So excited, I can finally fit back into my clothes from 3 years ago! The scale is moving slow and steady but the inches are dropping off rapidly

Had a little victory today. Went to Longwood Gardens to tour the orchid exhibit in the conservatory. Managed to walk for over 3 hours with just a couple short little breaks to sit and chat with my friend while taking in the beautiful flowers. Seriously, a couple months ago I couldn't have handled the walk from the parking lot to the visitor center let alone the hike over to the conservatory and throughout. Looking forward to how much better it will be after surgery. Can't wait to go out and DO things!

Scared about pre op diet. How can you feel full on a liquid protein shake? How did you get through two weeks of it??
-
I too had two weeks of liquid diet before my surgery and while yes I did have some headaches and hunger pains it is really doable. You should be able to drink anywhere between 4-6 protein shakes a day and reason for the protein shakes it so it keeps your fuller for longer. You can also speak to your nut or surgeon about having clear broths inbetween those shakes as well. Stay strong cause in the long run it is worth it for you will have a safer and healthier start to your journey. Good luck!

It was actually far easier than I expected. I did find taking time drinking each shake it seemed to work better than if I drank it down in a hurry.I did make mine with ice in them which made them seems thicker and again they took longer to drink. It is worth any hunger you go through to reach the goal of surgery. Good luck and congratulations on making this change in your life.

Well, i had my surgery August 27 and it was a success. Just really hungry so far, and can't wait to start stage 3.

yes. You taste buds will be a little different and need time to adjust. You will get past this as well. Just stick to what makes you get through the day. Water was a huge problem for me so I drank a lot of crystal light now I can finally drink water again. I still hate sugar and most meats though and I'm almost at 8 months. You just had major surgery so give your mind and your body time to adjust, We are here for you!

Random thoughts: Fall is my favorite season and it's almost here. I love taking my kids to the pumpkin patch. I am almost at my 3 year surgiversary and about to have revision surgery. Excite but apprehensive.

This past Monday I made 7 weeks post-op. Saw my doc and was told my daily portein intake should be 65 grams WITHOUT having to resort to shakes. WTW?!?! I am geting nowhere near that amount. Is anyone else having problems getting enough protein daily? Water? I was told at least 64 oz a day which is approximately 4 bottles of water - you would think that'snot a lot, but I can barely get 3 in a day. Please tell me I'm not alone in this.

@emilyphoenix74, seems you and I are in the same boat. This phase is a little frustrating.

3 Wks Post-Op Today! Down 16 pounds. A little slow since the first week, but I'm doing my best to be patient.

Lost 10 and now Im at a stall! Other than that life is peachy!

I've been on a one-week break from my fitness habits: Drinking wine with dinner, eating treat foods, logging haphazardly on MFP, and not keeping up with my exercise schedule. It's time to get back on track.

Ok. So still frustrated with the scale not moving, BUT , first NSV--a dress that did not fit last week, is almost ready to wear. Maybe with some spandex, but soon!,
-
Really frustrated! I assume my body is in shock from losing so much the first to weeks, and adding the multi vitamin with iron didn't help, and the monthly visitor, but seriously, gaining a pound??
-
So - hormones have totally caught up with me 7 weeks post-sleeve. I'm a raging lunatic today.

Well it is 6:47 AM here on the east coast and today I start my 2 week journey of only liquids prior to surgery. Went to see my Dr. yesterday he said everything looks great and was very confident with my surgery. he also said that many Sleeve patients have nausea for three days after surgery. He gave me a script to take 1 pill before I leave that morning and 2 more pills 1 for each day after, said that they were a bit pricey, when I went to the pharmacy they were $328.00 so I neglected to purchase them. I contacted the nurse and she said don't worry they would give me something in the hospital in I was sick. Were any of you very sick that made it had to drink?

I'm finally done being stuck. Scale number changed after two agonizing weeks. Onward!
