Congratulations! Btw most of the old Navys discontinued the sale of plus sizes in store but they do still take the returns in store from online  So if you wanna reorder something just take it in for credit, get a smaller size, and work towards that size You're doing awesome with your weight loss and it's always a wonderful NSV when you hit milestones in clothing sizes! Keep up the great work!

Hiya Sue, HUUUUGE CONGRATS on this momentous Williams related NSV !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I, as you know, do not scoff at the inspiration of the one and only Williams, he truly has magical powers !!!!!!!!!!!!! Just think, when you got your Tshirt in 1999, you got it for Robbie the boy. In June you will be wrapping yourself in it for ROBBIE THE MAN !!!!!!!! I am a great believer in fate. It must be meant to be that after all these years our boys are back together in the very year that you are able to wear that treasured Tshirt for the first time. Today really is a good day!!!!!! Keep up the great work love and stay positive. Not long to go now, June is just around the corner !!!!!!!!! Love Angela xxx -

Oh my goodness that is the best NSV EVER!!!! Congrats! -
After I finished my C25k run today at the gym I was looking for something else to do as a cool down. I walked by the dumb bell rack, and saw a 60lb dumb bell. I wrestled that beast off the bottom of the rack and went over to the scale. I stepped up and with it I weighed 257. The owner of the gym whose also a good friend walked by and saw what I was doing, he asked me if that was what I weighed before. No, I weighed 3 lbs more than this. Gotta a high five for it....felt good! Damn that thing was heavy too...

Well done -it's great that you are experiencing NSVs with your clothes - they are at least as important as the scales. You're right - you will have ups and downs, so stay focused on the longer term goals you have, be patient and stay motivated. Try to build in some exercise when you can, as that will not only help your weight loss but also your general fitness levels. BTW, isn't Edinburgh a beautiful city? -

I think I have been a little to premature in reducing my pain killers. I spent virtually most of today sleeping! The last time I did that we discovered that I wasn't gewt proper sleep because of the pain, hence why I am on so many pain killers. I suspect that because have cut down my daily pills the nighttimes one haven't been working as effectively. I relied to much on the psychological impact of doing such a positive thing, rushing into silly behaviour! Time to re-introduce my day time pain killers, even though in theory the pain is bareable, my body and brain don't think it is (my feet and knees always seem to be in pain anyway it is ease to use mind over matter!). Had wondered why my bed looked as if I had danced a tango over it each night lol. I had a most horrible pain th is morning, I thought the band could have slipped, but after going back to bed, the pain eased off and it hasn't returned. A lady did tell me what it felt like if you had a slippage, something like chest pains, this wasn't the case with me, it was lower down, I guess more orund the bowel area, maybe the fod I ate had finally decided to disagre with me. I don't want to lose control like I did that day, eaing small amounts but very frequently which is very bad! So the pain was really just punishment. Still after all that I still love the fact, that the inches are slowly creeping off my frame, I put on a black dress that I hadn;t worn for over 4 years because it had made me look like a michellin man! It's still not as loose as it was when I first wore it, years ago; but, it really doesn;t cling and show off all te bumps like it had done! So that was a very poisitive NSV! I have a fake fur jacket which is also somethign that I can;t wait to wear again! I think a lot of my NSV's are based on clothes! Protein Powder now this one confuses me slightly. Do we have to have protein powder for the rest of our lives?? Think I need to search through the forum see what answers I can come up with!

Yesterday I took my kids to buy some things at Old Navy. I did not know my size, because most of my clothes prior to surgery (7/12) had elastic which is quite forgiving (pants at least). Earlier that day I culled my closet and got rid of two bags of size 18,20,22. 1X, 2x that are too big. Other things I can pin or alter. Anyway....at ON my daughter told me I should try on some jeans that were on clearance and... For really the first time in a decade..:. I can wear a size not followed by an X!! I'm comfortably in a regular size! I bought the $10 clearance jeans and felt like amazing. Can't tell you my actual weight loss because I only weigh twice a month but I'm losing well! NSV's: Promotion at Work and Deciding who to date...
PrettyThick1 posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Disclaimer: I am not bragging, I'm celebrating the changes in my life and giving newbies a couple of things to look forward to. I had no idea 50lbs and 3.5 months would make such a difference. I just got the news that I'm being promoted and have a FAT salary increase (after 9 years and very hard work that has gone unnoticed/unappreciated) and I'm trying to decide who to date. I know my promotion has a lot to do with the weightloss. I work in a male-dominated industry (oil and gas) and only attractive women seem to get good breaks in the office environment - just being honest, I am NOT bragging because I think I'm just regular!!! It also seems that I meet a new guy every other day and while it's easy to weed many of them out, I have three excellent prospects and I wish I could hang on to all of them. I am fully aware that two of them would not have given me a second look before I lost this weight and this will likely have some bearing on my final decision. But, it feels great to be more attractive again and to feel people staring at you from a distance...and you know why. It's also nice to hear "you're the perfect size now...don't lose anymore weight". I'm still going for 19 more pounds and hope to get there by the end of the year. -
NSV is Non-scale Victory, not sure about SLIMING

Wow, I can't wait just to wear mine again, I'll be happy when I can get them on! 'Course, I doubt my diamond is heavy enough to fall to one side, that takes weight, right? My little diamond is pretty but small. I love it cuz HE gave it to me though. I'll live. Great NSV!

