    Pre-surgery NSV

LOL!! I am hoping later down the road to be able to see my collarbones... I swear I have never seen them, ever. That is going to be a huge NSV for me if it happens.
  2. Hi all, I just had to share a HUGE NSV (non-scale victory) with my friends here! It took me 8 hours (non-stop) to clean out my closet and get rid of clothes that no longer fit. I am happy to report that there is no articles of clothing in my closet that are 1,2 or 3X. I am also happy to report that there are no pants with a "W" on the end (18W, 20W, etc). The ONLY sizes I have in my closet are 14 & 16 pants, and L & XL shirts. I have previously cleared out sizes 20, & 18, but this one is the best so far (of course). I know there will be at least 3 more "closet cleanings" for me, but I feel so great right now, I just wanted to share. Thanks for listening!

Oh yeah, been there done that! LOL This is a great NSV!! Keep em comin''!!
  4. Today I rode on public transportation for the first time since surgery... I realized half way through that someone was sitting next to me , and I was relaxed and enjoying myself. Previously I would be tense the whole way trying to make myself as small as possible... Felt liberating.
  5. Great NSV! You go girl!

9 years since I last wore my suit

    Excellent NSV! Thanks! Dave
  8. My best friend Karen is someone I've always regarded as just one of the most amazing looking people that I know. She literally looks like Lucy Lawless (Xena) and is the same height as me, but is slim and healthy, and graceful, and a health nut. I've always admired her. We are in a pirate singing group together. This last weekend at a performance, I had noticed that my costumes were all huge big gigantic and looked SILLY. I had one that didn't look so bad, and I was wearing it, but I had to wear two belts to get it to stay on right. She said to me in regards to the costume she was wearing. "Well, I'm getting tired of this bodice, and I think it would fit you. Do you want it?" You cannot believe how thrilled I was that she said that. I never thought I would live to see the day. I can't wait to try it on!!

    NSV!

I had a similar NSV. I attended my 25 year reunion Thanksgiving weekend and I wore a size 18 jeans! I haven't worn jeans in about 10 years!! It felt great Today, I saw my Endocrinologist, I am no longer diabetic, my cholesterol has dropped 90 points and my thyroid medicine was decreased. The doctor was thrilled and so was I! I have had a great day today

    NSV for Rachel421

I love your new picture. You are one of my weight loss inspirations. Every time I look your ticker is down .5 pounds. It is so obvious how hard you have worked. Congratulations. Robbie Apparently you cannot edit subject line. Rachel412, I apologize for my dyslexic post and mangling your name. Sentiments still apply.

    Very first NSV :)

Yay! NSV's are the best! Seeing movement on the scale is great, but getting NSV's compliments are good for the spirit. Congrats, Karen
  14. A new year and a new body! My goal for 2013 is to drop 100lbs! But I'm also really looking forward to some of those non-scale victories, even if they take a little longer. Here's some items from my wishlist: - No more squeezing into tiny bathroom stalls! Though I swear some of them have the TP dispenser at the worst place possible to really CRAM your legs in there! - Going to a clothing store and not having to search for the "plus" side. - Not having my knees grinding under my weight when I go up and down stairs. - Wearing a swimsuit that doesn't have a freaking skirt attached - Wearing dresses and not having my thighs rub together til they're raw - Boots! I want a pair of freaking BOOTS! - I want guys to try and pick me up. Not that they'll get me (I'm married), but it'll make me feel sexy. What are some goals everyone else has -- crazy or non??

In my time since starting with the doctor, I've lost 24 lbs. I could tell in the mirror this morning. This is my first NSV and probably only the second time in my adult life losing weight that I could tell!!!!

    NSV

I don't have my 7 week weight until Tuesday, but I am definitely losing inches. Today I went to go babysit. All my yoga pants & sweat pants were dirty. I started out a size 32. My size 30 jeans were just too big. Then I remembered that I had bought 2 pairs of size 28's online accidentally (I meant to get 30's) quite awhile back. Pre-Surgery I couldn't even pull them all the way up. So, I crossed my fingers & not only could I pull them up but could zip them up without sucking anything in! I was so excited. I still am. This totally made my week & it's only Sunday.

    Major NSV for me!!

OK I am in Clarksville / Nashville area visiting friends, family and attending a conference in Atlanta this month. My best friend for about 12 years now lives in the area. I just got back from a kick ass night out on the town with my girlfriend and her sister and her boyfriend. We went to this bar that has two floors. The lower floor is redneck as can be. Complete with line dancing and cowboys and girlfriends all in boots and fringe shirts. We played several games of pool and drank several drinks there. Then we go upstairs where there is a Hip Hop club. Completely packed and have to wade through a sea of people to get to the bar. I flirted and danced with several guys. SIGH!! Had this one guy come up to me and whisper / shout in my ear "damn you are fine". SIGH!! I am loving it. WHOO HOO!! Had a blast. Now I am back tucked safely in my hotel room. I was a good bandster I only had a couple of drinks. I had a blast and was asked to dance several times tonight. IT was so much fun. Got my workout in. LOL!!

    nerves are setting in...

Wow! 45-60 minutes of walking daily is incredible!!! I have an irrational fear that, if I were to take up a daily routine like that, I would run into a plateau and not know where to go from there. I cannot imagine spending more than an hour on cardio every day. I was looking through the "Twenties NSVs" last night/this morning (the first 5 pages, cos it got to be 5:47am rather quickly, lol) and one person mentioned they work out twice a day! My face: O.o;?! I just finished up that third week of my "Make It Work" lifestyle change (Idk, I love Tim Gunn...) and, after the fourth, I'm rewarding myself with an hour-long full-body massage before I "kick it up a notch" with 4x/week. I know what you mean about getting comfortable with having lost the weight to a point where you quit working at it and things just pile right back on. But the most I've ever lost was 61 lbs in 2004 and I was still at 216 when I went away to college freshman year and put it all back on. The gym was too long of an uphill walk. Talk about an ironic excuse! LMAO! I've had a "good cold beer" post-surgery. The carbonation isn't as terrible as soda. (I haven't touched soda! Not willing to take that risk!) But I couldn't drink even half of a Smirnoff Ice. It just wouldn't all fit like it used to. If you do attempt to drink a beer, definitely wait until you're done with your post-op diet regimine and back to eating solid foods and such. Then open the beer and stick it in the fridge with the lid removed and let the carbonation kinda fizzle a bit. Still tastes the same... unless you love head on your beer and then I can't really help ya there. Except I've heard of people taking something like Gas-X before drinking.
  25. Last night, my husband and I went out. I dressed in a shortish dress with my hair french-braided and cute shoes and I felt so good about how I looked. But that's not the NSV... We were out sort of late. This morning, I heard the dogs and thought I'd let my husband sleep in so I quietly got up and grabbed my jeans and t-shirt off the chair and snuck into the bathroom to get dressed. When I put on the jeans and buttoned/zipped them, they were tight. I was all "WTF?" because my jeans have been pretty loose - I need to wear a belt with most of them. So I was surprised that the jeans were tight. I looked in the bathroom mirror and sort of turned a little and noticed that the back pocket had a faded square that was perfectly the shape of a wallet. I HAD PUT ON MY HUSBAND'S JEANS BY MISTAKE! And they fit! Oh, they were a little tight but I could wear them!! What an awesome feeling. I had a bit of a whoosh these past few days, so I'm down to 215.5.
