    Sleeved June 1st

nraeh So glad you are recovering nicely and had an easy surgery! I got sleeved on Wednesday, June 1st as well! Just got out of the hospital Saturday afternoon (TODAY) and I am feeling pretty good too. Haven't tried a shake yet. Still just doing Clear liquids -- I had two sugar free jell-os tonight along with chicken broth, Vitamin Water zero and an sugar free ice pop! But after only being out of the hospital for 10 hours -- I pooped (sorry for the TMI but I am so proud & excited!). So my digestive system is working a - okay. My surgery went fine but it was delayed getting into the operating room. There were several emergency surgeries that bumped my ELECTIVE procedure. So instead of starting at 11 am they didn't start until 3PM so I was dehydrated going into the surgery. Of course they wouldn't let me even have ice chips until after the esophogram (swallow test) and in a major NYC hospital between the time you take the test, your surgeon gets the results and then actually gives a written order to start the patient on liquids takes way more time than a dehydrated gal wants it to take!!! All that aside every day I feel better. My new tiny tummy is still a bit sensitive. When I ingest anything even water I feel lots of contractions that aren't terrible but I would like them to go away. I need to keep taking the anti-nausea drugs and the PPI. I may try diluting a shake with water tomorrow and see if I can get in some Protein. There is always Isopure -- I broke down and bought three bottles (GRAPE/APPLE-MELON/BLUE RASPBERRY). Like you nraeh -- I am glad to be sleeved and looking forward to starting my journey! EJ

    Watermelon

*Bursts In* Am I Late? No, cool 😂 I've noticed that whenever I ate a lot of watermelon, as opposed to other fruit, I lost more weight. Maybe its all the water and fiber for relatively low calories or that it also kept me very regular (also TMI) I didn't start eating it until maybe 6 months post op. Ask your Team about it.
  3. Thanks Dray1873! Not tmi, but good info! I was concerned how to know and wasnt sure if anything would go down around it or if it was all "stuck". I made the horrible mistake of a bite of a breadstick with my soup and dont think it'll ever appeal to me again. Ive been so bloated ever since...stupid I know but I guess Im hard headed. Wont cheat at all on the liquid, too much at stake.
  4. 1. I wont miss not being able to use a normal bathroom stall (always have to use the handicap stall cause I cant wipe in the normal stall. TMI? lol) 2.I wont miss not having anything to wear to weddings. 3. I wont miss every one telling me just go on a diet (like I havent tried every one in the book already) 4. I wont miss avoiding my friends because im ashamed of myself. 5. I wont skip out on theme parks because I can't fit on the rides. 6. I wont miss getting nasty looks in the super market. Just to name a few. LOL!
  5. Well, I'm all set for my surgery tomorrow at 1:00 PM, and lo and behold... Aunt Flow decides to visit me 3 days early!! So gross! Has anyone had any experience with this when they had their surgery? I just cannot imagine laying there without anything to... uh... "sop up the mess" so to speak. LOL! I don't know why I'm so mortified by this. I'm positive my doctor has seen anything and everything by now.
  6. Hi all, Sorry in advance for the TMI I am 10 days post op and I visited my dietician yesterday. She said since I was eating yogurt and pudding and keeping it down, I can slowly introduce purée into my diet. Yesterday ate puréed chicken and mashed potatoes (about 3 spoons of each). I seemed to be fine yesterday (I ate around 5 pm). However, I woke up at 4 in the morning and it felt as if my esophagus was burning and I had a weird taste in my mouth (close to vomit). I woke up in the morning and my stomach has been in knots and I feel cramps. Throughout the day it went away. I have been drinking a lot of water but I’m not 100%. I didn’t eat a thing except hot chicken broth and water. I’m not even hungry. Has anybody ever had this problem? I see the doc on Tuesday. How long did it take you (if any amount of days) to adjust to the purée diet? Pudding and yogurt I never had a problem with during the liquid stage.

    Stinky Poop?

Absolutely, obnoxiously stinky!!! And I have learned that since surgery I cannot gamble with a fart...., Today I sharted, now I know that is TMI but I just wanna let you know not to take that gamble ! ; )
  8. Good Morning! mimi- they don't carry DD's with no underwire :tongue2: I heard to try Walmart. Heading there today for a bit. Shalee- I hope they end up being the same lol. I am too pretty scared about the thigh lift but I can't imagine it being worse than what I just went through and believe me I will be buying the pain pump for that too. I hear ya about the money but the thigh lift is only 6 grand, what 6 grand more when I spent almost 19 lol. You only live once. Tlam- Congrats on your TT. I agree it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.. could have been the pain pump though lol. My doc says I need to wear the compression garment for three weeks post surgery. I am sure I will continue to wear it even after. It really makes me feel safer lol. When it is off I am afraid my guts will spill out. I can hardly wait to not wear it at night though. Mine goes from bottom of breast to knees. I don't think that is the normal compression garment but since I had lipo of the thighs I had to have the whole thing. there is a cut out for the crotch. Ok so my hubby and I have been experimenting since a couple of days ago. No "intercourse" but jeez ok how do I say this politely.. the "O" was gahhhh amazing! The only thing is my tummy muscles started spasming like crazy. Thank God I was still wearing my garment. He can't keep his hands off of me lol. Ok sorry if that was TMI.. I just know some were wondering when intimacy can begin.. you just have to be creative. I know I'm in trouble tomorrow though. All he keeps saying is THURSDAY your drains come out.. with wiggly eyebrows. lol.. I'm excited and nervous. We will be extremely careful but I can hardly wait hahahaha.

