    August Sleevers?! Where Ya's At?

I've been reading everyone's NSV posts a few of mine are: Packing to go on a trip and not freaking about what to wear. Having room in my suitcase because it won't be full of Lane GIANT size 22 clothes. Fitting in my airplane seat. Seeing plays at all the great little theaters here in Los Angeles and fitting in the seat and not pressing against the person next to me! 31 days to go!!!! Happy Dancing!!!!

    January Surgery Bandsters Group

Hi Ladies! Just got back from a beach trip to Hilton Head and I'm leaving for another 11 day vacation starting Thursday. Lucky me - two vacations, back to back. Great for the mind, but bad for my body. I went with a couple of friends and we were all in vacation "eat whatever we want" mode. So I gained a few pounds over the weekend. I'm back on track today, however I will be vacationing and eating out for 11 days straight, I know I will gain a few more pounds. I am such a slow loser, but a fast gainer. Does not seem fair! Anyway, MY birthday goal, which is only 9 days away, is to drop the extra few pounds I gained over the weekend and not gain anymore on the next vacation, and hopefully drop 2 more pounds (total of 4 pounds in 9 days???). I want to get down to 213 and I am at 217 today. Maybe it's liquids for me for a few days to kick start a loss. Anyway, I will check in to see how everyone is doing with my birthday goal. Let's hope the birthday girl meets her goal. Oh, almost forgot my NSV ....... I really liked one of the vacation pictures taken of me, so I posted on Facebook and received LOTS of awesome comments and likes. Made this soon to be 49 year old grandmother of two feel wonderful. Can't wait till I gt to goal and start posting some full body shots!

  11. Week 16 (4 months post op) Last week’s weight – 203.8 This week’s weight – 204.0 Total weight lost this week – I gained .2 pounds Total weight loss since surgery – 42 lbs Average weekly weight loss since surgery – 2.5 lbs Had to weigh in a day early this week due to a trip I am taking that is going to keep me from a scale tomorrow morning. I must have jinxed myself last week because this week I experienced my first gain in 4 months. I’m attributing it to not being as careful eating this week (we’ve had a giant local festival going on which involves a lot of food and alcohol). I’ve kept up the exercise (3 miles) although I might need to shake up my exercise routine a bit. Luckily it was only a .2 gain so it is not disastrous but I guess when you keep seeing losses week after week it was a bit of a shock. I should still be on track to be under 200 lbs by the time school starts (August 20th). Some thing I noticed this week was how badly alcohol was irritating my stomach (generating lots of acid). I am actually thinking that this is a good thing (It definitely makes me think twice before having any!). I am not sure if that is a direct result of the surgery or if its age. Either way I am fine turning down drinks in order to keep my stomach happy. On the NSV front I pulled out my driver’s license this week to see when it expired and I am now below the weight I have on it (Woo Hoo!). My challenge this week is a three day class I am taking (lots of eating out). Hoping my renewed commitment to watching what I eat helps me make wise choices from menus.
  12. That is a huge NSV! I'm so glad you've become healthier! I love hearing NSVs - some make you smile but some make you tear up for the incredible impact this procedure has had on our health and well being. This one made me shed some happy tears
  13. This is the BEST NSV I've ever read.....wow, from walking around the island in the kitchen to ALL DAY??? Start looking for tickets to Hawaii because I think that's the next island you'll be walking around......big day for you......and it only will get better. Sounds like your husband is a true gem too.....congratulations on a great day!!!
  14. Today was a milestone for me... I have used a motorized chair off and on for 5 years ..but all day/every day (24/7) for the last 3 years...Reason: i have had 2 back surgeries (have some disc fused) & have arthritis in my back, hips and knees (to name a few) ...Doctor wants to replace both my knees, but that's another post. Since my WLS, i have tried to walk a bit everyday...at first, just around the island in the kitchen... Then from one end of the house to the other... Last Monday i added short, slow walks outside with my husband...(he would ride in my motorized chair in case i needed it). The walks gave me the confidence i needed... Today, when i woke up, i said, "lets see how long we can go today without using the chair." well, i went from 5:45am to 5 pm...i was so happy, i cried when i told my husband after he got home from work... (he thought i hurt myself...sweet man, so caring) Physically, I am very sore....but mentally i feel GREAT! Thank you for listening

    Very Hard

TPN: total parenteral nutrition https://en.wikipedia...teral_nutrition Folks as a general rule of thumb please don't throw out acronyms unless they are in common usage, e.g. VSG, NSV etc. BTW: TinaMarie, I did a double and triple take on your avatar, couldn't figure out just what part of the body it was showing

    September/october Sleevers ?

My 6 months is also up in september and i have the same estimated time for surgery. my insurance only takes a week to a week and a half to decide, but im guessing i will have to submit it more than once. Im really excited to hear all of your progress. I also feel that i am gainin weight on this 6 month diet, but i had an acl surgery and gained 5 lbs and am in the process of getting it off, not happy about it. As far as the medifast. I never heard about the 'not hungry stage of ketosis.' I didn't feel hungry after awhile though. the only time i was actually hungry was having to watch people eat. if i got out of the room or kept myself busy it wasn't too bad. This forum keeps me sticking to my plans and keeps my hopeful. I love to hear success stories and nsvs!

50 Lbs Down... A Million To Go!

Congratulations!!! You are doing fantastic. All those NSV. WOW. With pants, those are weird. It takes a while for them to catch up. But when they do, it's all at once. I went from a 22 to an 18 in what seems like a day. It was at around 50 pound out as well. Now a 14 is a little tight but 16's are a little big. It will come. Keep up the great work.
  22. I'm so excited, I finally hit my first self goal... is was 4 days short, but I'm actually really good with that! Having so much to lose to begin with, 50 lbs actually hasn't changed much clothing wise (bummer my pants still fit the same even though people swear thats where I've lost it all)... For the most part I'm still wearing the same size... We did family pictures yesterday, I did go out and purchase a new top for that and it was a 26/28 instead of the 30/32 I've been purchasing for the past 5 plus years. Speaking of NSV I also noticed the other day I got into the passanger's seat of my car and buckled up... I told my husband/ driver that the seat belt was in a weird place, he pointed out that I didn't have the seat belt extender on... (what it actually buckled??) So this week has been full of Victories... I can't complain 4 weeks out! Although the constant pointing out where people think I have lost the weight has become some what annoying! No two answers are the same.. "I see it in your face", "I see it in your belly", "you've totally lost it in your arms" and so on... I'm trying to take it as a compliment, I must be losing it evenly.... one thing is for sure, I've had to tighten the laces on my shoes!
  23. I think that a lesson many people need to learn and understand. Calories eaten need to be less than calories burned .. the math is simple but application sometimes is hard .. great nsv tho well done

    Best Nsv Ever!!

I just posted in another topic about my NSV of the week - automatically adjusting my eating because I am too sick to exercise. I have NEVER before done that and I didn't even think about it, I just did it.
