Last night I had a meeting for my son's high school football team. I had not seen many of my friends from football since before the summer. It's only been 10 weeks since my surgery, but I got so many compliments on how great I looked. I have not felt pretty in YEARS! Last night I felt like Miss America! I also felt confident and happy. I am amazed at the psychological change losing weight brings on. For those of you experiencing stalls early out and stressing over them.... I have had two so far (am currently in one now) that have lasted a few weeks. Trust me when I tell you, your body is still changing for the good!

Week 20 (5 Months Post Op)
Izuri commented on mrsteacher's blog entry in Sleeved by Dr. Kelly in Mexico
You are kicking butt! And sooo close to onederland - I bet you will reach it next week, maybe even be below just hitting it. You should check Groupon, I know that the power house gym in my area is having a good sale on there for a few months of gym time. Maybe there are some in your area too? Congrats on the NSV! Sounds like a lot of people are noticing. -
My NSV was when my boss pulled me aside and told me to go exchange my work shirts for some that fit:)

Yea for NSV's!

Wear scrubs at work, and have been wearing a 3x for a crazy amount of time. I've been downsizing the top to 2x for about a month. Decided this morning to give the 2x bottoms a try since I'm constantly pulling up the bigger ones. They FIT! Not tight, either. The scale isn't changing much, but my clothes definitely fit better

Today i went for my 3rd fill. My dr told me and i agree i am not tight enough. I hope this breaks the barly losing cycle i have been on. I also think that cause i am so scared of being to tight and being so far from my dr that I play it safe on the fills. This time we put in almost a cc. He said he felt this would start things moving. On another note I went to a scrub shop today and tried on new scrubs. I bought one pair of xl pants and top and tried on some more. I was able to get the XL on in all brands but they was a little tight still .. but wont be long till i will need those. The xxl i have are now all very lose. It has been a long time since i work XL scrubs so i am excited by it.

So...I tried on jeans 2 weeks ago, and found that I was down from a size 26 to a size 22. I had a couple old pairs of size 24's, so I decided to order some size 20's, and just wear the baggy 24's until I could get into the new 20's. Well....those new 20's arrived today....AND THEY FIT!!! I don't just mean I could manage to get them zipped...I mean I could breathe and sit in them!! They look amazing! Its been more than 15 years since I could fit into a pair of size 20 pants...and, so help me G-d, I will NEVER see anything larger EVER AGAIN!!! WOOHOO!!

Just had a minor emergency in my neighborhood. I pulled on a pair of jeans and ran out to help. It wasn't until later that I realized I was comfortably wearing jeans from my "too tight" pile. Great feeling!

On the first day of the challenge i was 195 today i weigh 184.5. I will be 14 weeks post op tomorrow. I went three straight weeks did not lose a single ounce. So i am assuming it was the "three month stall" at least i hope! My goal is to be under 180 by labor day! My bday will be the 5th. Then i cruise on the 15th! I would love to be 175 by sept. 15! nsv!!! I ACTUALLY jogged one half mile last night with out stopping, with a total of 2 miles on the treadmill and 20 minutes on the gazelle! Made me smile!!! I do allot of that lately!!! Loving my new life! -
Where Are My April 2012 Sleevers?

