Working out
LittleLizzieLilliput replied to QueenTiff's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've lost almost 100 lbs in 10 months, I PROMISE you it did not fall off magically. I was not allowed any exercise AT ALL for 16 WEEKS. lol! I promise promise promise you that waiting 2 weeks, or whatever your doctor recommends, for doing exercises that could tear your incisions will NOT derail you, especially when you are committed like this. It's just not worth it, you could end up in the hospital. For even some TMI, I was constipated in my 6th week. I took a laxative. Just the muscle spasms alone caused me to reinjure myself. I couldn't walk standing straight for almost a week and it pushed back my recovery by at least two weeks. So I do speak from experience. I don't want you to feel discouraged. I'm 10 months out, I do yoga every day, I run/walk 5-7 miles a day and I run 50 flights of stairs a day. You will be able to do all you want to do soon and that fat WILL start dropping off, I promise!!! -

Howdy to all. I'm on day 9 post op sleeve and partial Nissen fundoplacation and hiatal hernia repair. Did for major gerd for so many years and to help lose weight to get pressure off ingujnal hernia repairs. Today as has been all week shakes are getting to be hard to intake no taste or almost a gagging taste tried premier and mt rx rtd 51. Can't stomach either in low carb low sugar slim fast and they are starting to not settle easy. Today broths were not even decent. Is this normal? I believe I got my fluid intake but have been progressively Weaker each day and shaking at times. I did walk a quarter mile today so I'm not laying around etc. even Tmi urine output is a lot less today. Makes me worried I've emailed the dr to see if I could add low fat sugar free yougurt to help get some more protein in but no luck yet. Any ideas. I'm motivated. 257 preop 240 surgery day and 227 ninth day post op losing about 2 pounds a day Attached pic at 257 and then yesterday pic.

Do I have to say TMI in a ladies forum? If so...TMI! Just a little venting. I've lost 95 pounds so far which is 51% toward my goal so I still have a ways to go before plastics would be recommended/wanted. I was expecting saggy skin and wasnt too concerned about it right away because I knew it was just part of this life. What I wasn't expecting was having SO much extra skin on and around my genitals! Theres at least 3 inches of excess skin on EACH side of EACH interior and exterior folds. That's 12 inches of extra skin around my vagina! Then there is literally a full hand-full of extra skin in the front pubic region. My bum around this area is saggy as well which is creating so much more of a droopy look/feel. Ive already experience a UTI, which I feel is from all of this extra skin and folds. I shower daily, drink at least 72oz of water, and wear airy dresses just because thats my style, but it also keep things from getting too warm/moist so getting a UTI should be rare. I almost feel like there should be some sort of underwear created to keep this region pulled in yet allow a natural amount of air flow. "V-Spanx"!!! What in the world can I do for the next 95 pounds until I feel surgery is warranted? Anyone else have ideas that might work??

Hello Nursesmiley, I waited 6 weeks because I was kind of nervous and wanted to heal first. Idk if they is a time period to wait but I took a little longer to have energy and strength. This may be TMI but I will be honest to you, the sex is so much different. When I was heavier I didn't feel as much pleasure as I do now!!! It's amazing when you lose weight how your body changes. My husband states that I got tighter then before which makes it more pleasurable for both. Sorry for TMI but before I had problems reaching a orgasm and now it's so much easier and the feeling I feel is so strong. Again sorry for TMI but I am being honest. I feel that a women body changes. I have more desire now to have sex than before. It's kind of hard to put into words but it sure feels different. I didn't have any incision pain at all. I did feel a little uncomfortable at first with certain positions but as time goes by, you feel better. Also my self confidence is much better than before. The Surgury I had was gastric bypass. Sorry for expressing myself but I think it's important that we support one another. Best of luck 😀.

Never TMI for me. I appreciate the honesty.

Cramping after eating?
sleevedshereen replied to sleevedshereen's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@kajameetsworld22 My belly was swollen for a good 2.5 weeks...you're actually lucky that it is a diuretic... May be tmi but I struggle in that department...if my life depended on it i'd probably die lol. I need to buy some benefiber or something, -
This may be TMI and I can't even believe i'm going to open up about this but here it goes...I had gastric sleeve...I waited about 2 weeks. I put a pillow and was on my tummy...lol it was ok. The pain was not bad, but sex itself was actually painful...I was reading a lot of articles on why this could happen (regarding dryness)...our estrogen levels are out of whack, our hormones are out of whack so for me...I just felt like I was losing my virginity all over again (not to mention it had been like 3 weeks since I had sex with my boyfriend) lol. That might be TMI but I just thought as a woman you might want to know that I wasn't affected by the pain of surgery, I was affected by pain of not being able to lubricate. Last week at 3 weeks post op I tried again....it was great. lol *dying of embarrassment now*

Hi, it's nice to meet you. I feel like I need a cleanse, TMI but I've become so constipated that I'm taking stool softer once a week. Did you experience any thing like this?

