An Nsv That Made Me Blush ;p

Here's my Wal-Mart story--- probably been going on for a few months, but I only realized it yesterday: I no longer have to head for the "handicapped" stall in the restroom. I can close and open the regular stall door easily without having to compress myself against the toilet!!! An unusual NSV!!!
  2. That's an NSV if I've ever seen it!
  3. I had a very strong craving for cake. Like thinking about Cake for 30 Min. I cut up And ate a 1/4 cup of tomatoes instead. It's kind of the same thing right? Actually it tasted amazing to me. Nsv

    The Cycle...!

Lol!! Thanks gals! Luckily I've always kept tampons and pads in my bathroom and glove compartment. I always thought about the "just in case" factor. Even though "it" never came! Lol. So this AM I was able to use one of my supplies. I have always with wings. Hope that's a good brand. We'll see. I wasn't sure how to put it on like which direction... There's a wider part that I figured should go towards the back and the smaller in the front. I hope that's right..? Lol. I'll look into the heating pads as well. I took Tylenol extra strength a few minutes ago. Hopefully it will work Bc these cramps are no joke. I planned on going shopping today but I don't want to walk around feeling like this. Your right this is a NSV! Whoohoo. And omg 72 days of bleeding. Sheesh! Your a trooper. I'm praying this doesn't last longer than 7 days. Lol. Thanks again!!!!

    The Little Things

Sent my skinny mini sister a text this morning saying "I'm so excited to say I'm down to 399 (what a hideous number to be excited about)..." she was so sweet and encouraging, I truly love her! But this was the first real lb lost in a few weeks. I've been pretty depressed about the scale the past couple of days, cranky even! I know the NSVs are there but I'm still just not feeling it. An a different note the Texas heat has been kind the past couple of days and I've gotten some good walking in... Woot! Everyone loves a picture and this is my current NSV... I feel like I need to point out the boob to lumpy tummy ratio... But my family was able to see with out my description
  9. So my hubby and my daughters went into Kmart to buy something. After they went in I realized that I needed something. I went in and got the thing I needed. I was at the register paying for my stuff when my hubby and kiddos came up to the register across from me. I saw my hubby look over at me, at which time I thought he realized that it was me. He looked me up from the feet to the top.....and then came across my face and then shook his head. He didn't realize that it was me at all. When he did his face had this shocked and embarressed look on it. He laughed and said, "I just got caught checking out my own wife....haha!" I thought it was pretty cool that I am skinny (and sexy) enough for my own hubby to check me out Love it!!!!
  10. this is totally a wonderful NSV! dont it feel great? lol

    Nsv Drum Roll Please!

As someone who has broken furniture by sitting on it, I understand what a NSV that is! Huzzah!
  13. I fit in my 9 year olds classroom desk! Why was i in it u ask? That is not the point...the oint is i fit and didnt hear anything crack! . That was awesome!!
  14. I had about 90-something pounds to lose. I'm about 6 weeks out and I've lost around 48 pounds. I completely agree with all the people who posted above, so I'll just add that everyone's body is different so everyone loses weight differently. It's true whether you're sleeved or not. Comparing your weight loss with others' progress is kind of a dangerous game in this respect. I lose muscle quickly, and I lose fat slower than muscle, so I'm sure a good portion of my weight loss is from muscle weight instead of fat. Also, I'll be headed back to the gym soon and I plan on toning up, so I'll probably gain muscle weight now. And muscle weighs more than fat. Although I step on the scale every morning, I'm trying not to fixate on it. Instead I'm focusing on being able to fit back into my "thin clothes", which I'm happy to say I've started doing. My wedding band is starting to fit better too. In sum: don't just think about how fast you lose weight. You can get excited by all your NSV (non-scale victories) just as much.

    Nsv! High School Desks

Awesome NSV, Tracey! I look forward to that day.
  16. I went to Open House at my kids' high school tonight. The last several years I went, I had to squeeze myself into the desks with the attached chairs. It was always so uncomfortable and embarrasing. It really made me feel bad for the teenagers who are overweight and would have to sit in those all day long. Tonight, without thinking about it (since it only happens once a year) I comfortably slid into one of those desks! It did not dawn on me right away, but suddenly I realized that I fit!! Not only did I fit, but I had plenty of room to turn, or slouch or cross my legs! Woo hoo!
  17. I went to my absolute fave place to eat, Panera Bread, and I passed all the delish breads and pastries without even considering getting something. I ordered the chicken noodle and only drank the broth (I'm on my pre-op liquid diet) and got water instead of my signature iced green tea. This is a huge accomplishment for me, because I used to have a toasted cinnamon crunch bagel every morning after work with an iced green tea, of course. While I haven't been perfect on the pre-op diet, I did start back at the gym after 3 years of not doing a single thing. I lost 11 pounds the first week. Surgery on Tuesday!!!!'

