Ok maybe it's not a stall but given that I was losing a point or so a day the first to weeks, to not have the scale move for 6 days is unsettling. Surgery 5/2. Lost 21lbs in the preop diet and 16lbs post op so far. I'm eating between 600-800cals per day. On on purees. My meals are like this: Breakfast: premier protein shake Snack: Greek yogurt Lunch: soup- like a chicken broth with veg Dinner: 1/3 cup puréed meat, 1/4 cup each of puréed veg and potatoes I'm getting about 80 oz of water. Protein is about 60g so yesterday I also added another shake to get to 90. I'm nervous to go on regular foods soon and gain if I'm not losing now. Any other suggestions? Or just calm the F down[emoji52]

Thank you all for the advice. I love Greek yogurt but the doc has said specifically to stay away from it while on all liquid the first couple of weeks.

High Protein Drinkable Yogurt
PAstudent replied to bjjpapi's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just bought some today for the first time! I'm enjoying the Oikos yogurt drink. It has 10 grams of protein and is 7 ounces. It does have quite a bit of sugar though (11 grams) and is 110 calories. I don't think I'd make this particular yogurt drink a regular part of my diet, but it's a nice break from the protein drinks, waters, and soups that I've been having lately. -
I'm 3 days out of surgery and have drinkable yogurt on the list after day 4. Can anyone recommend a good brand that offers high protein in small quantities?

What does your daily food intake look like?
Dashofpixiedust8 replied to scochrane86's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am almost a year out and I don't watch carbs but I focus mostly on protein. I say my doctor for my one year appointment yesterday and the nutritionist said I needed to add more fruits and veggies and I can back up on the protein. So here is a sample of what I eat: Breakfast: 1 egg scrambled with 1/2 ounce white american cheese. 1 oz turkey Canadian bacon. 1 cup cold brew coffee with 2 teaspoons creamer. Snack: Greek yogurt or fruit Lunch: Usually left overs from dinner (so chicken, steak, pork, burger) or 2 ounces of turkey lunch meat and 1/2 ounce white american cheese Snack: popcorn, pringles bakes sticks, or Muuna cottage cheese. Dinner: I mostly make weight watcher recipes. So I have 3-5 ounces of protein with 1-2 ounces of veggies. Snack: small square of dark chocolate, popsicle, fruit -
I have been using the car master brand at my local store Krogers I get the car master protein milk for my protein shakes and then I get the carbmaster key lime pie and cinnamon roll flavor yogurts. Yogurts are 9g protein in a 1/2 cup portion.

I'm five and a half months out and still drink one Premier Protein shake a day. I also start my day with Oikos Drinkable Yogurt. Both work for my lifestyle and my nutritionist has no problem with it. Drinking a shake probably has nothing to do with you're being hungry. It's probably the Prilosec. I take one 40 mg Prilosec (pantoprazole) a day. Although I still don't get hungry, I know if I have gone too long between eating. If drinking a protein shake works for you, you should continue drinking it. I bet the Prilosec will help.

I don't eat artificial sweeteners as my research shows they don't help with weight loss, in fact the opposite occurs. Therefore, I stay away from sugar-free yogurt. Instead, I eat FAGE plain Greek yogurt, which has 20g of protein in it. I sometimes add fresh puréed fruit or strawberry or chocolate Unjury protein powder if I want to flavor it up a little.

I was in surgery for about an hour and a half. I also had a hernia that the doctor repaired. My surgery started at 4:00 and I was out of recovery and in my room at 8:45. I've only taken pain medicine once today, and I didn't take the full dose. I just ate some cottage cheese and before that I had some banana yogurt. I've also been sipping on some yummy light lemonade that the hospital gave me. -
Yogurts?
Navigating the Wilderness replied to Margater's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I highly recommend Yoplait Greek 100 protein vanilla yogurt. Its a winner for me. If you can stomach plain yogurt, go for the FAGE plain it has like 20g of protein. -
Weight loss 6 weeks post vsg
Syaniya replied to Ren33vsg's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Breakfast an oikos yogurt, snack a slice of cheese or cheese stick, lunch cottage cheese or tuna package, afternoon snack more cheese. dinner normally whatever meat I cook for the family for dinner, plus the veggies or just cottage cheese again. For instance if I make them burgers, I'll just have mine in a bowl with tomatoes, pickles, and ketchup, no roll. Protein shakes to supplement if I'm short on protein for the day. Actually she told me to stop taking my calcium pills today as I was getting too much calcium. I have to keep track and not get too much calcium in or I'll get I think she said calcium deposits or something like that. One less pill I have to take work's for me [emoji4] Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app -
I am 4 days out of operation.. in the clear liquids phase of the diet... struggling to get anything down. On the list of food from my doctor, it says yogurts. I believe they need to be sugar free and pretty much "chunk" free. Can anyone recommend a kind/brand for this? Hoping yogurt might get the nasty protein taste out of my mouth.