Feeling fabulous & loving the new lease on life I have now. Achieved another one of my reasons for having his surgery last night, a wonder NSV. Attended Open House at my daughter's school for the first time in 2 years--I hadn't gone since I couldn't fit in the desks last time and had difficulty climbing the stairs and running around the building from class-to-class. Not only did I fit into the desks, but I lapped lots of parents running from one side of the school to the other. What a joyful moment when I realized what was going on!!! -
Hi everyone! I too have a job interview today, so wish me luck too! I have to say, I feel much more confident at 211 lbs than I did at 284 lbs! Meredith- GOOD LUCK!! You'll do awesome, and congrats on the size 16 practically 14!!! Yay!!! And that NSV, that's a biggie, I HATED flying when I was larger, so embarrassing. Savannah- Oneder(ful)land, LOL, 7 lbs, that's just a few weeks away! Good for you! Getting to the green zone in your head is a great accomplishment, as I have seen written, we have a band around our stomach, not our head, and that's a hard thing to tame, so good for you! Chrissy-me too on the sliders- popcorn and of course, ice cream. I am having to really eat more slowly and chew chew chew- things I'm so not used to doing. I know when I got this surgery I vowed to not eat sliders, that I would chew my protein and eat healthily, not crap- so I just have to keep that in my head. I also decided I would absolutely not lie to myself and I would log everything I ate, even the crap sliders. As far as the BM thing- I'll bet it's just your body finally adjusting. I think being regular is a good thing. Have you upped your liquid intake at all? that could help in that department. I think it's a good thing. Kymie- I hear you! I too get too hungry and then take to big a bite my first bite and don't chew enough then get stuck then eat something crappy later. I just have started stopping myself before that first bite and reminding myself to eat small bites (it helps to cut things up into small bites before I start eating- it gives me time to remind myself, then they're all ready and cut up small!). I'm also trying to insert a snack- usually greek yogurt- in the afternoon so I'm not starving at dinner. I also (as I said to Chrissy) log everything- EVERYTHING! As to exercise, it's important- but with a pulled calf muscle take it easy. Maybe walking, if it doesn't hurt, or stretching or just upper body, but try to get back in the habit- I totally know what you mean by it's a cycle. Greek yogurt is good for a tight band, for sure, and it's got a lot of protein. Also cheese- I love sharp cheese, or I heard those laughing cow cheeses are good. Good luck, hang in there, and you're NOT failing the band! It's a process, and heck woman, you've lost 75 lbs in a little over 6 months!!! Not a failure!! Just keep on plugging along, there will be ups and downs. Had a good sweaty zumba class last night, then a kind of restless night stressing about this interview. And being at work, knowing I'm being laid off, sux. But I WILL get this job, I am a great fit and I will do a great job in the interview!! LOL Nicki

Week 20 Last week’s weight – 201.6 This week’s weight – 200.2 Total weight lost this week – 1.4 Beginning weight – 246 lbs Total weight loss since surgery – 45.8 lbs Average weekly weight loss since surgery – 2.2 lbs I lost 1.4 lbs this week but still haven’t hit onederland yet (maybe next week). This week I have not been exercising as much as I would have liked primarily because I went back to work after the summer off. On the plus side I’ve been so busy at work that I think that is what helped shed some of the weight this week. I tried a free Crossfit session this past weekend and enjoyed it. It is quite expensive ($110/month) so I am not sure if that is something I would join or not. Still looking at the Y at $50/month. I need to get my exercise motivation up a bit. NSV - We've been off for several weeks for summer break and I have been getting lots of compliments from staff members now that I am back (particularly from staff at other schools whom I haven't seen for awhile). That has made me feel good this week

Today some relatives from out of town were visiting at my uncle's home with lots of other relatives in attendance. I chose to go (I wouldn't have gone in the past since I was embarrassed about my weight). Instead of feeling ashamed and self conscious, I felt empowered and happy. They were all happy to see me & I rec'd lots of compliments on my weight loss. I love my sleeve!

Where Are My April 2012 Sleevers?
Star1221 replied to JimmyGotSLEEVED's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hello all. Had an amazing week for nsv and scale victories... Officially in a 14... Haven't been there for 18 years. Officially hit onederland (198 for 2 days). I weigh 5 pounds less than my husband. And have been getting hit on daily (I love attention lol). I just had to share it with people who understand. Hope everyone else is having an outstanding week -
Chrissy, that's an awesome NSV! You must feel so good and should be proud of yourself for all your hard work. I have a job interview tomorrow, wish me luck, and thought I had some slacks I could still wear in the closet. Good thing I tried them on because they were 18's and they were swimming on me! All 3 prs! I ran out to SteinMart and was able to get into a 14 but right on the edge of being a little too tight so I went with the 16 and that was ok. They were a totally different cut of slacks, not like Lane Bryant's forgiving curves, they were all more straighter but with a little curve so I was pleased with that.Actually didn't mind going shopping and trying on clothes. Oh yeah, I had an NSV the other night. I flew home from South Carolina Saturday night. This was the first time since I flew 2 weeks before surgery and I was able to sit in the seat with room to move around and I was in the middle seat between two strangers!!! No bumping into them feeling like I was spilling over into their space to boot! I know others' here can relate to this NSV as a major accomplishment and a comfortable one at that. Like you Chrissy, exercise is key for me. Even though I felt active without working out, I could see my body becoming flabbier where it was once starting to tone up. I also made some poor choices last week with eating. Found out I can eat one of my favorite past times without any problems, Cheez Doodles! Ate a bag in two days instead of finishing it in one sitting. Not good. Oh well, I think I got them out of my system for now. Not bad after not having them for 7 months. Anyone else here have some of their old favorite's rearing their ugly heads to entice us lately>

