here's wishing you all a great day and much success! Carol

    December Surgery dates???

Thanks everyone! The nausea has subsided, I really got nauseous when they had given me the dilaudid for pain. I’m home now, took an oral dilaudid and it didn’t do much for pain. Had picked up some liquid Tylenol and gas-x, trying to get the Tylenol down now but gosh is that stuff disgusting 🤮! Suture sites are very sore and have a bit of a headache. Very bloated, but not gassy. The largest incision site was bleeding a little bit so I put a large bandage over it. Still getting up to walk as much as possible. Had about 2.5 oz of broth w/ a small amount of genepro around 430. Going to try a SF ice pop before bed. hope everyone is doing well!
  8. So many Nov 3 dates. My Dr only does tuesday and Thursday surgeries so I was trying to allow for few days in hospital then weekend at home recovering before my son is around me. Don't want to scare him if I am in pain. Then he's in school for 6 hours a day the school days so I can rest and heal and walk around. I need to order a few more supplements then I'm doing my pantry shopping on the first of next month so everything's done. I'm ordering some GENEPRO flavorless Protein for Soups and applesauce for that first month or to mix with with crystal light. I'm not sure about Protein drinks right after that flavor is so sweet. I hear it dissolves in crystal light and I love the rasberry ice I could get in my protein that way as long as I can swallow okay

    My Hunger Has Returned!!

My doctor told me about a protein called GenePro yoh can get at GNC. Or had 30 grams of protein, is flavorless and you can put 1 tsp(?) Into any beverage and it will not change the taste. You could try that and get your protein in. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using BariatricPal mobile app

Any other gay sleevers out there?

Man thank you so much. I have been doing 2 premiere proteins a day, but they're wayyyyy to sweet. Chicken broth is wayyyy to salty. Lol. I am making do with water and jello sugar free pudding. Went to Starbucks and got a peach green tea lemonade unsweetened. Best thing ever. I'm doing good with getting at least 64 ounces of fluid, but the sweet protein - yuck. Have you tried unflavored protein? I use Genepro almost every day, it's 30 grams per tablespoon and has no flavor. I add a scoop in decaf coffee, I also use it in SF pudding..I purchase mine on Amazon. One way to cut the sweetness on the premiere is by adding it to cold decaf coffee, with a few pumps of SF torani syrup. With the chicken broth, are you getting low sodium? Our taste buds change so drastically after surgery but I promise it gets easier everyday I ordered and got the Genpro. Tried it today - glad you suggested it. I put it in my Crystal lite raspberry lemonade. It's the best. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App so glad that you got it and more than anything like it. That little container will become one of your best friends. One of my fave ways to use for sweet cravings is with sugar free banana cream pudding. I use the Genepro, pudding and fat free fair life milk (which has 13 g of protein per cup) and have a great protein filled snack or meal
  12. Thanks for that info! I've only tried isopure's zero carb clear drinks, I'll have to try the powders. I looked into genepro when I heard people talking about it but it's a blend of Proteins and I don't seem to handle blends very well. At least that's what I think it is that I'm not handling.
  13. Nice spam post and complete and utter garbage. This is why Genepro has been sued over this bogus claim. The only reason this was thrown out of court is the shady way this business is run and the wrong “owner” was named.
  14. So ive read over and over and over how Genepro protein powder is lieing about having 30 grams of protein per serving and how it cant have 30 grams of protein in it if it only has 58 calories in it cuz protein has 4 calories per gram and on and on and on and yadda yadda yadda! UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU READ!!!!!! They are saying that their serving size gives you THE EQUIVALENT AMOUNT OF PROTEIN THAT WILL BE ABSORBED BY YOUR BODY AS IN A 30 GRAM SCOOP OF WHEY PROTEIN!!!!!!!!!! 1 tblspn of Genepro 2 will give you the same protein blood level (actual absorbed protein into your body/blood) count as a 30 gram scoop of whey protein because whey protein has a very low rate of absorption by the human body!!!!!! I agree the label can be a bit tough to understand unless you read what it says EXACTLY! You will see the 30 gram statement followed by ** and when you go down to what ** means/relates too, its the clinical study that showed just what ive stated above...that 1 tablespoon of Genepro 2 will give your body the same amount of ABSORBED PROTEIN AS 30 GRAMS OF WHEY PROTEIN! Whey protein has a very low rate of absorption...approx 30-45% MAX absorption rate with most being around the 30-35% which means a scoop of whey protein that contains 30 grams of protein gives you about 10-12 grams of protein that is actually absorbed by the body. 1 tablespoon of GENEPRO 2 gives you approx 10-12 grams of protein absorbed by the body! Clinical study proved that 1 Tablespoon of GENEPRO 2 would give you the same amount of ABSORBED PROTEIN as a scoop of whey protein containing 30 grams of protein! GOT IT???? LOL! Thats laymens terms of course but i think thats what is need here and it needed to be repeated a few times for normal folks to grasp! LOL! AGAIN...BOTTOM LINE LAYMENS TERMS...1 TABLESPOON OF GENEPRO2 GIVES YOU THE SAME AMOUNT OF PROTEIN ABSORBED BY YOUR BODY AS A SCOOP OF WHEY PROTEIN CONTAINING 30 GRAMS OF PROTEIN. Genepro2 has a very high absorption rate...so consider a scoop of Genepro2 will get you approx 10-15 grams of protein absorbed by your body! ABSORBED BY YOUR BODY IS THE IMPORTANT FACT/NUMBER ETC AS WHATS NOT ABSORBED DOESNT DO YOU ANY GOOD! Some vitamins are the same way, examples being D, magnesium and others...to get 50 mgs ABSORBED BY YOUR BODY YOU HAVE TO TAKE 5 TIMES MORE/250 MGS SINCE ABSORPTION RATE IS SO POOR. I hope this helps and remember that 1 serving of the GENEPRO2 will get you about 10-15 grams of protein absorbed by the body. If you need to get an extra 75 grams of protein above what you will eat in your food then you will need to take 5-7 scoops/serving sizes. FOR BEST RESULTS AS FAR AS TASTE OR CHEMICAL SMELL GOES...DO NOT HEAT UP PROTEIN AT ALL! MIX IT COLD WITH SOMETHING AND POUND IT DOWN QUICKLY! I have always lifted weights and worked out seriously and have learned over the years how much my body can absorb of any given protein product. Your body will only absorb its max amount of protein and then it will come out your rear end! We have always tought other people that were lifting weights and taking supplements to gain lean muscle mass to find that max point with which ever protein product you are using and then back down from there. Work your way up to max rate when your body will get rid of excess and then slowly back down servings until you hit that happy point. GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL!
  15. Not a shill at all and thats a promise on all 5 of my grandchildren! I just got tired of hearing all the misinfo being spread around and look at what your respected member "TOMO" replied in this posting and TOMO has been around here and is in no way a "shill". TOMO said replied: "Genepro is endorsed and recommended by many medical facilities, including UCLA School of Medicine to all their bariatric patients. The science is sound but people believe whatever they want to believe. http://surgery.ucla.edu/workfiles/bariatrics/healthy-eating/UCLA-Post-Op-Diet-Updated-2021.pdf"

