    Ummm, NSV?

I'm on call this weekend for the first time since surgery. I had to swap a piece of equipment. On a normal work day I'm wearing my uniform but on the weekends it is usually a work shirt and jeans or shorts. I stepped out of my van at a customers place my shorts fell off! O-f-f, off! Needless to say I scrambled to cover my butt and I was quite embarrASSed. The old lady got a show and apparently I got a NSV...
  2. I was banded July 8, 2010 so I'm just approaching my 2 year bandversery. I expected to loose weight after being banded and I generally followed the rules. That took practice though. You don't have to start off perfect. I expected to loose a little quicker than I have but I gained so much more that I never bargained for. First of all there is a bounce in my step everyday, I love getting dressed in the morning, I am confident when meeting new people and no longer embarrassed of myself. I finally have gone through and used that closet full of too small clothes that I accumulated over years. I am down 12 pant sizes and shop in regular clothing stores. I have tons of energy! Other than NSV's though I have leaned so much about exercise and nutrition. I have changed my lifestyle in SO many little ways. I love the new me and I love to learn more and more about healthy living. I have averaged 1 lb a week but that sure does add up! My next big goal is onderland! I have dreamed of that for 17 years, since my first child was born. I didn't imagine I would be THIS happy!!!

    My first real NSV

wonderful nsv. I also had a hump neck for years. It would get so bad that my neck ached all the time. I am so happy for you to get rid of that. Mine started shrinking after a few months as well. keep up the good work.

  7. My husband and I were play fighting today, which we often do, and out of no where he pulls a move never used on me before... He grabs my collar bone! I didn't know I had them... He told me they've been poking out a few weeks now. Went to the bathroom mirror to check... I'll be damned.. there they were. NSV number 1227... Lol...(or so it feels lol)

    Rings too loose?

given some more time it will even out mostly by going away. this one was a great NSV for me - putting my wedding ring back on after years of it sitting in a drawer. then you may need it resized but wait for a few months

NSVs - So very happy !

This may be a dumb question, but what does NSV stand for? I know what it means, but the closest I can guess is "No Small Victories"

    Tomorrow

So tomorrow is my 2 month bandiversary! i feel like i have come a long way.. the way i feel.. how i eat... how my clothes feel.. i recently went back to work on June 10th and while the scale is still moving it has gone slower.. so i said to myself okay.. that's prolly normal, give my body time to catch up or something... I have had a few NSV's at work to make up for it and well just simply amaze me and some of my co -workers... I am able to get up with my alarm and get to work.. not feeling as tired or sluggish before... one of our providers told me friday "Jen you need to buy new shirts these are swimming on you" .. and the best accomplishment yet.. we have a set of stars that are two full sets.. before i would huff n puff and have to stop to catch my breath so i avoided them like the plague... i got up them with not so much huff and puff! I love it! The little things definitely help keep my motivated and once again i stop to ask myself "why didn't i do this sooner!" Thanks for letting my post my wonderful accomplishments thus far!! What are yours?
  14. I am not even a full month out (surgery was July 2nd) and I am down like 23 pounds from day of surgery. My clothes are fitting loose and I have soooo much more energy. I am already noticing my confidence returning...and my adventurous nature! The other day, I DIVED off a diving board - 3 times! My children have NEVER sen me do this! They loved it - and so did I!!! Also - we went to the movies, and my butt fit in the chair! My husband - who is 100% supportive and never made me feel less than sexy - is astounded! He is gone 2 weeks at a time - so he sees bigger changes than I do in the day to day functioning....... I am excited...I haven't lost much in the last week and a half, but I have faith. food is not controlling my life, yet I enjoy SMALL portions of really good food that is good for me! I am hitting 60g of Protein a day - thank God I love fish!!
  15. What a great feeling. You must look fantastic! What a wonderful NSV-Losing 10 years!!!

    New NSV's for me!!!

I was kindof bummed this morning, as I started the Fall Weightloss Challenge last week, and my first weeks performance was a horific 2lb GAIN. Say what??? I know why I gained, so I guess I just need to work on my eating behaviors, and I'm going in for a fill today too. Despite the reappearance of these 2lbs, I am celebrating my overall achievement since being banded. This morning I was looking for something a bit dressy to wear to the office. I tried on a great black & teal suit that I've had for a few years. I used to just wear the jacket and pants since the camisole was tighter than the skin on a sausage. Not only are the jacket and pants too big, but I could slip the camisole on without unzipping it, and it was so loose that it looked terrible. Yay! Then, for kicks, I decided to try on another suit, and once again, too big! So I opted for a nice plaid skirt that used to be soo tight that 1. I'd have to ask my hubby to zip it for me, while I sucked in my gut and pulled tight on fabric to give him enough slack to let it zip, and 2. it was so tight that it would bunch at the waist leaving about an inch of the lining showing at the bottom. Well, I am happy to say that I pulled it on this morning....you read it right, PULLED, not even unbuttoned or unzipped! It's not too big to wear, but there is definately a differance from before. I just wanted to share these motivating discoveries. Thanks for reading!

    NSV',

Great NSV!! Here's mine... I've noticed my bras getting a little loose at the top and the straps kept falling off my shoulders. Finally went to Soma to buy a new one since that's where I bought my last one... Had to try on several to get one that fit properly.... Went from a 42DD to a 40C!! Havent seen a 40C in the last 10 years, since before I started having kids!!! I've been a little down that the scale has been yo-yoing the last few weeks but now I can see that I may not have lost pounds but I can see where the inches came off!!!
  18. Good for you! I am writing this poolside as I have my own little NSV...feels good, doesn't it :-)
  19. Ah, that is still my favourite NSV to date, and it takes a while to sink in too, I still think of myself as bigger than my husband even though I am over 35lb less than him now. Enjoy it, it just gets better and better! xx

    New to the site

About 7 months post op I was telling a story to some co-workers and using my hands during a demonstrative moment. My wedding ring went flying across the room landing on someone's keyboard. Oy ... At this point, nobody at my work knew I had the surgery (they all know now) but of course, they knew I had been losing weight. It was a funny NSV. The problem was, my wedding ring was titanium, which can't be re-sized. I basically went without a ring for a year as I didn't know where my weight was going to settle. I have since purchased a new ring and it works for me. I am sad it is not my "wedding" ring, but I do still have the original up by the kitchen sink. Stores can always order a ring in your size and if not, if it is a pliable metal, they can re-size it.

    Okay so here's the latest!

Oh RJ...Girlfriend will you ever catch a break?? Wow. I am praying for you. It is high time your body "get's with the program" so you can go about your life enjoying your new "skinny" self!!! A small bathing suit on a beach would be such a better NSV than fitting into a tiny hospital gown, but I applaud you for looking for the bright side! My thoughts and prayers are sending healing ju ju your way...

    Okay so here's the latest!

I forgot to mention I had a major NSV as well at the hospital.. When I went to have the CT done. The nurse handed me this little cotton navy blue nightie to put on. She just handed it to me. It was cotton and there was no stretch. I took it from her and went into the changing room. I opened it up and looked at it and thought that there was no way it would fit me..Then I thought maybe I should just bite the bullet and go out and ask for a larger size. Then I was so distressed that I thought fine I'll try it on and if it does not fit I will get dressed again and go tell her then. I slipped it on and there was room to spare. It was loose on me. I came out of the room and my hubby had been worried about the same thing that it was too small for me..... He looked at me and said wow.....I sat down and looked at him and tears ran down my face...I would not have been able to even pull it over my head 18 months ago....I felt really tiny and excited and happy.. Until I went into the room and it took her 5 times to find a vein to hit for the dye....