THREE WEEKS POST-OP TODAY- FIRST STALL
mama3beartn posted a blog entry in MAMA3BEARTN ---,---'@ WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY
YEP only three weeks post - op and I had my first stall. I lost . pounds instead of pounds. With one day of gain. Not much but a little. I started last Monday at 271.8 and today I'm at 271.0. Now I've read enough on here that this is very common. I changed stages this week from clear liquids to full liquids. And that stalls are common with Stage Changes. I'm not freighting. I'm getting my two premier shakes in a day and plenty of water. I did - bad me - have a bite of scrambled eggs a couple times this last weekend. I have 13 Hens and well the eggs are really building up. I made the Family eggs both Morning this last weekend and just took a bite each day. It didn't hurt my tummy or anything. But was very nice. I've heard some people are on food food by the third week, so I feel I'm doing very well for three weeks out and still on liquid. Any hoo just wanted to say if you go through a stall, don't freak. It's common and will pass. I'll let you know how this next week goes. OH! And I had another issue with the stage change. I totally had a brain fart about the constipation. OMG - I started the first Protein shakes on Saturday 28th and forgot to start the fiber and stool softener with them. I did't go till Tuesday and it was HELL. I suffer from Anal Fissures. They seems so much better. No pain with the current bowel movements (since they were mostly water due to the clear diet) But that was NOT cool. I don't try to give TMI but we are all in this together and I wanted you to understand it happens. And Bad. After two enemas and very painful - not pushing but pushing... I cleared it some. It took another bout of issues the next day. Of course the fissure is PISSED and back to feeling like passing glass, but the fiber and stool softener is finally all kicking in and hoping I can get all back to control. Please please don't forget to start at least a stool softener when you change to denser liquids and foods. I do both fiber I put in my water and two stool softener at bed time (without stimulant). BUT DO SPEAK TO YOUR OWN DOCTOR.. THEY MAY HAVE SOMETHING OR NOT WANT YOU ON A CERTAIN THING. ****I must share this recipe - I made it as a trial for my future Bariatric Recipes and my family was the guinea pigs. They are used it. LOL PIZZA FOR SLEEVIES I used two cans chicken breast- drain REALLY well - (keystone all natural is best) - you can even put in oven and dry out a bit before mixing the rest. I didn't but it suggest this if you want. 3 eggs 2 oz Parmesan cheese - REAL STUFF - NOT POWDERY STUFF Mix all this and press into desired shape on parchment paper placed on baking sheet. I shaped into a square since I had it on a square cookie sheet. Bake at 500 for 10 minutes. Remove and add Toppings. I added just a little spaghetti sauce, turkey pepperoni and shredded cheese since this is what my kids like. Return to oven for 10 more minutes. Remove and let cool a little. Cut and enjoy. Everyone said it was great. Of course I could try since on Full liquids still, but will definitely give it a go in a few weeks. LATER GATERS -
July sleever August out

My goal 6week goal is to hit the gym. My biggest TMI issue is #2 no desire to go but I know I need to. I am At 7 days post op. I gotta relax I went out 3 days in a row and I feel some pain on my side so I am gonna take a day to just relax. -
First foray into unplanned eating since my surgery in February 2017. Took a last minute trip, 150 miles, to a funeral for a friend. Did not plan any meals or snacks. After the funeral we gathered at my friend's house for dinner. It was Popeye's Chicken with all the sides and some homemade red beans and rice. I had some red beans and one chicken wing. This is also my first time eating something fried. Within about 20 minutes I felt sick to my stomach and the nausea was overwhelming. I went to throw up in the bathroom but just had a watery mouth and spit a lot. I got a horrible headache and felt like I needed to lie down and sleep. I excused myself by saying I needed to start my long drive home and stopped in the Costco parking lot, took a tylenol, and took a 45 minute nap. When I woke up I felt fine, shopped and drove home. What the heck was that? Does anyone else feel that sucky when they eat fried food? Never again!!!!! This has happened once before when I had a yellow chicken curry dish. I know it's not "chicken" because I eat it all the time.

Ok guys- this maybe TMI. [emoji90] I have surgery (RNY) on 7/31 and haven't been able to have a BM since the Saturday before. I'm on colace 2x daily, miralax 1x daily and had baby food prunes last night. I was on a liquid diet 1 week prior to surgery, so I know that messed with my GI tract. And obviously now I'm mostly on liquids- 1 tablespoon of purée food the past 2 days. Should I contact my doctor? I don't want to bug them for something that is normal. Do you have any advice? Besides this, I feel great. Been off all Tylenol and gabapentin since last night too! Woohoo!!!

