  1. I just had a revision and another hernia repair on sept 7. Starting weight 172. I think it's going to work now.

  2. Had my revision gastric bypass surgery May 29th but now I'm soooooo second guessing myself not that I can go back or anything. I'm just so scared of the aftermath. 5 days out I'm really having a hard time getting my liquids in. I'm breaking my head thinking of what I can eat on my puree diet. I think maybe I'm just being to hard on myself. Just needed to vent. Any advise will help. TIA

Pinterest - bypass puree stage - its a nice resource and helps distract you from going in circles inside your head.

I loved the pre-made soups at Target. The ones I liked are in cartons on the soup aisle. They're very good. I liked the roasted red pepper and the butternut squash. It was nice to have some savory things to eat.

It gets better. I was at my wits end by the end of the 1st week of purees. Just stick with it and once you start getting cleared for soft, solids and then finally raw foods, it makes the struggle that much more tolerable. *IT WILL GET BETTER*!

  3. Hope your surgery went well, Dr. C and Dr. Costas from Montifiore will be doing a full revision on me in January. I'd like to know what you think of her. I had my original surgery in 2003, lost well over 150 pounds, then had several complications (3 small bowel resections and 2 hernias) which now require a revision to a gastric sleeve to allow for nutrition to be better. I wondered what you thought of her and her team? Thanks nancy

  4. disgusted with the band, looking into revision to vertical sleeve

  5. BOOOO.... why can't I get having gastric sleeve revision surgery out of my head. :/

  6. hello everybody I did reach my goal of 150lbs and I actually gt down to 143 at one point then I had some complications.... I kept throwing up and my band slipped then I had to get all of the fluid out of my band so I was able to eat any and everyhing so I started bk gaining weight.... I had to had my band revise on 6-09-11 so now Im kind of starting over. even though I dnt have a lot of weight to lose I still want to get bk to at least 150 and Im like 13 lbs away so it is a process

  7. Great, you're lucky. I think these GB revisions are really going well and changing people's lives whose first surg just didnt do it...PLEASE stop smoking...smoking closes up your blood vessels so you dont heal as well as well as really aging your (currently) beautiful face!

  8. hey you hopw youre doing well i just had surgery to have my port revised on the 23rd follow your docs orders and as soon as you can start moving. I know it sounds dumb why would you need surgery if you liked excersise but its crucial to your weight loss success.. good luck chica..

  9. Hi. I'm sorry to hear that you're having problems. I had problems with pain in the port area and had to have port revision surgery about 4 months post-op. Other than that though and the fact that even the revised port is still a problem - I've done pretty well. Am 14 months post-op now and have lost 100+ pounds and am within 9 pounds now of a 'normal' b.m.i. so that is a short-term goal.

  10. Oh wow. I am wondering if our expectations of restriction are too high. I get a pain if i eat too much but it is not bad. Never feel like i need to throw up or anything. Not knowing exactly how much is in my band doesn't help. I have read on here that people have smaller bands that hold like 4mls - does that sound right? Hope you don't have to have a revision. Take care.

  11. Hi Susan, I am in the process of getting insurance approval for lap band. I see that you reversed your lapband and got a gastric sleeve revision. I am reading a lot of negetive things about the band on this site and getting really scared. Can you share with me your experience with the band and why you switched.

  12. hi chrissy, had my revision surgery w/ dr mehta 1/5/10. doing real well how about u? my right side hurts alittle yet but lost 20 lbs. hope to hear from u soon faz

  13. I didn't realize the chances of port flippage was so high. I'm finally ready to get back to the gym since my revision. I had done some treadmill a few times in the last week, but with the healing and holidays - it's time to get back at it. Have you been taking progress pictures? I've had a friend doing "professional" ones - she's building her portfolio. I already look so different from my pictures, especially my face. Isn't it fun?

I thought you went to EP - you were a senior while I was a freshman. I think you actually dated my good friend Jeff, though we never met.

    How has clothing shopping been for you? I feel like it's been a part-time job for me! I was a 26/28 shirt and I'm an 18/20 top (unless it's a button up, which I need a 22). I was a 28 jeans I'm between a 22 and 24 now (I feel like I'm only solidly in a size for like a month!).

    Take care,

    Amber

  14. Hey there, Sorry I just saw this message. I rarely come to this site any more. Glad to share my info if your still interested. I used Patty K Young in Plano. She was awesome and would recomend her to anyone. I had to have a revision (she wanted to take a little more off in front and had a dogear which is very common) She did them in her office under local for no charge! I was off work for 6 weeks and needed it. I might have been able to go back after 5, but was really tired. Hope that helps, let me know if you need any other info.

  15. HEY there how are you? As for me, well I just found out my port has flipped on it's side. Doc said they might have to revise it! Ahhh another surgery! If they cannot access it for fills, and unfills or if it causes me pain. I am so worried!

  16. My husband is active duty Air Force. We have Tricare Prime, and my revision was performed at a military hospital. Tricare covers the VSG only at military hospitals that are performing the sleeves. If I could not have found a military hospital that did sleeves, I would not have been approved. I jumped hoops, and fought for the revision. They just wanted to replace my band, and I refused it saying if they wouldn't approve it, they could take my band out, and take the risk of my stomach being screwed up from the band, and having to fix that problem.

    Hope that helps.

  17. I am looking for info on the revision from lapband to sleeve....Any info and input would greatly be appricated....Cost, Mexico?, Side effects, anything you know, please share with me....good or bad!

  18. I have so appreciated all the information and resources you provide to everyone...they have been so helpful to me! I am trying to figure out where & how to get a band to sleeve revision. If I can get my insurance to cover it in the US- I will do that, provided I can find a good revision surgeon...Otherwise, I will definitely be going with Dr. Aceves- and this is all because of research I've done on him after reading information posted by YOU...so thank you! =)

  19. I had a band before then revised to the sleeve. No rerouting or anything additional was done except removing my band, and doing the sleeve. Thank you for the sweet comment.

  20. Surgery on May 13th...revision from band (ick) to sleeve!

  21. Port Revision is tomorrow. I wish I knew what to expect.

  22. Lab band started to slip. Stopped working after about 2 1/2 years. Had revision surgery to sleeve gastrectomy 4 weeks ago. My journey has begun again. Down 23 lbs. since sleeve surgery.

  23. 2nd revision surgery scheduled for the 23rd of August. That's twice in under 6 months. I just want it fixed.

  24. Leaky port? Check. Revision to replace leaky port? Check. Port still leaking? Yes, damnit. 2nd replacement port surgery in 2 weeks...