I am sorry you are having this problem. I had this problem last year and it was horrible. It's probably the biggest nsv that I have had since losing weight. Nobody else noticed it but me and I was taking several showers a day, using summer's eve body wash, sprays, powders, and I wish you the best of luck.

Oh my! I'm so far behind! LOL. Welcome back Dee! Welcome back from vacation everyone. I was on vacay last Thursday through the weekend...and just haven't had a chance to post. I'm off work today for the kiddo's first day of seventh grade...so I had a few minutes before he gets home. I did okay during the vacay. didn't really gain except for a bit of water weight. At the theme park on Thursday, I had a double serving protein shake on the drive from Nashville to Santa Claus, IN. We got into the park and I did not eat again until about 530!!! Didn't even think about food. However, they have free drink stations throughout the park so I did drink a lot pre-sweetened tea and lemonade. LOL. It seems like everyone has either done okay or rebounded from vacations/summer break. Time to knuckle down and get back on track for me. Gotta get back to an exercise routine besides just walking. These abs and thighs are NOT going to tone themselves. lol. I have a check up on Monday. Don't know if he will do a fill. I feel like my band is fairly tight most of the day. I just have to do better about what I'm putting into my body. (i just ate miniature mounds candy bar!) Hope you all are doing better than I am. Oh...I DO have an NSV. I'm officially into size 16 (not 16W), down from almost a size 26! And...the 16's are loose in the waist and hopefully will be loose enough to go to a 14 soon. Have a great day!

How About An Nsv List For The Post-Op's?!
TheRealMeIsHere! replied to JDHenin's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Feels awesome, doesn't it? I'm down 119 and have almost ALL of the same experiences. Keep up the good work. Some of my other NSV's are: I eat to live, not live to eat. food used to be something I would obsess about, order out, spend a lot of time preparing. Now...I think sometimes that something would be good, but then I move on, it does not become an all consuming desire. A funny DUH moment recently. I began going to a gym, every day, a month ago. When leaving the gym, I would think 'hmmm, I smell Chinese food'. Two weeks later...I notice that there is a Chinese buffet next door, actually attached to the gym 2 doors down!! A year ago, I wouldn't have noticed the gym. -
My 9 your old son came into my room to say goodnight and when he hugged me he started rubbing on my should and says, " Your skin is really hard" I was puzzled cause he was not touching my skin since I had a nightgown on... He pushes on my shoulder and says see it's not squishy.....lol I said oh you can feel my bones... "Yeah see how hard it is" ... Lol... So no my skin is not hard.... But I don't have as much fat under neath my skin...lol tomorrow im 2 weeks post op and im down 19lbs(11 pre op)

Labor Day Challenge 2012
Giselle3264 replied to jhansen71's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Week Five post op Challenge weight: 203.4 Last week's weight: 191.0 Today's weight: 188.8 (down 2.2 pounds) Goal weight: 180 This past Saturday I discovered ice water with loads of lemon. Evie Sleevie tolerated it very well and it moved the scale. Lots of NSVs every time I wear something. I LOVE my sleeve! -
That is a great NSV! Just told my husband I would ride with him after I lose weight. I ride my own bike too.
