  1. In the last 3 weeks I have been religiously working out on my Bowflex and feel as if I have toned quite a bit. The downside is that muscle weighs more than fat and I cannot seem to make my scale move right now. I've lost 45 lbs since beginning this journey but only 20 of that since my surgery on 4/17 this year. I'm eating right but also having a glass of wine each night (this was okayed by my doc and nutritionist). The good news is my clothes are fitting better (I'm down a couple of sizes) so that is an NSV I suppose. Has anyone else experienced this? I see my surgeon tonight and wonder what he might suggest.

have you been checking your measurements? Sometimes the NSV's help with the slow weight loss. Good luck!

    This is weird

When I started I wasn't wearing jeans because my 24s no longer fit and I refused to venture any further than that. Now I'm in baggy size 12 jeans, from F21 of all places. But I don't understand it. Obviously the way weight loss works is you lose weight and clothes fit differently yadda yadda but, it's just so weird to me. I guess it's an nsv in a way right? I don't feel like I should be in anyones 12 much less them be baggy. What am I to do when the 12 is too big??? It's a great feeling to know that I fit into clothes or that I don't for a good reason. But I still don't feel like I belong in the "skinny:" side. I still have that feeling that an associate will come up to me and point me towards the plus sized section. Mental weight loss is a real b***h!

    Before photo tips

Besides the poses everyone else has already mentioned, I also took some of my hands. Specifically showing how far down my finger I could put on some rings that no longer fit. One of those rings that I couldn't get past the knuckle on the before pic, fits perfectly now, even so early out. But without the aid of that pic I would have sworn that I've lost no weight in my hands. It's a great motivator and NSV in one.

    NSV - ????

I'm going on vacation next week, it will be 9 weeks post LB, 1.5 weeks post gall bladder removal. I went to Marshalls to look for a dress or two....usually I haven't found much there, not a huge fan of their "plus size" items. But I tried on a bunch of dresses size 14 and 16, not women's but a regular 14 & 16....every item fit, I didn't like the look of all of them but they all fit!! I walked away with 3 beautiful dresses!! I'm so excited! The styles of them will also be flattering as I continue to loose FYI at 8 weeks I'm down 20 lbs!

    A review of Optifast

I just wanted to add... If you can stick to this, it really works. I've been doing some light exercise along with it 3 days a week, and I've lost almost 20lbs! I'm officially down a pant size. It's pretty cool to have an NSV before even being banded!

    Nsv!

Yippie! I had to go shopping last night for new clothes for work, and was quite happy to see I am in a size 16 now! I started off as a 20 (probably should have been a 22, but I was in denial, lol), and while the scale hasn't moved as quickly as I would have liked, it is nice to have this happen. Made me feel really, really confident!

    My Legs Hurt :(

Over the last week or so I've been concerned about the outter upper area of my calves hurting. Well my nurse instinct took over and I thought...well I'm a woman on birth control after surgery who used to smoke ALOT sooooo **** do I have a blood clot? Oh I don't want a blood clot, I don't want to go to the hospital, I don't want endless lovenox shots, I don't want to be on coumadin for the rest of my life But its both legs, same exact place, no redness, no swelling, just a kinda tender. I don't run or anything that it might be a pulled muscle causing the pain, so what in the world is wrong with me. Well after some time and paying closer attention to my daily habits I have come to realize that my outter upper calves hurt because thats where my bony knees dig into my calf when I cross my legs...thats right my smaller thighs are causing me calf pain cuz I can finally cross my legs like a woman instead of a linebacker pretty sure I couldn't even do that in HS. A bit of a tender NSV but a NSV nonetheless
  13. Lol, I've never been a fan of leggings. But my husband bought me a new outfit when he was away at army training. Roflmao,I looked at those little clothes...a size small of all things.. and shook my head.. thinking how do I show him I appreciate his gift knowing that WON'T fit... lol, so I took the plunge. To my surprise they fit. And to my second surprise, leggings aren't bad🤣 Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Oh happy day!

Today brings a NSV! My husband got me boots for Christmas last year (extra wide calf) and I couldn't zip them up over my ankles even ????. Thought I would try them on this morning and they zipped right up!! Now if it wasn't summer I would totally be sporting them everywhere ????
  17. 4 months ago I used fear putting my clothes into a hot dryer due to fears of my jeans, sweaters and shirts shrinking and getting too small. Flash forward and now I put everything into the dryer without any reservations and sometimes I actually try to shrink my stuff! It's a small NSV , but a victory none the less for me. From a size 2xl to L in 3 1/2 months feels surreal to me still.

At the doctors today the nurse used the "regular" sized blood pressure cuff and it fit just fine!! In the past she had to break out the really big one for me...so yeah, it feels good!

    Yoga Confidence

All men on the planet owe the inventor of this a beer. @@treblecutie23 - Congrats. That is an amazing NSV. It is startling when you don't recognize yourself for the first time. I remember getting to class late, and all my favorite hide outs were gone. I almost considered bagging the class. It was a great confidence builder not to wimp out. Please feel free to share pictures of your downward dog. (I mean just for pointers and encouragement).

    Yoga Confidence

Boy, do I understand this! Getting down on the floor has been one of my best NSVs from WLS. And not only getting down there, but getting back up again. Sometimes, I swear, I just sit or lie on the floor to enjoy how easy it is to get up again. It's magnificent!