How soon after surgery did you start Prilosec
Joann454 replied to Joann454's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Idk if this is normal but my surgeon is ok with me taking pills. It seems odd since my popsicles and yogurt can't have lumps. I have so many pills to take. This outta be fun! -
I'm on day 6 of 14. It is still tough but getting through it. Water...drink water when you find yourself having a headache. Warm items help me feel more satisfied. Soups and high protein hot chocolate are my favorites. Add ice in a blender with your shakes...it gives them a little bulk and there are small bits of ice you can chew! I add benefiber to one or two of my shakes each day to help keep things moving. I get up every 2 hours (sometimes less) to use the bathroom. I've lost about 7lbs since I started and I'm sure a lot of that is water! I'm trying a new recipe every day for shakes and soups. So while I'm having 2 chocolate premier protein shakes a day, the third one is usually something different. (My plan is 3 shakes and 3 protein liquid foods per day). I keep trying different yogurts but so far haven't found one I like. I keep telling myself better liver better surgery. I repeat that every time I see a food commercial or someone offers me something and I have to resist. Sent from my SM-G920V using BariatricPal mobile app

Way to go! I'm sure you are working hard! Hope you are proud of yourself! Weight loss can slow down but it is different for everyone. There can be a lot of reasons for this but don't let it mess with you. Focus on keeping up the good habits - whatever exercise you like, lean protein first and hydration. One reason that weight loss can slow down is that we weigh less and it takes less energy to do the same activities. As my surgeon put it - It is like driving a car to Florida and hauling something. If you are hauling 3000 pounds you are going to use more gas than if you are hauling 1000 pounds. Cravings and head hunger started to get really intense around the 8 to 9 month mark for me. It doesn't happen for everyone, some people don't even get cravings back. My best advice is read about mindful eating or books by Geneen Roth maybe get some counseling (helpful for me cause I'm a stress eater) and if possible avoid keeping around sweets if they trigger you to eat. I keep around sugar free popsicles and yogurt for when I really want something sweet. All the best to you!! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using BariatricPal mobile app

April sleevers!?
Finding_Stacy replied to Simplyrosie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congratulations and welcome! I'm curious. What brand of shakes are you using? For instance, the Premier Protein shakes have 30 grams of protein per shake. Are you not finishing even one shake a day? Have you tried eggs or chicken yet? Does that hurt your stomach too? I'm just trying to figure out how you can get more protein in, because your body and skin needs that, and water, for proper healing and shrinking. You can always get the unflavored protein powder to add to your yogurts. I feel like anymore I survive on chicken breasts. I sometimes eat my oikos triple zero vanilla yogurt, but really do eat my protein first, then that other stuff. Either way, it's hard meeting these protein goals some days. For me, I got my period the night I came home from the hospital, so I was bloated and gassy anyway. -
Hello Everyone ! I was sleeved on April 20, man I was so scared that day ! I have been doing well.. going through some sort of a stall, the weight lose didn't stop but it is going soooo slow that I decided to forget about the whole weighting thing .. but now I have 2 main problems ! first: I don't feel like eating anything ! I force my self to have some yogurt and cheese or hummus, and today, my stomach doesn't like anything it just hurts and gets filled with gas .. I don't know if this might be related to the fact that I had my first period today ? did any of you had this with their periods ? the second thing, since I don't even want to eat, I can barely have 24g of protein in shakes .. any suggestions on how to make my self able to get more ? you are all great ! this is like my safe house now ,, always comes here for comfort !

I can't believe it's almost here. Liquid diet isn't bad because you're constantly drinking shakes, yogurt, pudding, broth and water throughout day. Not to mention, shrinking our liver is for our benefit so best to go hardcore and stick to plan. Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal mobile app

Try Unjury Unflavored protein powder. You have to order it online. 20 grams in each scoop and it truly tastes like nothing. I put it on everything. I found a chicken and beef broth with 5 grams per half cup, I add the powder. I also drink it with apple juice and all I taste is the apple juice. Try Oikos triple zero yogurt, vanilla flavored. It has 15 grams of protein per serving. Not sweet and pretty tasty. I also order a chewable multi-vitamin from Unjury.com called Opurity and that is helpful. I get my 60 grams of protein relatively easy, with the help of this powder. I wish you all the best.

I have been having a lot of difficulty getting in my protien anyone else experiencing this? If I do yogurt I get sick and everything seems to be too sweet (even sugar free). I'm worried about healing without the necessary nutrients. Any suggestions? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using BariatricPal mobile app