What Is Your Beverage of Choice?

@@PorkChopExpress I haven't used the GENEPRO in a cold liquid yet...there's no grittiness or chalkiness? I use it every single morning in my coffee and am a huge fan.

    Coffee after gastric sleeve

I am a coffee fiend!! I have always drank coffee since I was a young kid. I never gave up my coffee. Right after I was released from the hospital and I had to stay in a Motel until my 1 week check up I didn't want anything to do with coffee at all. I did get over that pretty quickly. I was never told to nor drink it. In fact at most of my follow ups I had a big cup og joe with me!! I know put GENEPRO in my Espresso everyday. It is a win win for me because I would drink the coffee anyway.
  20. Sassycat, I have not tried that but I always buy genepro (flavor and scentless) with 30g and add it to my fluids when needed. I've been having a hard time with protein and now my levels are low and required to get 105gm of protein daily. Adding this to my fluids really helps. I buy it on amazon and it can be added to anything! I also add it to my yogurt!

    March Bypass Buddies

GenePro powdered, unflavored protein is wonderful for anyone who struggles with getting their protein requirement. I put it in my morning coffee and that gives me 30 grams right off the bat. The 30 gram scoop is much smaller than other whey proteins that I've used and it is 100% undetectable! I've put it in soups, casseroles, sugar free pudding...you name it!

    80 grams of protein?

What absolutely saved me - genepro. I bought it at amazon. It is quite expensive but worth every penny. It is a powder that really is tasteless. You can add it to cold or warm things. Mixes extremely well with potato soup, sugar free hot chocolate. I would not be getting my protein in without it. Good luck!

Anyone get a March date yet?

Hi! I'm eating about 300 to 500 calories per day. My protein goal is a minimum of 65 grams. I'm on soft foods like cottage cheese, string cheese and yogurt. I use GenePro protein powder in my coffee in the AM OR I'll have a protein shake. No fruits or veggies until Wed. Starting week 4 I can have soft veggies and fruits. Doc wants me to drink 64 oz. Of water per day but I'm only able to get in the 40s most days. I have my one month follow up tomorrow. I'm anxious to hear what the doctor says about the stall. I need to break this thing...lol
  24. I agree w the Genepro suggestion. I have been putting it in tomato and broccoli cheese soup as well as pudding. Can’t taste it at all. When I put it in soup I put 1 scoop into a half cup of soup for 30 gm of protein. You can get it at GNC if you need it quicker than ordering online.

    Any March 2018 Sleevers?

WLS 3/30 post op day 6. Had trouble with my lithium meds when I introduced them day 2. Caused all day diarrhea for 2 days. My psychiatrist recommended reintroducing after a couple weeks. New stomach also can not tolerate the protein shake I had been using pre-op. Ugh. Switched to Genepro medical grade protein dded to chicken broth and doing fine. Watered down poweraid zero to make it less sweet and that is nice option to water. I tried 2oz of plain Greek yogurt on day 4&5 but the hives I have had since day of surgery have gotten progressively worse and I need to cut that out as well. 3 more days to purée! Never been so excited