Has anyone had stomach issues from chewing gum? Sugar free gum of coarse. I will admit I have been chewing quite a bit of gum for the past month or so (Probable a Pack + a day). I have been experiencing extreme bloating/gas & loose stool for about a month. I originally thought maybe it was my vitamins/calcium or food but eliminating things from my diet & putting vitamins on hold for a week with no improvement in my stomach has helped me come to the realization that it may be the gum. Duh! Just wondering if any fellow sleevers have experienced this problem. (My stomach rumbles & gurgles all day long with unbelievable bloat & gas) tmi.. I'm sure [emoji12]

What was the biggest surprise for you at or after surgery? What do you wish you had known?
Morgan Sorto replied to sunmeadow's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The leak test was the WORST/most embarrassing experience of my entire life. My body did not like the liquid and this is TMI but I cried, puked, collapsed and other embarrassing stuff that I try to tune out. I will probably never forget that experience and I feel really bad for the x-ray techs. I went back to my room and cried and tried to forget that it had happened. I was still completely drugged by the anesthesia at this time as well but I distinctly remember this. -

i think the hardest part and most unexpected part was the constipation! sorry if tmi lol!! i became really irregular after about 2 months and struggled with this for about 3 months, glad to say i am better now but you would think less food less problems in that area. i am now 6 months out and have lost 96 pounds so i would definitely do it again in a hearbeat!! Good luck on your journey!!! -
Thank you for your reply. After 7 days, I had diarrhea (sorry tmi). I was never so happy about something so gross! Now I have an incision infection. Go figure! Going to put neosporin on it.

Massive stomach ache. Warning TMI
TooneyNinosMom posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hate having to post this but I need some help. I am 4 weeks post op and having some issues. Since yesterday I have felt absolutely awful. I've had diarrhea, a massive stomach ache and everything I put in my stomach hurts. Even when I bend down it hurts. I have no fever, no chills and my heart rate is normal. Have any of you gone through this? -
Hey everyone! It's my first post, and it just had to be tmi. I haven't had a bowel movement since the morning of my surgery. I can pass some gas, and I took Miralax 2 days in a row with no result. The surgeon's office seemed more concerned that I was passing gas. Did this happen to any of you? How long did it take to resolve? I stopped my pain med yesterday, so that should help. Every time I drink liquids, my stomach hurts and I get a pain in my right side. Protein drinks are hard to get down. Maybe I should not refrigerate them? I tried sugar free chocolate pudding the other day. It gave me cramps like I'd have to go to the bathroom, but nothing happened. Now I'm afraid to eat any more of that. It's hard for me to walk because of spinal stenosis, so I am going to try moving through using my recumbent bike. I can sleep on my sides, bend pretty well, etc, so going gently with the bike should be okay. Generally, I just feel pretty blah. I guess I did just have major surgery, and I've been on this liquid diet for 3 weeks. Another week to go...

Anyone have gurgling left upper side noises and loose bowel motions post surgery ?
missnoregrets posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey everyone Sorry it's a tmi post but I'm 3 weeks post sleeve surgery and I've been having loud gurgling noises in my upper chest on the left side and loose bowel motions ? None can tell me what it is and I'm Worrying ! I thought it was lactose intolerance but I've been off dairy for a weeks now and I still have it ? Is this normal ? I'm taking a probiotic and some Reflux meds ? Just don't now what to do about it as it happens with a variety of food etc baked beans, ricotta bake, tuna, cordial ? I have no idea why and I am due to return to work in a week and don't want to have to run to the bathroom all the time ! Thanks -
One week post op, put potato chips in my mouth then spit out, same with peanuts, and some cheddar chip.

This is not a good thing to do. It's a sign of a deeper issue, so I've been told. Stick to the plan. Try something savory that's on your diet. Are you in clear liquids still or full liquids or even soft foods- by then my plan allowed for soft foods like scrambled eggs or cottage cheese. Maybe try some broth with spices. Find a good substitute for what you are craving. At this point it's probably head hunger. You are just missing food. I say this with a all of my 5 week experience (lol) but also with experience with my husband who had RNY 11 years ago. He struggled with his plan and went in to eat he wrong things and ended up having slot of throwing up spells. He lost the weight but it hasn't been a fun journey. If you are really struggling you should find a good counselor to help you figure out what your issues with food are. My dad would make dinner a nightmare I can still feel the lump in it throat - clear that plate. It was a long time before o could leave any food on my plate. I created kids who won't try anything new because I couldn't do that to them. They have awful eating habits because they hate vegetables and I couldn't make them try them more than once. Anyway... tmi- you gained the weight probably from an unhealthy relationship with food that was either physical or psychological or both and should figure out out why if you haven't already. I hope that helps.ill be praying! Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 198 GW 135 -

