    Any April 2021 surgeries?!

I was taking them as well but stopped. I am so bad about taking stuff. Im taking the gummies for hair and also the multi vitamin by them. I find it much easier to take gummies instead of the chews. My weight loss is slow I’m down around 60lbs. Seems like I have stalls but I still lose inches. I’m ok with it coming off slowly. I’m worried about loose skin. So far so good.

    Any April 2021 surgeries?!

Yes, and my hair is already thin too. Dr said around six months should notice hair coming back in one more month to go. Dr told me to take biotin and it's helping

    Any April 2021 surgeries?!

Do you take any other vitamins? I took the bariatric chewable for about a month and since then I have been doing sugar bear hair vitamins also. I am also around 53 pound loss.

Likewise, why would you ever ruin a perfectly good oatmeal raisin cookie with chocolate chips? Oatmeal raisin cookies are my favorite, but I also like chocolate chip cookies. However, I prefer each in its native form. Edit: For the record, I'm still in the weight loss phase. The closest I get to cookies is the occasional Bel Vita wafer.

    Any April 2021 surgeries?!

I understand! I dread washing my hair because it comes out in clumps! Im hoping it stops soon. I’ve started taking the sugar bear gummies for hair. I just started them so I’m not sure if they’re helping yet or not.

    Any April 2021 surgeries?!

Hi. I’m about 5 months out. I’ve lost 53 pounds. I’m kinda short so the weight looks like a huge difference on my body type. I have weeks that stall and don’t see any weight loss. So far I have been able to eat just about everything ( in small amounts) with no reactions. I do wish I was loosing weight at a faster pace but Slow progress is still progress.
  9. I'm so interested in what folks have to say about this. I too had the sleeve and my Gerd disappeared but now 3 yrs later and almost all my weight gained back in the past year due to personal loss that caused depression my Gerd is back worse then ever before. So I've been thinking about revision surgery.

    Any April 2021 surgeries?!

I count myself as one of the lucky ones too. No major issues, a few minor ones...occasionally heartburn - which goes away within minutes when I take medicine, early on, I did get sick a few times, but haven't done that since early weeks of solid food. Still cannot eat scrambled eggs, but can tolerate chicken now. I have had some hair loss, but my hair was so thick before, that seems like a blessing...as long as it stops in the next couple of months. I still wear the vitamin patch because the large pills are hard to swallow and upset my stomach. But that was the case before surgery, so not sure that will ever change. Most days, I am not hungry. Have to make myself eat for fuel but that has been liberating. The whole idea that food is fuel and not mindless consumption. My better half has been very supportive and has even came along for the ride of clean eating...and lost 25lbs himself. He's tall and honestly did not need to lose weight, but he says he feels better. I have 15lbs to goal, but honestly, if I didn't lose another pound, I would be happy. I truly wish everyone the best outcome and life long health and happiness! Exudos194, how are you doing?? 😊

    Any April 2021 surgeries?!

So far so good for me! I have to count myself very lucky. 5 mos and 1 week out and I am down 82lbs. I feel good. I’ve only been nauseous twice (once was frosting and once was lunch meat that I ate too fast and got stuck) but I have never thrown up, never had diarrhea. I can eat almost anything in small amounts (sometimes not so small so I try to be careful). Most of the time I am able to forget I ever had surgery just getting used to eating slower and less and drinking more. The other where I was losing a ton of hair is gone and over all everything is awesome. 47lbs to goal.

    VSG 1st month

I am also discouraged about my lack of weight loss. I'm 64, so I'm wondering if age has something to do with it. That and total irregularity (no movement at all, in spite of multiple laxatives being taken!) My surgery was September 1. Before the surgery, I had lost 15 lbs. The first 10 days after the surgery I lost 10 lbs, but not a pound since (11 days). I am increasing my activity and up to walking /or stationary biking 40 minutes a day. I hit all my protein grams and water goals, and consume between 400-600 calories. I know people say this will get better, but I'm afraid my age and digestive woes are working against me. Any older people have trouble making this work? I'm not going to give up, but I started at 288 and should be seeing more progress.
  13. Wow! Congratulations on achieving your weight loss goals! I can't believe you did it in a year. I'm so happy for you!

