I have yet to get a new belt for work. I just keep adding holes to my old one. Today for fun I buckled it to my pre surgery hole. Loved the results think I'll keep this belt as long as possible just for motivation.

Atta girl!!!!!! What great NSV's - being an active participant in your life and your daughter's, not feeling pain when moving and climbing that hill! Great job. Keep up the great work.

Last night i was washing clothes when i got a call that my husband was taken to the emergency room. i looked around and all the clothes that fit half way decent was in the washing machine or dryer. There was a pair of jeans i figured would take a couple of months to get into just hanging in my closet taunting me to try them on. so i did and they fit. i didn't have time to do a happy dance but i did smile. i wore them and they were comfortable. the scale may not be going down much but inches are. so ppl don't get discouraged by your scale. oh my husband is fine. he fainted at work but it wasn't his heart nor did he have a stroke. he will likely have to make the rounds of the specialists to see if they can't find the problem.

Hmm I can't seem to figure out which forum this fits in best so I guess I'll post it here. I put on a pair of 20 jeans! AND then bent over and tired my shoes without turning blue in the process. I did the happy dance!!!!! Last week the 20's were still a bit snug.

Spent the weekend with my girlfriend on Long Island and did a little suburban shopping on Saturday. Well I had one heck of a NSV. I tried on some dresses and I looked pretty good in a couple of them and decided to buy them. Got home earlier this evening, put one of the dresses back on and have been staring in the mirror and looking at myself because it's been just so long since I've worn a dress. Oh boy are my co-workers are going to be so surprised when they see me tomorrow...

Yesterday was the first day since surgery (1/18) that I truly felt ecstatic and overjoyed. Many NSV's to come (kinda long...): 1) Finally found a food I can tolerate, that tastes great, and that I can eat a decent amount of: Chili! I know... I'm a late-bloomer when it comes to chili. 2) My neighbor, who hasn't seen me since the day after surgery, hobbling down my apartment hallway wearing baggy PJ pants and a t-shirt, saw me yesterday wearing yoga pants and a pretty pink (snug) t-shirt and said, "Wow! You're looking great!" 3) My boss came back to work and, in the middle of updating me on what I missed while I was away, said, "Gosh, you're getting skinny!" (We sure do use the term "skinny" loosely, don't we?) 4) But best of all... I went to Macy's and decided to try on some jeans (since the ones I wore to work were falling off me). I normally HAAAAAATE clothes shopping, but felt brave today. Pre-surgery I wore a (tight) size 18, and found some size 16 jeans, and... They fit PERFECTLY! I paired them with a size 1x top (formerly a 2x), and actually jumped up and down in the dressing room with joy! I actually looked cute! And I couldn't believe I could actually wear a skinny jean. I ended up buying 2 pairs of jeans and 3 tops. Those should last me a while. I wanted to post this for those who are also just starting out, like me. I was super discouraged at my 2nd appointment on 2/7. I was in the midst of a stall and was feeling like the procedure wasn't working (3 pounds lost in 2 weeks). I followed doctor's orders, and now I'm down 9 pounds in 10 days. The surgery DOES work - if you work it properly. And the good far outweighs the bad!

Whoop! Whoop! Awesome NSV! -
Great NSV! I never felt comfortable in skinny jeans either, but have come to like them more, especially now that I bought a really cute pair of boots. Congrats! I found a great consignment store near where I live, they have lots of high end stuff. Got a pair of Banana Republic jeans for $9 and they fit so nicely. Another good option for cheaper clothing while still losing, and there are so many more choices in the less than plus sizes.

I had to return clothes! :)
goirish78 replied to goirish78's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I had my first really awesome NSV today. I had ordered some new school clothes for fall (I'm a teacher) when the catalog was having a great sale, and ordered all my tops in a 3X (my usual size). They arrived today and were huge...not just a little too roomy, but HUGE. I don't think I've ever been so happy to pay return shipping costs in my life. Can't wait until I can shop in cheaper regular stores and not be stuck with ordering online. -

Great NSV -
So these past few days I feel I have posted negative things about my surgery. I know I was just looking for relief and some answers. Update: Picc line was put in for added nutrition, not as bad as I thought it would be. I have officially lost 39 lbs in my journey. Im out of the 300's and into 200s. Nsv: I dont have to wear bra extended anymore. My shoes are too big and I can see my own feet when I look down.

As I was reading your post, I'm thinking "she should totally make a quilt out of the bigger size ones when they become too big." Great minds... Congrats on the NSV, lets me know I can also reach my list of personal NSV's I have in my head.

I have been going to concerts since I was eleven when my dad took me to see the Rolling Stones. Since then I have been to close to a hundred big name shows and about three dozen live local shows. Every show I have ever been to I have bought a shirt and they were a huge part of my wardrobe; I took very good care of them, made them look cool with jeans, shorts, little skirts, tights, boots, flats, heels, scarves, cardigans, blazers, etc. Obviously the ones I bought when I was much younger (early teens) didn't fit for very long but then in the last three years, none of them fit well. It felt as if a piece of my identity grew too small for me and it made me sad. I sealed them up, boxed them up and stored them away. Last night as I was pulling out the last of my Halloween goodies, locating Thanksgiving/Christmas "stuff", I decided I'd bring the box of concert T's in to see if any of them would fit. All but a dozen or so looked good. Not just fit but look good. I was stoked! And I know that once they get too big, I'm going to make a quilt for my King Size bed out of them! Then I'll start collecting ones in a size that I can strut until the threads wear out.

What Is Your Latest NSV?
BarrySue replied to 4MRB4PHOTO's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I'm so happy for you, OP! I had a similar embarrassing experience at Universal studios and have never been back since (I live in Orlando, and it breaks my heart to not be able to go anywhere but plus size-friendly Disney). I'm still too big for the coasters, but not for much longer, so I hope to experience the same NSV soon! -
What Is Your Latest NSV?

My latest NSV was really a Negative NSV! :-P I found a shirt I really wanted BAD! It was the only one in purple they had. And it was 3 sizes too BIG! I was too thin to wear it. :-) Get my free eBook - The Top 10 WLS Fears and How to Kick Their Butt!