    Huge influx of random flirting

Possibly TMI-ing the hell out of the thread on this one, but I went to a national industry event recently and had an amazing hookup experience with a guy I met there. Body-positive feminist from the drop and just incredibly affirming the whole time (and also damn attractive and volunteered the term “enthusiastic consent” in conversation unprompted). I’ve been pretty conscious of my body for about a decade now, and the entire experience was fabulous. No shyness, no “demure” instinct to cover up when it’s actually just hiding. No trying for “flattering” positioning or lighting. No searching for the hotel robe and hoping it fits. I’ve lost around 90lbs so far, last time I was 20lbs above this weight I had the negative experience of guys suddenly catcalling me and just outing themselves as superficial assholes. It made me feel furious and cheap and like I wanted to live at the bottom of the sea. I don’t know if the way I carry myself has changed as well (or the five years makes a difference), but this time round I’m able to avoid most of the crappy experiences. And obviously hit the damn validation lottery with this last guy. (...also the nonstop shagging knocked off a few more pounds, bringing me within a whisper of onederland, so hooray for aerobics.)
  11. M almost 3 months post op and everything seems to be good but now I seem to be going the opposite direction! Lately have been having pain in my stomach,my right side, constipation, dizzy and lightheaded with black outs, an today I got diarrhea and vomited a little! I'm still dropping weight, and I went to the doctors and I do have a UTI and he put me on meds. He did other tests but I don't like this at all its scary and hurts bad! Tmi but it hurts when u go to the bathroom it's really bad stomach aches and I can tell there's a lot of acid! But I called the dr informed them of my new symptoms and waiting...work sent me home! But for now I'm gonna o lay down!
  12. I am sure that this is TMI but I just have to ask: While you guys were on your liquid diet, did you have the runs? The reason why I am asking is because every 2 hours I am heading to the bathroom with liquid results. I am just wondering if this is normal. Again I do apologize if this is gross, I just want to know, what are some things you did to relieve this issue without breaking your diet. Thanks,
  13. So I had my plastics consult.. My surgeon said that she's had really good luck with insurances paying for most of the plastics.. We are trying for a 360 lift, I have good reason, cause I get rashes in the back where I sweat a lot (TMI, but butt crack area ). She also believes I don't need much in way of a breast lift, just removal of some skin to tighten them up. She also thinks I don't need arms redone, but a little lipo she says will tighten my arm, and then I'm hoping for a little neck lift as well.. I'm so excited!

    Week 6: May 27-31st Sleevers

TMI vomit talk warning... @@Niquee, my husband is about to hit his surgiversary next week after having a sleeve. And he regurgitates several times a week. In fact, and this is kinda weird but true, he uses it as a tool when he's out to eat with coworkers or in social situations with food as a way to clear the stomach if he gets full too early. While he can do it voluntarily, there are sometimes he just has to. Foodmush is it, no bile or stomach acid. We've talked to our doc about it, and while he recommends all the usual, eating slower, chewing more thoroughly, no liquids half hour before or after.... he also said that because it's not wreching or clenching the stomach muscles, it's just basically food backing up and out. Didn't say it was "good" per se but he wasn't overly worried about the long term effects. I'm concerned for the effects on his esophagus, because he had acid reflux before surgery and his esophagus was a little beat up. But, so far, while inconvenient most cases, it hasn't caused any other problems to date. For me, I've only thrown up two or three times since surgery and it has been horrible, whole body wretching experiences. It makes my eyes and nose water and my whole body hurts. So thankfully it hasn't happened often. I hope the "traditional advice" works somehow for you or that you can pinpoint the "trick" to your own situation.
  15. I call my fiance's penis MINE. lol. He calls it Time Warner. Because it is as big as a cable remote. LOL. TMI I know. lol
  16. Never had a problem with this in my life, now here I am 3 weeks post op and I havent gone in 6 days. HELP! :frown:

    Lets talk about sex...

