  1. Yeah that seems difficult to get in so early. I was sleeved May 31 and today I got like 32 oz fluid, 1/2 yogurt and a 1/4c of refried beans. Today was one where a third meal would not have agreed with my tummy so I didn't push it. Sent from my SM-N920T using BariatricPal mobile app
  2. Hi. I was just wondering when everyone started protein bars. I have been on soft meats for a week now, and sometimes I just feel like having a little something at lunch, not a "meal" or a bar for breakfast. I have been fine with eggs, chicken, beef, yogurt, cheese. I am starting with a new dietitian on Saturday. Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app
  3. I had surgery exactly a week ago. I feel hungry all the time and my temptation for bad food has come back. I haven't dared gone near it even though my entire family eats fast food and delicious carbs around me all day long. I can't really tell the difference between being full or having gas? But i ate yogurt about 3 hours ago and am starving! Is it normal to feel this hungry all the time at this stage? Also anyone have really good meal ideas for this week? I'm getting tired of the same thing always. On a side note any one have recommendations for next week meals when I get to start adding meat?

    Feedback on my nutritionis'ts guidelines

I didn't move up to 1,000 calories until I was about 3 months post op. I had a hard time getting in 600-700 at the start. My goals at your stage were pretty straightforward - 60-90 grams of protein daily. 64 ounces of water daily. 30 minutes of exercise daily. If it had more than 10 g of sugar in a serving, don't eat it. My diet at that point was mostly Oikos Triple Zero yogurts, shakes and soups. When I added soft foods, I averaged under 25 grams of carbs a day. If you're not eating bread or wheat based products, you aren't going to wind up with many carbs. I am 10 months out. I eat 1,000 calories a day. 70-90 grams of protein and 64 ounces of water minimum. I still keep my sugar under 10g per serving unless it is fruit - I get one fruit a day. Today, I will probably be closer to 90G protein because I'll be fencing for 2.5 hours tonight. Count your protein and water/fluid - and you'll be in pretty good shape until you get to eating all foods.

  6. Surgery was June 14th I got my surgery outside of Los Angeles which is where I live and therefore I cannot see my nutrionist in person. She suggested: 1,000 calories/day 35 grams of carbs max 70 grams of protein minimum 15 gm of sugar max 86 ounces of fluids I wanted to see how this compared to other people. Please tell me what you think. It just seems like the fat is awfully small for the carbs to be so low. I am only at stage 2 where I am having protein shakes and nonfat greek yogurt mostly until Wendesday when I can eat soft foods. Let me know. Thanks!

    Ideas

I'm on post op day 5. I'm on full liquids. Clear liquids I had sf popsicles, 3/1 part diluted cranberry or apple juice. Chicken or beef broth. And sf jello. Full liquids I was told to try to get in 1/4to1/2 cup protein shakes twice a day. Sf yogurt, apple sauce (no chunks), sf pudding, blended soups (cream of chicken, minestrone, etc. ) soups need to be really blended, no chunks. Try to avoid gassy or acidic ones. I was told I could take beano if needed. Cream of wheat or cream of rice with fat free milk. All full liquids needed to be thinner then a milk shake.

    New to all this!

Welcome. Did your doc/ nut give you a plan to follow post op? If you google puréed foods you will get a ton of good recipes. Ricotta bake is one I like a lot. Homeade soups and broths are a good choice. Yogurt, cottage cheese, tuna, chicken, and egg salad also.

Honestly, I think the gas is the worst part. The good news is, it does get better. A LOT better. I'm 3 weeks post-op today and the gas is still there, but not painful and not as bad/frequent. I can take hefty sips of water and ate nearly a full cup of greek yogurt last night with no discomfort. It seems like it takes forever for you to adjust to new foods but trust me, it happens and you keep moving forward. For the gas, try chewable Gas-X. It gave me a lot of relief. 12. I had gastric bypass May 8th, 2017 I was 256 and today I'm 208 I feel I lost a little bit of weight. This is what I eat because I can't eat meat even if it's puree. Morning: Premier protein shake Afternoon: fat free Greek yogurt ( black cherry, strawberry, blue berries Around 4pm I buy a large mango smoothie from Dunkin donuts. IT will take me about 3 - 4 hrs to finish it. And I also eat 2-4 bags of nacho cheese sunflower seeds. The past week I drink water and crystal light. What can I do to eat better and lose weight? The reason I got this surgery is because I have intracranial hypertension...severe headaches. So they say losing weight and getting some injections on my forehead I should feel better. I'm getting desperate Sent from my SM-G928T using BariatricPal mobile app

Sleeve is on Wednesday the 28th

Hello. I am strictly drinking premier, and only drinking propel water. The shakes I've had that I like are vanilla, strawberry, banana and chocolate. I won't try the carmel. And I don't like coffee anything. So I will be really happy to have yogurt too.

    Blessed be the chili

I was meeting my protein goal with a lot of milk, protein kefir, and liquid yogurts. I was lucky dairy wasn't an issue. If it was, protein shakes would have been necessary. Introducing solids was slow and progressive. 3 ounces of soft protein at a time was happening around 6 weeks I think.

    Pre-Surgery Meal Prep Ideas

I do shakes in the morning - I make them at home and bring them with - Fairlife Skim Milk, protein powder and about a cup of fruit. Oikos Triple Zero Yogurt. Cheese sticks (cheddar, mozzarella, etc.). Almonds. I'm 10 months out and use a small cooler bag for work because I don't have access to a fridge.
  17. Yogurt, cottage cheese, homemade soup broth, once you get to puréed stage you can eat any meat and veggies just purée in your blender. Ricotta bake is a popular recipe also.

Pain gets better. I promise! I am 20 days post op and feel great. Around day 14 pain gets much better. I can take very big sips of water, eat yogurt and very soft eggs with no issues. Headache could be from the narcotic. Try straight Tylenol. Also look into getting a belly binder. It helps keep those muscles tight so you don't have to. Ice packs also feel good. Stay focused on the end game. It's worth it!