    Non Scale Victory

Kids are so funny!! My little girl who is 6 was one of the main reasons why I decided I needed to do this. I also have a 2 1/2 yr old boy. But she said a couple months ago "Mommy you're fat". OMG I lost it. I started crying and and of course she got upset. Needless to say, Yes that was a slap in the face and a very hard pill to swallow... I'm looking foward to NSV.. Keep up the good work!!
  20. Congratulations on all the awesome NSVs and I think the dress Looks beautiful and not "out of date" at all.... Enjoy it! Sent from my iPhone using VST

    Best Nsv For Me....

I have a lot of NSV's but my most memorable, my favorite is when I could see my collar bone!!!
  22. first NSV i can cross my legs

  23. Well.. As sometimes happens, I had this post all typed out and then I lost it. Ain’t that the pits? :-/ I could call these progress shots, or I could call these goal shots as I am 9 lbs away and I am so happy that I feel like I am already a success story, Even though occasionally I still see “Fat Heather” in the mirror, I see her less and less with every passing day. I am only a week and a half away from my surgiversary and I think these are the first “progress pics” I have posted. Let’s start with the stats. I started this journey: Weighing: 302.4 lbs Wearing: Size 24W pants, 2X shirts Waist: 50" I am currently: Weighing: 164.4 lbs Wearing: Size 10 pants, M shirts (I think with a tuck I could wear an 8) Waist: 25" I have lost 5 ft. total from my bust, waist, and hips alone. I still have a nice, ample 34DD bust and my waist is 25 inches. I am so proud of this, let me tell you. I also started married and am now divorced. Funny how that happens. Anyway, enough jabbering before the pictures, but after I will share some NSVs I posted in another thread so maybe stick around to read those? I guess I should start with those dreaded befores.. The first few in the dark bar are from either late July or early August of 2011 and the last is from September 2nd, 2011 with my sleeve sister on sleeve day. Before: Now for the afters (these are WAAAAY more fun!): August 20th, 2012 (164.4 lbs) August 4th, 2012 (Idk.. Maybe 170?) Father's Day 2012 (183 lbs!) About 25 lbs ago, I was carried around piggy back for the first time since childhood... All around my house. It was the most amazing feeling ever! 21 lbs ago, I got the courage to post the bathing suit picture 2 up on FACEBOOK!! I can shop for panties and bras at VS.. I think I look my age more now (26), I think. I wear my 4 and 5" heels with EASE!! I can sit on my BF's lap and not ever worry about hurting him. I have freaking defined collarbones! Not the scary kind, but defined and I love them. I fit into EVERY chair, usually with room to set my purse next to me.. This is sometimes not the case. I think by the time I hit goal and have my plastics, my measurements will be very, VERY close to 36-25-36. Men ask for my number in bars and clubs. I get carded more often. Doors are opened more often. I am 110% more confident at work. Well, (in the words of Forrest, Forrest Gump) That's all I have to say about that! Thank you for reading and viewing and (possibly) commenting. xxoo Heather (GemInTheRough, soon to be JustAGem)

    This Sucks!

Congrats! That's awesome!! A definite victory for you!!! My dinner tonight was @ Mexican with a girlfriend I haven't seems in months. I'm not sleeved yet (55 days to go!) but I've been trying to liquid diet as much as I can beforehand. I was so proud of myself: NO CHIPS even though they were on the table in front of me. I ordered chicken fajitas & was able to ignore the soft tortillas on the side. I grinned all the way home thinking that must have been my first NSV.

    Water Park Fail

I agree with Spatters3, you are very brave! I gave up on the water parks years ago because I could not stand the feeling like I was going to have a heart attack just from climbing the stairs, let alone the weight limits! I cannot wait to read your NSV about conquering the water parks next summer! You will get there! You are doing great so far!