I'm sitting at my desk staring at my wedding ring as it slowly slides around my finger. The diamond won't stay in place any more. It slides to the underside of my hand where my palm is. I spin the ring so the diamond is on top again, then watch it slide down. I've watched it 10 times already in complete amazement. I had to smear lotion all over my hand then struggle to get my ring off before my Band surgery. Now I have to wear the diamond on the inside of my palm because my ring is too big. Looks like I'm just wearing gold bands. Fascinating. Having my wedding ring sized down simply doesn't compute. Wild.

You gotta love a good NSV. You come to rely on them to a certain degree to help you get through this process. They don't validate what you are doing but they sure do make you feel good. Today, I had two, not one but two LOL. 1) I saw the light ... You know that ever evasive triangle of light at the top of your thighs. Well today, I saw it for the first time hehehe! I was just freaking giddy. and 2) I was talking to a co-worker, who knows about the surgery and here is how the coversation whent Co-worker: "OMG (she's young so she actually said the letters OMG lol ), what are you now a 4???" Me: "Uh, nope not yet but these pants I have been waiting to fit into for a while now, but they are a 9/10." Co-worker: "No way! Look at your legs, they are smaller than mine now and I am in a 4. Those pants have got to be sized wrong." Me: "Either way, THANKS! I appreciate that." Just made me smile.

The most exciting NSV to date.....all of a sudden I had a collarbone!!!! -
Lisa, I try to go to the gym at least 4 times a week. However, for now, I'm sticking to the treadmill for an hour at 2.5 and incline of 2.0-2.5. That may not be a lot for others but for someone who hates exercise, it's a big accomplishment. My lapband doctor has been encouraging me from day 1 to exercise. I trust him, so I listen and take his advice. Yet, in two weeks, I haven't lost any weight! But I've had NSV moments.

I feel like I am posting a lot, but I just had to share a few more victories! I hope everyone isn't getting sick of all my posts So, tonight I figured out how much weight I have lost in a percentage. I have lost 20% of my body weight!!!!!!!!! That is so awesome to think of it that way, and I am only a little over 2 months post-op. Not sure if this is NSV or not, but it shows that I am getting healthier everyday. For probably 2.5 years, I did not have a period. Instead, I would bleed ALL the time. It was horrible!!! I went to a GYN but felt like she blew me off. She put me on meds which made me want to kill someone so I stopped taking them. I just put up with it for tooooooo long! So, after surgery, I stopped bleeding for a while and I was SOOOOO excited. Then, I started to bleed again after a few weeks. It was horrible heavy. I almost went to the ER it was so bad one day. Then, it stopped again after 6-7 days like a normal period. Then, I didn't have any bleeding for 30 days!!!! WOOOOHOOOO. I had a normal period this week that lasted about 6 days, and it wasn't heavy like last time. Sorry if this is TMI, but I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited. I went to a new GYNO before surgery, and she didn't know if I had something going on or if it was just because of my weight. She said sometimes you can bleed because people with more fat produce more estrogen and that makes you bleed non-stop. Not sure what it was, but pretty sure its nothing serious or nothing I need to take any meds for!! I think my body is finally getting back to normal!!!!!!!! :) :) Oh yah, I guess this is another NSV. I have been off my BP meds since a few weeks post-op, and no more diuretics either! I don't have pitting edema in my legs anymore Gosh, so much is happening so soon after surgery, and I am still very overweight at 296 pounds.... wonder how great it will be when I get to goal!?!?!?!
-
Sarah!!! I'm SUPER happy for you! EVERY NSV deserves to cherished and shared! You are a true inspiration to us here So... THANK YOU!!!!!! Keep um coming girlie!!
-
Those are AMAZING NSV's! It's downright dangerous to have non-stop periods due to the blood loss. It's great that your cycle seems back to normal. And your BP getting back to normal is just as amazing. Congrats.

Yesterday I was out with my wife and she drew my my attention to a man with a large belly. She said, "That is just what you used to look like." "Yes, and you used to constantly tell me to pull my jacked-up shirt back over my belly!" I said. "You haven't bugged me about that in a long time!" "Yes, I know!" she said with a big smile. She didn't want me walking around with half a hairy belly sticking out, I didn't think I could help it. The shirts I bought fit fine when I bought them, washed once they became belly shirts. I literally walked around with both hands stretching the shirt down over the beach ball so I wouldn't get the needle from her. Of course, she didn't like that either. Now the silence is golden. I no longer own a shirt which instigates a Jerry Springer scene.
