Great job! love reading NSV
-
I would have to say i am more focus on a size rather than a number on a scale. I would love to be able to walk in wet seal, body shop, charlotte russe, rue 21 etc and buy things other thanjewelry...the shoes dont even fit me half the time. I am 5'4" 273 btw

Congrats, that is so awesome! I love NSVs!!!

Just an update. My wife and I have been on a long battle with weight loss. The last 6 months since surgery has made a big difference. In the last 3 years we have lost 273lbs together. In the last 6 months since we had surgery we has lost 128lbs. We are getting so close to our goals. I had a NSV this week. I started out in a 60long suit. I bought a 46long this week. My wife was a size 28-30. I bought her 12-14 for mother's day. The last time I was this size I was 15 years old. Dr. Sanchez put us on his success stories this week. All you support has been such a great blessing. Thanks Dow And Debbie Moses

NSVs are the best!!

At the doctors today the nurse used the "regular" sized blood pressure cuff and it fit just fine!! In the past she had to break out the really big one for me...so yeah, it feels good!

I had a very similar NSV too! Kept messing with the seat every time I got in, getting frustrated till I realized the seat wasn't moved...I had moved! It's also fun to check out the seatbelt...look for the hamburger dripping stains, ya know, where it hits you across the chest? That moves too as you shrink. You have to check it before you readjust the seat though, or you can't tell how much the stain has moved. Do you have that seatbelt stain, too? Great NSV! Gotta love it!

Good for you Vines! I think that we sometimes put too much emphasis on the amount of weight we lose, but the number on the scale really can be meaningless. Most of us start this process with similar goals-to be healthier, in better shape, smaller. What you have accomplished is exactly that!!!! I say good for you. We all also chose the band over RNY for our own reasons. This is not a race. You are doing great, and I bet accomplishing many of the NSV's that you had your mind set on when you began this journey. Keep sharing your success - you are truely a motivation!

"30 days smoke free' is your real issue, my dear. That's a huge life change, every big as big and drastic as WLS. First no ciggies, then a liquid diet for weeks? Who could cope?! No wonder you are depressed! You have lost 2 very important coping mechanisms within weeks of one another...I'd be schitzo. Seriously! Give yourself a break. This is YOUR journey. You are comparing apples and oranges with RNY folks and honestly, what the heck are you gonna do about it NOW? There's nothing you can do right now. It's too soon to revise. You are wasting good energy being envious. Quit looking at RNY sites for a while. Find some good relaxation techniques that will work for you. Seek counseling, or start your own NSV thread and journal your pretty little head to death...spill it all! And are you exercising or at least walking? Your poor fiance. Tell him you are working on pulling your head out, be patient, tell him to give you a few extra hugs a day, you'll be okay. You just need to get over this hump. We are here for you! BTW, well done on the smoking. You are doing great! You really are!!! Healthy new you is emerging. Yay!

Congrats, I think clothing NSV's are truly the best!

Yes Alex, you got it right. That's a great NSV Alex, sorry you still have hpb but now you are not afraid to face it.

That is a wonderful NSV! the best kind are the ones where you can hold your head up high and know that your weight was NOT an issue!! Thats awesome!
-
Actually, I think this might be the best NSV I've read here on LBT. I don't think this NSV is in your mind at all. Seriously, what an accomplishment to be able to discuss your health regarding a specific issue or symptom, without the information being diluted or modified by having been filtered through that familiar pre-existiong condition, obesity. An excellent NSV and step in the right direction regarding you HBP. Congrats!

Ok, So I weigh 202 today and I hoped to be in ONEderland. Close, but no cigar. Anyways, I'm still pretty happy being this close to ONEderland. Also, just wanted to share my biggest NSV thus far - I'm graduating from law school at 2 pm today! I'm so happy, I have worked so hard, and I'm just so darn excited! And the best part is, now that I have lost 43 lbs, I will actually let people take pictures of me to remember this day by! -

Well I had my second fill last Wednesday( i think it was) & wow what a difference!!! I mean I will try & explain the sensation compared to my first fill. With the 1st fill (1cc)I could feel restriction BUT would still eat untill I felt full which was when I felt like throwing-up. I mean I ate more than I should because I felt hungry & the only time I didn't feel hunger was when I felt pain. Also I would be hungry about 1 to 2 hour later. Now with the second fill(+.5 total 1.5cc) I actually don't feel like throwing up & feel this satisfaction level unlike anything before. I mean I am literally full in about 3 to 4 bites of pure protein & about 10 bites to 12 of non protein. I am full for HOURS! All liquids I have zero problems with. Its wonderful to feel so full & truely SATISFIED:) NSV- At Boston chicken I ordered a single dinner & could barely eat 1/2. Normally I would have ordered a family dinner & even though it would have served me for several meals - I would have ate enough for 2 or more people. Now the only BAD part is I am not getting in enough calories I think?? Because the scale has not moved at all which is discouraging. I have been getting around 1000 per day & tons of water but no luck in moving the scale. So I guess I need to eat more? at least I think so? Anyone have ANY Ideas??? Anyhow - I just never knew the TOTAL AWE I would feel over this band! I mean I can't believe this feeeling of fullness & satisfaction in such a small amount of food. It really does work!!!

Cool! What a great NSV!

I had a meeting at work today and I had not seen a few of my subordinates since starting my weight loss journey. One of them came up and the first words out of their mouth was that it looked like I was melting away. I thought they were making a joke but they noticed I had lost a fair amount of weight.....the great thing is...nobody at work even knows I am dieting....so they weren't just being polite. :heh: I must say...that rocked...because I don't see it yet...but obviously they must.

Very nice NSV. Keep up the good work. P

My Driver's License is now correct!
piercedqt78 replied to Brewa2000's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I remember when my weight finally matched my license. I also posted it as a huge NSV as I had lied about my weight to begin with. I recently moved and had to update my address so again I lied and listed my goal weight. So once again I am trying to match my license weight. LOL. ~Mandy -
Hey everyone! Just wanted to post something that happened to me while shopping in NYC. I was with my best friend and we were walking down 5th Avenue. We're stopped at a crosswalk and a man taps me on the shoulder and says... "Excuse me miss. I don't typically do this but I really feel I need to tell you something." Of course, I'm thinking something terrible...food in teeth, split my pants...whatever. He says, "I've walked the streets in Manhattan my entire life and I have to tell you that you're the most beautiful woman I've ever seen" HELLO!!??? I haven't had a compliment from other than my husband in years! My friend said I was smiling so wide she thought my face would crack! I LOVE NEW YORK!!:grouphug:

I do believe that this may qualify as an NSV!