AHappierMe posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
::Deep breath:: Hello? ::tap tap:: Anyone here? How are you? I am fine-ish. I mean, I feel fine and I look fine but something is still holding my happiness back. Actually, if I am being honest, I am not fine. I am scared, anxious, worried, afraid, concerned, freaked out but dedicated to doing this surgery. I am scared because both of my parents have had gastric bypass surgery and have had life long effects that are most likely attributed to the surgery (vomiting, dehydration, shitting themselves to death, constipation, vitamin deficiency, neuropathy). I am anxious because I have Generalized Anxiety Disorder and, though treated and kept in check, my anxiety knob still gets turned to 11 when I am faced with a huge changes. I am afraid of permanently ruining my body and life through this surgery in an attempt to lose 60 pounds (the same 60 pounds I have lost and gained many, many times). I am concerned about not being able to live with the changes because I am "addicted" to fast food (not really, but I do enjoy eating all things fried and fatty, possibly more than the next person). I am freaked out because this will be the biggest change (besides having my amazingly perfect son) in my life. But, I am dedicated to this surgery because of so many reasons. Some of these reasons may seem petty and unimportant but - to me - they all encompass my WHY!! Oh, so cliche, but important to remember. Perhaps I should be playing some kind of slow, emotional music as I write this to make it even more dramatically sad and moving. Please think of your favorite emotion driven sound track during the below paragraph. Ready? Ok...I can wait while you think of one... Ok, here goes my WHY list: live for as long as I can with my son and husband, get fully healthy, look fantastic in photos from nearly every angle, stop back/side cramps whenever I stretch, remove bra extender for good, wear my wedding ring again, wear my wedding dress (size 4), wipe my butt without straining, wear high heels again, no more double chin, look sexy and beautiful, have sex again, stop taking pills (metformin, thyroid med), wear a bathing suit, look younger or at least my age (33), 'fit in' with the MILFs, wear yoga pants and not feel stupid, wear clothes that are stylish, have my outside match my inside. <end emotional music here> But who am I? Who is AHappierMe - that is the burning question, right? (ok, just pretend it is a burning question and not a UTI): Real Name: Amber Sex: Female Age: 33 Turn Ons: extra money, exotic vacations, Italian accents <--Ooops, sorry, that went to an awkward place. Medical Issues: Reoccurring Pregnancy Loss (6 miscarriages), PCOS, Hypothyroidism, Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, Generalized Anxiety Disorder (most likely caused or influenced by the repeated pregnancy losses). Weight Loss Attempts: Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, Low Carb / No Cab, South Beach Diet, Cabbage Diet, Fasting, Low/No/Negative Calorie, juice fast, Slim Quick, Sim Fast, Protein Shakes, measuring food constantly, trying to trick myself into think I could be anorexic (no kidding - it worked for about 4 days then I realized that I couldn't give myself an eating disorder and binged like there was no tomorrow), intermittent fasting, fad diets and diet pills. Highest Weight: 200 (after having son) Lowest Adult Weight: 122 (aged 22, when I got married) Current Weight: 180 Goal Weight: 120 Height: Too Damn short for my weight! ::Audience goes WILD:: Ok, it is 4'll. Lastly, my husband is currently in the process of getting the bypass done too and should have surgery in late August. I am INSANELY excited for him. He is 6'0, 350 pounds and is very much ready for this change. My consultation appointment is August 18 but I have already passed the requirement of getting the surgery. I wish time would move faster but I must wait 3 months after my husband's surgery to have mine. In the meantime, I will be updating at least daily on this same topic. I will be updating about my husband's progress and my progress through this journey. Here is a quote to wrap up this post: "Change is hard at first, messy in the middle and gorgeous at the end" - Robin Sharma (don't worry, I didn't know him either. Apparently he is a Canadian motivational speaker) Toodles!! -
I had no pain except gas. Lots of gas. Took a couple days to rid myself of it. Feels like something's pulling from my belly button once in awhile when I get up out of bed but other than that I'm doing great. Now I'm 9 days out and still don't trust a fart. Sorry for the TMI. I'm in the same boat, I had my surgery around the same time as you, though I only got down to 196 from 398, none of my stuff fit & I had to buy new clothes for the summer. I have so much loose skin on my belly, upper thighs, skin hanging off the sides if my knees & my arms, also turkey neck. A year n a half ago I started a new relationship, I'm embarrassed to get naked in front of him ( sorry if it's TMI) & since I moved I. with him I've gained 46lbs, & our sex life has come to a stand still. I've talked to him about it & he says it's not me he has a health issue that makes it uncomfortable, no to mention we both suffer from chronic pain, I want to believe him, but before I gained the extra weight it wasn't an issue, the more upset I get, the more I eat, just need some advice on jump starting my weight loss & need to know if anyone else has theses issues, we're not spring chickens, lol he's 60 & I just turned 55, any help would be appreciated Sent from my SM-G920P using BariatricPal mobile app