Lmao!!! I kept reading "came into me" instead of "came onto me" I had to read it three times before I got it right! Damn dyslexia!! I was like wow yeah TMI!! Anyway I'm happy for your new found intimacy with the husband, it's one if those many perks!

    First Fill...

Constipation has been a problem for me also, I tired the fiber tablets and other stuff but it gives me so much gas that my family can't stand to be in the same room with me. Sorry TMI! Make sure you drink your water and exercise I have found this helps me some.

    Should I be concerned?

I was banded the same day as you and I am still experiencing many of the same symptoms...they do get better sometimes. I notice when I eat a little soup I get the pain in my left shoulder worse, but it eventually does go away. I cannot tolerate slimfast protein shakes anymore giving me water stools (sorry tmi) and gas so bad I can wake up the household...so my friend gave me Special K 02 water mix and that is working for now, at least I am getting some protein in. I am on a liquid diet till next Thursday then on to mushies, but I go for my post-op tomorrow to get staples removed and will ask if I can bump it up a few days, at least be able to eat some jello or applesauce/pudding, something!!! It's hard, but I'm sticking to it...I think the hardest is the gas and those pains, but this morning was a way better morning than the last so I'm thankful for that. I also had a hernia repair and was in surgery for three hours. Also, I started back to work Tuesday and it kicked my butt....I should have taken at LEAST a week off, silly, silly me..... hope you are feeling better soon, hang in there!
  20. Omg! Same here! Thank you for the heads up because I don’t stop bleeding! TMI, I’m sorry! And I am afraid to get on birth control because I’ve been on them for so long before! But I also don’t want to get pregnant until after like 3 years! So I don’t know what to do. Thank you for the support. This forum has blessed my life!!!!
  21. I know tmi but I'm on this vicious cycle that just won't go away my surgery is Saturday so wondering if I still have it what is the procedure do they let you wear your panties with a pad or what ? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using the BariatricPal App

    Tampons or Pads.

I have a tilted uterus and tampons hurt a lot when I wear them. Also, for some reason, my cramps become so much worse while I have one in. I'm pads all the way, but always the overnights. I have weird periods. They don't follow any schedule they want. I went through a time of none for years, then I would have a heavy one that would go on for 40 days. I ended up with a D&C 2 years ago (they found several small uterine polyps) and since then it's been like clockwork, up until about 6 months ago. They are gradually getting more and more time in between. Right now I'm experiencing spotting since New Year's Day (I remember because had sex on New Year's Night and I thought the bleeding was because things got a little...um...intense....TMI). I've been spotting every day since then. The last 2-3 days, its more than spotting, but barely enough to wear a pad. Of course, I'm due to be banded on Wednesday and I'm probably going to have to have surgery while on my period! That SUCKS!!!!
  23. 29th was my day....First few days I had really bad pain on the left side (main incision) and gas. Feeling alot better today with gas strips and especially after passing gas yesterday (tmi)...pain is manageable I take the pain meds once a day. I'm having a hard time getting my Protein and liquids in. I only did 30 grams of protein and about 20oz of Water yesterday. Just doing laps around the house for exercise but I'm going to the mall today to do some walking. Good luck everyone! Sent from my SM-G920P using the BariatricPal App
  24. Hi everyone! I survived! the first night was pretty horrible. in my drugged stupor, i confused the morphine pump with the nurse call button and kept pumping more drugs into my system which made me more nauseous. i threw up 3 times, but got it sorted out finally. i passed my leak test the next morning and they brought what seemed like a feast on that lunch tray. although, i did not want a bite of anything to eat. had a rough day yesterday (day 3) but made it through and today, day 4, already seems like a better day. am enjoying some decaf coffee because its the only thing that doesnt taste sweet beyond measure. am getting some sugar free gatoraid today-plan to drink it to excess to make up for slacking on the water (due to the sweet/soapy taste everything has-even plain water). am looking forward to moving to full liquids tomorrow. already planning my pudding fest! oh--if you have never heard this line before--BELIEVE IT---"never trust a fart". sorry if TMI but seriously, half of my walking is from running back and forth to the bathroom not knowing if I just have gas or you know what!!!!! I wish all of you the best in your journeys!! Let's keep up and keep each other informed and supported. going to go get a hot shower now! have a wonderful Sunday-attend church if you are able. May God's glory be found in all of our stories.
  25. Ok, I'm sorry if anyone gets grossed out by this, but I need to know if anyone else has gone thru this. This morning after getting up for work, I went in the bathroom and was having a BM that turned into diarrhea, that then turned into sweating, shaking and feeling really sick to my stomach. I then began to vomit, but it was just dry heaves and spit coming out it was about 10mins of this. It had been at least 12 hours since I had eaten anything, and what I had for dinner was the same thing I had the night before with no problems. Just wondering if any one else experienced this, I was really upset and scared that something was wrong.