The nerd me researched body types so I could buy clothing at any size that was flattering. There is a body of work based on David Kibbe that I found interesting and there’s tons of videos on YouTube to help. Hair, makeup and clothes kind of follow your bones. You will see hints of it on The Makeover Guy on YouTube. Some people look their best self when they better match their bone structure. It was an enjoyable rabbit hole.

WHERE ARE MY AUGUST 2021 PEEPS?

Hi Tiffany, I am about 4 weeks out. I had a hernia repair as well. My weight loss has stalled as well. I have noticed that it usually takes about 2 days then it goes down about 1 pound. Warm water is good for constipation. It works almost right away. I have been having a hard time finding things to eat. I can’t stand the smell and taste of the protein shakes or anything else. Been drinking zero Powerade.

*raises hand* my hair is in a messy bun or sloppy ponytail almost ALL. THE. TIME. Even when I leave the house with it down, it ends up UP by the time I get home. 😂 That is so interesting...I've had super short pixie hair maybe 3 times in my life and I find that it actually takes waaaaaaaaay more time to style than longer hair! Probably cuz my hair is super straight and bed head is a real issue when I have short-short hair.

    Post VSG Hair Loss

I've had short hair at my highest weights. I am not a big fan of when women have long hair and put it up in a messy bun or sloppy pony tail and I don't like when my hair is in my face, and I think having short hair looks a lot better on a fatter face, so I've had short hair my whole adult life. Takes way less time to deal with.

It definitely does suck but thankfully my hair was pretty full too so the only place where it’s noticeable is the ends (since I had layers) and the top of my head. Luckily it seemed to slow down a bit but I might do the same thing and cut it soon. I completely agree and feel a lot more confident to pull off shorter hair now that I’m a bit thinner!!

    Irregular periods

Oestrogen is stored in your fat so as you lose weight or that oestrogen is released into your bloodstream. This hormonal flush can cause more or less frequent, heavier or lighter, longer or shorter periods. It will settle when you get closer to goal &/or your weight loss slows. For me, my menopausal symptoms disappeared - whoo hoo - but once I got to goal (I lost the subsequent weight slowly) they all came back again. Sigh. Congrats on your surgery.

    Anxiety vs. Fear

Thank you all for the good advice. To answer some of your questions: my team wanted me to substitute 2 protein shakes for meals. So I usually eat a sensible lunch since I work night shift and I’m not as busy vs day shift (I’m a nurse). I log everything before I even put it in my mouth. If I don’t eat it all, I don’t alter the entry’s. I keep the calories for it. I think the weigh gain was due to my monthly BFF. However, I’m still anxious and worried about having to lose this 15-20 pounds. I know I will probably lose most of the weight when I start the “liver shrinking” diet. I’m just being ultra tough on myself because I’m tired of not living due to the excess weight. I’m eager to see what the nutritionist has to say. I use my fitness pal app to log everything. I am going to buy a food scale tomorrow. I am a pescatarian so I have to be very aware of my foods to ensure I am getting my protein in my food as well. when y’all were going through the beginning, were you nervous about the pre weight loss before surgery? How did you sike yourself out?

    Any August 2021 Bypassers?

Finally, two weeks later I'm down 4.4 pounds! My leg is still hurting, and I see doc tomorrow bc I've been on antibiotics for 14 days, and have still been able to walk, but I'm ready to hit the weights and do some serious moving to up this weight loss and my leg is limiting that, so I'll have to deal with that. Hope you still are doing awesome!

    Irregular periods

Sometimes your hormones from the weight loss can totally mess up your cycle! My own was really messed up at one point and I had my period then was off it for about a week and had it again and then was off it for a week again and had it again and it kept recycling that for about two months (in which I had my period about 5 times) before it even itself out. I did bring it up to my doctor, but by that point it had even itself out again. She told me that if it happened again she'd give me some meds to hopefully regulate it so you could always bring it up with your PCP.
  25. It happened three times this weekend. I think I'm going to call my primary care doctor and see why I can't go through allergy testing to see what's going on. I did stop all vitamins for a bit when it first started happening because I thoughts that's what it was but after 4+ days of being without them and coming down with hives again I eliminated the vitamins. And i'm really only taking a heartburn pill so I don't think it's that. I was taking about 12 prescriptions a day but I reversed all my health conditions with the weight loss. I guess I need to stop complaining. Getting rid of the diabetes is worth having hives for. Thanks for the feedback everyone.
