The NSVs keep me going especially when the scale isn't moving. As LilMissDiva says, I don't wear a scale around my neck! People see the clothes you wear, not the number on the scale!!

Nsv - He Thinks He Is So Cool!
CAsleeve replied to ShellBear's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I can not wait for that same NSV!! I would love for my husband to be able to pick me up. Well, he is super strong and could do it now, but I wouldn't dare let him for vanity sake. I want it to be effortless for him...so he does it often! Even just to be able to sit on his lap, you know how couples do sometimes. I just want to be able to crawl all over him! And, yes, as cludgie says, carry me over the threshold, finally! -
I just had to share this one! So, I was being bratty last night and teasing my hubby, pushing and poking him and daring him to do something about it. The next thing I know I am hanging upside down over his shoulder and he runs in to the front room and I'm laughing and yelling, "you just think your cool cuz you can throw your wife around now"! My 23 y/o son who was visiting said, "that's what you get for being so skinny". Me? Skinny? Really? I am having so much fun with the new me and apparently hubby is enjoying the ride as well! I just had to share with my VST family! Love you all! Shell

pat fitz replied to rensterness's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My NSV today. Got my haircut tonite. The gal that normally cuts my hair hasn't seen me in 2 months. When she saw me she was all OMG. You look great. When she put the cape on me. She says your neck is so smalliI had no trouble snapping it. What a great feeling. 65 lbs pre-op just short of 4 weeks post-op another 45 lbs gone. Love my sleeve. It is gonna be a fun ride. -
Self Hating...WTH?
Inner Surfer Girl replied to Momof2inIowa's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hey, you were laying in the bathtub! That is one of the biggest NSVs I am looking forward to. -
I forgot to add I haven't driven in several months and today I borrowed my daughters little kia car and for the first time I didn't rub the steering wheel. I also walked to the store twice today which is a mile, with a long hill at the end. I feel so proud I could burst. You see, no more wheelchair walker or cane for me, I sent them to the nursing home. NSV means Non scale victory and DH is Dear husband.

I have to share my NSV. Yesterday on my daily walk I found every few steps I was pulling up my pants, so when I got home I went shopping in my daughters closet and tried on her pants, THEY FIT. She wasn't very happy that I stole her pants, but I sure am. Started at a size 30W now a 22W, long way to go but I'm on my way. I can't remember the last time I was in a 22.

I made it to my final goal!
formerfatchick replied to Mechbandster's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Mechbandster, Big CONGRATS !!! It's really inspiring to see someone reach there goal so fast !! I know that it's not the same for everyone but I hope I can get there in a year's time !! Your statement about NSV really made me think about paying attention to all the other little things and not soo much on that damn number !!! ENJOY !!!! You deserve it !!! -
Since I started this at 330 pounds, it takes more weight loss to show, and I 've been wondering if/when anyone would notice a difference. I went into an antique shop on my lunch hour yesterday, and the first thing the proprietor said was "You've lost weight!" I could have hugged her! She was the first person who noticed...probably because we haven't seen each other for several months. What a lift to my spirits and determination that was!:clap2: I also noticed a couple of days ago that my watch, which would barely latch a couple of months ago, is actually loose enough to slide all the way around on my wrist on its own. Can't notice a difference in my clothes yet, but I have always worn looser clothing than many people. It will come, I know. But I just had to share my two NSVs with people who would understand! Emily

Wow, it has almost been a full month for some of us and now it is time to venture out into the real world of food again. Great to hear how well your lunch went. It is nice to see how people are handling these real world situations. It is great that you like fish - I can't stomach it. I am hoping my taste will change with the surgery, I've heard that does happen. Great NSV! Keep up the good work!

Hi everyone. I've been posting a lot lately but I just wanted to share my very first NSV!! I travel regularly and need to use a seat belt extender while on a flight for about the past year or so. This weekend I took two flights, one on them those teeny tiny planes, and both times I didn't need a seat belt extender!!!!! The seatbelt is still a little bit snug but I'm soooo excited! I got my sleeve just two weeks ago on 12/5! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Listening To My Husband :)
Ms skinniness replied to poohmsg's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
This is awesome insight! Yes, do listen to your husband. It's natural to see yourself as the bigger you, but reality is knocking at your door! Let reality in and readjust your picture of yourself as a slimmer, yes smaller, you. CONGRATS! This is an awesome NSV! -
Was feeling good today . Wore a pair of Levi's from 1967 ( ok, really from 2005 but same difference) Anyways- at daycare pick up a little girl wanted to touch the baby in my tummy . I guess my 75lbs weight loss transitioned me from fat to pregnant !!! Can I count that as a NSV Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

danyelleb replied to jennifer4444's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Great NSV! Thank u so much for sharing. It is amazing how much the sleeve changes our lives and the lives of those closest to us. What a blessing! -
Ok, so I just had to share my NSV, 'cause it is funny!!! I was at the gym last week hanging by my arms doing my lower ab work out. I was wearing a pair of work out pants that are obviously getting too big, because just as I was getting ready to tuck my knees up to my chest....my pants started to fall down! My workout buddy quickly saw what was happening and helped me out by pulling them up and tightening up the drawstring!! Thanks workout buddy, you're the best!

1 Month Post Op Today, Will When This Stall End?!
Neese replied to traceyc's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Had my surgery 1/31 and I hit my stall at 2-2 1/2 weeks and it lasted for 3 weeks and I dropped two pounds and like u my clothes were/are getting looser. Don't let the scale dictate your journey--focus on the positives! I hate when I read that but it's SO true. I've been much happier since I've focused on NSVs. You're strong and you're doing fine. enjoy the journey!! -
I'm 6 weeks post op and I'm down two jeans sizes! Today I put on a pair of jeans that were so tight 3 months ago that I could barely breathe with them on, and they were so loose all over that I could get them off easily without unbuttoning them! Tonight I had hubby take measurements since I hadn't done any for almost 6 months. From June until now I've lost 2" in each calf, 2" in my hips, and almost 7" in my waist! It's unbelievable. Here's a picture comparing July and now.

In my time since starting with the doctor, I've lost 24 lbs. I could tell in the mirror this morning. This is my first NSV and probably only the second time in my adult life losing weight that I could tell!!!!

Food Addiction/Emotional Eating Worry
PrettyThick1 replied to JillC878's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good for you in making all of those positive life changes...you're very brave to do it all relatively at the same time and I admire your tinacity. I know it's hard, but you will only make it worse by worrying about how you're going to make it through. You've done great so far! You are now a non-smoker and before you know it, you will be a non-food addict! Don't worry about how you're going to do it...just take it one day, one hour, one minute and at times it might be one second at a time. Replace those urges to smoke or eat by sipping a cool glass of water, or writing a list of things you're looking forward to doing in the next 6 months to a year...anything to keep your hands and mind occupied. Start sewing...you'll need that skill when you start losing weight because shopping isn't going to be practical for a while for you. Meditate, go for walks, practice deep breathing and imagine helping your body to clear your lungs out from all of the old smoker's gunk. Get creative...just don't go back to any of your bad habits. The light is starting to shine at the end of the tunnel...just keep working your way there. We're waiting to hear your victory NSV's and other worthwhile accomplishments. Go you! -
I've always loved a relaxing bath with a good book and can soak for ages... However, I did that less and less over the years as the tub had to hold more of me and less water! As I sat in the bath today, I noticed I don't fill the width of the tub! By the time I reach goal weight, there will be room for two
